This is the cutest little salon. The people who work there are so nice and welcoming. As someone who has gotten some bad haircuts in the past, this is a place I trust and they do a great job of listening and giving you what you want. Salon 955 - Hair Salons Near Me - Lafayette, California

I have been coming to Erin at Salon 955 for the last year or so and it's the first time in my life I can say I have a regular hair girl! She does awesome highlights, but her haircuts are the best I've ever had. Anywhere! I'm really a rubberband and ponytail girl at heart, and that's the easiest way to keep my hair out of my face when I'm working, but she is my motivation to actually use nice products on it so that it feels great and looks healthier, and now I'm spending more time styling it and wearing it down occasionally too! She is truly a specialist at layering fine, straight hair, and making it look full of body and depth. I love when my friends compliment my hair and someone notices right away every time she adds new highlights. I also love referring friends to her. AND when I had almost given up on the perfect birthday gift for mom this year, it dawned on me that a super nice hair appointment is a great way to spoil someone you love. And so now mom is a regular too! The highlights in her red hair look natural are the prettiest I've ever seen on her. I love this cute salon and all the great conversations I get to have with Erin every 7 weeks or so! read more

WOW. Kelsey blew it out of the park! I found this salon through Yelp, and needed to make a last minute appointment before my business trip. I told her what I was generally looking for & gave her free reign for everything else. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she is very sweet & the service was in my price range. I will definitely be back. Thank you Kelsey! read more

I've been seeing Erin and Lisette here for over 10 years. It's such a beautiful salon and the products offered are awesome. It's so nice going to get my hair done and been able to catch up with Erin and Lisette, but also be able to bring my laptop and get work done when needed. They totally understand how it feels to work remote and are super cool when I need to jump on a call or just email away. Prices are reasonable and parking is easy as well, which is not common in downtown Lafayette. read more

Salon 955 - Went more blonde for summer, I love it! Thanks Lisette!! - Hair Salons Near Me - Lafayette, California

I recently moved to the Moraga area and was looking for a new hairdresser. After scouring Yelp reviews and consulting with friends who didn't quite love their hairstylists in the area. I decided to give Salon 955 a chance. I went with the first available appointment and was lucky to get Erin, the new co-owner of the salon and she was fantastic. She was friendly, engaging, and so knowledgable about my hair. The length, color, and conversation was absolutely perfect and I can't wait to go back. read more

Got my hair done with Kelsey and she was so amazing! Not only did she make my hair beautiful, but she was also so kind and fun to talk to! I'm so obsessed with how my hair came out and I can't wait to get it done by Kelsey again in a couple months read more

What a wonderful experience! I cannot be more ecstatic! Whooping 5 stars! For a new look, I wanted my hair dyed dark purple. Having only had my hair dyed pink or red, I thought purple would be an interesting color and would suit me. After an endless search on Yelp for hair salons/stylists and comparing their prices, I decided to check out Sherilynn Jade Salon. I am not only satisfied with my new hair cut and color, but I am appreciative of the attentiveness and care of my stylist, Mary. The overall customer service was excellent. When I called to inquire about this salon, I told them about the Groupon I had seen. It cost $68 for a hair cut and color that was worth $134. I was going to buy it then, but the receptionist told me that I could buy it at the salon. The receptionist was also very accommodating and I was able to schedule an appointment the very next day (last Sat)! I arrived early to the salon. The salon is in a small looking house but they have several stylists that work there at different shifts. They don't really have much of a waiting area, but there are some chairs near the cashier. Ten minutes before my appointment, I met with my stylist Mary for a quick consultation. I showed her two pictures of how I wanted my hair to be like. One picture was of the hair style I wanted but it had different shades of very light highlighted purple hair which I did not want. The second picture was of the darker purple hue that I wanted. Mary was patient, listened to me and clarified what I wanted. Because I wanted some highlights she told me that would be an extra $40 (that was not included in the Groupon) to bleach my hair, and gave me time to think about it. Overall, my experience with Mary was superb! She took great care of me, with great delicacy and gentleness as she worked on my hair. She told me everything she was going to do; the amount of time it would take, and offered me re-fills of water. First, she bleached my hair, then after shampoo and rinse, cut my hair, and lastly colored my hair. In all the times she shampooed, conditioned and rinsed my hair, she asked me if the water temperature was ok. When my hair was finally dried, she let me look at my hair outside to see how the purple came out when the sun hit it. It was perfect! I am so happy with my new hair color and I definitely recommend Mary as she is a superb stylist. I give a 5 star recommendation to Sherilynn Jade Salon for all your hair cut, coloring needs! Come here and you will have a great experience and get exactly what you asked for. I sure did! read more

