    Typical Venetian Cuisine

A recommendation from our hotel for dinner. An easy and pleasant walk from the hotel. Vino Bono advertises "typical Venetian food". I would agree, a nice selection of great local dishes, an extensive wine menu and delicious deserts. The staff was attentive and helpful. A very pleasant meal on a pleasant evening in Venice.

Saw recommendations online and gave it a try. Pretty pricey here compared to the others. Also have 5$ cover fee. Right next to the river but you can't see much view inside. Standard service. Nothing special. Pasta's average level with good flavor. Personally really like the seafood pizza. Just not much meat once you removed all the shells. Would not recommend to come here specifically.

Better than most places in the area ! It's nice in the garden or outside next to the piazza . The staff is very warm and friendly, reasonable prices and well prepared food.

Amazing service! Great food, nice area to sit outside! Arbi was fantastic and a great server

This was some of the best pasta and lasagna we had on our trip. The lasagana was cheesy and the pasta and sauces were delicious. Although the waiter was not overly friendly, it was a delicious meal. We were there early so the restaurant was not busy.

    Mussel soup

After a long trek from the train station to our stay at Hotel dell'Opera, we were exhausted and hungry. Vino Vino was on the corner of this little street so we wandered in. The restaurant itself is huge! They have a back area that is open air and has a nice garden ambiance. Lovely to sit at. The service is very slow. We were not greeted for a long time. Water here comes in a small bottle and at a costly $3 per bottle. There is also a cover charge per person. Be warned. We ordered a mussel soup to start. Very tasty in a garlic white wine soup with butter crostini on the side. A pretty big portion for an appetizer. The soup was so flavorful we tried to dip the table bread in it as well. Next I had a lasagna and the bf ordered the cuttlefish with squid ink pasta. Both entrees were mediocre. We had heard seafood is a must in Venice so I knew ordering lasagna wouldn't be the most amazing but this was just odd. It was so soft it was like I was eating mousse. Not super flavorful either. Just a bundle of blah. The pasta was not much better. Also kind of bland but at least it was unique. Overall, if we were not so hungry and so close by, I would not have enjoyed this meal much.

    Gnocchi with meat sauce.

We are here on our first night in Venice. It's next to a canal with inside or outside seating. Food was excellent. Try the Gnocchi with meat sauce!

What a beautiful and quaint place. Service was excellent and the wily skirt of the food was amazing. Tucked away in a corner it adds to the ambiance and you feel like your part of a movie set. On my list of come back and recommend

The food was just ok. The service was terrible. Lots of great restaurants in Venice, this one is not one of them. Try somewhere else.

Upon arrival, the owner was sitting at a table drinking wine. There weren't any people dining, so we were the only ones. The servers and cooks were very attentive. We were immediately greeted and seated while our drink requests were taken. We always choose still water. Today, we decided to try a wine tasting, which included a blend of whites of reds from the region. The waiter explained in detail the type of wine, where it is made, what type of grapes it is made with, and the year it was made. All of the wines were very delicious. Italy takes great pride in their wines and rightfully so. We requested bruschetta and presciutto. We were given fresh, warm bread, which we mixed with salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The bread was amazing. It had a soft, warm inside and a crunchy outside. Isn't that they way bread should be served? The bruschetta was delicious as was the presciutto. The food, wine, and service were superb. We vowed that we would return for dinner, but alas, we didn't make time to do so. This is a great restaurant!

Location is very nice, right at a pretty trendy canal, filled with lots of restaurants and bars. Right next to is an excellent gelato place. It's quite small inside with few tables, many just hang around outside - and why not, the location at the canale is a pretty spot. We did manage though to get some seats inside. Our Bulldog was very welcome here as well. The various cicchetti are presented at the counter. There are some classics of course, but also some very innovative creations. We went for the latter. There was gorgonzola with strawberry, radicchio with brie cheese, pesto topped with an anchovie and mushrooms, mashed fava beans with pulp and mashed fava with goats cheese and a cherry. All really wonderful combinations. Our favorite were the radicchio and the fava/goat cheese. Surely something to recreate back home. Staff was very friendly, we felt very welcome here. And instead of focussing on Aperol, Select and Prosecco, it's mostly about white and red wine here. And they have an excellent selection of wine. Not all cheap, but definitely worth the money. We especially loved the Pinot Nero "Terre di Giotto". A brillant cicchetti bar. Definitely a place we come back to next time in Venice.
