I wanted to try a different experience and. decided to do takeout at this restaurant. When I arrived my first red flag were cats outside of the establishment. When going to the counter to place my order, the owner was rude and just short with his words in explaining the combinations so I was thinking it could be a language barrier. I heard him speaking fluent in English after I order so I knew it wasn't that. As I waited for my food, I notice his attitude change when people of his race came in. My order came up and took my food home. When I got home...I notice that the chicken smell sour and had a tainted taste to it. The food at this restaurant was absolutely unacceptable and stale. We ordered burgers that smelled off, and the fries were undercooked. Two people in our group chose the buffet, but all the food there was just as stale. It was clear they were reheating leftovers rather than preparing fresh meals. The kebab meat had a foul odor that was so off-putting I couldn't even take a bite. When we requested naan, they only provided one piece for each person, regardless of how many were at the table. Even when we asked for a second piece, it took them an absurd 15 minutes to bring it, almost as if they were trying to limit our dining experience. We should have listen to Dad's request when he said he wanted his fave, Luby's, for his birthday dinner. But sisters and I were craving naan. As mentioned in my first review, we get catering from Lazeeza for birthdays and such, so this year for Daddy's birthday, we ordered food to feed our family of, er, 11 is it now? Biryani, goat korma, haleem, saag paneer and oodles of naan and parata. So, 6:30-ish, there we were, grubbin' down and watching mom's novelas when I had a spoonful of haleem by my face and screeched: "Eyw. This smells like baby diaper!" Come around 11pm, the food is being put up when sister number 2 starts gagging and insisting everyone to smell the halleem. "It's bubbling!" Mom smells it and concludes to 1) throw it away 2) everyone is gonna get sick. When I read other reviews with people claiming to have gotten food poisoning from a restaurant, I don't worry about it too much because people consume food all day and there's really no telling which eatery could be at fault. But this was an incident where we had members of our family from different households all coming together for one shared meal from one restaurant ... and everyone gets sick. Even sister number 3, a few months pregnant had to go to the ER just to take precaution. I know things like this can happen (if I were a restaurant owner, this would constantly be on my mind, 'cause you never know. Bacteria can be sneaky little suckers.) Worst Indian food I have ever had. I feel bad because the fresh veggies are hand cut and fresh but other than that he needs more help in his restaurant. It was chewy and overcooked. Spices were battling with each other. Tasted like he got lazy and used Prego tomato marinara sauce instead of the old fashioned and best way to make butter chicken, tikka masala. Ended up going here even after seeing the 2.5 star-averaged reviews on Yelp at the behest of a family friend who lived in the area. Should have stuck to my guns and gone to another place I had in mind instead. It's a small little place and looks tidy and sure to please. Buffet lined up on the left side of the location going for $8.99 according to the counter lady I had to go and ask b/c I didn't see it listed anywhere. But, with the 5 people I had with me, we decided to go family style instead and ordered 2 appetizers and 4 entrees to share. The waitress makes some sarcastic comment regarding our order placement and that we ordered water without ice (which I thought was funny but I was assured later by the rest of the party that it was rude instead :D). This should have probably been the first sign to walk out if i wasn't dying from hunger at this time. For the appetizers we ordered veggie pakoras and keema (ground beef) samosas ... about 5 minutes later the waitress comes out and informs us "I'm sorry we actually don't have pakoras, do you want something else?" I'm in starvation mode so ignore the gaff of 5 min after order placement notification of said dish not being available and order aloo (potato) samosas as replacement. 5 mins later, our samosas come out to my delight. Take a bite out of the keema samosa.... goodness. Take a bite out of the aloo samosa... FROZEN! (on the inside) WTF!? Immediately call the lady and she takes the plate of 1 whole and several bitten into samosas back to the back to get a new batch... comes back another 5 mins later with a new batch of a grand total of 2 samosas saying "here's one extra" ... ONE EXTRA!? ... uh, all of them were cold inside lady.... just b/c we took a bite out of multiple of them and realized they were internally cold after taking said bite doesn't mean we consumed the entirety of the samosas. I ask her to go get a few more to correct their problems... and in the mean while, took a bite out of one of the new batch..... SAME problem - cold on the inside. I get up immediately and tell the lady to stop whatever order and we walk out as I didn't want to deal with other potentially semi-cooked food. Poor attitude and partially cooked food ... not good signs. Don't think I'll ever be trying this place again... ended up having to go get my hunger fix at Taco Bell.... yea. read more

