I applied for a job and completed a brief phone interview where we discussed my résumé and the job details. I was advised to update my résumé, which I promptly did and emailed back to the recruiter, John. I was told the company would likely want to speak with me, but I never received any follow-up communication. I find the lack of response disappointing and unprofessional. read more

After spending a summer living abroad, I came back to San Francisco. I needed a job and quick. I have never used a temp/recruiting agency before and I found TPC on Yelp. From their reviews, I called to inquire about their process. I was able to schedule an interview the very next day. The interview process took about an hour or so. I had to take a "Skills" test, measuring my computer abilities and had a sit down interview with Sonja. I found the employees at TPC very nice and helpful. The very next day, I received a call from John at TPC and he asked me if I wanted to work a week-long assignment doing light reception work. I jumped on the opportunity. A job is a job. The week-long assignment extended to three weeks, then three months, and finally to a full-time position. I've transitioned from temp reception to management. In fact, TPC has placed a few of my co-workers here with our current employer. Our office continues to use The People Connection for temporary job placements needed for projects. I find the recruiting team at The People Connection to be very friendly, professional, and helpful. A great group who will listen to your needs and try to place you in an environment that suits you. A head's up: TPC works primarily with law offices in the city. Something I learned when I went into my interview. What's crazy is that after being placed at my current employer, I was encouraged to go to law school. Now, I'll be starting law school in the fall. read more

Nice people and they usually called about once or twice a week with opportunities. Heck, they called me with two temp jobs after I met with them the first time. I had a somewhat challenging schedule and then found a permanent job on my own, so I never had the chance to temp with them. I did think the temp jobs they were offering (yes, mostly for law firms) were relatively well-paying. If you're a person looking for law work, or just looking for any kind of work and can't stand the thought of retail, this would the perfect place to go. read more

I went to several staffing agencies but did not expect that People Connection would be the one to land me a great career with a very reputable company. Other staffing agencies either gave me the cold shoulder or just didn't seem to do much. People Connection often kept in touch about possible opportunities while getting me temp jobs here and there. Most of their clients are law firms and my work experience was outside of that industry which is why I was surprised that they found my current job for me (especially during the recession). During my search I tried to follow up on a weekly basis. They did a good job of following up with me as well and kept a very good relationship with me. read more

Absolutely best temp agency in SF, hands down, and I am some temping fool. They keep you busy, maintain great communication to be sure everything is going well, and they pay bonuses and lunch reimbursements. I've dealt with tons of temp agencies and PC is far and away the very best. read more

The People Connection will take care of you. I had just graduated from university and found this agency on LinkedIn when Cat started working there. I had a great experience! John and Cat are friendly, professional, and effective. John took the time to ask the right questions and worked with me to find an opportunity. Within a few weeks I had an interview and got offered a job. The warmth, attention to detail, and quick results of the agency made job seeking way more effective and enjoyable than searching on my own. This is a quality agency with quality people and if you are struggling to find something on your own, I highly recommend recruiting these amazing individuals for help. read more

I enjoyed my time working with this agency. John was always very supportive and helpful. I have never had any problems with payments and feedback. I only had a problem once when worked for one of their partners. But as soon as I reported a very unprofessional behavior of my direct supervisor - agency understood and helped me out finding more suitable job. Be professional when coming to The People Connection and they will fully support you. read more

Hi Yelp! This is a great agency to connect with. I know that one gets mixed results and experiences with agencies in the Bay Area but I can vouch that this is a good one where you can expect attentive and excellent customer service, results - they were sending me on solid interviews, and experienced Recruiters. I think my last note regarding experience is the most remarkable, you will meet with a seasoned professional well versed in recruiting and agency interviewing. Tons of recruiters have less than a year of experience and they don't even make it to a year, there are seasoned and top-notch staff that know their stuff at People Connection. If you are looking to work with a staffing agency, this is definitely one to register with. If you are a CLIENT, know that they are thorough. As a candidate I had to complete a 7 page application that asked me about everything but my sword size; take tests in word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook, typing and general office knowledge; go through a comprehensive but friendly interview; and they checked my references. I passed and was offered an interview and informed that if I was selected they would conduct a background check. Candidates, bring your A-game, but know it's worth the effort! Thanks for your review and good luck with this awesome Firm!! -Brandon read more

I joined People Connection in the beginning of 2010. At first, I was looking for work in the legal field, preferably as a paralegal. The market is at an awful place. To add to the difficulty of obtaining a job, I am a recent Cal graduate with little prior work experience. Despite the bad economy and lack of relative work experience, People Connection sent me out on an interview at an engineering firm and since then I have been happily employed :) The firms they sent you out on are all really great: clean, organized, well established and have a wonderful reputation. I highly recommend People Connection. They follow up with your interviews and check in on you every week. They are amazing! read more

I got a job from here not long ago. The stuffs was great nice and clearly every detail. All of my processing before I start work my job just took me about 2 weeks. This is the great place that you can recommend your friends or yourself who looking for professional to help you to find a job!!! My first job in USA Yeah ^_^ read more

This is a good agency to work with. Primarily the jobs are for law firms but they do have admin jobs available as well. The firm is small but they really know their employees. They do an excellent job following up and checking up how you are with a phone call every Friday from the owner herself. They give out little bonuses also. It helps when you are temping long term. read more

