EMPLOYERS: STAY CLEAR OF THESE JOKERS. Their incentive is to get you an employee as fast as possible with an inflated salary. They sent me an accountant who doesn't know what a Balance Sheet is. They gave her an assessment that she scored an 86% on. After some forensic work on my end, I saw the test questions and OH MY GOD. Anyone with half a brain could've easily scored a passing grade. After bringing this to their attention, the recruiter's response was, "Robert Half is a 2.4 Billion dollar company, obviously we know what we're doing." I had the WORST experience with Officeteam in Walnut Creek and I want to warn people to steer clear! I originally signed up with a staffing consultant that then quickly went on a leave of absence. I was completely ignored and my calls inquiring about work went unreturned. I was so ready to go to work and my interview and tests went really well and I was told that I was a very desirable candidate. Finally someone called me from the Pleasanton office offering me work but they said my references hadn't been checked. But I knew for sure that they had! So I had them re-checked but by then the job went to someone else. Then I found out that the consultant that I had signed up with had quit so I was given to another person. But then he also quit!! So then Officeteam wanted me to come in and re-do all of my paperwork and re-check my references! Never mind that it's only been 3 months since I first signed up with them. I think that just because there are a lot more people looking for jobs right now than jobs it doesn't give mismanaged agencies like this the right to treat people like crap. read more

I have recommended to my friends and family that is best to register online first! So far, my friends have commented that OfficeTeam has called them to set-up a time and date to come in and complete the necessary paperwork and testing (MS, Excel, PPT, etc) can be done online or in the office. Terrible agency located in Walnut Creek/Santa Rosa/San Francisco. Nobody returns my call. They just keep on sending me emails for job opportunities but when you call, they don't answer and goes directly to their voicemail, and you never get a call back. I sent my resume on numerous job opportunities for which I am qualified for in their website but never got a single call back. I had to call and follow up and the one person I spoke on the phone said I need to register with them first and do all the paperwork. I did this on two occasions already. Oh, and the other two reps reached out to me once and never called me back on the status of my application after I completed all the necessary paperwork including reference and my last four digits of my SSN. Robert Half has been terrible from the start many years ago. Very, very unprofessional. They definitely need improvement in their process or let the bad reps go; otherwise, it's better to close their company! They will never get you a job or place you on one! Do not apply there and don't let them help you because they will not. read more

Research before you agree to an in-office interview. Officeteam/Robert Half will ask your boss when they call for a reference if they would hire you back. If they would, you're in, but if they don't/don't comment/won't comment, OfficeTeam won't work with you. I spent over 2 hours at the Walnut Creek office filling out forms and taking tests and then was told at the very end of the interview that if your last place of employment wouldn't hire you back that Officeteam wouldn't work with you. I'd think that a deal breaker like that would be the FIRST thing they'd say to you so they don't waste your time or their time. I've signed up with 2 other agencies and explained my situation and both places said that they could work with me no problem. I get why OfficeTeam has this rule in place, however, they need a disclaimer or something when they contact you about an interview so they don't waste your time or their time (or your money...$8 to park in the parking garage). Also, I read a lot of reviews about how different job placement offices didn't get them interviews or work, the most useful advice the staffing consultant I interviewed with gave me was that a job placement place was meant to be used as a resource, NOT A CRUTCH! So, instead of just signing up with someone and waiting for them to call, get out and actually look yourself too! (Getting off soapbox) So 2-stars for my experience. I just recently applied to this Temp Agency, and I met with Amber, I passed my Microsoft Word, Excel, and Data Entry test with scores at 90% above. I am praying and hoping they find placement for me. I have the credentials, and the experience, but I have not been placed yet. I just interviewed last Thursday, but I do know sometimes they find placements for folks asap. I e-mailed one of their staffing agents named Maya in San Francisco on Thursday there was an Administrative Position that had been posted, and I e-mailed her all of the necessary documents, and the website stated that no one had applied yet, only me but I never received a response. So I called and left a message and still no response, then I called again on Friday and Maya answered and told me the position had already been filled although it was posted on their website the following Thursday. Maya did call me today and asked me if I wanted to work one day for a company doing Data Entry, but I need to pay rent one day for most likely $15.00 with used gas, would not be worth it. I am hoping for something, if not I am hoping for an honest reason why they not be able to find placement for me. I have been working about 4 temp agency and none of them seem to ever find work for me. Its really disheartening. And this $15.00 hour among employers is a truly sad for the cost of living in the Bay Area, I have a B.A. and M.A. all that money for school and when it comes to getting a job, those credentials mean nothing to employers. I met with Erika in September 2016. She seemed nice; however, upon reviewing my resume she said that I shouldn't put too much experience on my resume due to the majority of employers seeking millennials. I was shocked; was this ageism?! She also said my salary requirements were too high for the locale. She said she would follow up with me but I never heard back from her. I did secure a position on my own in San Ramon for the salary I requested; however, after six months it wasn't the right fit for me and the commute was challenging. Thereafter I applied for a position posted by OfficeTeam. Rachel followed up with me and I sent her my resume in anticipation for a physical meeting the following week. Needless to say, I never heard from Rachel to set up the meeting. I contacted her to follow up to which she replied with an apology and an attempt to reschedule. I replied with a couple of dates that would be good -- that was on July 5; it is now July 13 and I am without a reply. I have great solid administrative skills so what is the problem? This type of treatment from both Erika and Rachel is not the level of service I expected from OfficeTeam nor should it be the standard. Needless to say, with what I have been shown in terms of the level of customer service is very poor. I see many job posts from Robert Half and OfficeTeam that I feel I am qualified; however, with the experience I have had with OfficeTeam, I am hesitant to apply. read more

