I love the concept wherein customers can order from numerous restaurants (ghost kitchens) and check out on one bill. Vegan Junk Food DMV has my favorite "steak" and cheese sandwich. For converted vegetarians who use to be carnivores, the vegan Philly Cheese "steak" is the best meatless/impossible meat version of t he iconic sandwich I have had. Also, their tater tots are addictive. Horu Sushi's sushi is top-notch too. Check out the spicy salmon roll and the simply prepared edamame. I buried the lede however, because Munchin Burger has the very best grilled salmon sandwich I have ever had. Accompanied by OB Mayo, Avocado, Lettuce, Pico de Gallo all on a soft brioche bun. Perfect sandwich. Get it with their tater tots. There is a Philly cheesesteak place called "Chunky and Bops" that everyone who love steak and cheese sandwiches just loves. Would that they had a fish sandwich hoagie. Since they do not, I have to take the word of others. I love the bar area too. The daily happy hour is a good value. I usually get the Wicked Uncle Old Fashioned which is a specialty cocktail made with Uncle Nearest bourbon. It is $10 at happy hour. However, on a recent visit, they were out of Uncle Nearest so the bartender suggested Woodford bourbon as a substitute. I agreed and the drink was good. I had two of them. I still prefer Uncle Nearest though. When the bill came, instead of the happy hour price ($10/cocktail) each one was $18.50! Damn near double! No indication from the affable bartender that there would be a difference in price (recall that SHE suggested the substitution). So a bill that is usually $20 ($10 specialty cocktails at happy hour) was $37! Just a horrible experience. I expressed my displeasure and wrote a note about the issue on the receipt. How the heck do they run out of liquor (Uncle Nearest) that they feature as a signature cocktail? Why would the bartender recommend a substitution that cost more than double? Customer beware, ask questions, and set your gratuity accordingly. My poor experience at the bar took this 5 star review down to a 2. Tricking and hoodwinking customers into paying higher bills in an effort to increase potential tip basis made my recent (12/7/2024) experience unpleasant. read more

This place looked promising but I was a little disappointed coming here. The vendors' menus sounded really good and it seemed like a nice place to grab dinner (loved the interiors!). Unfortunately, I thought it was really pricey and the food was okay for the price you pay. I tried Horu Sushi Kitchen and got the salmon poke bowl ($16). The bowl was alright -- I wish the salmon pieces were sliced more evenly and that they didn't add tomatoes to the poke bowl. We ordered from the new autumn cocktail menu and they were both syrupy sweet. Bartender was very nice and dumped mine and re-made as just a classic Old Fashioned. For food, I ordered the curry chickpeas ans veg curry dish from The Exotic Chef. It came without chickpeas or sweet potato as listed--literally just curry sauce over rice. I was too hungry at the time to send it back, but it was overall disappointing to spend $15 on a bowl of mostly just rice. I would give 5 stars to the guy singing and playing piano, tho! From what I can tell, this food hall is continuing to improve! For instance, happy hour specials haven't changed, but they extended it until 8:00 everyday -- YAY!!! They also have a brunch on Sundays now, Trivia Tuesdays, Karaoke Wednesdays... it's getting quite eventful! My last time there, I noticed some nice looking tables outside... I am pretty sure they haven't been there long! Anyways, let's dive into the specifics of my last visit. I went a little late, because I had been meaning to try their sushi (one of the few things I haven't tried yet), and I saw the sign outside that indicated HH is until 8... I wasn't prepared! I managed to squeeze a drink in at the bar -- the Rose Gold 75. It was a refreshing gin-based drink. It didn't look rose gold... and I'm not sure if it was supposed to! But it was delicious nonetheless. While waiting for the drink, I also happened to order some food -- avocado/cucumber and eel rolls from Horu, which cost about $15... not too bad. I knew sushi wouldn't fill me up, so I decided to also order from Money Muscle BBQ... they have a veggie option, which was pleasing to see. I got their black bean quinoa mac and cheese. So, the sushi... it was delicious! I have no complaints about it... but if I had to, I'd say I could've gotten more soy sauce on my tray (which I'm sure I could've asked for if I wanted to). The mac and cheese was delightfully