This is one of my favorite bakery in town. Fast service, just don't expect for nuts free pastries. Some of my constant are lemon scone, peanut butter cookie and donuts red bean. make sure you know what to order since server gives no time to pick or suggest anything in the menu. Plenty of parking because it's located to businesses. Overall, it's a gem bakery in town.

Parking: This French Japanese cafe shares a large parking lot with Stater Brothers and many other businesses, parking is not a problem as there are many spots. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: This cafe/bakery has a cute warm welcoming atmosphere, it isn't too small or cramped. The cute hedgehog theme runs throughout and it's so charming. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available once you've picked the pastries and drinks you like.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their days of operations and hours are not ideal at best and looking on their instagram, they close for holidays or need extra days of prep once in a while so check there before you come in. Food: I mean just look at the other reviews...they speak for themselves. Everything is on a first come first serve basis so do keep that in mind because of their limited batches per week. We have gotten a matcha croissant, pistachio croissant (2nd best), chocolate croissant, espresso croissant (1st best), some chocolate filled cream pastry, and have never been let down. The quality is always there and does not disappoint. Service: All of the workers are extremely friendly and helpful in making your selection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall: Le Hérisson is a charming warm cafe and bakery that stands out for both its quality pastries and its cozy cute atmosphere. While the limited hours and first come first serve availability can make planning a visit tricky, the experience once you're there feels well worth it. The pastries are consistently high quality and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The overall vibe makes it an enjoyable spot to slow down and treat yourself[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Half eaten lemon brioche, matcha and strawberry milk. Perfection!

An ABSOLUTE GEM in Simi. Pastries, drinks, atmosphere, service... all on point. I'm obsessed with this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You walk in and it feels like you are transported to a Ghibli dream cafe. Small and cozy, cute cottage-core hedgehog figurines with mushrooms adorn the entrance table where all things hedgehog are displayed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's the small touches here that show what thought was put into this place; like fresh strawberry mint water (or other fruit water offered) and always soft French jazz bossanova playing in the background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is amazing, despite never seeming to have a lull- there's always a good stream of people at any hr of the day filtering in. So let's get to the food. My family has been multiple times now, and Every pastry was a sheer delight. Not too sweet! Just right. The pastry chef making these has meticulously crafted a curated array of fun unique options that seem to change often. Drinks offerings are organic drip coffee, teas, matcha and also hot Belgium chocolate or iced Belgium chocolate. Things we tried: Iced strawberry matcha with homemade strawberry jam Iced Chai milk tea Lemon brioche Strawberry curd brioche Curry ball (crispy outside delicious spiced lentil inside) Maple pecan croissant Cherry danish Pear danish Curry pie Chocolate orange silk pie Every one was stunning. This is an adorable date idea, cute morning or mid day treat, or for kids- I brought my nephew and he can't stop raving about it.

I am grateful to have a bakery like this in Simi Valley. Everything tastes wonderful including the drinks and the prices are good for what you get. There are no cons at all for this place except for how much money I can spend here- that's dangerous! But truly, it's amazing, see you guys again soon. P.S. the strawberry matcha is haunting my dreams; just too good !

This place has been on my list to try for awhile! I'm glad I finally made it to enjoy a place that is surely enjoyed by many as people keep coming and going with boxes of delight! I'm impressed with how many different bake goods this small bakery puts out! Not only can you get sweet, but they also have savory delights! Plus arrange of drinks, including matcha from Japan and teas from France! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tight seating inside but plenty of tables! One table can be enjoyed outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music is pumping out French tunes and other soft gentle songs![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Super friendly serve that was kind in helping me choose from all the delightful choices! Definitely a place worth visiting.

I was introduced to this cafe by a friend and I'm really glad she did! Their pastries are absolutely delicious, I especially like the fruit croissant with the cherry on top. A plus too for the cherry being a real pitted cherry versus a maraschino cherry! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is also cute and has plenty of seating as well as natural sunlight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Additionally, there's quite a bit of parking since it's in a little shopping mall. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to grab a quick snack or appetizer/desserts for a large group!

