My delicious almond milk vanilla latte!!! Thank you for serving pasadena!!
Nicole T.

I was killing time before my class and decided to visit La Cafe Creme. I was a little confused about the location but once I was inside the building I found the cafe! It's the cutest cafe I've ever been to. Not because of spectacular interior design or trendy drinks, but because of how homey it felt as soon as I walked through the door. There was an older man working there, who I'm assuming is the owner after reading the previous yelp reviews. He's very sweet. I ordered a vanilla almond milk latte and he offered to put more vanilla if I needed some. The coffee itself is delicious. It was the perfect flavor and it wasn't too sweet- just how I like my lattes. I wish more people knew about La Cafe Creme, this place is severely underrated and I can't wait to try more of their coffee drinks and delicious pastries they have on display.

Lovely quaint cafe next to Verizon. My dad and I walked in after upgrading my phone. I ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches and pastries are home made and I look forward to returning to try them.

Quiche very good

Hidden Gem.... very nice lobby... food is good... price reasonable... nice owner... walked by thos place for uears on Lake Ave and never knew it was here. Good find!

Broccoli and cheese quiche, chickpea salad, peach tart

I can't believe I hadn't found this place until I randomly spotted it on Google Maps. I've walked by the Colonnade SO MANY TIMES and never had any idea there was this little cute and homey mom and pop cafe! Hunted it down to see if the cafe was still there, and there it was! The gentleman was so kind and went above and beyond when I asked questions. He said he makes everything in his kitchen next to the register except for the spinach pastries (folded in three or four ways). We got spinach quiche, almond croissant, peach tart, and chickpea salad. Total was $22.50. There were sweets to savories including quick lunch options - sandwiches and salads. The selection might be rather small, but that way you know he keeps things fresh and he's specialty is focused! I personally think it's so much better than seeing all kinds of things that's been sitting for days or just not taste good! I ate the almond croissant on my way home so no pic, but WOW!!!!!!!! Seriously! I love croissants and care greatly about their quality. It was so crispy on the outside, and buttery and flaky on the inside. I There was good amount of almond filling and it was mildly sweet, pronouncing natural almond flavor more than anything else. I loved it!! I mauled it before I got home. Don't be fooled by the size of the broccoli quiche! It's so filling! I loved how the crust was still so dry (not soggy) even after leaving it in the fridge for all day. The texture was so good and the filling had good balance of cheese and egg. Not too cheesy or too eggy. The texture was dense and creamy and the roasted broccoli provided good substance, flavor, and texture to the overall richness. The chickpea salad tasted homemade! And the fresh parsley adds freshness to it. I would've personally liked it a little more tangy, but generally speaking it was not too salty or anything -- tasted healthy, fresh and homemade. Haven't tried the peach tart yet since the quiche really filled me up, but we're definitely going back. Overall impression is that the gentleman has good palate and skills to pull off delicious homemade style (not too fancy), wholeheartedly made sweets and savories and I felt like he really cares about what he provides to his customers. Made my heart warm and belly happy. Hope they'll be more visible so other people can really enjoy their delicious goodies they have to offer!! Side note: business hours are Tue to Sat from 9am to 5pm

Great place for a cup of coffee and a treat to eat. Located inside the Colonnade on South Lake Avenue. Coffee to your liking, and tables and chairs just outside in the courtyard. Friendly service and a good selection of bites to eat with your coffee. Very relaxing. Plenty of parking in the South Lake Avenue parking lot on Shoppers Lane. Entrance to the colonnade from Lake Avenue, as well as Shoppers Lane.

Love the view!

This place is so cute. I tried the spiced chai tea latte and it was very tasty. They also have good size half sandwiches that are real good especially the brie with basil for under 4 bucks. I loved their assortment of chocolate and pastries. It was so hard narrowing it down. My sister and I really enjoyed our lunch here. I'm so glad I found this hidden gem.

Great turkey wrap $4.95

Great turkey wrap and this is so huge enough for TWO people!!!! So Big and only $4.95, Sam you have a gem of a little shop here too bad it's located inside this medical building so hidden away and no one can see it or i believe a lot more people would be eating here!

Menu & prices. Chai is so yummy!!

It says on open Yelp and there's a sign on the door saying they're supposed to be open now, but no one is here. Not even a BRB sign. Ugh

The cafe is cute. The man is nice. I tried the Brie and basil sandwich. The Brie cheese was too strong, left a bad after taste in my mouth.

We had to circle the area a few times to find street parking. It would be nice if they had a designated parking lot in addition to street parking because some of the businesses around there had that. There was seating inside despite the store being pretty small, so my bf and I just ate inside. The cakes were pretty good! I got the Matcha Yuzu and he got the Kinako Chestnut. I couldn't really taste the yuzu until I tried only the first layer of cream. The matcha overpowers the yuzu a lot because there was two layers of matcha cream and one layer of matcha cake. Still really good and can taste that the matcha is high quality! As for the kinako chestnut, we couldn't taste the chestnut much but there were some chestnut pieces hidden in the cake! I would love to try the peach one as well but this place is quite far. Hopefully I'm in the area when they have the peach seasonal again.

Most of the cakes cost $9+ and the sandwiches were $10+! Got the Egg Heaven Sandwich ($13) and it was pretty much an egg salad sandwich. The bread didn't taste fresh and was quite dry. I was expecting the bread to be soft and fluffy but that wasn't the texture at all. The egg salad was quite heavy on mayonnaise and had too much pepper for my preference. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the sandwich unfortunately. The Sunny Side Up (Coconut Mango Mousse Cake) - $9.50 - was delicious! Love how it was nicely packaged in a cute tin! The mango mousse was so creamy and I could tell it was made with sweet mangos! The cake was so moist and fresh. The coconut cream on top made it even more delicious! Definitely recommend! The Tiramisu ($9.50) was so good! It was so creamy and every bite was nicely layered with mascarpone mousse/coffee jelly and topped with cocoa powder. It wasn't too sweet and the cream didn't feel too heavy. The cake was very fresh and soft! Overall, I didn't enjoy the sandwich but the cakes were incredible and definitely worth getting!

Once you walk in you can smell the sausage roll and meat pies being made fresh! They have a general menu of what flavors they have for the day or week not sure. Hubby got the Classic Aussie sandwich and the bread pudding, while my son and I got the Beef Pho meat pies and Popcorn Pork meat pie rolls. The beef pho meat pie definitely had the pho flavors and aromatics. This was absolutely delicious! The Popcorn Pork was good, not as aromatic as the pho pie. The flavor was lacking on the Taiwanese popcorn chicken basil flavor that it claimed. It reminded me more of a Vietnamese meat pie (pate chaud), which is peppery with a smoother texture that this one did not have, but it was still flavorful. The bread pudding was good but the texture was more dense reminding me of a banana bread loaf. I didn't care for the dollop of yogurt on top, which took away from the flavor of the bread pudding itself. Hubby said the Classic Aussie was good but was expensive for the size of the sandwich (small burger size). Hubby got the Long Black coffee which was good, but sadly my iced matcha latte was lacking in the matcha flavor. It was very pale in color and tasted mostly of milk. Service was quick and friendly. I will come back for the meats and try the other flavors of the meat pies next time.
