I've had a great experience with the team at Scion Staffing. The staff is friendly, helpful, and provided great service with strong communication. Highly recommend them for staffing and recruiting if you need qualified people. Despite the negative reviews from some people on here, Scion really does do a great job at what they do. Everyone's experience is different, and not every experience will be great, but leaving negative reviews because you didn't get a job you wanted or because you think they're "using AI to steal" personal information (that you put on an application, btw) is so disingenuous. Scion is a solid alternative to the massive staffing firms that only care about hitting their quotas and being a revolving door for staffing. read more

This is an awful search firm. A recruiter named Ex Hopson reached out to me multiple time to apply for a role. It was an Executive Director opportunity, and I need to fill out a long questionnaire detailing my leadership experience with 15 questions that took me over an hour to complete. After doing so, he gave me no feedback. I remailed for a couple of week and he finally response with some unclear response about whether they were considering me. Don't ever use this Firm or this recruiter. read more

In the past, I was reluctant on going through staffing agencies, but working with ScionStaffing has been great. Nhi has been very helpful throughout and reliable. I learned that not only do they listen to their employee feedback, they cared about their employees on an individual level. At the location I was assigned to, we would frequently run low on Covid prevention supplies and Nhi would always check-in to make sure we were stocked up. Unlike other staffing agencies I've worked with, I never had any issues trying to reach Nhi or anyone at ScionStaffing. It definitely eases the mind to know that you don't have to wait several days to get a response. When I had been hired by the company I was assigned at, it was a bit sad parting ways with ScionStaffing. I really appreciated all the help and support I received during my employment with them and would gladly recommend them to a friend. Look for Nhi when you apply. read more

I applied for a position via Scion Staffing. The application sequence itself went well. Scion Staffing set up meetings and guided me through a series of four interviews and a written assignment. I was however very concerned when I subsequently learned from Scion staff members that Scion Staffing does not transmit candidates' application materials directly to the organizations to which candidates apply. Instead, Scion Staffing reworks candidates' application materials by pulling out sections they consider most relevant and combining those sections to produce a candidate portfolio - which they send out to organizations and firms. As someone who is meticulous about my work, and spends a great deal of time and effort crafting my cover letter and other written application materials, it was disconcerting to learn that Scion Staffing is reworking my materials as they see fit, then transmitting their version of my materials to the organization to which I applied, without informing me or giving me the opportunity to review their rework of my materials. As a result of this practice, several of the people with whom I interviewed reported that they had not received critical elements of my application and were not aware of elements of my background and experience that were pertinent to the position to which I had applied. I had to address this problem myself by sending my complete application materials to my interviewers after the interview, because they requested that I do so. Problems intensified after I had gone through the grueling sequence of interviews. At that point, the organization to which I had applied decided to eliminate the position. That organization set up a call directly with me and explained that my skills were strong and aligned with the position, that I was their choice of candidate, but that they had decided to completely rethink their internal organization and that the position to which I had applied would no longer exist under their new structure. Scion Staffing wrote me with a different explanation: They wrote me stating that the position had been filled (it was eliminated, not filled), and that the reason I was not hired was because my skills were inadequate. This does not reflect the feedback I received from the organization to which I applied. In my view, it is incumbent upon Scion Staffing to conduct due diligence for the positions they advertise. They should not be advertising positions that are subsequently eliminated, after candidates have been through a lengthy, time-consuming application process. Also, they should ensure that their messaging is aligned with that of their client organizations. And they should not attempt to hide their own failure to adequately screen client organizations by misrepresenting the status of eliminated positions or attempting to blame candidates when their client organizations decide to eliminate a position without filling it. Due diligence to ensure that advertised positions are legitimate and viable is the responsibility of a staffing firm such as Scion Staffing. For the reasons I have elaborated here, I advise caution to any firms or candidates considering working with Scion Staffing. read more