Wow! Jessica is the best with blondes. I came to her with SO much damage and she was able to really listen to my needs and somehow managed to make my hair even lighter with NO breakage. She's also super sweet and easy to talk to! I will recommend her til the cows come home! read more

Jessica did an excellent full highlight on my very fine, long and previously partially highlighted hair. I was so disappointed after going to Stem in WC and spending a completely insane amount of money for a very blah and strange partial highlight. Jessica was able to take this and go a completely new direction, giving me a tone I've always asked for and no one else has ever been able to do. (Cooler, pale blonde, rather than warm/golden highlights.) My hair now has great variety, depth and feels just as healthy as before, even after a full highlight. She somehow kept my own color without it looking fake and streaky and kept enough of the brown to prevent an overly ombre look. She also listened--she took the highlights all the way to the roots, which I asked for, whereas I was told at Stem that is not in style and makes your color not last as long. The price was right, and I am SO happy with how this turned out! Jessica really knows what she is doing and is a blonde expert! Oh and others have mentioned this, but she is also super sweet and easy to talk to - I am not great at coming up with conversation topics for hours on end, but she made everything easy and I was never uncomfortable. The salon itself is nothing fancy, really small and pretty dated, but it does not matter to me if I get an awesome stylist who gives you amazing hair. read more

Last night, I got my hair cut by Mary, and I can't recommend her enough. She was super sweet and easy to talk to, and she did a great job with my hair. It had been about 11 months since my last cut (thanks COVID), and she brought my hair back to life! The cut was also incredibly well priced - just $78, about half of what I paid in the City for worse haircuts. The salon just reopened on Monday for indoor services, and it's taking COVID precautions very seriously. Lots of sanitizing and making sure everything is clean, and they even take temperatures on the way in. Overall, very impressed with the Salon and with Mary. I will definitely be going back for future hair needs. read more

Okay, I'm just obsessed with my own hair! Can I say that? I went to Kelsey with a very trusting Groupon after just moving to the area. She updated my highlights and took so much time perfecting them- I had never had such a great and care filled job done on my hair. It was so good that I actually didn't need feel like I even need to come back because she made them blend so well... so I went back about 9 months later (longest since highschool I have ever had a gap of not being in the salon at some point) anyway... I decided on the way there that I wanted to go back to my natural color. She collaborated with other gals in the salon from a single photo I showed her and showed me a some swatches and I could not be happier with the color and the cut. She is just amazing! I will keep coming back because of the care I get at Sherilynns salon and because Kelsey is just really good at hair. read more

I purchased a Groupon after seeing many positive reviews on yelp. I brought in a picture of the cut that I wanted with only 1 criteria, that my hair will still be long enough to tie back in a pony tail. After the consultation, I couldn't wait to see the end result, so I closed my eyes and let her do her thing. When she told me she had finished, I about almost flipped out of my chair. My hair was turned into a 1970's bob and not nearly long enough to tie back in a pony tail. Aside from the length, it was so uneven with one side being even shorter the the other. The only way it can be fixed is to go even shorter. It will take at least 4-6 months to grow it out. I want my money back!!! read more

I recently moved to Lafayette, and was looking for a new hair dresser. I found Sherilynn Jade Salon on yelp, and with the great reviews made an appointment online (easy!). I had the pleasure of having Stacey do my hair - HOW AWESOME! Her attention to detail and sense of humor made me relax and trust her. Seriously, my hair looks FIERCE! I'm sure all the stylists at Sherilynn Jade are amazing, but I'm only going to Stacey! read more

Woohoo, as good as it gets so say this 5 star review. Spencer cut my hair and not only did it look good when i left the salon i have been happy how it has looked when i have styled it as well. As you can tell from my previous reviews, I'd rather go hungry than have horrible looking hair. For years, I've been trying to obtain the hair color and cut I see in my head but can never seem to find a picture of in magazines. In comes Lindsay Olson... After trying to explain my needs and wants for my hair, she began to formulate my color. After all this processing, cutting, and anticipation; magic happened. I left the salon with a great cut and an amazingly natural hair color that I was truly happy with. My hair had dimension, shine, and this crazy thing called body(never knew that existed before). It has been over seven months since my initial visit with Lindsay. Since that day, not a single person has put an ounce of color or cut a millimeter on this hair of mine. Do yourself the biggest favor and see Lindsay, you and your hair will be utterly grateful. read more

