    Provided dog bed for Tito

Blown away by the creativity of the chef here. Not only was it 1st class linen table aervice, but the food, to die for! Astonished that a touristy area could have such a hidden gem among the throngs of tacky bad food choices. They cared here. They went the extra mile to make the dish just not another plate of food, but a gastronomical delight. Bravo to this establishment. Highly recommend the Lasagna, unique and creamy. along with the honey Panna cotta with pistachio crumbs and lavender ice cream. They even brought water and a bed for our pup Tito to be comfortable. Thank you!!

Superb menu and spectacular service will have me coming back here again and again. Plenty of seating inside and out. Fine dining at its best. Exquisite presentations and perfect portion sizes. Had the scallops and beet hummus for appetizer and they were the best I've had. Main course was beet pasta with pumpkin creme and traditional buckwheat bigoli with anchovies and onions. All I can say is YES PLEASE. Meat course was lamb chops served with prepared pumpkin. Everything was stellar and really epitomized Venetian cuisine. Divine.

The most unique eating experience we've ever had. The Beef Fillet and the Goose Linguini was amazing. The service was over the top, very professional and knowledgeable about each dish. A must go to when in Venice!

Absolutely awful treatment. Super rude. A SCAM. We arrived at the restaurant 32 minutes after the booking (we got turned around) and they both cancelled our booking AND KEPT OUR DEPOSIT. In any other situation, given it was not a no show but rather a late arrival, any restaurant would have either tried to accommodate us or if the table had truly been given away, they would have refunded the deposit. Instead, the very rude maitre d' simply said "just read the small prints - it's your problem". And if they truly have given the table away, the restaurant has made no loss - a deposit is there to ensure that, so they're just profiting unfairly. Seriously - AVOID. Unbelievable...

Wished we can like it more. Found Le Bistrot de Venise via Michelin Guide. If you like a older school style restaurant, and to be seated in these different small dining rooms, the clientele the night we were there was very mixed tourists: a loud table of 8 of Brit family, a couple that drank coke for dinner, and 3 Asian friends. To the restaurant's defense, service was attentive and Venice is a touristy town but i still can't get pass the ambience being like that. Overall comment is that the dishes seemed dated. The amuse boche was a piece of smoked fish that seemed to be missing something. My main was the steamed eel ($35) which was the highlight of the meal, amazing dish, fresh, cooked really well, the skin had a great texture and very flavorful. The other dish (duck) was a bit tough, a bit over cooked to my taste, a bit dated. Beef tongue was another average dish, served warm. Somm was extremely helpful and helped us picked 4 wines to pair with each dishes, reasonably priced by the glass program was a nice perk to try different local grapes. Overall, service was good, they are here aim to please, but a very old school and touristy restaurant off the main area. Just not to my personal taste. I much preferred Ai Mercanti (night and day if you ask me)

I loved this meal! The staff was patient with my poor Italian but they have menus in English and several other languages. The servers were happy to switch to English when my understanding of Italian (un po, ma no molte bene) was not sufficient for the complexity of the meal. Michelin is a mystery, but my experience here was better than some other places with a star. Perhaps it's because the restaurant is relatively large while all but one of the starred restaurants I have dined at in Venice are tiny. (Glam and Il Ridotto each have about nine tables.) The larger size is an obvious advantage when trying to get a reservation a day ahead instead of months in advance. I ordered the "Chef's Fantasy" six course tasting menu with wine pairings. The amuse bouche at dinner had six items! Raw shrimp, scallops, tuna tartare, beef tartar, duck, caviar. Each with various sauces and herbs. It was paired with champagne. The first appetizer was lightly seared scallops, from Boston!, with roasted cauliflowers on a cauliflower purée. Paired with a medium bodied white from Fruili The second appetizer course was a sous vide egg on shrimp with puréed potato under caviar. It was paired with a white Pinot from Fruilli. Next, risotto with two kinds of shrimp, a scallop, beet root, scallions and micro greens This was followed by Bucatini pasta with a three kinds of tomatoes sauce, black garlic, micro-greens, and a lightly grilled shrimp. It was paired with a Schiavoni from Puglia. The penultimate dish was baked eel served with a Schioppettino. It's an ancient grape, today only found in Fruillia. The wine was stellar. It was complex with a long finish with cherry, leather, and a little bit of citrus. The eel was baked then finished in a sauté pan to make the skin crispy, then served on soft polenta in a cheese sauce topped with lamb au jus, apricot sauce, and some sort of micro greens related to celery that I didn't quite understand. The Schioppettino was my favorite wine of the evening, although none were bad. The eel was my least favorite course--not something I would order again a la carte. Pre-dessert was rosemary ice cream on top of coco and some sort of fruit and rosemary gelatin. It was light, refreshing, and delicious. My server said it was a new menu item as of today. For dessert, raspberry sorbet, freeze dried bitter orange, fresh fall fruits. Crunchy panna cotta. Accompanied by a late-harvest win Service was fantastic. The courses were well-timed and each one described to me as it was served. I highly recommend Bistrot de Venise. It was a terrific dining experience.

