I have never seen any of interest to me. This time, they did have a listing for a dishwasher and I believe a plumber. Here's What I Think... They're actually partially run by Rubicon Programs, a non-profit that helps people with employment and a number of other services. When I came by I met the front desk staff who were very friendly and let me know that they don't have any veteran's rep, but can set up an appointment with the local East Bay one. I was impressed by how clean it was and also how organized! Usually these places can get hectic with the amount of people coming in and out but this was a great visit. Thank you friendly staff!

From their reviews, I called to inquire about their process. I was able to schedule an interview the very next day. The interview process took about an hour or so. I had to take a "Skills" test, measuring my computer abilities and had a sit down interview with Sonja. I found the employees at TPC very nice and helpful. The very next day, I received a call from John at TPC and he asked me if I wanted to work a week-long assignment doing light reception work. I jumped on the opportunity. A job is a job. The week-long assignment extended to three weeks, then three months, and finally to a full-time position. I've transitioned from temp reception to management. In fact, TPC has placed a few of my co-workers here with our current employer. Our office continues to use The People Connection for temporary job placements needed for projects. I find the recruiting team at The People Connection to be very friendly, professional, and helpful. A great group who will listen to your needs and try to place you in an environment that suits you. A head's up: TPC works primarily with law offices in the city. Something I learned when I went into my interview. What's crazy is that after being placed at my current employer, I was encouraged to go to law school. Now, I'll be starting law school in the fall.

I never received any good news from them about leads or answers to conversations I had about my career aspirations (where they would be the one getting a commission for placing me) and I am a middle-level manager with a lot of skills. They seem to have a great recruitment model (Indeed, Craigslist, etc) and e-newsletter but there is little to show for it and I am sick of reading the newsletters knowing that it is all spin for their company. They have barely more than 10 listings ever, all for admin or secretary type work.

I heard of this place by going to a mandatory appointment in Redwood city from EDD(I am collecting…read moreunemployment). They told me about all the offices in the peninsula that we can get help to get a job. This one in Daly City actually have a new schedule every month to show all their workshops like writing your resume, introduction to computer, email, excel, word and powerpoint, how to ace a phone interview, etc. They also have special programs/workshop for youth (14-21) and job seekers that are Age 55+. You can also use their computer to go online(job searching only). While these are not to my advantage at all... I think they are very good resources for some people in need of help. well I have not been to the workshops and I can't comment on how good they are, but I did make use of their drop-in career counseling 1:30pm to 3:30pm tue to thurs, first come first serve - call to make sure the schedule stays the same). It's a one on one feedback on your resume and interviewing skills + receive job search tips. Mainly I would like someone to look through my resume. I was worried about format and grammar and just want some opinions. He was professional and give me some pointers on the resume... and answered any questions I had. Like I said I did not have high expectation so I really appreciate the help. The receptionist was really nice and helpful also... I am really glad I went.
