We stumbled upon this cafe on their literal final day of being open (October 19, 2024) after deciding not to wait in what would've been a two hour line for a coffee shop around the corner. This shop, owned by a couple who have decided to retire after 32 years of running this cafe, is small and quaint. They sell homemade pastries and tarts as well as drinks. 09/01/22 Love this little Cafe with homemade goodies. It's rare for me to be able to find restaurants that make their own quiche. I had the ham with veggie and it was so tasty. I'm going to dig into my peanut butter and oatmeal cookies later. Too full from thr quiche. I'm not sure why Yelp has that this business as closed with no option for us as consumers to submit the hours. It's open. Google maps will have you go through the back but there's also an entrance to the building on the Lake Street entrance. The gentleman that served me was such a sweetheart. I miss that type of customer service. I'll definitely be back since I work around the corner and know they are actually open. read more

I was killing time before my class and decided to visit La Cafe Creme. I was a little confused about the location but once I was inside the building I found the cafe! It's the cutest cafe I've ever been to. Not because of spectacular interior design or trendy drinks, but because of how homey it felt as soon as I walked through the door. There was an older man working there, who I'm assuming is the owner after reading the previous yelp reviews. He's very sweet. I ordered a vanilla almond milk latte and he offered to put more vanilla if I needed some. The coffee itself is delicious. It was the perfect flavor and it wasn't too sweet- just how I like my lattes. I wish more people knew about La Cafe Creme, this place is severely underrated and I can't wait to try more of their coffee drinks and delicious pastries they have on display. read more

I can't believe I hadn't found this place until I randomly spotted it on Google Maps. I've walked by the Colonnade SO MANY TIMES and never had any idea there was this little cute and homey mom and pop cafe! Hunted it down to see if the cafe was still there, and there it was! The gentleman was so kind and went above and beyond when I asked questions. He said he makes everything in his kitchen next to the register except for the spinach pastries (folded in three or four ways). We got spinach quiche, almond croissant, peach tart, and chickpea salad. Total was $22.50. There were sweets to savories including quick lunch options - sandwiches and salads. The selection might be rather small, but that way you know he keeps things fresh and he's specialty is focused! I personally think it's so much better than seeing all kinds of things that's been sitting for days or just not taste good! I ate the almond croissant on my way home so no pic, but WOW!!!!!!!! Seriously! I love croissants and care greatly about their quality. It was so crispy on the outside, and buttery and flaky on the inside. I There was good amount of almond filling and it was mildly sweet, pronouncing natural almond flavor more than anything else. I loved it!! I mauled it before I got home. Don't be fooled by the size of the broccoli quiche! It's so filling! I loved how the crust was still so dry (not soggy) even after leaving it in the fridge for all day. The texture was so good and the filling had good balance of cheese and egg. Not too cheesy or too eggy. The texture was dense and creamy and the roasted broccoli provided good substance, flavor, and texture to the overall richness. The chickpea salad tasted homemade! And the fresh parsley adds freshness to it. I would've personally liked it a little more tangy, but generally speaking it was not too salty or anything -- tasted healthy, fresh and homemade. Haven't tried the peach tart yet since the quiche really filled me up, but we're definitely going back. Overall impression is that the gentleman has good palate and skills to pull off delicious homemade style (not too fancy), wholeheartedly made sweets and savories and I felt like he really cares about what he provides to his customers. Made my heart warm and belly happy. Hope they'll be more visible so other people can really enjoy their delicious goodies they have to offer!! I stumbled upon this little gem while I was needing to kill some time and it was the perfect little place to study while I waited. I look forward to coming back soon. Pros: They have a great selection of coffee, tea and snacks. The prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly and attentive. They have seating inside of the cafe as well as several tables outside of the cafe near the fountain. They have a huge selection of teas - I ordered the earl grey and it was smooth and perfect. I met the owner, Samuel, and he runs this little cafe purely out of pleasure and his wife runs the lingerie store a few stores down (how cool is that!). Cons: None! I really enjoyed everything about this sweet little cafe. The prices are good, the quality is up to par and the atmosphere is comfortable. Tips: Say hi to Samuel! This is a small little café in the Colonnade, around where the fountain is! I came here to kill some time and got a great large iced café latté. It comes unsweetened and there's sugar/half&half/milk on the side of the counter, like your usual coffee place. There was just one person working when I was there, and he was so nice! I love the cute little tables out by the fountain, which are reserved for customers of Le Café Creme. The seats are filigreed metal that match the tables, but there's seat cushions on them so they're nice and comfy. For restrooms, you can ask for a key to the ones upstairs. read more

