VERY IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!!! These photos are of the MANAGER! My mom and I went for dinner and everything was good until my mom found a hair in her food. We spoke to the manager. He said it couldn't have been his staff cause they all wore hair nets and that this happens because it's an open buffet. We stopped eating and let it go! Once leaving my mom offered to pay. So I told her I'd wait outside. She didn't have enough, but gave more than half the bill, so she came out to ask me for the rest. When I look up, the woman in the photo with her back turned had walked out and was recording us. I walked back inside and gave the remaining $7! I proceed to ask her to delete the recording and she says not until I pay, WITH OUR MONEY IN HER HAND. I begin to speak with the manager and explain to him that none of what she did was necessary. He then says if my mom wouldn't have walked out then they wouldn't have recorded. I told him I would like an apology for making us feel like thieves when that wasn't the case. He never once apologized and then claimed that I ONLY came back because I was being recorded and we didn't pay. EVEN WHEN I HAD THE RECEIPT IN MY HAND FROM PAYING AND HE WAS STANDING THERE WHILE WE WERE PAYING!! It's been about 7 years since my last visit and one thing I remembered was that the service is number one followed by the food in how horrible it is. I went here with the church family and all the adults left with a sour feeling. For one the waitress, didn't believe us when we shared that the kids were under 12, she went to try to card each child. I haven't been to very many Chinese buffets in a while, but I must say that the quality and food options at E Star is better than most I've been to in the past. I haven't been to the Willowbrook side of town in a while. Grew up going to and working at the mall nearby. E Star was once a Toys R Us. What brought us here was a post funeral celebration of life that reunited us from all over. We tend to eat out and gather after. The large room at the front was reserved, as well as some tables in the main dining just outside the room. The room had booth seating along the walls and tables with regular chairs. There were servers and managers checking in periodically delivering beverages. The downside was that they ran out of Coke, so they automatically gave me Diet Coke. When I told them and asked, they did offer to give me something else. They also ran out of tea cups/pots and served hot water in a regular plastic glass meant for cold beverages. No. Just no. They could've used the soup bowls in the buffet area. I don't understand how a buffet place runs out of Coke and hot cups before noon on a Tuesday. There's more dining space than food space, so if you have a large party, expect a long line. The food is set up in two long sections for the main food, cold food area, sushi, and desserts. They were constantly replenishing the food. I liked the green beans and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, General Tso's chicken, sautéed mushrooms, jalapeño chicken, fried dough, and sesame balls. The sesame balls filled with red bean ran out and took a while to replenish. The food tasted good. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, but I left full and content. Honestly, I went into this establishment with low expectations. I went here during the weekend during lunch time. I have been here many times years ago and only saw a gradual decline in the quality of their food. Surprisingly enough the food itself was not bad. I had a bit of everything from their stir-fry vegetables to their fried foods and to their sushi as well. Nothing was amazing but I didn't find anything repulsive either. This is my first time here at this location, but usually E Star Buffet is always delicious. It's Christmas and this place did not disappoint! It's All Day Buffet and it's delicious!! Seafood on point, oysters on the half shell, and more. Besides not having crab legs it's a must go spot for a nice dine in. The place isn't too bad, I am just not a fan of buffets but would I come here again? Maybe. There was a variety of food and perhaps it was not my favorite options compared to other buffets. Some of my favorite options however was the fried calamari, their pineapple shrimp and their beef and broccoli. Ok and their mushrooms too. I just feel like once I got there thinking that I would pig out, I didn't. I just wasn't impressed with the food. My husband picks buffets based on a few particular food items. Fried Biscuits (no sugar) theirs had sugar and were dense and greasy. Fried rice. Theirs was just white rice with veggies. Ribs are supposed to have that really good red sauce on them they had regular bbq sauce on theirs I like the boiled shrimp and salt and pepper shrimp. The boiled shrimp were good, the s and p shrimp were flavorful but super over cooked. There just wasn't one thing that stuck out to me.
