Ravioli

This place was fantastic. We found it online as a strong recommendation, and came on one of our final days in Italy. We came right around opening so were able to get a walk in table without a reservation. The staff were all super friendly and helpful throughout the night. The complementary bread here was probably the best one we had from every single restaurant we ate at in Italy. We shared a bottle of wine, and ordered a variety of dishes to share. We got the pistachio pasta, gnocchi with duck, ravioli, tuna plate, truffle lasagna, and fried platter. Amongst the items we ordered, standouts were definitely the pistachio pasta, gnocchi, and tuna. They were so perfectly textured and flavored, and we thoroughly enjoyed them all! We also got a frozen mojito like drink as a dessert wine, and it was so so delicious - one of the highlights of the trip! Definitely recommend this restaurant :)

Paccheri with prawns

A little further than where our hotel was but it was a good excuse to take a water taxi and explore a different area of the city and I am so so glad we did. The menu is very seafood forward, which I appreciated. There were tons of things we wanted but ultimately we went with: - Scallops in their own shell: Plump, buttery, perfectly seasoned. And beautifully served - Paccheri "Nevodi": The prawns were adorably hiding in these delicious noodles that I wasn't so familiar with. Delicious prawns they were! - Purple gnocchi with scampi/scallops: I mean anything that has truffle on it will ultimately get 5/5 stars from me. I would eat this sauce on anything. - Cuttlefish with polenta in its own ink: I think this is a super creative dish and many would love, but the texture of it and the taste of the ink was not my jam. The polenta was delicious, though. Got a bottle of white wine which came with an adorable freezing bag. Sat outside on such a lovely night, which is absolutely the way to go. The tables seemed cramped but really the service is so attentive they work everything out so you certainly don't feel cramped. The staff are clearly passionate about this place which made the overall experience just a wonderful choice. One of our best meals in Italy.

The most amazing bread!

I did not want a tourist trap, so researched the best restaurant around and Nevodi keeps coming up. The food here was amazing. The servers were not very attentive but I feel that's how it is in Italy. This was my favorite meal in all of Italy. Was too full for dessert. Make a reservation!

Gnocchi in Duck Ragu

Very tasty! Be sure to get a reservation in advance, they only have two seating windows so it's hard to get in without one!

Burrata salad, house made burrata, ofcourse!

This restaurant was recommended by a young local Venetian who was our tour guide. We called to make early reservations and they graciously accommodated a party of six. The weight staff was excellent explained everything in English and was very helpful to order and also very entertaining as well. We all ordered a prima Plata and Secondi Plata and the servings were moderate to large and everything was delicious. The seasoning preparation and presentation was amazing for a very small restaurant. The wines are very reasonably priced and we enjoyed regional wines both red and white. I think we were one of maybe two very few tourist and clearly a lot of locals frequent this establishment and about an hour after we were seated at 6 PM. The restaurant was packed and stayed packed until we left about 8 PM. Several people came in and were turned away due to the fact that they were full so reservations are highly recommended.

It's extremely delicious. It might be the best restaurant in Venice. Customers kept coming in throughout the whole evening.

Worth the 20 minute walk! Food was absolutely amazing. If you are in Venice you need to visit Navodi. We may have overdone it with the food and desserts but everything was so good we kept ordering more.

Followed the reviews to this restaurant on a very touristy strip and sadly, it was a touristy kind of place. Enjoyed their shrimp and pistachio pasta dish, but it wasn't five stars, and the black cuttlefish dish was almost inedible, such a potent, fishy taste, would not recommend. Best part was the delicious free bread and olive oil. Fun people-watching but that's about it.

This was by far our favorite restaurant in Venice, maybe all of Italy. We discovered it by first going to their pizzeria, it was so good that when we were told of the family's sit down restaurant, we had to go. The food was delicious and used fresh, quality ingredients in inventive ways. The hazelnut mousse was so smooth and the gelato with olive oil drizzle and salt flakes blew our minds and our server was so friendly and welcoming that we too felt like one of the family.

Wonderful food and service! I would revisit this restaurant multiple times if I lived in Italy

Perfect spot for lunch or dinner. The pastas are amazing. A five minute walk from the Biennale, it is worth every step. Service is relaxed, but no need to rush. Sit outside if you can.

