Sans Gluten (Gluten Free)
Brian P.

Stop order ahead right now and thank me later. Most likely they won't run out but why chance it. You know how hard it is to find great gluten free food or you wouldn't be reading my review right now. If you are looking for gluten free food and tired of staring at your friends disgustingly good looking cafe food full of gluten this place is for you. Croissants with almonds looked delicious but unfortunately as we got there late in the day the last were being sold. It was a busy holiday weekend so we understood but there was more to choose from and they are wanting to make sure you get the freshest food for you.

The Croissants here are worth 5 Stars (or more) - they are hands down THE BEST Gluten Free Croissants I have ever had. My partner who is not GF could not even tell they were GF! We got there on a Wednesday shortly after opening and were told that the oven was broken so croissants from another location were being brought over and it would be ~30 mins, this ended up taking over 1.5 hours. During our wait the staff were super nice and brought us coffee and a small slice of GF cake for the inconvenience. Once the croissants arrived, hand delivered by the owner, he was super friendly and talked to us about the croissants and how hard it was to make a good GF version. He even let me try a small new flavor test croissant! I had the almond croissant which was full of amazing flavor. The next day we went back (since it was that good) and I had the chocolate croissant which was good, but really not as good as the almond - this croissant I still think about. The storefront is a normal modern bakery, but what really makes the atmosphere here was the staff member who was working both days we went - he was SUPER positive, friendly, and outgoing chatting with each patron individually asking who was GF, how long they had been GF, etc. The other thing that makes this place great is the energy in the store from the guests as folks would come in and exclaim "I have not had a GF croissant in 20 years!" or things like "it has been a decade since I had a pastry due to being GF!" and this happiness brought so many good vibes to the space. Overall, I wish I lived in Montreal so I could eat these croissants all the time - they truly are amazing and something I still think about! If you are in town and gluten free PLEASE visit! You will not regret it!

I saw the great gluten feee reviews and wanted to see if they had dairy free and nut free items... and they did! They had labels for all their gf, df, and nf items. It was in French so I have no idea what I ordered but devoured it. They had frozen packs of croissants as well

Best gluten-free bakery I've ever been to. It is truly outstanding from the service to, the location and the unlimited options. You really do not have to think about any celiac issues. The whole bakery is celiac friendly!! I want to move to Montreal just so I can stay close by to this place. Every time I visit Montreal, I make sure to visit Le Marquis at least three times. The owner and all the employees are always so friendly and actually remembered me from last year. Truly truly the best place for Gluten Free & Celiac. The atmosphere is so cute and welcoming. I highly recommend you go here even if you are not gluten-free. It is so high class decadent, gorgeous pastries.

We stopped in every single day of our trip to Montreal and were blown away by the selection and service. It was so nice to have a dedicated gluten free menu and not have to worry when deciding what to eat. The peace of mind it gave those of us in our group who are gluten free was so nice. Everything was fantastic!

Gluten free. Clean, nice. Good flavours. Food was a little dense. Give it a try. Worth the flavours and expanding our taste buds.

Turkey sandwich, chocolate almond croissant and a decaf latte

Phenomenal food, service, and ambiance! I was in the area for work, and looking for a gluten free option. I was over the moon to find this halal, gluten free option.

Chicken and rice dish and amazing chocolate dessert (all GF)

This place was hands down a highlight of my Montréal food scene experience. The shop itself is very cute and cozy, with just two small tables by the window and a few chairs. The décor is simple, and so are your choices, which honestly works in their favor. When you step inside, you get a direct view of the bakers working their magic, which makes the experience even better. We ordered a hot chocolate, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, and a slice of the Kouign‑Amann. If you like a dark, rich hot chocolate that's not overly sweet, look no further, this is the place. As for the croissants, both the plain and chocolate versions were good but fairly standard. However, the real star was the Kouign‑Amann. It was served warm, perfectly crispy, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. It was so good that when I finished my slice, I went back to the counter hoping for more but they were sold out. To be fair, I arrived around 2pm and they close at 3pm. Despite that, the line moved quickly, and the staff were some of the sweetest people ever. My only regret? I only bought one slice. I'd highly recommend this place, but make sure you get there early if you want to snag a slice of Kouign‑Amann before they sell out.

We both had a "tranche" /slice /portion of the flaky pastry originating from Brittany. While it does not look like the Kouign Amanns I've had before, it definitely tasted fabulous. We were not the only ones who thought so. While we ate our bounty at one of the two open tables, we saw person after person purchase whole galettes, possibly for an upcoming family gathering. The pastry had a sweet and crunchy crust and a buttery interior. Here, it does not resemble a croissant. Instead, the layers of dough were softer than the typical honeycomb structure of a croissant. Speaking of which, my sister also recommends the croissants here, which she used to have regularly when the shop was open more frequently.

I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.

The restaurant didn't provide a high chair for our baby, which was a bit disappointing. The service was good with our waitress checking with us to order and being prompt and attentive. Here is what we ordered: Grilled Cheese O+G (8/10) - the bread with the grilled cheese and caramelized onions were cooked well. The homemade ketchup had a sweet taste to it and was brought out a little colder than room temperature. I probably would have preferred the ketchup/tomato sauce to be a bit warmer. The Chicken Melt (8/10) - this sandwich was pretty big. It had grilled chicken in a creamy sauce, some Cole slaw (actually a lot of Cole slaw) and some dill pickles. The sandwich was a bit messy to eat and I think it had a little too much Cole slaw, but it was a good sandwich, nonetheless. Overall, I good experience with a few suggestions in my review that I think would have made it really great.

The Long Version: So I had never heard of Rossetti before. They didn't exist when I was living in Montreal (the 2000s) and after I left, my husband (who was still my boyfriend at the beginning) and I would return often (at least a few times a year until 2019) and I'm pretty sure they weren't around then. We took a few years hiatus from visiting Montreal and then when we returned in 2024, boom, Rossetti had 4 different locations in the downtown core! What's their origin story? I have no idea. Their website has no "About Us" section. All I know is they opened sometime between 2020 and 2024, lol. I tried their caramel eclair ($5.50). The caramel icing was really tasty, but I found the choux pastry and the custard filling a bit dry. They have cannoli, amaretti, financiers, croissants and tarts. They also have sandwiches and pizza. I was disappointed that they didn't have sfogliatella, my favourite Italian pastry. Oh, they also have coffees and teas. The interior is nice with seating to dine in. Service was neutral. I may return to try another item. Maybe at one of their other locations. Review #16 (2025)

While in Miami last year, my husband, mother-in-law and I became big fans of the Rosetta on lower Collins Ave and then once they opened the one by Lincoln Center in NYC, we began to visit that one often since it's walking distance. After climbing to the Kondiaronk Belvedere on Mont Royal, we decided we needed sustenance on our way back down and we spied Rosetti as we were walking back to our hotel. Since it looked very similar to Rosetta, we decided to stop in and grab a bite. The sandwiches and pastries were on full display and we knew we made a good choice. I had a Pizza Margherita which was huge...I could have shared it. I also had a caramel tart for a sweet treat afterwards. Others in the group had sandwiches and other sweets which they all enjoyed. There are some stools at a counter downstairs and a little more seating upstairs with a few low tables along with some high tops and counters. The ladies who worked there were very nice. We enjoyed our food and think it's a great place for a quick bite that's a bit elevated from traditional fast food.
