Small town pharmacy with everything you'd expect from a drug store, plus a cool fish tank. Came in looking for some panty hose, and it's kinda like, why would a random drug store have them? but they did, and the staff was very nice, and helpful. They also have everything else you'd expect to see. Ya, it's not a huge CVS with hella shit, but there are the products that you need and expect to see. It's nice too see that they're are still small, mom and pop shops somewhere in the world. read more

One of the pharmacists did not like my tone and spitefully charged me for a free prescription. Took 4 trips to get everything settled, he hung up on me several times. My husband went in and mysteriously all the problems with my transaction were no longer a problem. As a woman this was so offensive. I will never trust them with my prescriptions again. I was a customer for 3 years and in one conversation I became an international birth control thief trying to scam them out of $37. Who needs this from a pharmacy? Never again will I go into that store. Stay away if you don't want unnecessary headaches. read more

Greenleaf has been our pharmacy for ever, since we moved to the Rivertowns and decided we'd rather patronize the local drug store instead of the large chain store outlets. And we've never regretted that decision. The varied and somewhat unique products on the shelves set this store apart. But the attention to detail and the personal care offered as well as the courtesy and the professionalism displayed by the staff, set the store above others and are features rarely (if ever) evident at the chain stores. read more

You'll see hard-to-find items displayed in a user-friendly way with lovely employees, including the owner, Ed, come to you, asking if you need assistance. There's even an ice cream counter!! If Wally Cleaver had wandered in with The Beaver, I wouldn't have blinked an eye. Treat yourself to Old Fashioned Customer Service and leave the mall pharmacies behind. I believe in supporting local businesses, but Greenleaf needs to up its game. When they gave me the wrong medication (actually the right medication but the wrong dosage) and I returned to the store to point it out to them, they weren't particularly apologetic. It was as if they'd sold me the wrong size shoelace rather than made a serious mistake. Also, the front desk is staffed by a revolving door of young people, some of whom have good manners, some of whom don't, which makes me wonder what kind of training Greenleaf gives them in customer service. (Recently I stood behind an old man who was having trouble understanding how to use the credit card machine, and the employee was smirking and rolling their eyeballs in exasperaton.) Bill, the pharmacist I've interacted with the most, is a pleasant, friendly man. But otherwise, there's a lot of room for improvement. read more

This place is very good the pharmacists i think his name was bill was a pleasure to deal with he answered all my questions and even called to let me know when the medication that I needed would be ready. I love that they carry a huge variety of more natural and holistic supplements as well, the people there are super friendly and helpful. After a big chain pharmacy was closed inexplicably for a week, I decided to support this local business. I called the pharmacy to check if they had my medications in stock. I was given a brush-off answer "just come in, I'm sure we have them" I called again it was incredibly important that I get my medications that day. I gave more specific details and they said "yeah we have that." They said they would have it ready for me by the end of the day. However, when I got there, they didn't have what I needed in stock and acted like it wasn't a big deal. They said they could order it and have it ready the next day which is the exact opposite of "yeah we have that." When I told the pharmacist that I called twice to verify that it was in stock he said "I don't know what you want me to say." An apology would be a great place to start. Unreliable and condescending. Skipping a day of medication is a big deal and not something I take lightly. Really don't understand how a pharmacist wouldn't get that. The search for a halfway decent pharmacy in this area continues. read more

Like most people, I do my best to support the local economy. I've been a Hastings resident for almost 6 years now. I never quite noticed how expensive Greenleaf was until I tried to fill my monthly prescription with them over the summer. They insisted that it was a top tier medication and that my co-pay was $35, even though I've been getting the same medication at Duane Reade for the past 2 years with $0 co-pay because my insurance covers the entire amount. They kept insisting that I had a co-pay when in truth I didn't since this was covered under my insurance. I did what any sensible human being would do & took my prescription with me back to Duane Reade in the city. Where lo & behold the prescription had $0 co-pay. Also, they charge the highest co-pay for GENERIC MEDICATION. I had surgery last week and had no choice, but to fill my prescription locally. I gave them a coupon from my own physician for the medication & they refused it. The woman in the back was rude, argumentative and could care less about customers. Also, they've made mistakes in the past & have never bothered to apologize. My elderly neighbor voiced the same complaint that they are incompetent, expensive, rude and constantly have issues with insurance claims which they claim is not going thru. However, if you go to Duane Reade or Walgreens there is no such issue. Sorry to say it guys, but take your business elsewhere. Avoid at all costs. Drive to the Walgreens in Yonkers. read more