creamy (not excessively)... but I was surprised by how not salty it was. I don't like to taste too much salt, but I feel like it could've used a little more flavor. Same for the black bean quinoa patty that was crumbled on top -- though I have to say I really like that combo. As a dish, I would try it again, but I would hope to taste more flavor... unless the wasabi numbed my taste buds? Who knows. Been to this food hall before and it's my favorite in the area. This time I tried The Exotic Chef from le fantome food hall and let's just say they did not disappoint. I honestly thought I wasn't going to like it much and only reason is, the plate I received the food came in this biodegradable bowl almost like chipotles bowl minus the aluminum top and a way less sturdy bottom bowl. The bowl became flimsy and I just thought no way off to a bad start but let me tell you I could've gotten that food in a plastic bag alone and been happy. The rice was soft and flavorful, the cabbage had an amazing spice to it with nice curry flavors and the chicken was seasoned very nicely and fall off the bone tender. The plantain complimented the savory and salty and just brought it all together. I felt like someone's Caribbean mom made me a plate from home and I loved every bit of it. Came here after work to get lunch with a friend. It's a nice little food court in this plaza shopping center. Service could've been better for cupcakes. Place: although small, the food court felt lively and casual. Decent amount of people for an afternoon. Everyone seemed friendly. Poke bowl: Its been a while since I went to a poke bowl place where it's not customizable. It was still good and filling, but I was confused with the cherry tomatoes added. Not bad, but I would request to have that removed. Beignets: the beignets were good, almost as good as the ones in New Orleans. I wish they had chocolate sauce for it. Having honey was a nice requested add on. Cupcakes: the cupcakes were a little pricey at $4 each. The cookies n cream was good, on the chocolatey side. The pina colada was a fun flavor to have. Overall, I do not think they are worth the price, especially how it took over 30 minutes to get them. I was annoyed how I couldn't really talk to anyone since the bakery kitchen was downstairs and private. I went to one of the restaurants to get an update, and they said they will tell the people downstairs. It wasn't busy either. I have never heard of this place however I was pleasantly surprised. They are really building up the area and the food hall is a nice addition as I've haven't been to this part of town in some years. When I arrived there weren't many patrons inside. I was greeted immediately upon entering and chose a seat. I was waiting for my late friend lol and was greeted again by another worker with a big smile and pleasant demeanor; which really felt nice! I noticed the QR code and scanned it to browse the menus of the different vendors. I settled on Money Muscle BBq. The food was super yummy! I would have liked more spice but that doesn't take away from how good the food was and the portion size was surprisingly just enough. Everything we ordered was good, my friend ordered and enjoyed his ramen, he is a frequent customer and recommended the location. By the time we left the place was filling up. I arrived at 11:30 and we left at 2:30. I can't wait to return for happy hour. Positives - Beautiful décor, clever theme, good location, it was clean, the staff was very friendly, nice bar menu, and good craft cocktails Not-so positives-Mediocre food from where I ate, limited choices, no happy hour at the bar, pricey where the quality of the meal and drinks just can't be justified. Would I go back? At some point, sure. I believe as time goes on, they will get the critical feedback needed to make the right changes for lasting sustainability. Mok Bar, steamed buns- the meat was overcooked. I don't know. Think a steak-umm, not very flavorful. The brussels sprouts was very good, the scallion sour cream on top makes this dish a winner. I had one of the cocktails, the Tom a specialty margarita, it was delish, although it cost me nearly $15 bucks. The bedside manner of staff could use improvement, train them on customer service in all aspects, invest in the communities that you are using as your workforce. I'm not a fan of companies inserting staff into environments they may not be culturally familiar with. Train people on more than just cooking and using a cash register. For example, people who work at coffee shops (that shall remain nameless) that don't drink coffee, and know nothing