I have been a customer of LeMac for three years and I do not regret my decision. The staff is always sweet Ms. Trish is lovely in the front I love chatting with her. When Ms.Trish is not there the nice school girls are nice and friendly. Linda, Joe are truly GEMS! I have severe anxiety and CVS constantly left me without medicine or expected me to just go to another store or wait a week. I walked into LeMac not knowing what to expect, Ms.Christine was so down to earth and friend-able and got straight to the point. LeMac pharmacy is right on McLean Avenue near the Beeline 4 bus and 20 bus. The pharmacists are truly nice and the pharm techs are so understanding. If you want personable, kind, effiencent business leave CVS and come here! The day I left CVS my pressure level decreased and I promise you best decision I made as an adult! This is a mom and pop type pharmacy. I switched to this pharmacy after multiple issues with my regular CVS. From day 1 they have been warm and welcoming. They bent over backwards to fix an error that CVS made and fought for me with my insurance. I will never go anywhere else. read more

I used to like this pharmacy because they were always so nice and pleasant. Things have changed drastically. I came here to get a rapid COVID test ($125). I showed up ten minutes early for my appointment and though there was no one else waiting, the pharmacist and other employees were clearly annoyed. They told me to wait outside. When the person came out to test me, she snapped from four or five feet away for me to give her my date of birth. She ordered me to lower my mask and proceeded to ram the test swab up my nostrils. I thought I had a bloody nose... she then tried to just walk back into the pharmacy. I said 'wait a minute, when can I expect results? Will you call or email???' From start to finish, they could not have been more rude and disrespectful. I will never come back to this pharmacy again. read more

With the constant sprouting up of CVS and Walgreen's (among other chains) locations putting local pharmacy's out of business, this place is among the last in my area with that old school pharmacy feel. Years ago, there were so many mom & pop pharmacy's around, you can have your pick. The customer service was always more personable and if you went there often enough, the pharmacists would even know your name or face. I worked in a pharmacy years ago and it was always a nice place to work - but then came the chain stores that put most of these places out of business. Le-Mac is one of the few left in my general area that's hung on. They're in a good location to where there's not a Duane Reade, Walgreen's, CVS, or Rite-Aid too close (there is a Duane Reade I think close by, but it's garbage). Don't get me wrong, CVS and sometimes Walgreen's is convenient for me for certain things, but a mom & pop pharmacy was always somewhere I preferred to give my business to, because unlike a lot of these chains, they seem to care and work for the business. Walking into Le-Mac, you can already tell the difference, as the shelves are littered with merchandise. The aisles are tall and it just has that 'feel'. The floors creak in some areas, just adding to it's luster of old school. Some of the items here are a little higher priced than they need to be or should be (especially the stuff for kids), but I don't really mind. Some of the staff is ok, not overly friendly, but who is these days. I've gotten a handful of prescriptions from here before and there's never been a problem. The pharmacists I've dealt with were definitely more personable than any I've dealt with in, say, CVS. Part of a dying breed, but it's nice to still be able to have places like this around in this day and age. read more

Huge thank you to the very organized and lovely way the staff and pharmacy at Le-Mac are handling the COVID-19 vaccine, They were so patient with the elderly people, making sure they had chairs, didn't rush them. In fact, I was so anxious about getting my mom in safely that I forgot to feed the meter, the super nice guy at the register noticed it and fed it for me! (I paid him back!) Each and every one of the people we dealt with are heroes, working so very hard to help these isolated seniors get their lives back! One of the best Pharmacy in Westchester. Took my mom for Covid 19 shots and also her Booster. For the Booster we applied online and the process was easy, and couple days later we got a call back with a date and time. The guy on the phone was so helpful. I called in january to sign my mom up for vaccine and two other relatives of mine called also.. they got called back to come in and my mom never got a call.. i even called again and left her name 2 more times. today i see an ad that they have over 1,000 vaccines and no one to give it to.. what happend to my mother.. that is discusting.... you are bad business..what do you pick and choose??? i will never deal with you and am spreading word around how you do bad business read more

Went there about two weeks ago to get a vaccination for the shingles disease. Le-Mac is one of the very few pharmacies that have a supply of the vaccination. It has been a long time since I have receivd the courtesy and the attention to detail that I was exposed to during my brief visit. In a rather humorous fashion, I asked them if I would get a lolly pop for being such patient (LOL). I didn't get the lolly pop, but believe it ot not, I did get a piece of candy. Bottom Line: Nobody likes to be vaccinated, but when it has to be done, I couldn't think of a better place to get it. read more

Grew up in Yonkers my whole life- always went to Le-Mac. I am all for 'Mom and Pop' institutions, as someone in a previous review mentioned- they are a dying breed. That being said, LeMac has been a source of enormous let-down within the past year or so for me. I had an Rx for insulin pens to be filled there and after a day or two, I called to check on their status. For those of you who don't know what insulin pens are, they are used primarily by Type 1 diabetics to... stay... alive. Quite literally, without insulin, I can die. These pens are critical to my health- and LeMac 'didn't have any in stock.' This is what they told me when I called... they then went on to tell me they 'didn't know when they'd have them again.' The fact that this pharmacy KNEW they didn't have insulin on hand and never ONCE thought to give me a heads up or courtesy call so that I could IMMEDIATELY go elsewhere is not only disappointing and disgusting, but it is sad. Had I not called them and checked in, I might have been waiting for over a week for a drug that I depend on to live. What was worse? The pharmacist didn't have anything to say to me... he kind of shrugged his shoulders and said 'well, maybe we will get more stock.. we don't know.' This was not something I wanted to hear.. and sadly, I went to Walgreens and got the pens within a few hours. I gave LeMac one more shot a few weeks back and had an Rx sent there for facial lotion. I called to see if it was ready.. and don't you know it? They were 'out of stock' AGAIN. And they did not care. I am disheartened by these experiences and saddened that I had no choice but to take my business elsewhere. I have warned many family members in that area of Yonkers that LeMac is quaint.. but under- supplied. They can NOT be trusted or depended on to have what you need. read more

My family have been customers of Le-Mac for over 60 years, back in the days when they had a soda fountain counter. At some point the owners opened house accounts in the pharmacy area for their scripts and other OTC items. I can remember Dad getting the monthly bill and one of us had to walk to Le-Mac the next day to give them the check, until last summer that was the monthly ritual. Sadly with the new group running the show that has now ended, confusing my 90 yr old parents who think they did something wrong. I assured them they did nothing wrong, it is just the world is changing and the old days of house accounts and honest handshake deals are over. Now they want your credit card on file... that's not happening! Some of the friendly faces we used to see everyday are no longer there, moved to other branches. The pharmacists we had a rapport with, people who knew their customers and the families, who knew the answers to your questions are gone now. We miss them. It all had the feel of a family the way it was so many years ago when it started. The counter people are all friendly and we will get used to the new people. As long as they don't change to much more we will continue to stay loyal to Le-Mac, even though the insurance company wants them to used their mail-order system. read more