I have had nothin short of a great experience with Scion Staffing. In particular Karina Lozano. She has helped me every step of the way. She is not my direct staffing agent but she treats me as if i am. I can call here if I have any problem or concerns. And has reached out to me multiple time just to see how I like the job. And mainly her concern about covid and making sure I am comfortable with the work conditions I am currently I. I would recommend Scion staffing to anyone looking for a good hard working staffing agency that has your best interest in mind at all times. And if you happen to be blessed with working with Karina like I have you will see she is absolutely amazing. Thank you Karina for the amazing opportunity. read more

Isaac from Scion Staffing has spent a good deal of time and effort trying to get me to either remove or change my review of Scion via the Yelp email system and my private email account. He said my review is hurtful to his company. I have pointed out to Isaac, that he, himself, has written poor reviews of other businesses here on Yelp when he believes they have provided bad service. And I see no reason to change mine as I feel I was provided with extremely poor customer service by Scion. An additional item of interest is that both Isaac and his partner at Scion had posted 5 Star reviews of Scion until these review were removed by Yelp after being notified that both reviewers were owners of the business. read more

Scion Staffing is not only a great staffing agency but a very valuable network for your career! Nhi and Adolfo connected me with a fantastic job and introduced me to various contacts and tools that helped me grow as a professional. I had a really positive experience with Scion. Their staff seems to genuinely care about understanding the needs of clients and employees alike in order to make quality matches. I worked with a few different recruiters but had the best experience here. I found my now-permanent position (I started as a temp) thanks to Lexi at Scion, and it is truly a match made in heaven. When I initially met Lexi, she really took the time to understand my interests and goals. She asked me a lot of questions that other recruiters didn't get into, she really listened to me, she kept in touch with me afterwards, and when this opportunity came up she recognized that it would be a great fit - and it was! The timing was fortunate as well, but I couldn't be more grateful to Scion, not only for helping me find a job that I love but for building an actual relationship with me and making the job-hunting experience a little bit less daunting. If you're job hunting, you want Scion advocating for you. read more

I've been with Scion Staffing for about five months as a placement. I contacted them with my resume and standard cover letter and Scion sharpened them up and made them way more presentable. Tina was extremely helpful in coaching me with my resume. Karina then very helpfully coached me in the interview process, simply and with a great amount of esteem-building. First I was placed into a project toward its end, and was made very aware that the position would be temporary if I accepted it which was totally fine. Then I was moved to another position and am about to be converted and hired by the company. It's great! I relocated to SF in May and unfortunately had to leave my job in Chicago behind. I saw a Scion job posting on Craigslist a few months back and sent in my resume. Angela Cronin contacted me immediately and set up a time for me to come in and meet with her and Scion's intern Sarah. I quickly felt at ease with Angela - I felt like she really "got" me and was actually listening to what my experience/background was like and what type of environment I wanted for my next position. She also gave me some helpful tips on my resume - it's been 6 years since I last job-hunted, and the ol' resume was a little dusty. However, the best part of my Scion experience is that Angela then remained in regular contact over the next few months, informing me about various temp and permanent opportunities for which she thought I might be a fit. This communication set her apart from the other recruiters with which I worked. In the end I found my current job through a friend, but I hold Angela in very high regard. I think she really tried to find me a good match, but there just wasn't anything perfectly suited during the time that we worked together. Should I find myself in need of job-hunting assistance again, I won't hesitate to call her! read more

