We were walking along Le Promenade d'Anglais and decided to stop by for brunch at Le Bistroy. At first glance, the place looks to be a regular Cafe, but do not think twice about stopping in! You will not be disappointed! There are a few tables in the restaurant, but luckily it wasn't busy! I ordered the scrambled eggs and french toast (which came about 7,50€). The scrambled eggs came with a salad and bread. Wow. The best eggs I have ever had! I do not know what these ladies placed in the eggs, but they were absolutely magnificent. Probably not a french way to eat eggs, but I dipped my toasted bread in my eggs and they were magical. The french toast was also absolutely amazing! The whipped cream they used just melts into the toasts! There are only 2 women working. So just beware of slower service. read more

Fantastic breakfast spot! At first I was disappointed that the brunch menu is only served Saturdays and we could only order off the limited breakfast menu, but we got the only 2 cooked entree-ish dishes and they were amazing! Random note.. They have quirky bathroom decor. There was a chalkboard you could write on, decals on toilet, etc. THE WAIT: We came for an early breakfast on an early Tuesday morning (~8am) and were the only two customers there. When we left, one other couple had come in. THE SERVICE: Great! The one server/chef spoke English, and there were English menus, but it didn't feel touristy. THE COST: Only 17,20 euros for breakfast for two. THE FOOD: * Latte - 4 stars Very thick layer of foam, good texture overall. * Cappuccino - 4 stars Less dense layer of foam, with cocoa powder on top. Not as sweet as other cappuccinos we've had in France. * French toast - 4.5 stars Amazing, I don't know how they get the French toast to be so soft and soggy. * Scrambled eggs with smoked trout - 4.5 stars Lovely silky soft eggs, goes great with trout on the toasted bread. I was desperately searching for an open restaurant on a Saturday during a holiday weekend. Le Bistroy was basically the only thing open. They only offer the buffet option for brunch, which was annoying to me, since it was way too much food and more money than I wanted to spend. My cappuccino was really good, though it was an upcharge from the buffet. The sausage, egg, and salad plate was very good, and would easily have been sufficient for my entire breakfast. They offer unlimited crepes at brunch, and mine wasn't very good. The cold foods on the buffet (and everything was cold) ranged from edible to awful. Nothing was particularly good, and I didn't finish most of the items I tried. I would consider going back for a regular breakfast without the buffet, but I would definitely skip the brunch. read more

The food is nice enough but the service, my goodness, I haven't witnessed such rudeness anywhere in the world. The table next to us left and was left dirty for the 45 minutes after they left despite this place being tiny. My father asked for a coffee and the waitress snapped back "you will get it when I am ready".... The table near us had a child with her dad. He asked if they could make her pancake despite them missing breakfast period by 3 minutes, to which the waitress replied "is your daughter unaware of the breakfast times".... We asked for more bread and the waitress tliterally threw the basket on our table from about half a foot away. Incredibly rude staff. Both of the ladies working there, one was older with glasses. This place could be nice but no way would I ever come back. read more

This was awesome. Really cute, quirky little breakfast place in central Nice. Very fair prices. We got the scrambled eggs with trout, the French toast and a crepe. Everything was delicious. The owner runs it herself and cooks everything fresh after you order. Highly recommended. read more

Delicious and simple breakfast at a good price - no French people in sight though but still yummy none the less! ‍ We had baguette, butter, homemade fig jam, an assortment of spreads, coffee, fresh juice and scrambled eggs with a bit of salad and water for around 10 euros per person. Could only get better if they had darker bread and/or gluten-free options. Service was ok but not particularly warm - but the food was good. It's hard to find breakfast places here. read more

Went here for breakfast on our first morning in Nice and I must say this place is pretty interesting we ordered a few things French toast, scrambled eggs and ham, and the Bistroy Banoffee which was actually a granola w/ carmel, bananas, and fresh whipped cream topped with fresh orange zest. I was slightly confused when it came to me because in the description it said biscuit so being extra American I assumed some sort of bread like biscuit not granola lol. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and cooked well I also really enjoyed the small salad mixture that came with the dish, the ham was similar to a slice of prosciutto. The French toast was so so in my opinion but I did really like the homemade carmel sauce drizzle. One plus when trying to plan the day is the restaurant offers WiFi which definitely comes in handy when trying to navigate with limited phone service. read more

Best breakfast ever! Not the most traditional place, but delicious and affordable. We tried the breakfast special (basically amazing French breakfast toast with Dijon, arugula, egg, cheese and ham), a deliciously large lemon sugar crepe, and the toast with spreads--they have an incredible allotment of spreads ranging from butter to caramel, specculoos, jam, and Nutella. read more

Finally found a place to get eggs for breakfast! They have a rather large petit dejeuner menu (most places just give you a croissant or pain au chocolat and a coffee). On the menu- Formula - french bread toasted your choice of Crepes - yes! Finally someone gets that these should be a breakfast food. This is by far the best surprise in Nice! The best service, the best food we had in Nice. The lady who runs the place is very friendly, yet reserved/humble so you don't feel any pressure, it's relaxing, and everything is home made here! Even the jams and yogurt :) music is great here too. Cute little cafe next to my Airbnb. Ordered the combo of juice, hot drink, two pieces of bread and a whole plate of spread. Tried the homemade caramel and it was delicious! The americano I had was also pretty smooth. The owner is friendly and you can see she cares about her business. Will come back again! read more

