3.5 stars rounded up. Quality/Quantity - This came up on my Google feed with so many good reviews and it was very near our hotel. Got here early, and got a seat with no reservations. It got busy quickly with a waiting list. Prefix dinners - I got the famous chicken and my wife got the fish. It came with a generous appetizer, see pictures. My wife also got the chocolate mousse dessert. Overall the food was okay. My wife's entree was probably the better of the two. Ambiance - Small local restaurant. Tables squeezed next to each other with very little space in between. One unisex restroom. I did not use it, as our hotel was very close. I washed my hands at the hotel before coming here. Service - Okay, not good or bad. Price - 56 Euros, $65 US; expensive for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success. read more

Our first meal during this trip and it did not disappoint!! Ordered their famous chicken and escargot and both were phenomenal. The chicken was so tender and just a burst of flavor in every bite. You can really differentiate the French cooking technique in this dish. The escargot was simple and delicious. Love that they didn't put too much butter and you can really taste the natural flavor of snails. Service was quick and the owner was very personable. Love that this little bistro is located off the beaten path from Old Town. Highly recommend this place if you visit Nice!! This is definitely one of the best French restaurants I've had. The owner is very nice (Sat us at 6:40 when they open at 7) I had the Duck Confit which was delicious & came with a wonderful scalloped potato dish! The food was so so. Most customers including us were Americans trying the typical French cousin. We had the escargot, the pasta and the duck. The escargot were small and dry. The rest of the food was okay, not great. The surprise in all this is that they added a 5 Euro surcharge and called it "duck support" without asking. We paid it because we were going to add a tip anyway. But it left a bad taste in our mouth. We would not go back again. read more

Love that they are open late!! Decor was super creepy but the food was delicious. The duck fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The potato had a nice crispy skin yet maintained all of its internal moisture. read more

This is a great stop for dinner if you want to make sure you're not eating at a place catering to non-French tourists. We had the famous chicken and the duck confit, and both dishes were cooked perfectly, though the side potatoes on the duck dish were better than the chicken. The owner is incredibly kind and made us feel very welcome, and the food came out surprisingly fast. We arrived at about 9 pm on a Thursday night, and it started to fill up more shortly after we were seated. Tucked away from the typical touristy streets and plazas is this amazing restaurant. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall French place that only offers a couple of menu items, but they make them GOOD. The famous chicken and escargots were to die for, and the boeuf roquefort was so good, my sister left her plate clean. I adored this place! Truly the best French food we had throughout the entire French Riviera. Mom and pop style place the food was affordable with an easy menu: pick an appetizer, entree, and dessert for 33 euros! We both got escargot for the starter, I got the steak and my husband got the duck confit all were so so good. (The potato sides were excellent) The service was great! It's a small place so come early as it fills up quickly. However the staff is so quick and sweet and even points out other people dishes if you are unsure what to get. What a great find! Seriously, step away from the touristy area and treat yourself to a delicious local meal. My wife and I shared the duck confit, steak Roquefort, soupe de legumes, and flan de courgettes. All superb! The vegetable starters were incredibly flavorful, with an almost Italian flavor for the flan de courgettes. The meat plats were both very tasty and the sauces on each were excellent. Service was prompt and excellent, and it really felt personable and relaxed in the quaint restaurant. Will come again and I highly recommend you try Chez Moi! read more

A really interesting and funky atmosphere, with very helpful and friendly servers and a great menu that allowed you to choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert for 33 euro, which was a great deal. I stopped here on my last night in Nice to treat myself to a 3 course menu. It was hard to find vegetarian offerings in Nice, and this was one of the few places that seemed to have a few options. The 32(ish?) Euro deal for 3 courses is a great deal, but the food was mediocre. I started with a vegetable soup that was okay, and the lasagna which was also good but not out of the ordinary. The "apple pie" dessert was terrible! I thought I would fulfill my bucket list item of having a great French apple tart but this one tasted like a stale grocery store apple pie. Maybe the non-vegetarian stuff is better, but dessert is the same for both so I would skip the dessert and just do the 2 course meal. The ambiance was very casual, with servers loudly yelling and even arguing with each other. They were clearly in a rush to turnover tables. It looks like a basement game room which could be a cool vibe, but they didn't have enough seating inside for me so I was seated at a table out on the curb across the street. read more

If you are traveling to Nice, you need to eat here. We happened to find this restaurant on yelp and it's been the best decision we've made. The employees spoke little English but they made you feel very welcome and made an effort to make sure everything was perfect. The duck was unbelievable. It fell off the bone and the sauce was to die for. They gave a side of mash potatoes that were the perfect side. The mash had a crusted cheese top. Highly recommend!!! This was a spur of the moment, random find during our brief time in Nice. Even after finding it online we almost missed it on the street. But thank god we didn't. I ordered the escargot started (6 pieces) and the duck confit entree. My boyfriend ordered the zucchini flan starter and the famous chicken. We also ordered a wine. Everything was delicious, I recommend the famous chicken and the escargot. The gentleman who worked there was very friendly and vibrant. I had trouble getting the meat out of the escargot and he stopped by to show me a quicker way to eat it! When he asked if we wanted dessert and we declined because we were full, he gave it to us anyways as a complimentary gesture! The Famous Chicken was good however the Steak was just OK...smothered in sauce so hard to even tell what kind of meat it was. The service was a bit haphazard but entertaining as the owner (?) would pass by each table quickly asking questions or making comments. You had to be fast to reply or comment back. read more

Great food, friendly owner/waiter...you really are "chez moi" because it feels like family (without the drama plus seriously upgraded food). It's been a month and I can't remember everything we had at the two meals (in a row, on a 48 hour trip to Nice) there but I do remember that they were amazing, fresh, quality ingredients...we definitely had the famous chicken, terrine pate, zucchini soufflé's, duck confit...it was all very good. I went here for dinner at it was a fixed price menu for €18. This included an appetizer, entree, and dessert. You could choose from 5-6 items for each. I had the terrine (pork päté), linguine foie gras, and moelleux au chocolat. Everything was delicious! The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that I felt there could have been a little bit more foie gras in the linguine. This would also make a great date spot. read more