My experience with Scion Staffing has been nothing short of amazing. Their staff, especially Angela & Lexi are sincere, personable, and genuine. They truly care about submitting you to positions that best fit your skills, expertise, needs and personality. Initial phone screen: Lexi does a wonderful job at really getting a strong sense of your background, expertise, skills, and most importantly your personality & needs. She really takes a grasp of what will best suit you if/when there are positions available. Interview Process: Angela found the perfect position that was best suited for MY personality, wants, needs and of course expertise & skills. Although we played a lot of phone tag, that did not stop Angela from being there for me. She would leave VM's or emails with great interview tips, encouraging words and positive vibes. For anyone, job searching & interviewing is a very stressful time, but Angela is definitely the recruiter that has your best interest in mind. She will prep you before your interview(s) so you are confident going in, and keeps an honest communication between their Client and you. In the end, Lexi & Angela did an amazing job. I received the job offer! Words cannot describe how appreciative I am of them and Scion Staffing. (SO if Angela & Lexi are reading this THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!) To also give a bonus feature for them. During my job search I was actually employed with the largest staffing agency in the USA. I had so many resources & opportunities for my employer to find me a position but as I had a positive experience with Scion Staffing before I would still choose Scion Staffing's services & recruitment process over my past employer (part of the Allegis Group). Knowing the processes of how the industry works it's interesting on how different both are. Since Scion Staffing is a boutique staffing agency they really do get to know you for you. For example with Lexi, digging into what I want in a position (outside of compensation) Lexi concentrated on questions that focused on me as a person & not just a resume, which is such a key component in an agency's sincerity to the job seeker. Scion Staffing is a great place to receive assistance with your job search and I would highly recommend them to any job seeker out there. read more

I've worked with several staffing agencies as a temporary worker (early in my career) and more recently as a business person looking for assistance in finding quality applicants. Having had experience working with mega-agencies and boutique firms, I much prefer the smaller organization that actually takes the time to listen to and respond to my needs without making me feel like they're selling me a line so they can make some money off of me. I've been extremeley impressed by Scion and the people they've connected me with so far. they're definitely on my list of go to services in sf! read more

Angela was friendly and very helpful in reviewing my resume, setting up interviews, and preparing me before the interviews. She kept me in the loop on job opportunities that fit my qualifications. I now successfully work in an amazing company that fits my personality and job needs thanks to Scion. ...Natasha, Maria and supporting staff. I've given it some time before reviewing Scion so that I could see the whole job process and stability of the new found employment play out. It's been about, oh gosh time goes by so I'd have to guess, 7ish months now that I've been at this company. I will admit that I had to be patient to find the right employment opportunity, but I could tell that Scion was always working towards finding a successful fit for me and my future/now current employers. I feel Scion cared about my well being as a person, which has prompted me to create a yelp acct to say thank you :) Thanks guys! read more

I applied through Scion Staffing in June 2010. It was then that I was called in by Maria and invited to visit the office. Once I arrived, I found out that Scion Staffing had moved to another location, but I was never informed of this. The receptionist at the company that was occupying the building was kind enough to look up their address for me and print me out a map. I then had to sprint through downtown San Francisco in hopes of making it to my appointment in time and not making that terrible "I'm late, but its not my fault, really!" impression. When I met with Maria at the new Scion Staffing location, she was very upbeat and optimistic about my resume, but gave me the usual, "The economy is kind of slow right now..." spiel, which was understandable. A few days later, I was offered an opportunity to interview with an organization the same day. Little did I know that on my way to the interview, my car brakes were locking up and it was my luck that it happened on a way to an interview. Needless to say, I arrived at the interview late - yeah - and of course wouldn't be offered a position. I was a little disappointed that I was not made aware of what I was interviewing for - it turned out that it was the Muscular Dystrophy Association, but Maria never informed me of this, so everyone who was interviewing with me was aware of what Muscular Dystrophy was and how to pronounce it and I was sitting there like a lame duck, thinking, "Huh?" That was the last I ever heard from Scion Staffing. Numerous attempts to resubmit my resume for positions have been left unanswered. I would have at least appreciated better follow up, at least an acknowledgement of having received my edited resumes and follow-ups. I think at the end of the day its simple professionalism, but I do realize that these agents are busy helping other more desirable clients find work. read more

