The food and drink here were delicious - this cake is truly spectacular. That being said, it is insanely pricey here, especially given local prices. You are paying for the history, which is a given. It's beautiful inside but small. I came in with 3 friends and we were waiting for a spot at the bar. We stood at the end where there were no seats when a couple left. We had already ordered and my friend tried to go grab the new opening for us, and was shooed away by the waiter and people who had just arrived (who looked like they would drop some cash). The place is kind of sterile, frankly, looking like a forgotten. The tables are sort of pushed around kind of haphazardly, and it felt like the most touristy spot on the planet, or in Venice. That said, the service is just impeccable. And the drinks, though horribly overpriced, were delicious, and perfect for an afternoon that had been filled with August heat and preceded by several hours of walking. A relative recommended we stop here to enjoy the original Bellini they invented. We worked diligently trying to make dinner reservations months in advance. They only make them on open table 14 days in advance. We secured them for our third night. We stopped in on our second day in the afternoon as we couldn't wait to experience the bar and the Bellinis. We tried the original and tried a Vodka Bellini. We absolutely fell in love with the Vodka Bellini's. Expensive though at 25 euro each. The bartender brought us olives! The bar was empty and no dress code in the afternoon before 6 pm. We went the next day too, before our evening dinner reservation. We enjoyed the Vodka Bellini's but also tried Vodka martini & dirty martinis in small shot glasses. This presentation was not appealing for a classic martini. The bartender brought us tiny ham & grilled cheese minis and olives. They were so good. We moved upstairs for dinner. I had a huge filet, perfectly cooked. My husband had chicken curry. It was okay. Did you really do Venezia if you didn't have a €22 bellini, in the home it was created? I think not! You'll hear zero complaining about the price from me, a cocktail at the Ritz in Paris runs me €34 and I'm known to be a more than one drink girl, a sour at GHT in Lago di Como is €30 so in all honesty the €22 was on par for a two ingredient drink. We stepped through the door around 7p to grab a couple of their famous Bellini's and there was no way I was passing up the delish slice of cake. Dessert before dinner is just who I am. We had flown in from Vienna so I was totally still in cake mode. This gorgeous cake melts in your mouth, is super light and was scrumptious paired with the Bellini. I don't love Bellini's I'm way more of a Bourbon or Tequila gal but I came here specifically for this drink. It was tasty, but I was just taking in a little cocktail history if you will. Service was fantastic, we had a perfect little corner booth so we could take in the place. I'd definitely recommend if you're visiting. read more

Wouldn't have minded the "snooty" service as another reviewer commented but the Bellinis were not good and overpriced w only a hint of peach flavour. We popped in our last day in Venice as we like frequenting legendary hotels and bars on our travels but this was definitely worth skipping. Ordered finger food along with Bellinis, not good either. Didn't see what all the hype about is but we aren't famous or super wealthy so not whom Harry's caters to. BTW, we had no idea that shorts aren't allowed and all of four us were wearing shorts, albeit tastefully dressed. We are aware that Italian men don't wear shorts to restaurants and the two men in our group wore long trousers to all dinner but this was Sunday brunch time so I guess if your shorts are tasteful and not sloppy, they let you in? Super crowded. Expensive as anything but a great spot to try for the Bellini! The staff is dressed to the nines with white coats and impeccable service. We were served a bowl of green olives with pits at the bar while there. Lots of happy people here and it got very crowded. Was planning to have dinner and literally the service in having our cocktails was so bad we decided to close out and leave. Wait staff totally ignored us and had to flag someone down to pay our tab to leave. Literally the first time in 20 years I have wanted to simply walk out. Everyone's tables were converting to dinner but ours we were seated in the main bar and dressed appropriately - and they knew we wanted dinner as we asked when the service began. In a city with great restaurants and bars - this may have been a great place 50 years ago but today is sub par. Overpriced drinks and snooty service. Tourist trap! Came here to try a few drinks in this famous bar. Started with 2 Bellinis. Tasted good but came in a glass not much bigger than a shot glass. Next we ordered a whiskey sour and a rum and coke. The sour also came in the small glass and was subpar, no foam or egg white on top. Server did not know what rum was! Visited in October 2025 