A friend was visiting and wanted to eat real good beef, so I said lets go and try out the primerib. I had Primerib in San Francisco before so was really excited to check out this place. We ordered the lunch set with Spinning Bowl Salad, Cream Soup, Prime Rib Beef au Jus. We were not sure if it would be enough food for us, since the food portions has shrunk a bit lately in the restaurants in HK, so we upgraded the Prime Rib to California cut just to be sure we will leave this place full and satisfied. On top of it, wine tasting with 3 glasses of wine each. So whats the verdict? The food was delightful and we both went into food coma. It was a bit sad that we didn't had room to finish off with the Fantasy Chocolate Cake which was included in the set menu. When we left, the staff still remembered my lastname when they said goodbye which I mentioned only once when we walked into the restaurant.

Some of the best prime ribs in town and the weekend brunch set is one of the best deal in town I know of. The set already includes a salad and soup buffet. Just remember to save room for the actual entrée... The chef asked us our preference and gave us our serving~I told him I wanted to see some blood... j/k I just said I like medium rare. If you like your beef well-done, prime rib is probably not for you... I went to a restaurant once and my friend ordered prime ribs but requested it "well-done" I think her plate ended up in the microwave and she complained the meat was too tough. -.-||| Beautiful pinkish red with just a little bit of lard. The portion size is good too. It's the first time I had prime rib (be it lunch or dinner) where I didn't go into a food coma afterwards. I could actually enjoy my desserts and tea! My friend said after they moved to this new location, the interior is a little tired and the silverware used seemed to be downgraded. I regretted for not visiting this restaurant sooner but hey, they are only charging me HK$3xx. I really shouldn't be complaining. Not to mention they offer special discounts to Citibank credit card holders and EXTRA Asia Miles!!!

Lawry's is THE place to go to for roast beef! I've been coming here for a while now, though less so in recent years - my whole family loves it because it's delicious food, great service and the ambience of the restaurant is super cosy. My last time here prior to today was actually well over a year ago, but my mother recently collected enough points on Asia Miles to redeem a two-person brunch here - so here we are! On weekends, Lawry's does a set lunch where there's a salad buffet and a dessert buffet, with your choice of main course in between. You also can pick between a glass of red or white house wine, juice, soda or sparkling wine, and then coffee or tea to finish off. All this leaves me pretty full at the end and I just feel like I'm comfortably sinking into a food coma! The salad bar is one of the highlights of a meal at Lawry's. They've got different types of lettuce and four types of dressing, and to go with it, there are carrots, beets, cherry tomatoes, raisins, croutons... Need I go on? If you come here, definitely get a load of croutons to go with your salad. They're nice and crunchy, and are easily some of the best croutons I've ever had! They also have smoked salmon - I had five or six pieces, no problem, and could have gone on but didn't want to have used up all my appetite before my roast beef! For the main course, you can pick between a few including their roast beef, beef burger and crab meat linguine - I don't doubt the quality of the other dishes, but it doesn't make sense NOT to get the roast beef here! The roast beef is extremely tender and the sauce that goes with it really brings out all the flavor in the meat. It's accompanied with some mashed potato that has its own gravy - it may just be a side dish to the roast beef, but don't underestimate it - it's delicious too! You also get some Yorkshire pudding to go with it all. The Yorkshire pudding has a really unique taste - it's crunchy and soft at the same time. Take it from me - eat this while it's still hot and have it with a generous amount of gravy! It's really good that way. If you leave it till the end, it'll be cold by then and won't taste as great as it does when hot. Lastly, there's the dessert buffet. This, to be honest, isn't wonderful. There's really just fruits and a small selection of cakes. When I was there today, it was melon and watermelon, and both were actually quite sweet. The cakes were disappointing though - firstly, there weren't many, and the chocolate pudding was just strange. It was literally half cream with a little bit of brownie bits at the bottom. The little bits of mangoes on top of the mango pudding was good, but the pudding itself tasted artificial. I did like the matcha swiss roll though. Overall, the highlights of meals at Lawry's are anything but the dessert. Everything else, though, is great, and a side note - the seating at Lawry's is super comfortable! I'd definitely recommend coming here if you've never been before!

