A great bar where I indulge in my two favorite hobbies. Cocktails and people watching. Sure, the occasional sea gull dropping down creating havoc on unsuspecting guests who remove the plate covers from their pretzels or bread creates some excitement. But you also get to see dozens of tourists from all over the world walk past. This bar is located on a main path filled with luxury brands so it's great for window shopping while drinking a €13.50 Aperol spritz. Just make sure to cover the free snacks they provide... or else

The posh spot to get an elegant drink with senior citizens out to get lit on their trip to Venice. We rolled in to use the facilities but then encountered a class of sophisticates sipping Aperol Spritz and impacting their own facilities like it was pre war, the best of times, and happy families are all alike. We had a ball.

Great little hotel bar with fantastic food and a great beverage list. Had the tartar di manzo and a couple of Nira amberattas which were amazing. Can get crowded but worth the wait. Sit at the bar for best service.

having a good time with unsettlers visiting from Tuscany. Cute little bar in Venice that is reasonable priced and cool atmosphere. they have a playlist of songs that you create from any genre and time period. the waiters are super friendly and make you feel welcomed. if in Venice and want to get away from the fancy, touristy places CD was check out il Bar Caravellino.

Attached to a hotel. Look for the ship and the red awnings.

Directly across from Giorgio Armani. Drinks range from €10-20. Nice location, bar is a little dark and dated but friendly staff and good drinks. Much less expensive from the bars one block away on the water.

Our party in this fantastic bar with their outstanding staff!

This is a fantastic bar in Venice! We have had a hard time finding great mixed drinks until now! Olga makes amazing drinks and even personalized the music playlist for our party of six! Filippo provided fantastic service and snacks, and talked to us about basketball!

Better Bellini's than the famed Harry's and much better service. The staff here will make you feel welcomed and at home.

Great spot for a spritz - the bartender was friendly and the setting was a nice throwback in time.

The waiters were attentive and very sweet. Wish we had more time to check out the menu but it looked like they had some very creative dishes.

For complete effect, please see photo for menu to refer throughout. We booked our New Year's Eve dinner here on recommendation of our host in Venice and had high hopes. It was €200 a head including drinks (which might have been the only positive of the night; our glass never emptied before the next pour). The seating was at 20:00, however the aperitif didn't arrive until 20:50. The fruit flies were circling (literally). The aperitif was a mixture of seafood bites. (The highlight being the Prosecco they served again bottomless). The only notable aspect would be the attempt at a cod creme macaron. It lacked in the creamyness of a macaron however it was headed in the right direction. The salmon burger was dry and inedible. The appetizer, yet another 50 minute later, was okay, nothing special. The first one was a panko over easy fried egg on top of mushrooms (labeled as chanterelles, didn't seem like chanterelles) with truffle oil and a potato purée. The second was a traditional Italian medium cooked salami meat with lentils on top. Both middle of the road. The first course of pasta was a disaster. The pasta was an extremely undercooked, far too thick for tortellini which as a result was overly crunchy. The second pasta was a pumpkin gnocchi which was again okay, but nothing special. The main that came out was duck with the most sour tasting over cooked teriyaki apple slice on top. The meal looked completely unappetizing and tasted about the same too. The time is now 23:20 on New Year's Eve. With no end in sight, we left. And had just enough time to grab our bottle of Prosecco and find a nice seat on a dock to watch the fireworks and rescue our night. All in all we won't be back here and I wouldn't suggest to anyone they spend €200 a head on a meal here.

Situated at the foot of the Ponte dei Frari bridge in a non-touristy, quiet part of Venice, this…read morequaint two-story bar with an inventive cocktail menu is characterized by a mezzanine with black leather booths and beautiful stained glass lamps hanging from the ceiling that opens up to look down on the main room. This is actually a historical Venetian cafe' from 1870's called "Caffe' dei Frari o Toppo"[1], and I remember coming here regularly when I was in college to "study", i.e. to hang out with my friends who would also come here during the day. In fact, this is still a cafe' during the day, but it transforms itself in a cocktail bar at night. The vibe is mellow, relaxed and romantic and this bar prides itself on being one of the few in Venice to serve truly inventive contemporary cocktails. The menu is actually divided by techniques: fermentation, distillation, liquid kitchen, and fat wash. We tried the Cucumber and Fake Rose (fermentation: Fermented cucumber, Andaliman pepper, Lillet, verjus and bubbles) and The Amaz-on Fire (fat wash: Yaguara cachaca, coconut oil, Cynar, dill, house sherry mix and Porcini mushroom; peat perfume). Both were excellent, and were presented in an artful way that doesn't feel pretentious. And if you are hungry, the bar serve their own cichetti (bar snacks). I look forward to coming back next year, and perhaps try one of the food-inspired, liquid kitchen cocktails. ------------------------------- [1] https://www.yelp.com/biz/caffe-dei-frari-o-toppo-venezia

Finally found my other notes for this place. They did really interesting stuff with their sides…read more Very modern, in portion sizes that are approachable. It brings delight and minimizes food waste if guests don't like it. * Le Corsaire: A gorgeous soft green drink. Sweet but not sugary, with a lil bit of spice at the end. It was paired with a blue cheese mousse and honey caviar - I don't know how they did it, but it was delicious. The blue cheese taste makes the mousse pop. * Steven had a cocktail that came with a side of yogurt covered with a soft shell (that acted like a water balloon). * Hispaniola: The drink was smoky and something about it tasted like temptation. Paired with a beautifully done meringue (nice and airy!) and a keyboard-smashingly gorgeous caviar.