obviously this place is historic but it is also a One of the biggest tourist traps in Venice. $26 drinks, poor Service and basically they doubled our bill right before we left. I would steer clear of this place. Staff was obviously making a ton of money. They could care less about their weary traveler. Tables sitting next to us all agreed this was a Blatant Rip off. On a recent trip to Venice we came to this restaurant for dinner. They have a first floor bar which was crowded with locals and tourists. This place is famous for the invention of the Bellini cocktail. The second floor is a gourmet restaurant. Reservations are a must for dinner. We started out with a Bellini. Now this drink seems to be a contentious issue with many patrons. It is only about 6 ounces and costs 22 euros. It was delicious, but definitely not worth the money.. During dinner we split a bottle of sparking water. For dinner we split a pasta entree to start. It was a delicious plate of tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce. Next we each had the veal with polenta. This had to be the best veal I had ever eaten. Fork tender and cooked in a delicious sauce. The entrees are pricey, but they give you a healthy portion. This place is for occasions or a one time visit as a tourist. The bill came to $235 euros for two. Other restaurants we patronized for dinner In Venice cost us about $65-75 euros. We did not order dessert after dinner because we basically ate pastries and cappuccino all day while sightseeing. Dispute the price I would highly recommend this historic place for dinner. read more

Such a wonderful place to eat lunch. We ended up just walking in and getting one of the last tables for lunch. For the table we ordered prosciutto and mozzarella. It was delicious! For entrees, we had the club sandwich (came with fries!) and the baked tortellini with ham. The sandwich was very good, but it was a little difficult to eat. Tasted great though! The tortellini was delicious and almost like a good baked Mac and cheese. For desert we ordered one of the cakes that they had that day. My family and I just had the most degrading experience at Harry's bar this evening. I had reviewed the dress code before we walked by the establishment to take some photos. I read that men had to wear long pants and dress coats in order to enter the bar, so my husband, two grown sons and I had no plans on going in. But when I peaked through the door and saw that almost all the men sitting in the bar were wearing shorts, no sports jackets, and t-shirts without collars we decided to go in. When we walked in a very rude young male host tried to stop us from entering because he said my husband did not have closed toed shoes. But my husband had on Keen sandals that were closed toed. We pointed that out to the host and then he said that my husband's shoes needed to cover his entire foot and have no openings. We know he made this rule up on the spot. It wasn't listed on the dress code online. Why do we think he wanted to prevent us from entering the bar. For one thing, we aren't uber rich. But the main reason I think the host didn't want us to enter the bar is because our older son who is 23 is autistic. The host didn't want a disabled person and a middle class family in the establishment. Unfortunately this isn't the first time our son and our family has dealt with this type of discrimination. When you have an autistic family member you deal with it periodically but you would think Harry's Bar would be classier than that. What happened next was absolutely disgusting. The host physically put his hands on my shoulders and pushed me out the door. He actually physically assaulted me. It felt personally degrading and my personal sense of safety felt violated. This host treated my family and myself as though we are less than human. Both my husband and I may not be rich but we both work in fields where we help children have better futures. The bellini itself was nothing special. If it was made with Dom, I could possibly justify the cost, but it wasn't. If I saw Cook's in the back, that would be the kicker! It's a tiny bar and we were packed shoulder to shoulder (the dude at the table next to us literally had his elbow on OUR table it was so packed). I went here in October, 2021 because of all the famous people that have been at this bar over the years. It's the oldest bar in Venice and to sit in the same vicinity as Hemmingway or Chaplin, is so cool. They are extremely overpriced though. $27 for a small Bellini? They charge so much because the Bellini was invented in this bar, but still; you can walk down the street and get the same Bellini for $8. The service here was quite disappointing. My husband and I were happy to enjoy a late night drink in a historic establishment, in fact we were very excited. But staff was rude the moment we walked in. Considering the delicate economy of Venice is based in tourism, and we speak Italian, we were not expecting to be met with such ungracious, unkind, and rude staff.