I originally registered with the OfficeTeam branch of RHI and was interviewed by them (they are in the same office as Accountemps), but my information was passed on to Charla Cameron. Charla is AWESOME - she found me a project that lasted a good 60 working days at Wells Fargo, where I was able to meet great people and earn a nice paycheck. She is very personable, enthusiastic, and eager to get you to work. Talk about follow up skills, Charla has the energy and drive to get back to you - even if its to tell you that you're out of luck and that there isn't any work for you. I was recently laid off due to lack of work from the Wells Fargo project but I keep in touch with Charla, who always gets back to me within 24 hours just to touch bases and make sure I'm doing "okay." I can't say that about other temp agencies, so I am very happy to recommend Accountemps as a resource in your job hunt. Hopefully you'll have as much luck as I've had! Not only are they quite professional but truly care about helping people land gainful employment rife with remunerative wages (all evident in their helpful seminar months ago with interviews, cover letters, resumes, etc.). Only gripes I have are sometimes they don't return voicemails as promptly, such as if leaving a message about availability and a strange policy on updating your information if without a job for six months (re: bringing in your Social Security Card and driver's license despite the fact that information never changes, save for a new mail address that you can notify them through without this procedure). And I also chose Office Team over other placement agencies because they have a lot of experience in administrative jobs in the medical field, my area of expertise as an Exec Assistant for a big hospital. I met with Larisa, one of the Directors. She was, essentially, my first "interview." I was impressed with her style... direct, honest, no sugar coating. She gave me important information that I needed, since I had been out of the work force for so long. My computer skills needed updating, my degree should be completed, etc. She also helped me with my resume. Having come from a job where I was held in high regard, I had high expectations. But she brought me down to earth. And that was important... we can be in a little bubble about ourselves, our previous work experience, and need to understand that it's a tough market. YOU have to be willing to improve and adapt and make yourself a viable candidate for a company. And to support that, Office Team offers great online training and EVERYONE should take advantage of that. Larisa did her best to send me to temp jobs (where I had to interview... another big surprise) that matched my salary expectations and experience. After two bombs, the third was a hit, and I was hired on after six weeks. I wasn't intending to land a job, I was actually looking forward to temping for a while, but this job was such a perfect fit that it was great to be brought on permanently. Throughout my experience of interviewing, and then temping, Larisa encouraged and maintained a relationship with me. She gave me feedback and tips to improve and encouraged constant communication with her. Something to remember as an employee of this company... you not only represent yourself, but you are a representative of Office Team, your employer. Your obligation is to treat every day as an interview and be as professional as you can be.
