I heard that New Concept Staffing was a useful staffing agency for finding work so I thought I would give them a try. I went on their website and started filling out the application, there is many required fields to fill out before you can submit your application. You are able to save your application and continue filling it out so you do not need to do the entire thing at once. I had most of it filled out when I received a call from Marci. I had a 10 second voicemail saying hi this is Marci from New Concept please call back. I was excited when I heard the message because I thought maybe Marci had a potential job for me but was confused because I hadn't completed my application nor had I submitted it. I called Marci back and the first question she asked me was if we had spoken before and I said no we haven't, I never submitted my application. She then immediately asked me "are you looking for a sales job?" I told her yes thinking maybe she already had a potential job for me though this is not what I was looking for in particular nor do I have any experience in sales and no sign of sales anywhere on my resume (which like my application was never submitted). Marci immediately told me "I don't do sales jobs, only once in a blue moon and if it is for a friend." My response was "oh" and she quickly said, "good luck with your job search" and hung up leaving me disappointed and confused. Overall this brief and strange encounter with Marci at New Concept was extremely strange and unprofessional. I found it very strange how quickly she was to dismiss a potential applicant and even stranger that she must have been spying on my application as I was filling it out prior to ever submitting it (you have to create a username and can save the application so I assume this is how they spy on the application process prior to them being submitted). I have since turned to other staffing agencies that I have found to be vastly more helpful, respectful, and most importantly, professional. My advice is don't waste your time dealing with New Concept and Marci because she seems to have issues with professionalism and honesty (I mean the spying thing is just so weird to me and not even knowing if we had spoken before...very strange). Good luck with your job search for those looking and I would recommend googling top bay area staffing agencies and you will find countless agencies that are much more helpful than Marci and New Concept. You also won't see New Concept on any of these top staffing agency lists, which is telling enough as it is. Hope this review saves anyone from wasting there time dealing with New Concept. read more

New Concept Staffing has been my oasis in the desert of job hunting. Before meeting Marci, I had applied to dozens of companies with no success. Then I applied to New Concept Staffing and was sent on an interview within 2 days. It was relevant to my skills and desires, but was part time with the possibility of full time. Almost a perfect match. After a second interview and while I was waiting to hear from that employer, Marci sent me to another interview with a company which was looking for a full time candidate with skills that I have. The interview was so positive that they offered me the job that same afternoon. It's a great match for both of us, the new company and me. I'm working full time now and thoroughly enjoy my new job. I applied to another staffing agency in Oakland three months before I contacted New Concept. They didn't return my emails or phone calls even with a personal referral from one of their "associates". My experience with Marci and her staff was wonderful. She made me feel as if I were her best candidate and that she was there to serve my needs. The interviews she sent me on were very good matches for my experience and skills. I would recommend New Concept Staffing to anyone looking for a good job. Marci is amazing! She is professional, responsive, and passionate about what she does, which is consistently obvious throughout the whole hiring process. I was initially apprehensive about working with a staffing firm; I was fresh out of college, I wasn't really sure what a staffing firm was when I applied to a job posting on Indeed, and I was taken aback by how quickly Marci was able to call me up and set up an interview. I was working a closing shift at my previous job when my phone rang--literally hours after I had applied for a job. Marci introduced herself and asked me introductory questions about what I was looking for. She said she could set up an interview the next day after briefing me at their office on Wiget Lane. I show up, go to the interview, and get good news that they wanted to offer me a Temp-to-Hire position. It's been a journey, (given the COVID pandemic), but I was offered the job permanently last week. Marci was always available, responsive, and reliable when it came to disseminating information. I had to take a minute to review New Concept Staffing. I have been on both sides with this company. My first job after moving back to this area was as a temp with New Concept Staffing. I can not say enough good about this company. The moment I walked through the door the atmosphere of the office was upbeat and friendly. I always felt that I could call with any questions or concerns and have since referred everyone who has mentioned they were looking for employment. As an employee of New Concepts Staffing I felt valued. As luck would have it I was hired permanently by the company and we have continued to use Marci at New Concepts Staffing when needing temporary workers. Every one of the "temps" have been top notch! Each have had a pleasant personality, great work ethic along with fantastic skill sets! We will continue to use Marci at New Concepts for our temporary employment needs. I want to share the wonderful experience that I have had working with New Concept Inc. I have worked with other staffing firms, however Marci and Kelly are down to earth, professional and you feel right at home in the office. After speaking to Marci on the phone I felt as if we were old friends and I had an instant connection. You don't find that these days, especially with staffing firms that are all excited on the phone, convey that you are wonderful and then you don't here from them again, or you are on a wild goose chase between taking assessment tests, etc. Marci sent me on an interview, I loved the people and the company right away - everything felt right. I contacted New Concept Staffing out of the blue in March 2022 and spoke with Marci. She placed me very quickly in a temp position at a law firm in Walnut Creek and it was a perfect fit for me, nice professional people and a 3 week assignment. Marci knew I needed something short term, just to get back into the market after almost 20 years as a stay at home. She was very easy to work with, as is Christine at the office. In June 2022 she called me about interviewing at a company in Walnut Creek, she felt it might be a good fit for me. I interviewed with the company a couple of days later and started the next week.
