TRIP À TROIS- Fires, Wings, & Balthazar nachos

First restaurant we check out in QC. The area it's in offers many options for restaurants but we went with this one since there appeared to be a lot of people dining. The service was good, staff was accommodating and took our order. The food was less than mediocre for the price that we paid. The sauces that the wings came with were the best part of the dish. Left feeling let down for sure.

The craft beer prices are good. The menu is a bit pricey but the quality matches it. The beer selection is great. The fact you can take a tasting selection for 8$ is a great thing. Specially before committing to a full pint. I would have never picked a full pint of the casket room temp beer. But after a try I was on board. Same for my boyfriend who wasn't sure about a fruit infused beer that ended up being a hit for both of us. With the beer I had the potato donuts. It was amazingly good. Straight from the fryer and served with a maple glaze on the side, it was good. The menu looked really good, but was a bit too pricey for me. (25$ for a salad?) but if you stick to the beer and maybe some appetizer/dessert I'm sure you can have a good time.

This review is a combination of a few visits while traveling in Laval for work over a few weeks. I found this place not only had good food and beer but the atmosphere was also quite awesome. They had great music and when solo sitting at the bar was ideal for catching the game!

Good service, decent menu. Ambiance was lacking but restaurant was half empty since it was the middle of the afternoon.

Serving beers exclusively from Quebec breweries, it is an excellent place to have a tasting of different type of beers or to sip at a local recipe!

Draft beers galore there were like 25 to choose from which is crazy. Tried the Svetly Pilsner which…read morewas solid, Cepage Nectar which was sweet and strong, Cumulus Citra and Galaxy which was very interesting, and Pagaille which was insane like drinking liquified tiramisu. Pretzel was fire and the cheese spread it came with was good.

Working in Montreal for the week and while hunting around for dinner I did my usual Yelp'ing! I…read morediscovered Pub BreWskey near my hotel so I decided to check it out! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: The entrance is kinda off the beaten path and the restaurant is located under what looks like some sort of laboratory. Once down the stairs you're greeted by what feels like an underground speakeasy vibes! There's exposed copper ventilation pipes, exposed warm lightbulbs, raw concrete, wood and quite a few places to sit. I sat at the bar on the metal chairs like all pros do! But off to the side is a set of stairs which leads down to the ACTUAL BREWERY where all of the beer is made! I loved that there were windows in which you could look out of to see the giant vats. Really cool. Service: Dany at the bar took excellent care of me and there was nothing more I could've asked of him. He was attentive, fun and made sure I enjoyed my time there. Food/Drinks: First up I started with their Brew Juice, a beer made right in-house. It was their "beer smoothie". It was sweet, filling, thick, sour and crazy flavorful! Tasted nothing like a beer at all. My first appetizer was the Bacon Jerky which is thick-cut bacon in a beer maple glaze, chili seasonings, sesame seeds and green onions. It was mildly sweet, salty, savory, thick, tender and really, really good and not what I was expecting given the name. My 2nd beer was the Double Goose. This one was deliciously sour, gentle, not too sweet at all or harsh. For my entree I went with their special that was written in chalk on the board! I was the Sandwich of Duck & Lamb. The salad on the side was GREAT! Good bitter greens with rich, robust dressing. The chips the sandwich also came with were seasoned well and had an excellent spicy mayo dipping sauce. Sandwich was GREAT as well! Bread was softer than expected. Rich, buttery flavor. The 2 meats were light and worked well together. The sandwich is called "Sandwich Au Lapin De Cannard", but "lapin" translates to rabbit. Warm, cheesy, comforting, filling. Lil' cajun flavor. Caught a bone or 2 while eating it. It happens. Value: It's a brewery that actually serves food and that's always a plus! All prices are in $CAD. My first 12 oz. beer was $8.75. My 2nd one was $9.00. The bacon jerky was $10.00 and the sandwich with salad and chips was $26.00. Extremely reasonable if you ask me. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Pub BreWskey and I would surely pay this place another visit. Beers rotate all the time so what I had may not even be around by the time you visit. Same goes for the specials on the chalkboard! Thank you for reading and supporting local businesses.

The one I've been to being in Rosemont Chicago. Tried both the blonde and blanche beers, and I definitely preferred the blanche. Also had several food dishes with my family. Multiple pizzas like the Roma and Caprini which were thin crust. Was surprised to find out that the regular "authentic" poutine was vegetarian which made me question the kind of gravy that was used. My cousin had the fish and chips which looked to be mostly batter. Even the fries were battered which was a surprise given the ones in the poutine were not. My aunt had the poke which had a good portion. Our waitress was nice. The service staff wore short shorts on a cold fall day which seemed unnecessary. There was a good crowd of families for a Sunday afternoon. They showed a Toronto-Philly NHL game but no NFL which was surprising even though we were in French Canada.

But, one thing was always very deficient wherever 8bwas going, the service. I used to be the table that stay 3 hours not because they wanted but because the waiter forgot I existed. Because of that, I used to sit at the bar where service was better. Today, after about 2 years (if not more?) of not visiting, I tried again with inside table and I had very good service, which is a very big change! The restaurant is a big bar type with an on-site brewerie. All beer is brewed on-site with seasonal beer. I tried the innovation beer. Good thing is with the special seasonal one, you can get a small sample before buying. Today, the innovation was a white IPA. I don't like the taste of IPA and this beer did had the after taste of IPA. Good thing I could try, I went for the standard white which is like a blue moon with its hint of citrus but with more subtle taste. It was milder. I did like it. I took the 3 brasseurs burger with a poutine. Poutine used to come in a cube shape but now its on a separate small plate. I like it better than t way cause it's way easier to eat. Burger was good with a hint of maple (it does have a maple sauce). As for the poutine, it was 0retty standard poutine. To be honest, It reminded me of the McDonald poutine. We also took the big nachos (you have selection of standard or big). I though big would be something very big like easily shareable but it can easily be a one person meal (which was in that case). It's really not that big. Served with salsa and sour cream.