Happened to be in the area and heard about this bakery. They have a large variety of breads. Tried quiet a few items since likely won't be in this area soon. 1. Popeye* 2. Caprese danish* 3. Curry bread* 4. Egg salad bread 5. Jalapeño bacon bread* 6. Spinach bacon quiche 7. Espresso almond croissant 8. Pistachio croissant 9. Matcha almond croissant 10. Lemon brioche 11. Donut 12. Cherry danish 13. Yuzu lemon drink* 14. Matcha strawberry drink The drinks are pretty big for the price compared to L.A. Felt the savory breads were better than the sweet especially if you crisp them up in the oven. Overall 3.5

Fabulous. The egg salad brioche and Popeyes brioche were delicious and satisfying. All the sweets we got were top notch phenomenal. The coffee was smooth non acidic and when I iced it later it was great. Staff super friendly

Le Herisson my favorite bakery in Simi Valley. They've perfected their Strawberry Croissant and make admirable attempts with their drinks and other pastries. They're not without their faults, but my love for that perfectly sweet Strawberry Croissant lets me look past them. The staff aren't very talkative, but you can tell almost all of them are sweet and happy to help. There is one staff member that I try to avoid. She isn't rude. Just grouchy and not the type of interaction I want when I'm excited for a sweet treat. It's rare to find a bakery with quality pastries, plenty of parking, and reasonable prices. Le Herisson still seems to be flying under the radar, but don't wait too late in the day to pick up your Strawberry Croissants because they always sell out!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The aroma as soon as you walk in is just heavenly! It's what dreams are made of lol. Super fresh and warm, you feel as if nothing could get better than this.... UNTIL you take your first bite!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I thought everything looks stunning, the staff continued to bring out more items and placed on display.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went to order twice. Contemplated a third to be honest. Amazing variety from savory to sweet - I'm sure there's something for everybody here. The customer service matches the presentation and quality of the pastries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is super cute and cozy, filled with hedge hogs and delicate design.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Numerous tables and a bar top by the window. I believe there are tables outside as well, but it was way too cold that morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do have a drink menu! I ordered an iced hojicha with oat milk. Unfortunately, it was lacking and tasted a majority of the oat milk. Next time I visit, I'll be opting for a latte or matcha instead. I ordered the pistachio croissant and the Popeyes to eat there. To go, I ordered the mixed berry danish and the white chocolate matcha croissant. Pistachio croissant (4/5) - beautiful and just the perfect crisp/flakiness. I wish it was a bit more potent for pistachio flavor but it was well balanced and truly enjoyable. Decent portion as well. Popeye (4/5) - great breakfast option with spinach and egg. It won't fill you up, but it's a nice item if you're on the go or want to balance your sweet tooth. Mixed berry danish (3/5) - fresh berries were phenomenal and the structure held up well all day. However, the custard or whatever filled the pastry was a little flavorless. The texture was nice though. White children matcha croissant (4/5) - beautiful paired to compliment each other. I like that it was dipped on one side because if it was covered any more with chocolate, it would be too overpowering and wouldn't allow any of the matcha to come through. The pearls were cute and fun to eat. The matcha was not overly sweet and I really liked that. I can't wait to go back and eat my weight in fresh pastries!

I haven't seen an actual good bakery in a while! This one was very impressive! I always travel to Japan and has top tier bakeries in the world! So when I found this place, it just gave me those vibes every time I went to a Japanese bakery. I couldn't believe they have legit Japanese pastries but everything looked so delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere felt like I was in a French bakery. From the music, to what I believe was the owner in her chiefs outfit and of course, all of the different pastries.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's so many choices that I would have to come back several times to taste everything. Also, the coffee was great too! I've been to other bakeries and the coffee is always water down. Overall, service was great, we devoured all of the food and left nothing behind and can't get more legit than this place. Definitely coming back to try other pastries!

    Lemon and mango pastry options.

Wow - Le Herisson is still sporting a five star rating with almost 300 reviews. That's well-deserved high praise from the local community and visitors lucky enough to have found their way to this French/Japanese bakery cafe. It's a true gem for Simi. They're only open Thursdays through Sundays, so you need to plan your bakery fix for those days. Their pastries are Outstanding, specially any of them involving the flaky perfection of croissants, or croissant-adjacent offerings. We took our sister-in-law and two nieces when they were in town in late July. They were duly impressed. So much so that the next morning, SIL was up early and made a run over to the cafe for a specialty coffee and brought home pastries for all. Yay! Dear Hubby and I go over at least once or twice a month. We prefer to eat there, if we have the time. The petite tables placed closely together remind me of cafes / bistros that I've experience in Europe. DH has been making runs to Le Herisson lately on game days. He'll pick up an eggy pastry for each of us, and then something sweet to share. Today I was blown away by their egg salad on a super-fresh croissant. The egg salad is made with Japanese mayo, an extremely light interpretation of mayonnaise with minimal tangy vinegar taste. They also do a rounded pastry with egg salad inside that is also delicious. As for their sweet options, there are many rotating flavors to enjoy like pistachio, mango, pineapple, pear, and, of course, chocolate. Thankfully, the baker and her staff are there to answer questions as they serve up the beautiful confections into distinctive bakery boxes for their patrons. This bakery is most definitely legit!

Also, the cream/milk they added to it kept separating. The biggest thing for me was the price. It was around $25 for both of our drinks which is very expensive. Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap.