Fantastic quality. Very small cafe but the service is wonderful and friendly. Everything (including the yogurt) is hand made by the owner and obviously loves what she does. Came here my first morning in Nice and no other breakfast place compared. Very reasonable prices and the coffee was perfect. read more

This was the best brunch I had throughout France. We went to Lyon, Paris, Rouen, Marseilles and Nice. We got the special - a focaccia bread with eggs and such. We also had the chocolate crepe and the French toast. It was truly amazing - say hi to the owner. She and another help run the operation and you can tell they work hard to get you amazing food!! read more

AMAZING!!!!!! The eggs and the Pain Perdu aka French Toast were so delicious. The bread was glazed ever so lightly with a caramel sauce and whipped cream.... The caramel sauce was not too sweet, which I loved since I don't have a sweet tooth. The eggs, whipped up with cheese... Again, the perfect blend. I am so sad I found this gem on the last day of my 8 day vacation.... I recommend coming for breakfast. I was unable to make it for lunch since I was on the other side of town, but this was just enough to satisfy my palette. read more

I came in here on a Tuesday morning and was the only guest for most of my meal. I received amazing service and equally amazing food! I am gluten free and they had gluten free bread and gluten free crepes. So that alone had me thrilled. But the lady running the shop was so sweet and kind! I had the formula and a side of eggs. Delicious! Definitely try the homemade caramel butter (yes, you heard that right). Come here if you like a delicious, cozy breakfast! read more

Yum yum! We were looking for a breakfast place, and we found this place on Yelp (yay). I got French toast with speculoos, which I don't really know what it is, and a crepe with orange and lime. Both were delicious, especially the French toast. It came with two pieces and was really soft, and the speculoos was delicious. The crepe quality was good, and the jam was a bit tangy and not too sweet. Definitely recommend the French toast and this place in general. The waitress is super friendly too, and she speaks English, yay! Pricing is okay, the crepe was €3.50 and the French toast was €2.50. read more

Super yummy little place! My roommate and I came here for a quick lunch. The menu was a little small, but all of the choices were very fresh! I got the spinach tagliatelle with beef stew. My roommate had the eggs cocotte with tomatoes and cheese. Both dishes were amazing and would highly recommend this place, even for lunch!! Also they speak English which is a bonus for those like myself who are French-challenged. read more

This place was open and serving food just after the trip from hell that happened in Barcelona where everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong. Anyway, it was a breath of fresh air to show up and eat their brunch. It was amazing. The crepes, the quiche, everything I tried was a home run and it's a lot of good food and all freshly prepared right of the stove. The crepes are to die for, I had the caramel. The cappuccino was great: the orange juice was amazing and fresh squeezed. This really lifted our mood and spirits after losing our baggage and schleping to the airport by bus, metro and train in Barcelona. Definitely recommend coming here if you love fresh food. I am a foodie if you can't tell! read more

Very tasty, nice room, pleasant service. We had the plat du jour which was a cheese risotto with mange tout, olive and lots of cheese. The desserts were not too sweet. They arranged mini burgers for our two kids. Lovely spot to have lunch just a few blocks back from the beach. read more

Missed breakfast one morning and choice le Bistroy for lunch. My husband has eaten hundreds on hamburgers in his life but rated this one the absolutely best of his life. Cooked perfect. Oozing with two types of cheese fresh bakery bun. But the best part was the chickpea powdered fries. 1000 times better then the real thing. My salad with fresh smoked trout beautiful fresh greens avocado and homemade dressing was also in the top 10. So reasonably priced and the service was excellent. Must try while in Nice. read more

Spent the weekend in Nice during the Monaco Grand Prix and this was by far my favorite restaurant. Some of the other places I ate at were questionable but Le Bistroy is the real deal. The two women working there are friendly and attentive. I went for their weekend brunch on Saturday and was impressed with the variety that was offered -- it included a hot drink, fresh juice, a crepe with whatever fixings you wanted, and whatever cold items you wanted from a mini buffet. Pretty legit brunch for 20 euro. It was so tasty that I came back on Monday for breakfast before leaving town. A+ experience. I would highly recommend Le Bistroy to anyone visiting the area. read more

We waited a few minutes while they prepped our table and we were seated promptly. The vibe was cool, very French cafe feeling on the streets. The waiters were kind and attentive was you settled in. They patiently answered all our menu questions. We ordered the fois gras (because when in France), the duck and the octopus. All the food was excellent, the fois gras was perfect (although probably wouldn't order it again for ethical reasons). The restaurant has a humble exterior (largely blocked by gelato customers), but once you descend the stairs into the dining area you are in a sheek, romantic, cellar. Intimately small but comfortable. The walls are lined with stone and endless wine bottles. The starters were all quite good. We had the snails, squid, and cheese plait. As a bonus, my waitress recommended an excellent wine to pair with the squid. It was spot on. My group shared the beef and tartafelle (forgive my spelling). The beef was succulent, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I had no idea what to expect with the second dish but it was delicious and I would certainly order again. The prior night, I had the bakes camembert when eating solo. The dish is exactly as described. It's tasty, but I'd recommend it for a group since eating an entire block of melted cheese solo is challenging. Last but not least, the wait staff were wonderful! We really enjoyed chatting with our 2 waitresses, who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and our election of drinks. As a tourist, you really hope to stumble on a gem like this were the locals charm you and really guide your dining experience. If ever back in Nice, i'll certainly go again!