Sonia and John found a great job for me! I am very happy with my experience there. Only downfall is-- they do not offer direct deposit for my paycheck but hey whatever!! read more

I highly suggest these guys! I was interviewed by Jon, who was extremely nice, talkative, and helpful. The next week they called to check in with me and let me know about jobs they had available. They lose would have lost a star because they found me a job that started two weeks after we talked (and I need to eat and pay rent), but the job they found me was a great place to work. They also call every week to check in and see how you are doing and seem extremely genuine about my well being. They are also up front and gave me a price list of the type of work and what it payed. I'm extremely happy with their services and the continued support. read more

I joined Yelp just so I could write this review. Jean, John, and Sonja are as good as it gets! After a long break, I was ready to come back to the legal profession in 2009. Unfortunately, the recession was in full swing and there weren't many options out there. I applied to countless firms, solo practioners, temp gigs, and even a few government jobs. Finally I started applying at various temp agencies, figuring I'd get my foot in the door, but I could never have expected what was to come. I applied to The People Connection on a Wednesday, had an interview Thursday and my first job on Friday! During the interview I met Jean, John and Sonja, took some skills tests (typing, math, internet, etc) and got an overview of the company. On Friday I worked a desk for a long term client (large firm) and John called in the afternoon to ask if I could work again the following week for a three day job. My next job was supposed to be a month long (it actually carried over!). How lucky was I to get a month long assignment in one of the toughest markets of our time?! Especially in a midsize firm specializing in all sorts of law areas - some in which I was interested and had a wealth of experience, and others where I was able to develop even more skills - and I WAS GETTING PAID! Added benefits: This team actually cares about you and the client and will accomodate your schedule and the client's requirements. I knew I wanted to go to law school when I started with The People Connection, and although I can't work during the regular school year, they have been awesome at accomodating my break schedule and finding me jobs when I've called. Someone calls every week to check in and make sure the job is working for you, and when you collect your paycheck every week you can be sure they are there and excited to see you. The pay is better than some firms offer entry level staffers, and the team is consistently looking to place employees in great firms. read more

I registered with people connection earlier this year. They can't guarantee you an assigment, but if they have a position available to you they will contact you. I worked for them for 2 days back in may and now I am in a long term assigment with them in a great company. They treat you like human beings and you really feel you are employed by a regular company not a temp agency (sick pay, lunch bonys, etc). Definately should register with them. I got a great resume feedback from John. Jean and Sonja are a pleasure to work with. read more

When I arrived there the office was large and EMPTY with only 3 people working. Although they say that they also recruit for administrative type work they primarily get orders for legal. It has been months and although they said I had a lot of excellent skills, they have yet to call me with anything although I call weekly and even email. So unless you're into specifically legal or finance, don't bother wasting your time here. read more

I registered with this crappy so called agency eight months ago. The agent I interviewed with was John Dorning and all I have ever gotten from him every single time I have called in to see if there is any work for me is" Nothings in and its been quiet, nothings in and its been quiet, nothings in and its been quiet". I mean every single time I call it is the same thing from him. He sounds like a broken record. One would ponder to think if there is nothing in it is time to get out and start pounding the pavement and getting accounts in to their office. There are WAY better agency's in the city of San Francisco to look for a job then The People Connection. read more

I've temped with The People Connection off and on since 2000. They have always found more jobs and at better rates than any other agency I've worked for. I've done temp and temp-to-perm with them. They work with law firms, but also with several non-profits around the city. The bonuses, such as paid 30 min lunch and a day off after you've worked 1,000 (I think) hours are great. read more

This is a long overdue review for John Doring, Sonja and Jean at the People Connection. I have worked on and off with the People Connection since June 2011. They had me come in for an interview within a day or two of initially calling them. I went in and took some tests and met with John for what was one of the best interviews I've ever been on - it was more like a conversation with an old friend. Within a couple days after the interview he had me out on a temp assignment that went from a two week gig to a couple months. I was even offered a full time position through that firm (which I did not accept). I have always felt that they were looking out for my interests, not just of their clients. And they were always accommodating of my schedule if I was unable to take a long term temp assignment. As others have mentioned, they were fantastic with communicating with me on a weekly basis and resolving any issues that arose during an assignment. The best part about the People Connection is that they did not make me feel pressured to take the first full time offer I received. In fact, I turned down a couple offers of turning the temp assignment into a temp-to-hire. Even more impressive was that John was the one who delicately turned down the offer with those firms for me (and didn't tell them the real reasons I didn't want to go full time at those firm.) Kind of like breaking up with a boyfriend/girlfriend for you - cool, right?! When I temped at a firm where I finally felt like I could see myself full-time, John tirelessly and patiently talked me through the negotiating process. This was even though they were not getting a commission since I had already temped at this firm for 12 weeks. I ended up with a salary I am very happy with by taking his advise and not letting the firm's HR department rush the negotiations. The People Connection has built up a positive and close relationship with many law firms in SF. If I am ever back on the job hunt you bet the first place I'm going to is the People Connection. read more

Horrible service. Clearly have paid and got their friends/family to write a good yelp reviews. Guy picked up the phone and didn't know what programming was (they're from san francisco?) when I tried to move to San Fran get work as a developer. No surprise with their stock image heavy website. read more
