We went walking down some random allies and stumbled across some random restaurants. Vineria All'Amarone was one probably the best dining experience we had in Italy. Upon arrival, the owner was sitting at a table drinking wine. There weren't any people dining, so we were the only ones. The servers and cooks were very attentive. We were immediately greeted and seated while our drink requests were taken. We always choose still water. Today, we decided to try a wine tasting, which included a blend of whites of reds from the region. The waiter explained in detail the type of wine, where it is made, what type of grapes it is made with, and the year it was made. All of the wines were very delicious. Italy takes great pride in their wines and rightfully so. We requested bruschetta and presciutto. We were given fresh, warm bread, which we mixed with salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The bread was amazing. It had a soft, warm inside and a crunchy outside. Isn't that they way bread should be served? The bruschetta was delicious as was the presciutto. The food, wine, and service were superb. We vowed that we would return for dinner, but alas, we didn't make time to do so. This is a great restaurant! read more

Def try a flight here! They will let you split it amongst 2 people and it is plenty of wine to taste. We enjoyed the wine but where this place really shines is when the owner steps in to chat and provides recommendations and talks about history of Venetian wine! They also had so many Cicchetti's but we had a food tour planned after so we stopped ourselves from eating there but based on other reviews and how the food looked, i am sure it would've been delicious. They are working to open another wine tasting venue next door so it should be able to accommodate more people soon. They had many different flights to choose from and tons of glasses you could get after as well. They were very great with suggestions and prices were very reasonable for the amount of wine. What a great little hidden gem! The BEST food in Venice we've had so far with FANTASTIC and attentive service from Elisa. The Bruscetta Caprese was delicious by itself, but with the addition of balsamic vinegar made this over the top! The lasagna was the best I have ever had! We might even have to eat here two nights in a row!!! The drinks were great as well! I highly recommend and definitely worth the few minute walk from the Grand Canal. This was one of our favorite places in Venezia. We loved it so much that we went back 2 nights in a row. The first night we only had one of their wine tasting options, and a plate of cured meats and cheese, along with a tiramisu and coffee, which was so good! The second night, we ended up trying 2 other wine tastings (5 types of wines per tasting option). We decided to order the cured meats plate again, then, we ordered 2 pastas, which were amazing (beef gnocchi and forgot the name of the other one), their tiramisu, and wrapped up the experience with their local end of meal drink (not limoncello) but a mix of lemon ice cream, Prosecco and vodka. Try the Flights! Vineria All' Amarone made our list of places to try for their cicchetti - small, open faced sandwiches. We knew we couldn't leave Venice without having a cicchetti experience so during our first visit here, we ate one of each on offer! Get the plate of 10 to start with and then order what you missed or retry or your favorites! The tuna was a delicious, creamy surprise; the lardo, mortadella, and - yes - pesto, were all so wonderfully full of flavor and interesting combinations. Our second trip to Vineria All' Amarone, we tried the wine flight from five Italian regions, the olive oil flight, more cicchetti, Culatello di Zibello Dop con Focaccia (ham with focaccia), and cannelloni with ricotta and spinach - everything we ate was wonderful! The perfect amount of sassy and humorous. English was her second language and she used that to her advantage. We were a party of three. Each of us ordered a wine flight. The Amarone wine flight is a must try if you come here. 4 distinct Amarone wines and the waiter could tell out all the specific details about why each on was chosen. I went with a slightly lighter flight because I'm a bit more of a lightweight. Next... the FOOD! So great! Every bite was scrumptious. The had fresh porcini mushrooms, which I'm now obsessed with. I had a lovely steak, cooked to perfection to go with my wines. We started with a light pasta to fully embrace the perfect ambiance.