This is my first review, although I have tried many many of the restaurants of houston, I chose this one to be my first review. My family always go to Lazeeza because it is great food. They have a buffet but I never like buffets so I always order. Compared to many of the other Pakistan/Indian restaurants, Lazeeza is one of the better ones. I usually get the chicken tikka boti, and it has a taste that no other restaurant can acheive. It isnt bland nor is it spicy, it is just right. The only bad thing I could say is that the customer service isnt too good. After the owners opened up a new location on Hillcroft, they havent been visiting this location too often. My upstairs neighbors were cooking Indian and I just had to venture out to find some good eats. I was salivating. First things first, I check Yelp and find this place that Farrah reviewed. Actually, 2 reviewers including Farrah and both were 5 stars. Now, I usually don't venture outside the 5 mile perimeter which surrounds my house (also known as the Green Zone). This is the reason I send %20 of my paycheck to Lupe Tortilla and some other Mexican restaurants in the 249 area close to Tomball. But this is also the reason that I haven't eaten *any* Indian since I moved to Houston almost 1 year ago! So I make the 20 minute drive and find Lazeeza hidden in the back of a strip mall. My senses are greeted with familiar smells which I adore. A buffet is crackin' on a Sunday. That's a new one for me. (Usually Indian restaurants only serve buffets M-F to make more money on the weekends when more people dine out). I'm leaning towards ordering the Chicken Tikka anyways, but the owner (or apparently owner) of the establishment personally walks me to the buffet bar and explains to me each dish, including a Chicken Tikka (baked, not boiled, but OK - I'm the only westerner looking guy there) and that I should get the buffet. I debate it in my head and agree. I grab my plate and pike on the recommendation which were made to me moments earlier. As I thought, and this is my experience as a whole, I only went back for the baked chicken tikka for seconds. The food was light, and I'm at home now with a full stomach and I don't feel repulsed by what I just ate (which sometimes is the case when Indian food is too oily). Pros - + Plenty of vegetarian dishes + Weekend buffet is a bargain at $9.27 (tax incl'd) + Catered to my request for fresh garlic on the side (my wife was not with me) + Friendly staff, atmosphere. Family run business and it feels like a home Cons - - No alcohol. A spicy chicken tikka begs to be washed down with a cold, Indian beer. - No garlic nan. (in the buffet). I asked to order it on the side, and was politely told they don't have any. But what I really understood was that they didn't want to make any. Meh. My friend's mama told me about this place. I usually come to her house to indulge in homemade indian food but her mom had mentioned to me that she sometimes orders out from here when she can't cook. I thought, meh, why not try it out one day? I was in the mood for some naan dipping activities one day and stopped by on my way home from work. I randomly ordered 2 items for chicken and goat and extra naan to go along with it. It came out to be around 18 bucks? Yep. The buffet looked alright. I saw a few old men tearin it up. Most of it looked old and dry. I sure hope they weren't packing that stuff to go for me. I brought the meal home and fed the parentals. They liked the goat curry. Given the lack of Desi restaurants with party halls, this place gets used a lot. Ive only been here for large parties with big catering orders. The food is of average quality for an Indian/Pakistani-American person's perpective. I'm sure non-Desi folks might disagree. Let's be real here, sometimes the food is great sometimes it's as if it was out for a while, the buffet is still great, the service is alright I know the waiters and cleaners are very loud and talk a lot, but at least they are very friendly. The food is very good on the days you find it good, the rice is always good unless it's been sitting out there for a while, I can't complain to much it's a decent place for a decent price. Went here today and I had a good experience! I was unsure of this place because of Lazeeza's ratings on yelp but I was very surprised. The customer service was great and everyone was super friendly. Most overprice Indian buffet with missed leading advertising as to what is on the buffet . The photo on yelp had grill chicken but owner said must pay extra. Why have a photo showing grill chicken on the lunch buffet and telling customers grill chicken will be extra. He said the photo is 3 years old but it is still posted on Yelp. Only had five small items and no dessert. The worse part is the food tasted lousy. If you really had Indian food before DON'T COME HERE YOU WILL BE VERY DISSATISFIED FOR a $18 per person. My husband and I stopped by for brunch and the food and service were both excellent. We had delicious halwa puri and the manager kept checking if we need more fresh puri or if we wanted tea. The lunch buffet spread was also fresh and delicious--especially the daal and gosht. The desserts (including kheer and suji halwa) hit the spot. They also have reasonable prices.