about coffee, it's clear they are there to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. And ain't nothing wrong with that at all! I feel mostly everyone would appreciate a workplace experience that polishes and refines them, giving workers skills that last well beyond the paychecks. I just so happened to be in the area and knew of the food hall and had to stop by. It's located in a convenient area, lots of food choices and easy parking. So there's a big sign and that's what I headed to but didn't seem right. Worker said that was their storage and across the way was the food hall. No problem. Get inside and there's 3 restaurants. I know there are more but they are ghost kitchens and maybe order online, I was confused about that and didn't see any signage about it. But all that didn't matter, I was there for a chicken sando. Sonny & Sons, excellent chicken sandwich. EXCELLENT. I got the hot one and the heat was there. So from my picture looks really good but the surprise is the chicken went like 3 inches past the bun on the side. It was gigantic and I was loving every bite. The slaw and pickles helped balance out the heat, great bread, the most perfectly seasoned waffle fries. I'd eat here every week if they were close by. This awesome food hall is now open in Riverdale Park (near the Whole Foods), bringing delicious new food options to the area. You can order in line at the food counters or from your table by QR Code. I stopped by on opening day around lunch time, and although some things were still being worked out with respect to ordering bar drinks, and picking up to-go food, the customer service was excellent and our food came out very quickly. Helpful staff members were around to help people navigate how to order and to deliver food to each table, quickly picking up empty containers and tidying up, and they even gave my son a cute coloring page and crayons. There's a good amount of seating, large windows with lots of natural light, with an atmosphere and style that mimics a French cafe. The waffle fries from Sonny & Sons were simple in a good way, lightly crispy and cut with the potato skin on. The salmon poke bowl and ahi tuna tower from Horu were delicious, filling a major void in the local area for good sushi. The K-Town fries from Mok Bar had a great blend of flavors with spicy mayo and kimchi topping skinny fries. Also, almost half the indoor space is for a large fully stocked bar with built in USB and charging outlets (yes; they have free wi-fi) around the perimeter, as well with a couple TV's. Right now, there are several wines, a couple draft beers, and cocktails to order, but they will eventually have a happy hour on weekdays and a craft cocktail menu. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich (from Sonny & Sons), and instead, I was given chicken tenders (see attached images) :/ The chicken tenders were not spicy AT ALL; all they did was sprinkle cayenne pepper on the meat. There needed to be more consistency with the flavors. One chicken tender tasted terrific, while the other lacked seasoning and tasted like nothing. One of my chicken tenders was a different color from the other two. I do not see why you put these tenders on top of a bland piece of bread; at least toast it or give us a brioche bread slice for the price we are paying. Overall, I am incredibly disappointed with the chicken entree. However, a sauce (like a homemade spicy mayo) came with the food that was SO GOOD, 10/10. If you were to give this place a shot, ask for extra. The fries were cool too. If this were a personal review for Sonny & Sons, I would give that place a 1/5. However, Le Fantome is cool and cute. I like it. It's smaller than I expected, but no biggie. I can see myself bringing friends and family here for lunch or dinner :) Also, the customer service is excellent. Along with that you have restaurants from sushi to one that focus on good ramen and also can forget the chicken and pork spots.. service is more so controlled from a kiosk. Overall, Le Fantome was a disappointing experience. There's a rotating selection of "restaurants" available so it's hard to say how good the food will be once the selection changes, but the food was just okay. The bar service, which should be the lone constant, was underwhelming. It was also a little bit pricey; the sandwiches pictured were ~$16, without fries. Each table has a QR code that links up to your table, and the food/drinks are brought to you, so there's very minimal human contact. This makes it a bit awkward when the service is slow, and you have to pay ahead of time. We ordered drinks and