I have been struggling with my hair for years, ever since I got a rlly unfortunate & accidental hair cut by a coworker. It has made me so self conscious at times. I recently saw Andrea May Gonzalez to add several cool toned blonds to my mostly white hair for dimension. She is very friendly but that is where the positive experience ends. After much discussion Andrea picked out a picture she thought would work best. However, instead of using several color as promised, she used just one and too much of it, leaving me with a muddy dark blonde except for the white roots she completely missed at the top of the crown. When she was done I commented that it needed more light tones so instead of fixing it she booked an appointment at a later date for color correction at my expense. I was stunned and left without saying anything else. My bad. The next day I accompanied my daughter to her hair stylist and showed her the picture of what my hair was supposed to look like. She said at least 3 ashy blonde shades should have been carefully woven in with my natural color and then toned but now it would require color correction before starting over. Afterwards we went shopping at Ulta and I spoke to the stylist there who gave the exact same opinion. I then relayed this info to Andrea asking how we could make this right. She told me she would contact me early the next morning and get me in. She didn't contact me until almost noon and said she would not have time to fit me in as she was leaving town but would contact me again in 5 days and try to get me in. At this point I was done and said I wanted to discuss a refund. Without any further conversation she instantly refunded me $75 of the $416 I paid (barely more than she collected in tip). I told her this was an unacceptable resolution at which point she just ghosted me. Throughout this process she repeatedly touted her expertise, professionalism, and the luxury salon experience. I've already covered her so called expertise. With regard to luxury, the only thing luxurious was the price. She occupies half a small cottage that it cramped, cluttered, poorly lit, and not particularly clean. If you arrive while another client is still in the chair you are asked to go down the tight hallway and sit on a small hard bench by the bathroom. As far as professionalism goes, Andrea has a punctuality problem and what professional ghosts a client rather than have a mature conversation to resolve an issue? read more

On Friday I had a appt with stylist Cari for root touch up and unfortunately also a color correction that was previously done a couple months ago. My hair is very platinum and I've had a hard time getting past stylists to understand "how blonde" I prefer my color... Cari got it perfect the first time! The color was blended perfect and seamless. Cari listened to my every want and delivered without exception. She also gave me great advice on how to keep the integrity of my hair. I also read some great reviews online. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't a good one. Maybe these employees were having a bad day, so due to that I will be forgiving enough to leave out their names. I will however offer a bit of friendly advice. Since there are plenty of hard working hair dressers out there, customers never have to settle. Came back to Amanda last week, and have consistently received a compliment about my hair. Every. Single. Day. since I've had it colored. It's beautiful. I told her I have been trying to grow my hair out for a long time and just wanted a trim and she gave me exactly what I was looking for.
