Why are all your positions for legal secretaries HYBRID remote. I have been working remotely for 3 years. There is no reason for me to go into an office 2-3 days a week. Tell your stupid firms that they are losing out to very excellent qualified candidates by not offering fully remote positions. I also don't understand all these ridiculous 4-5 star reviews. I don't understand these 1-star reviews. Lois will eat your children? What? How is that a review to be taken seriously? I've used Anderson staffing more than a few times throughout my various periods of unemployment, and even when I'm employed full-time Lois has kept in touch just to see how I'm doing. I love the personal attention I get when I go there and Lois has a lot of energy and puts a lot of hard work in for you, especially if things are looking grim. She's definitely pulled a rabbit out of a hat on more than a couple occasions to keep me afloat here in the city and for that I owe her indefinite gratitude. Lois primarily staffs temp and fulltime positions at suit and tie cube jobs, law firms and finance stuff etc, but even though I work in the film industry she's more than once put out her feelers to find me something closer to my field. I'm seriously baffled by the negative reviews here, I've never had a stranger pull so much weight for me without me paying them a dime. After going over my qualifications she talked with the employer and I was sent to their office for an interview were I was extended an offer. I worked with several temp/staffing agencies and many of them don't have a genuine concern about the people they provide employment for. I don't understand all the great reviews. I guess Anderson is paying someone. My experience is Anderson is that they will contact me about every 6 months looking to place a temp assignment. I informed Anderson that I am available at times throughout the year and silence. Not even a "thank you for contacting us" then bam, 3-4 months later they contact me begging me to take a temp assignment. I was on a temp assignment and they asked me to quit to go to another assignment. Only thing Anderson is concerned about getting that fee and nothing else. If you want a reliable agency go to Robert Half. They may be big corporate, but they get you jobs. read more

I should have read the reviews here more carefully. I should have paid attention to the flashing yellow (and in some cases, red) lights. Unfortunately, for me, Anderson Staffing was quite useless when it comes to properly registering or finding assignments. I emailed a resume to Youlanda and Kerri mentioning that I was looking for temporary work. When I met with Youlanda (for a whole five minutes) she informed me that she only handled permanent direct-hire and that the front desk admin, Nathan, was the temporary recruiter. (I came in on Tuesday after sending my resume the previous Friday and the Anderson site showed Kerri as a recruiter. Apparently, things changed quickly.) After all my temp experience, I knew this wasn't a good sign. Nathan simply shook my hand and sent me on my way (really). Later, I inquired because I had not filled out any tax forms or received any materials. I was asked to come in again and complete the forms. There was only one of the forms available when I came in. Again later when I called for a status, I was told, "We're making calls and looking for jobs." (So, the jobs listed on their website aren't real?) Eventually, I cut these characters loose. I have been working with Anderson Staffing off and on for the past three years. They found me a great temporary position that ended up lasting a lot longer than expected, which worked out quite well. After moving out of town for a few years, I returned to San Francisco and Lois welcomed me back with open arms. As soon as I returned she worked diligently to find me a position. She consistently updates me on future interviews and positions she has available, which have resulted in both temporary and longer lasting contracts. Of course when working with recruiters the work can be sporadic, but both Lois and Jonathan are always searching for a position that they feel I would enjoy and succeed at. I am not sure why people are hating on Lois so much. EVERY recruiter is out to make money, I'm sorry if you are not intelligent enough to realize that, but that is how they make a living, by placing people and getting a commission. Also, if one of her employees screws you over or does not behave in a professional manner, SAY SOMETHING TO LOIS, do not just bash her on Yelp in a cowardly manner. That being said, I honesty have NEVER had an issue with Anderson Staffing. Here is why I recommend them: 1) When I was looking for work Lois actually HIRED ME ON as part-time on her team until she found something full time for me 2) Lois placed me at a great small sized law firm in downtown SF and she was dead on with matching me with that firm. I stayed there for almost 3 years until I went back to school and to this day think it was one of the best jobs I have ever had. 3) When I returned from SoCal and desperate for work, it took Lois literally 2 weeks, yes, 2 weeks, to place me at a national firm in San Francisco. This was a full-time contract to hire gig and I was immediately brought on after my contract was up. Honestly, any recruiter is going to have you take a typing test no matter how many years experience you have, and yes, a recruiter is going to try to get you a job quickly that may or may not lead to something full time. It is up to YOU as the candidate to make sure you inform the recruiter what your goals are, what type of work you are searching for, whether or not you are going to take a one day or 3 week assignment, etc.. read more