food at the same time, and the drinks weren't ready until about 20 minutes later, despite it being a margarita and a draft beer. It wasn't super busy, either, so it felt unreasonable for it to take that long. The gose was really good, and the margarita was smooth. The sandwiches were average, and definitely not worth the price. It could be appealing to try the new options for food whenever it rotates, if only the service and prices were better. The location is nice and in a walkable area, and on nice days they have the large windows open to the air, so the ambiance itself was really nice. It could be a nice spot to go on a date, but I don't think we'll be returning to Le Fantome any time soon. read more

They have a few restaurants in one food and today we visited @moneymusclebbq and ordered the loaded Mac and cheese, one topped with black bean crumble and the other topped with the chopped Texas brisket. The Mac and cheese were great and had a decent amount to it as well. I also ordered the orange pepper wings which were good and perfectly fried so I give them a 7/10 but feel like the flavor should pop a little more. I love a good food hall. I've been trying to come here for the longest. Let me start with the manager. I wish I caught her name but she was phenomenal and warm. She walked me through the ordering process on the kiosk. She checked in on all the guest periodically. Top tier service. This was the best sushi I've ever had. That spicy Tuna crispy rice. Whew!!!! There's a new food hall in the area and it's in Riverdale, Maryland. My friend and I went for a drink on Wednesday evening a few days after they opened. Here's our experience: 1) Space: Unlike other area food halls, Le Fantome is in development that screams suburbs. There's a Whole Foods and a Gold's Gym. The up side is there's a lot to see nearby, but to set expectations, it's a development v. an industrial part of town or historic Riverdale. The space itself is one large room with several vendors serving food from around the world. There's a bar with seating on all sides and plenty of tables inside and outside on the patio. It's a beautiful space with tiles and stunning lights. It feels very homey and inviting like a true neighborhood spot. 2) Drinks: Sitting at the bar, my friend ordered an IPA and I a chardonnay. Neither of us loved our drinks, but we appreciated the cost isn't as high as other places. 3) Service: It's kind and efficient. Five stars! If you're in the area, definitely stop by! Came here twice in 1 week! Our bartender, Chike, made good drink recommendations the first time. We tried out Horu Sushi kitchen and ordered the truffle salmon sushi roll and the truffle fries. The truffle fries were standard but highly recommend the truffle salmon!! I got a glass of Hindsight 2018 Napa Valley Chardonnay and my husband ordered suntori toki. Obviously we liked it so much we came back for brunch on Sunday. Sunday brunch was fun! The offering was $7 mimosas and bloody Mary's which I did partake in. My hubby got the Smokey peach mezcal old fashioned and I did change up and ordered the jalapeño cucumber margarita. We used the QR code to order our food and you must try the fried chicken sandwich (we got mild) from Sonny & Son's with a side of fries and we were super delighted with how it tasted and the amount of food you get. I've been here 3 times in the last 3 weeks and I'm so glad this place is in the neighborhood!! I'm sad to see the reviews are mixed because I really hope this place can stick around. The first time we went we had smash burgers from one of the ghost kitchens but sadly, it doesn't exist anymore. And of course I can't remember the name (someone help me!) Horo Sushi is NEXT LEVEL. Might be the best sushi I've had in this area. Seriously. Super fresh but also unique as they don't use tempura flakes for their crunch, but instead crispy onions or fried angel hair pasta (like whaaaa!?) Insanely good. My husband raves about the calamari. A large portion, delicately fried and the yum yum sauce is bomb. The bar is really the star of this place. A lovely watering hole with reasonably priced drinks for the area. Trying the food from the Sushi Kitchen I had the Veggie ramen bowls while the wife had fried chicken and ramen. Late afternoon, folks coming in for the bar. For a food court not many choices. This is the second food court this week where the choice is rather limited. I also had a California roll thinking that the bowl would not be enough. On that l was mistaken the bowl was a good portion filled with various veggies. Corn, seaweed, bamboo slices. Broth was