I'm sorry to do this I don't like giving bad reviews but I did not have a good experience with Scion Staffing. I first attempted to get assistance in finding a position in San Francisco by sending them my resume and no one got back to me. There was then a position posted on LinkedIn I was qualified for and sent my resume over again. I met with one of the recruiters and had an interview set up with in a week. The position ended up changing and the organization went a different direction however the recruiter was incredibly unprofessional. At the interview I knew within 60 seconds that the woman had already chosen she was not going to hire me. Like I said the organization decided to go a different direction and I got the impression that she wasn't even sure why the recruiter had sent me over to interview. After the interview I was supposed to call my recruiter and we were to talk about how it went. I called and left her a voicemail but never heard back. I sent her an email the next day and a few days later she got back to me because it turns out she decided to take the end of the week off and failed to inform me. After that I never heard from her again on whether or not I got the position or if there were other positions open for me that I was qualified for. Needless to say it was a waste of my time and the employers time. read more

I'm pretty confident all the positive reviews of this place are paid advertisements, because they sure as hell aren't actually helpful. I submitted a resume by email, called them up, and didn't get any response. Two days later I followed up and was told they don't have anything for me. REALLY? A staffing company telling a prospective employee they - and this is an exact quote - " I do not have a potential opportunity for you", and the only reason they even informed me was because I followed up after they ignored my initial application If I could use zero stars I would. I saw a job posting for a payroll specialist job on indeed.com. So I went ahead and submitted my resume to the recruiter. It turns out to be Scion Staffing. I got an email from Tina Posner. Everything seems professional at first. I answered her questionnaire and setup a phone appointment with her. She called me today and basically kept jabbing at my different experiences I've had in the past! And questioned why I have gaps in between jobs! She even suggested perhaps Payroll isn't my profession anymore since it's been five years that I've done it! She is a piece of work! Stereotyping hard working applicants wow! Way to go Scion! I taught we are suppose to work with each other to accomplish a goal! No thanks! I wont be reaching out to her for any future work! I heard about Scion from another of their employees who recommended me to Angela. Angela called me in for an interview right away. She gave lots of good information about the position, company, and hiring manager, and also her sense of what preparation would be necessary. Thanks to her tutoring, I went into the interview confident that I knew what was expected. I have been working through Scion for 4+ months now, and Angela has continued to be very responsive to all my questions. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend them. The only reason I give 4 rather than 5 stars is that the contract Scion has with the company I'm working for is not very flexible in terms of contract-to-hire options. read more

I would highly recommend Scion Staffing for anyone who's serious about looking for a job. I've worked with a handful of temp and recruitment agencies in the past and I have to say Scion clearly stands above the rest. They are the first agency that I've encountered that really cares about you as an individual rather than just a number or a stat. They really listen to what you're looking for and respect your limitations. The hands-on management style of their small, but amazing team is nothing but top-notch. They've not only helped me tailor my resume and placed me in an amazing job, they've helped change how I look at myself and my work experience. I highly recommend them and cannot rave about them enough!!! read more

Thank you Scion! Scion Staffing is a great staffing agency filled with friendly people who truly want to help you. I went to Scion when I first moved back to San Francisco, June 2009. I worked at an early stage venture capital firm for almost a full year which was a unique opportunity as a first career job. Braden and Isaac were nice enough to remind me every week to turn in my time sheet. They were never annoyed and always caring about how I was doing and feeling in the job. When I was ready to start applying for other positions, in a time of the recession, they were supportive by reviewing and giving me excellent feedback about my resume and cover letter. I signed on with Scion Staffing in December of 2012 and things seemed like they would be fantastic! They told me they would help place me in a full-time, communications position. Well, it's been about 9 months later and Scion is yet to place me with a permanent position nor give me any long-term contracts. To date, they have given me an average of 3 DAYS per month of work (I worked exactly one day in May, June, July, and August). Every interview (and job I've been offered) in the past 9 months has been of my own accord. Scion might be great at landing people jobs if those people are extremely qualified in tech/non-profit but not much else. If you're young and know your career trajectory, they aren't that much of a help. While on the job, I don't feel as if Angela and Lexi fight for you. It seems that they are always on the recruiter's side which doesn't make me all that comfortable if they are supposed to have my best interest at heart. Angela screens calls and Lexi is shy about following-up. All in all, I would have appreciated them a lot more if they were upfront and honest recruiters. They simply aren't. read more