Recommended by the hotel concierge this was a fantastic meal. Light, just enough and oh so yummy. From the vegetables and scallops to the main course of buratta stuffed ravioli and pasta of the day nothing was amiss. Service was Italy quick which means slow but Va bene. Inside and outside seating. Extensive wine selection and complete cafe service for your post meal indulgence. Can't go wrong here!

Food is good, especially mussels and oysters, super fresh. If you like some meat, pork shank is recommended, very well cooked with a caramelized coat, inside is still tender. Staffs there are smart and attentive. It's a busy restaurant, but surprisingly not noisy, can eat and talk comfortably.

As soon as we had a room we tossed all our luggage inside and went for a walk. It was about 10pm local time and we were just crossing our fingers hoping to find a good Italian meal. Well our hotel is located on the mainland and unfortunately everything was closed. So we just walked around and while walking down what appeared to be a residential street heard music and stumbled across this hidden gem. It's cute, quite and quaint. The dining room is old world, the chef delivers his food to the table and happily describes his works of art exhausted, perspiring and out of breath, but proud and anxious. We only had a small plate of spaghetti and some wine but it was delicious! It was more than delicious it was the best spaghetti we have had. We ate, drank and talked into the night. The families dining around us ordered plate after plate after plate....... We soaked in the background noise of children and family speaking Italian.......laughing and having a splendid evening. I wish we were here a couple more days so we could go back. If your in the area don't pass this up!

It started off well; they gave us a nice table in the back room even without a reservation. The waitperson brought us menus and came back about 10 minutes later to take our orders. Then we sat... and sat... and sat while several other tables were seated *and* served before we got our food. In fact, the waitperson never came back to check on us or anything! We didn't get our meal until one of my travel companions inquired about how much longer it would be. The couple at the next table had just about finished their meal already! We started to feel that maybe they didn't like tourists since we were the only ones there and we were the only ones ignored. While the service left a whole lot to be desired, the food was reasonably good. I had the grilled branzino and it was only okay; there were lots of bones and it was very plain. A sprinkle of salt and some lemon improved it, but it still wasn't something I'd want again. My companions had the seafood salad and the scallops and they both enjoyed their dishes. The scallops looked especially delicious. If I was ever in this area again, I'd skip this restaurant; I don't like being overlooked!

A combination of a thunderstorm and an early dinner meant the place was empty, but Marco and other staff welcomed us warmly all the same. We had the antipasti Parmigiana Di Melanzane (fried eggplant with cheese) and enjoyed the mains Pasta Al Forno (baked pasta with beef and peas), Pasta Con Le Polpette E Salsa Di Pomodoro (spaghetti with meatballs - not pictured), and Turbante Di Pesce Spada "A Beccafico" (baked swordfish). These were also with the Casa Rosso wine and Birra Siciliana beer both blonde and red. All food was superb. The fried eggplant was flavorful and fresh, and the bread was crispy and savory. The baked pasta was rich, the spaghetti and meatballs were nostalgic, and the swordfish was delectable. Safe to say we all cleared our plates easily. We wish nothing but the very best for Marco and his restaurant. This food was some of the best we had on our two week stay throughout Italy. The atmosphere, staff, and of course the amazing food made for a great experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced homestyle Sicilian meal.

From the moment we arrived, the owner, Marco, made us feel genuinely welcome. He explained that the food is Sicilian and quite different from what you typically find in Venice, which was exactly what we were hoping for after days of similar menus. The menu is short, focused, and built around family recipes. We ordered the pasta of the day, the roast beef, and the smoked salmon dish, and every single item was fantastic. To finish, we had limoncello made by Marco's mother, and it was absolutely delicious. What really made the evening special was Marco and his family. They were warm, kind, and genuinely happy to share their story with us. We loved hearing about his late father and the lasting impact he had on both the family and the restaurant. One of the most memorable parts of the night was joining in the restaurant tradition of coloring pictures and exchanging them with drawings already hanging on the ceiling. We ended up taking home a picture created by a family member, and it will be making the journey back with us to Carlsbad, California. Without a doubt, this was the best dining experience of our entire trip through Europe. Highly recommended!!