good and flavorful. The surrounding area was nice to be in lots of wood and tile floors. They have a happy hour. I didn't partake as l was running late and would miss an appointment. The food choices are good, but the bar is really leaving something to be desired. Their old fashioned was possibly the worst cocktail I've ever had -- do not know how you mess up one of the classic cocktails. There are not a lot of options either for beer. With a continually rotating set of kitchens, you would hope the bar would be good since at least you could say "let's get a good drink and see what sort of new food they have." But you cannot. Hmm had higher hopes for this food hall considering Esther Choi's mok bar opened a location here. It's quite barren with little food selection but I'm hoping that's because it's brand new. Sonny and sons chicken sandwich was tasty, don't forget to asked for their special sauce! However it took a long time to get the food. Mok bar's bulgogi bowl was pretty standard, if not a little oily. I think I will give this food hall a few more months to developer before visiting again. read more

It was a good atmosphere. This was our first time visiting this location. The service was activated by a QR code on the table top which gave you access to the restaurants within the plaza. We tried Chunky and Bops restaurant. The subs and fries were delicious. It's worth a visit! read more

So, I'm not sure if the reviews should be for the entire building or the individual restaurants, cause I'm not sure if there is one kitchen or many. Anyway, I've had food at Greek Aroma and Sonny & Sons. Let's start with Greek Aroma, I've had the veggie gyro, veggie pita, and the spinach pie. I like the veggie gyro (which I thought I was ordering when I got the veggie pita). I did not like the veggie pita. It was filled with lettuce and feta cheese. There were a few other things sparsely placed. Because I thought I was ordering the veggie gyro, I said no lettuce, well this pita was only lettuce. I would have like to receive a call, considering it should have looked like a misorder. Anyway, I ate it. It was definitely not worth the over 12$ that I paid. It was lettuce, bread, cheese, sprinkled stuff. The veggie gyro has huge chunks of veggies which is what I like. I don't mind that they need to be cut up. I like the gyro. My piece of spinach pie was not good. It was an edge and the edge was inedible b/c it was soooo hard. I'm not sure how I feel about Greek Aroma. Sonny & Sons I've had 4 times and each time I get the kids chicken strip and fries meal. It is sooooooooo good, but I'm fasting from meat right now, so I can't have it. I'm not sure how they're preparing this chicken, but it's just good. The fries are good, too. Like most fries, they don't reheat very well. On the end of my fast, I'll probably eat at Sonny & Sons. I really like that strip box. I forgot, picking up for Le Fantome can be very confusing. There is an entrance to a kiosk that never seems to be open, so you have to inside. You won't know that until you walk around to the door. The food is often ready before you get a text, so don't wait for the text. read more

Unreal! Been here a few times now since it's opening! I've had dumplings and the fried chicken place-- have had the chicken place a few times now. The banana pudding from the ghost kitchen is delicious too. I don't drink but friends and my husband who have had drinks enjoy it. The customer service is great-- all the workers are super friendly and helpful. They have a few kinks they have to work out that did affect our visit, like confusion around where and when to pick up food. However, o view these as growing pains and we figured it out after our first visit. They should fix their texting system for ordering from the ghost kitchens, as it says they'll bring the food to our tables, but you actually have to go pick up at the ghost kitchen. However, I'm not docking any points as the food is delicious, vibes are great, workers are super nice... I view it as just a growing pain. Definitely check it out. read more

Sushi was average - not very neatly rolled and heavy handed with the sauces. Service feels like a food court.

Terrible service from workers and food below subpar. Ordered from the kiosk and one order was done in a reasonable amount of time but food from the other vendor was another 20 minutes wait cause the worker was on a smoke break in the back. The place was empty and I see why with poor service like that. Other workers who are supposed to roam around and help were just sitting at the bar talking to one another. read more