This was a cute little out door restaurant that we stumbled upon on the way to our hotel. It was just my cousin and I who were dining here but we're seated quickly and served in a timely manner. She got the gnocchi and I got a mushroom pasta as this was our last night in Italy and first night in Venice. I appreciated that we were served in a quick manner and the food was delicious.

Perfect service at this place....like wow for the wait staff. Additionally, the meal was absolutely perfect. It is not cheap but well worth it after a day of seeing the sights in the extreme heat. To sit in this cool, shaded corner and get impeccable service was fantastic. I tried the traditional Venetian calf's liver on polenta, which I think was hominy for Americans..not the traditional yellow polenta I was thinking of. Delicious and iron packed. Our pasta starter, the maccheroncini was delicious.

Located at the street level of our hotel (Antica locanda al gambero), I believe this place has Michelin recognition. I was so surprised that a very unassuming restaurant had that great of service & food. In Venice, this place very well could have been my husband's favorite!!! Everything was delicious including the dessert. The best part? We could walk up to our room afterwards to sleep. The service was spot on & the waiters speak great English! Around here, people eat dinner much later so don't be surprised if you see people just coming in to dine around 8-9 pm. The downside was the mosquitoes, we ate there in September and the mosquitoes ate us. The staff was nice enough to give us repellent. Being that Venice is very touristy and expensive no matter where you dine, this place is definitely worth your money.

This place was the highlight of our trip to Venice. Truly outstanding from beginning to end. The food had an artistic look with some authentic flavors, truly don't know how they did it! The lasagna was a win, the sweet and sour prawns were a new favorite of mine. Service wise no complaints, the sommelier took great care of us.

Make sure to make reservations ahead of time. We had them for 7 which was a perfect time as it began to fill up afterwards. We were seated immediately and the waiter handed us the menus. He was very nice and offered to grab water and asked if we wanted a drink. I ordered some prosecco to start . They do have "meals" if you want to choose from a pre set menu but i went for picking my own. I ordered the scallops, blue lobster gazpacho and the duck breast . I asked the waiter to pair a wine with each course for me as well. They bring you this raw salmon pallet cleanser to start and I'm not a fish nor a raw fab but this was actually really good. My scallops arrived and to me they were not cooked enough. There were also tiny hard pieces of something in them which made the dish off putting . My next dish arrived and they poured in the gazpacho into the bowl for me. This dish was really good . The coldness of the soup mixed with the fresh lobster was great. My duck arrived a little later and first thing i noticed was that the day had not been properly rendered down . There was a layer of fat all around the breast. It was cooked well and it still tasted good . For desert i ordered a chocolate and passion fruit dish. He paired a local sweet red wine with it which went perfectly. Overall the experience was a decent one i just wish the wait staff had been more attentive to glasses on the table and filling my water up ( small things i know but for the high class restaurant you would expect this )

Upon arrival, the owner was sitting at a table drinking wine. There weren't any people dining, so we were the only ones. The servers and cooks were very attentive. We were immediately greeted and seated while our drink requests were taken. We always choose still water. Today, we decided to try a wine tasting, which included a blend of whites of reds from the region. The waiter explained in detail the type of wine, where it is made, what type of grapes it is made with, and the year it was made. All of the wines were very delicious. Italy takes great pride in their wines and rightfully so. We requested bruschetta and presciutto. We were given fresh, warm bread, which we mixed with salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The bread was amazing. It had a soft, warm inside and a crunchy outside. Isn't that they way bread should be served? The bruschetta was delicious as was the presciutto. The food, wine, and service were superb. We vowed that we would return for dinner, but alas, we didn't make time to do so. This is a great restaurant!

Location is very nice, right at a pretty trendy canal, filled with lots of restaurants and bars. Right next to is an excellent gelato place. It's quite small inside with few tables, many just hang around outside - and why not, the location at the canale is a pretty spot. We did manage though to get some seats inside. Our Bulldog was very welcome here as well. The various cicchetti are presented at the counter. There are some classics of course, but also some very innovative creations. We went for the latter. There was gorgonzola with strawberry, radicchio with brie cheese, pesto topped with an anchovie and mushrooms, mashed fava beans with pulp and mashed fava with goats cheese and a cherry. All really wonderful combinations. Our favorite were the radicchio and the fava/goat cheese. Surely something to recreate back home. Staff was very friendly, we felt very welcome here. And instead of focussing on Aperol, Select and Prosecco, it's mostly about white and red wine here. And they have an excellent selection of wine. Not all cheap, but definitely worth the money.
