It was a beautiful night in Venice for a group dinner outside. We were greeted promptly by our server who rattled off a few drink highlights before taking our orders. The complimentary table bread variety and bruschetta got us off to a great start. For my entree, I had the spaghetti with clams and others ordered the beef fillet, fried seafood platter, and spaghetti with tomato sauce. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. My seafood pasta was perfectly seasoned with a few herbs and olive oil and as I was eating it I was amazed by how light and flavorful it was. I easily devoured it. When we finished, as was customary, they brought out limoncello shots for the group to end a really delightful dinner and to set us up perfectly for the gelato that was to come!

You can easily found eat in this restaurant, they food is salty but pretty. Size is not big. Service is not that good, that's why I only give two stars.

@justpadge_eats Started off with some hard bread with tomatoes.... hahaha Bruschetta nothing fancy, nothing to write home to mom about. Recommended by our tour guide was a Risotto ai Frutti di Mare (Risotto with Seafood) When the dish arrived all I could hear in my head were the voices of the judges on Master Chef 'Taste everything, don't under or over cook the risotto....' These guys NAILED it. From the Muscles, Shrimp, Clams, Squid and Lobster everything was what I expected for the first time having risotto. It was so good I actually slowed my eating pace down and how much I put on the fork. A dish that I wanted to savor every single bite. To assists us with digestion (well that's what one of our bartenders said out here) we wrapped up the meal with Limoncello. Excellent staff, Levi did a great job handling our motley crew!

One of my favorite restaurants in Venice; I've eaten here at least 5 times over 3 trips to the city. Very elegant food and classy service but without a pretentious attitude. The host, Alessandro, is always extremely welcoming and happy to make recommendations, whether for food or from their wine list. A Beccafico serves a mixture of Sicilian and Venetian dishes, which both have flavors that complement each other nicely. Must-haves include the marinated mixed seafood (always so sweet and tender and flavorful) and the zuppa de cozze--which comes out in a big bowl covered with pizza dough that "bakes" as the mussels cook, and is perfect for then sopping up all the great broth. Pastas are always perfectly cooked. Love the linguine with clam sauce, or try the spaghetti in squid ink with smoked cheese. Excellent salt-crusted seabass; basically you can't go wrong with any of the seafood dishes here. Vegetable antipasti and sides are always top notch as well and the wine list offers some great Sicilian wines. For dessert, don't miss the tiramisu, a very generous portion served in a glass jar. They'll also bring out a bottle of their house-made limoncello to just "serve yourself" as much as you'd like after your meal. Linger and enjoy the people-watching in this lovely square and soak up all the elegant atmosphere of Venice.

Lobster Pasta. The texture of the pasta was amazing, definitely home made and nothing like I have ever had in the states.

Must try the house special mussels! I'm a huge fan of seafood and mussels typically are not my thing... but the mussels here were the best I have ever had - cooked to perfection and not too muscular in texture. Wonderful friendly staff that translated the menu for us since there was no English menu. Lobster and clam pastas were delicious! Yelp reviews don't do the restaurant justice - search this restaurant on Trip Advisor and you will see how many people like this place!

Wonderful venue in Campo San Stefano. Terrific end of the trip meal. Food is very well prepared and presented. Staff is professional, friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the money!

    Mussel soup

We walked into this restaurant for our first meal in Venice as it was close to where we were staying. I was skeptical at first because of some of the other reviews and the restaurant wasn't as full as the surrounding cafes, but the food exceeded my expectations - especially the mussel soup! We ordered it simply because the name of the soup has the restaurant's name in it, so we thought we'll try out their specialty, and boy was it the right call. The mussels were fresh, juicy and the flavor of the soup was superb. It was so good that we went back for another meal before our flight home. During the two meals there, we tried their 1. warm seafood salad for appetizer - it was good, lots of fresh seafood (mussels, clams, shrimps, squids), 2. mixed seafood pasta - it was good, but the toppings are the same as the warm seafood salad, so I wouldn't recommend ordering them both together like we did, 3. assorted marinated fish - I enjoyed this dish very much, light and yummy 4. lobster and crab pasta - it came highly recommended by the staff so we decided to give it a try and it was fantastic. At that point of the trip we've had a whole bunch of other types of seafood, so it was a nice change.

This is actually a historical Venetian cafe' from 1870's called "Caffe' dei Frari o Toppo"[1], and I remember coming here regularly when I was in college to "study", i.e. to hang out with my friends who would also come here during the day. In fact, this is still a cafe' during the day, but it transforms itself in a cocktail bar at night. The vibe is mellow, relaxed and romantic and this bar prides itself on being one of the few in Venice to serve truly inventive contemporary cocktails. The menu is actually divided by techniques: fermentation, distillation, liquid kitchen, and fat wash. We tried the Cucumber and Fake Rose (fermentation: Fermented cucumber, Andaliman pepper, Lillet, verjus and bubbles) and The Amaz-on Fire (fat wash: Yaguara cachaca, coconut oil, Cynar, dill, house sherry mix and Porcini mushroom; peat perfume). Both were excellent, and were presented in an artful way that doesn't feel pretentious. And if you are hungry, the bar serve their own cichetti (bar snacks). I look forward to coming back next year, and perhaps try one of the food-inspired, liquid kitchen cocktails. ------------------------------- [1] https://www.yelp.com/biz/caffe-dei-frari-o-toppo-venezia

It brings delight and minimizes food waste if guests don't like it. * Le Corsaire: A gorgeous soft green drink. Sweet but not sugary, with a lil bit of spice at the end. It was paired with a blue cheese mousse and honey caviar - I don't know how they did it, but it was delicious. The blue cheese taste makes the mousse pop. * Steven had a cocktail that came with a side of yogurt covered with a soft shell (that acted like a water balloon). * Hispaniola: The drink was smoky and something about it tasted like temptation. Paired with a beautifully done meringue (nice and airy!) and a keyboard-smashingly gorgeous caviar.