Let me preface by saying that I try to support small local businesses whenever possible. My husband and I have been using this pharmacy for years. The store itself is nice and it has the little smoothie bar and a good variety of drugstore (shampoos, hand creams, lotions etc) items. My gripe is with the highly unprofessional and unfriendly staff and the way they chose to treat their customers and the fact that when they make a mistake they do not even have the courtesy to apologize. Here are some examples. I had 5 prescriptions that needed to be filled for my husband and myself. I came in early on a midweek day at 9 am and was told that it would take 40 minutes. There were two other people in the store. Ok, I could arrange my day to come back before work and pick them up. I had one prescription that I needed to get a refill for. The last time I had filled it, one of the employees had explained to me that the doctor had prescribed a higher quantity than my insurance company would allow for a month. I could just come back and pick up when needed. Turns out that when I did try to do just that I was told that there is no refill. I didn't bring the bottle in at the time, but checked later it clearly states that it has a refill. Anyway, that wouldn't be a big deal, but what I truly object to is that medical conditions and prescriptions are private and for the pharmacist to shout out my personal information from his elevated position (if you know the store layout, you know what I mean) and not to have the courtesy to step down to the counter, was humiliating. I didn't argue, because I was embarrassed. "You bought this prescription in April, you don't expect me to remember this months later". No, I don't, but I do expect you to keeps records. Finally, I got our other prescriptions and left. When I checked the prescriptions later, I realized that they had messed up one of the labels and printed my name on one of my husband's prescriptions. It happened to be a regular prescriptions so I realized by the shape that it was his. I called and informed them of the error and instead of an apology, I got to hear: "Fine, you can come in and pick a new label." This is not the first time we have had issues with this pharmacy. In the past we had them tell us: "oh, we only had 20 put of your 30 pills, we tried to call you, but we didn't have your number. Just come back and we'll make up the difference." You have our numbers for several years and they haven't changed. You have called us in the past. We have overlooked this kind of stuff in the past, but this is the last time now. I rarely let something like this get to me, but it's now several days later and I decided to take the time and write the review, because I am so disturbed by their carelessness and unprofessionalism. read more

I have to piggyback on the concerns of another reviewer who gave this place one star. They make a lot of errors and they don't apologize. In fact, I just called to express my concerns about some problems with two prescriptions I had recently, and the manager I spoke with was defensive and even a little argumentative. That's why I'm posting. That was the last straw. About a year ago I had some difficulties with insurance issues at this pharmacy. My insurance wouldn't go through because the pharmacy had mixed up my birth date with my daughter's, and even though I corrected it several times with staff there, the correction failed to take. Maybe someone failed to enter it in the computer. I would come to pick up the prescriptions and they wouldn't be ready in an hour, as I'd been told, and the pharmacy wouldn't have called me to tell me there was a problem. I'd have a toddler in tow and a long wait. They finally ironed that out. More recently, in two separate instances, I was given the wrong number of pills -- fewer than the doctor prescribed. The bag said a certain number of pills was inside but when I counted the bottle was short -- once by two pills and once by 12 pills. Both times they corrected it but without apology for miscounting. When I brought this up to the manager on the phone just now she informed me that a machine counts the pills, suggesting that her staff wasn't to blame. That's astonishing. Why didn't she say, Geez, that's troubling -- if the machine is getting it wrong we will make sure to doublecheck it? I'm so disappointed. I love that this place is local and they carry nice toiletries, etc. It seems like they're getting in their own way. read more

Chaos, Chaos everywhere. There were about 10 people all trying to work in a small area but only 1 seemed to be an actual licensed pharmacist. They all kept yelling over each other and making hectic movements despite there being only 2 costumers in the whole place. The young woman who seemed mostly concerned with flipping her hair into the medicine and constantly checking her appearance was extremely rude to one of the costumers who had a free fill and a card explaining it, but without even listening to the costumer the woman grabbed the medicine bag out of their hands and abruptly left while making loud grunts of annoyance. Anyway it took them all about 5 hours (yes I am not exaggerating) and 4 trips there to get together a simple anti acidic stomach medicine (which they were asking $45 for and you can get for less than $15 anywhere else). I'd suggest to save your time and money and go to a much more organized and calmer place. There's another nice small all natural pharmacy down the street, or even try the bigger stores (better than dealing with the people in this place). read more

Greenleaf is a wonderful Pharmacy. I had an Australian Terrier with diabetes who required nslin injections 2x a day. The price of insulin escalated to as much as 200.00 for a 10ml bottle. The owner was so kind and sold it to me at his cost. What ever my need he has always found some way to accommodate me even to the point of getting me a coupon reimbursement for very expensive eye drops. The service is excellent, the people friendly and kind. I cannot say enough. read more

Really convenient neighborhood pharmacy. I've lived in hastings for about 18 months, and i can say that they have truly made my life easier. If I can't get back from work until after business hours, they leave my prescriptions with the diner, if I'm out of refills they follow up with my doctors, no questions asked. I have been going to Greenleaf for 10+ years and have always been pleased with their service, follow-through and care for their customers. Through 200+ refills I cannot remember a single error. They go out of their way to manage any insurance issues and provide sound advice to my health questions concerning my family. This is the nicest pharmacy I've ever used. Possibly they've had some problems in the past, but I've never experienced them. They are courteous, timely and friendly, and the exact opposite of your typical Walgreen's experience. I should note that I mostly have prescription-related experience with them, but have purchased medical products there when necessary. This is an excellent local business, which cannot be said of all stores in the Hastings area. read more
