It is located on the water…read more At this location during the warm months you will find a good outdoor cafe called begood located under the terrace, all owned by the same person. They also have a special events business called Le Deck. I finally was able to visit this restaurant for the first time today. It was a grey rainy day, and I was craving some seafood. This restaurant prides itself in focusing on local and seafood. This is a bit pricey for dinner, but the plat du jour at lunch time during the week is a great deal at only 24 CHF. The plat du jour menu changes weekly, and mainly focuses on their main speciality, fish. First of all, even on a grey rainy day, this restaurant's small indoor area is very cheerfully lit by natural lighting due to the many large windows. On a clear day, the view would be amazing from here of the lake and mountains, and in the summer the large deck area would be even better to eat on. Of course, I took the plat du jour for Friday, which came with a green salad starter and main entree. The salad had a fantastic tangy dressing, and the fish (I can't remember which kind) was amazing. It is hard to find good seafood in Switzerland, and this was cooked perfectly. Even the bread that came with it was perfect. I also ordered the apple dessert from the menu to end things, and it was delicious. The salted caramel ice cream served with it was fantastic. I should have asked if it was something I could purchase in a store. To top it off, the service was very friendly, and the chef even asked me as I was leaving how my meal was and what I thought. Overall a great seafood lunch experience. TIP: If you are coming at the lunch hour, and have more than 1 person in your group, be sure to reserve.

What a disaster. We arrived at the restaurant just around shift change in the afternoon and to make…read morea very long and painful story short we ordered a special Swiss dish (3 of them) with cheese and wine and the waiter told us that it was going to take at least 20 minutes or so to get it prepared. We said no problem we'd wait on the patio and so we waited around the corner trying to steer clear of all of the smokers. For the next 50 minutes or so we waited and waited and waited some more and nobody showed up. There was a new waitress walking around and so we flagged her down and asked her for some additional drinks while we waited we figured that it couldn't be much longer to get the meal. I eventually went over there and asked the waitress how long it was going to be and she said that our order had been canceled about an hour ago. We had no idea why this would be but she said there were some miscommunication on shift change and that the only thing they could cook for us right now was a ham sandwich or maybe some spaghetti. To be fair she was very nice and apologetic and she really wanted to do anything she could to make it up but the fact is we just ran out of time and I told her that it was disappointing because I had spoken to two different waiters in detail about our order. Anyway kudos to her for trying her best but shame on the management for allowing the lax treatment of three customers who are obviously sitting there waiting.

I loved the simplicity of the menu because they have their specialty and when you make it the best, no need to mess with the rest. I ordered the homard entree with homemade chips (fries) and spinach with garlic. The beer I had was a Calvinus White and it was top notch and paired so well with the homard and hollandaise sauce. The chips were some of the best I've ever had anywhere. Food in Switzerland is generally expensive, but this meal was fairly reasonable even on the spectrum of high end prices you will find in Geneva, and the food and service is excellent. They were very friendly and kind since I was dining alone, and I had a great conversation with the two women sitting next to me. I love the ambiance of this restaurant, especially the industrial looking chandelier made of Edison light bulbs. This restaurant is a definite must try in Geneva!! Order extra hollandaise, it's that good!!!

Fortunately, the waiter was able to seat us at the bar without reservations. At least 2 other groups were turned away after us since there was no room left at the bar, and all the tables were reserved. Next time we will definitely make a reservation especially for a Friday night. The servers were all very friendly and checked in on us frequently (almost made me feel like I was back in the states!). I almost ordered the lobster dinner but the Yelp reviews made me curious about the lobster roll so I opted for that instead. Husband got the burger. He's not a seafood fan, so this place luckily had a burger and steak option for him. Both of our dishes came with a small salad (yummy sesame dressing), cole slaw (tasty not too much mayo like at home) and a generous serving of fries (so tasty and so crispy...probably the best fries I've had in quite a while!). I loved my lobster roll. Like the other reviews mentioned, it has a vinegary-herby taste, no mayo. So delish and it was much more food than I could finish. Husbands burger was also tasty. It was cooked medium rare like he asked, and there was a hint of BBQ sauce or something I couldn't figure out what it was. Definitely different from the regular burgers we have at home. We each had a glass of wine and the bill came out to 61CHF. Overall, great experience, tasty food, reasonable prices (remember we're in Switzerland after all).