There's only one word to describe Kylie--brilliant! I've been to so many stylists, none of whom have been able to give me the color I wanted. One word: TORI. I have extremely dry, damaged, unruly impossible curly hair. I can NEVER find a good hair dresser, who knows what they're doing and doesn't send me home with an ugly mess! I saw Tori yesterday morning here, and she was absolutely amazing. Not only friendly, professional and outgoing- but she knows how to do hair! She did a ton of foil, with new highlights, color, and an amazing cut. I had showed her a couple pictures of exactly how I wanted the cut, and she got it dead on! About the color? All I did was give her a brief outline of what I wanted to do, and not only did she get that perfectly, but it looks better than I could ever imagine. She also did a deep conditioning, which has really brought my hair back to life. My hair hasn't looked this awesome in years. GREAT WORK TORI, I would recommend everybody going to see her for your hair- really, not even joking. Oh- and getting a head massage during shampoo time always rules. read more

Everyone in this salon is absolutely wonderful, but Kylie is my stylist and I love her! She has helped me through a few styles over the past year going from long, blonde, bangs and layers to now a pixie cut that I LOVE! She is amazing with color and cuts, supportive if you're feeling adventurous but also honest about what will work for you. Aside from her talent, Kylie is also just a fun person to be around while she works her magic on your hair. Go see Kylie! :) I also need to thank Vanessa at the salon for the moral support with my recent cut too. She was there cheering on both Kylie and I when I chopped everything off. Everyone is sweet, supportive and helpful whether you are their client or not. Great atmosphere and great people! read more

I moved to CA from MN and had some trouble finding a new hairdresser that I could trust. After a few attempts I finally found Stacey. She is WONDERFUL!! I am in the process of growing and lightening my hair (after cutting it into a bob and dying it dark on a whim last year) She was able to subtly add blonde back in without making me look like a skunk. I took a huge gamble booking my wedding hair and make-up without a test run (I like to live on the edge and am from out of the area) and was so relieved with my results. Baleria was amazing! She sent me text updates leading up to the wedding, assured me that she had been practicing and the day of showed me my options along the way. I typically am an au natural girl but her make-up suggestions really made me look like the bride in all my photos. My ONLY criticism would be for the other stylist that kept coming over during my appointment to ask if she could borrow blush and lipstick--not very professional. You do your make-up in your space, with your make-up and not on our time. Baleria was very polite though and kept me calm as I was getting antsy. Also, this is the first time through the wedding planning process that I was PLEASANTLY surprised at the register. Would definitely recommend to all my Bay Area friends. read more

I was so excited to find Jessica! I have spent so much money on my hair in SF (over $400 a pop.) Since my sister and brother live in the east bay and she came highly recommended to me by a friend, I thought I'd give it a try. (I've been traumatized by a bad hair cut in the past that took me 2 years to grow out! so I was pretty wary to try someone new.) If you'd like to have amazing hair while spending a couple of hours in a salon that makes you feel like you're home, then Lafayette's Salon 955 is the best place for you. Everyone makes sure you're well-cared for and is just one of the reasons to be pampered at 955. Even the shampoo bowls are attached to a lounge type of chair that could result in a little nap while getting a wonderful massaging shampoo. My personal stylist is the amazing Jessica. Compliments abound about my haircuts and color treatments every time I'm out, from the grocery store to restaurants and even to the dentist. Hair is an important and defining part of many of us. I love this place! Anyone who knows me knows I am very picky about my hair and I want it done right. I had been going to the same lady for 15 years but she retired and so I had to find a new place. A co-worker of mine recommended I go see Tera K. She is absolutely amazing, I have been going to her over a year now and I couldn't be more happy about my hair! When I first started going to her I was dyed blond and my hair seemed like it wouldn't grow and it would just break. I started making my appointments regularly (every 8 weeks) and she was able to clean it up and now it's healthier than it's ever been and is finally growing again and it grows fast now. I have also gotten my mom to go see her. My mom is a brunette but loves red hair and she had always been nervous about going red because she wanted the right shade of red and didn't want it to look fake. When she started to see Tera she finally felt comfortable to go red and she loves it and she gets lots of compliments on her hair. Even my dad likes it and he doesn't do change well. I recommend this place to everyone, the staff is friendly and Tera is just absolutely amazing, I guarantee you will leave happy and will defiantly want to keep going back! read more