I found this hidden gem from Yelp when I was searching for some quiches near my workplace. The quiches are really delicious. I believe I have tried all quiches, and they were all so yummy. The iced chai latte is also really good here. It could be the yummiest iced chai latte I have ever had. I always get one when I go to this cafe. Recently, I tried some of the sandwiches (spinach and feta, garlic chicken, ham, and tuna sandwiches), and the blueberry scone. They were all very tasty as well. The cafe also sells soups, which are available mostly during cooler months, and I already plan to try them, too. Sam, the owner of this cute little cafe, is really nice and cordial. His wife, Rose, is also really nice and cordial. They treated me like family. So far, I am loving all the food and drink I have gotten from this cafe. Seems like all the food and drink sold at his cafe are really delicious. Sam is very talented in creating delicious food and drink he sells at his cafe. Wow.. I guess I've never had a real chai tea until I came here. It's conveniently located right under my doctor's & what drew me to this place was the name, the coziness...the giant chalk board. Lol This place can be easily missed or looked over but it is truly a hidden gem. First time I tried it, I didn't read any reviews didn't check Yelp, just wanted a nice hot drink. Ordered the Chai Tea & got the small because I wasn't sure if it would taste good or not & ahhh major regret for not getting the larger size!! The chai was very hot, punched me in the face with flavor & was a lil frothy. Now I look forward to going to the doctor's so when I leave, I can buy my delicious Chai. Since Sam is the "MAN", he's probably the person I spoke with. I called Le Cafe Creme because of all the GREAT reviews that are found on Yelp! And when I called, I told him that I was calling to get pricing for boxed lunches for 100 people, as I need to prepare a budget. He said, "you will need to come in. We don't do that over the phone". Then HE HUNG UP!!! I don't have a problem with his request to come to the restaurant to discuss a simple boxed lunch order for 100 people, but I don't appreciate that he abruptly hung up the phone. Every other restaurant that I called was kind, gracious and helpful. I guess, we just will have to go without ever trying Le Cafe Creme, because I will not spend money with anyone who does not understand common courtesy, let alone customer service and gratitude. In addition, I will not patronize this establish personally, nor attend with my family. Life is too short, and there's just too many great restaurants in the area. read more

I stumbled upon this place when taking a shortcut from the back parking lot to get to Shopper's Lane. It looked so cute, and I just knew I had to try it! Came back again and was sad to find it was closed. Just as I was walking away, the owner came and unlocked the door. Hmm, okay. It was the middle of the day? Anyway, it had chairs and tables set up inside the cafe, and outside (it's actually housed in an indoor "mall") next to a bubbling fountain. Adorable! Except, I feel like it's kind of sketch sitting by yourself in a dimly lit place just drinking coffee. Most of the stores in this place are closed every time I go through there, no matter if it's a weekday, weekend, morning, or night. Very odd. The prices for this place are very reasonable. I got an americano with soy and added splenda to it. The gentleman (the owner, I assume) was just friendly and helped me out very much. Unfortunately, I forgot to specifiy that I wanted it iced. And it was in the middle of the summer. At 3 PM. Geez. Anyway, when I finally got myself home and sufficiently cooled down, I found it was very delicious! I had to keep asking him for more soymilk, because he didn't quite put enough for me, but he was very accommodating and did just so. There are some food items on the menu, and some pastries+cookies on display. I wanted to get a croissant to go along with my coffee, but I noticed a tiny, tiny gnat buzzing around. Definitely not my thing. Also - another thing that I noticed was weird was the absence of sound, or music. It was simply very, very quiet. No complaints . I read the reviews and decided to have lunch today on my own for a change . Sam, the owner was there . I couldn't help think about the review one person wrote about ordering 100 lunches on the telephone . Sam wasn't rude at all. He was elderly and worked alone . I can't imagine him making 100 sandwiches on his own and if he did actually hang up, he probably thought it was a joke . I have lived about 5 miles from this area for quite some time and have never seen or heard of it. It is rather difficult to find . Tip: it is in the building attached to the side of a Verizon store . It's in the Colonnade building . I ordered a tuna sandwich on a baguette. It was simple and good. Again no complaints . He wore gloves, which is much appreciated . He generously spread it on the baguette and asked if I cared for lettuce and fresh tomatoes . Then he put it on and asked if I would like sweet pickles or peperoncini on the side. I asked for water and I tried an oatmeal nut cookie. The cookie had a great flavor and consistency . However, it wasn't freshly made as the baguette sandwich . He is a clean man and never rushed or Ignored me . I felt sorry for him because it was his lunch time . I ate in his place , while he ate by the lovely and quiet indoor courtyard right in front of his restaurant . He would look up from time to time to see if I needed anything . I saw him prepare something special for his customer and friend . It was soft sort of soft white cheese with sliced tomatoes and a sliced Persian cucumber with Mediterranean olives. His main concerns were making his costumers happy, cleaning, and serving the food hygienically and making certain each order was correct . So he may not answer the phone . Again, no complaints . If the cookie would have been freshly made that morning , I would have given it a five .