Western food! The…read moreflying pan has very reasonable prices, poor coffee, mediocre food, and good service. I ordered the salmon Benedict, Kenzie the pepper and onion Benedict. The eggs being over cooked, had a non runny yolk. I ordered sides of baked beans and corn grits which were both fine. Our plates came out with the sides switched up. Not a big deal. Not bad for a western breakfast in Hong Kong. Not great either. I've had better western breakfast in Shanghai, though you would think Hong Kong being the international hub it is, would have even higher standards for western foods. Eggs Benedict: 85HK. Unlimited coffee: 35HK. Using a restaurants own WiFi to post a 2 star review about them: Priceless.

I went with an Eggs Guacamole and a mango juice and I thought it was all pretty awesome overall. The food isn't overly expensive, you get fairly generous portions, and they definitely don't skimp on your free sides. The potatoes were a tad dry and I probably wouldn't go with them the next time around, but their grits aren't half bad. Hollandaise sauce is thick, yet runny, and the eggs were poached perfectly. The guacamole was offered in generous portions, and the only thing that I could possibly say they weren't generous with, in terms of portion size was my juice. That's fine though. I'll definitely be back to try a few other menu items.

We were walking through the mall when we saw this Cheesecake Factory. Having been to several in…read morethe USA, we had not realized there was one in HK. Having immersed ourselves in local cuisine for over a week, we thought it would be nice to have a change and testing the consistency of their food overseas. First thing we noticed - no line ups. The locations we been to in the USA often have long waits, but not here. The interior follows the same decor and style as you would see in the USA, so no differences there. The menu is similarly expansive, with a lot of the same familiar menu items we're familiar. Small difference - entrees come with a "free" soup here, like going to a cha chaan teng. We ended up getting two things: - Mandarin Chicken Salad: Good. In the USA, it's referred to as a Chinese Chicken Salad, but it's the same thing. Maybe a bit smaller portion size in HK. - Crusted Chicken Romano: Good. Just as I would imagine it to taste in the USA. - Soup: OK. I don't quite remember what the accompanying soup was, but it was fine. Not memorable. - Complimentary Bread: Good. They use the same recipes so the bread, especially the brown loaf are always a treat to eat. Service was good. Overall, it was a good meal. Although not identical, it's very close to the original in terms of look, service and food quality, although relatively more expensive.

I'm really baffled as to why this place has such a low rating…read more First of all, this is the only Cheesecake factory in Hong Kong, possibly in the region (there is one in Macau, but that's not part of the metro area). As such, there are really a lot of people who want to come here - during regular business hours this place is incredibly packed, and it'll typically be at least a 30 minute wait to get seats. The food here actually compares really well to the stuff you get at Cheesecake factory in America; anyone saying otherwise probably hasn't been around America enough. Cheesecake factory in America isn't like a mcdonalds or taco bell, where there really isn't any cooking going on. In places like these, all the food comes from a single source, and all they're doing is tossing it in the deep fryer (even then this is a slight simplification). At cheesecake factory in the USA, there is real cooking going on, and there can be a real difference from store to store in the quality of the food. The food in this Hong Kong location compares very well to some of the better ones I've been to in America. The menu, same as other locations, is huge, and a great testament to how they can pull off so many dishes in one restaurant. Some of my favorites are the pastas, the breakfast, and the tacos. The wait staff is all pretty good here, and it does give you a slight american feel in that everyone here speaks english. I actually have not been here yet and seen a cantonese waiter or waitress. The only real con of this place are the cakes. The cakes are actually shipped frozen all the way from America. I think this is a bit much. Yes, the cakes here are pretty good, but they could probably make something from scratch that is comparable. It doesn't make sense to me that all the food can be cooked on site, but the cake is impossible to replicate.

***Wingman - Best Chicken Wings in Town??...YES SIR!!***…read more Wingman claims to have the "best chicken wings in town"..... that's quite a tall claim for anybody to make! But I tried five of their flavors....AND THE VERDICT Yes Sir! I might've broken my personal record for most wings eaten!THIRTY WINGS (five flavors...six wings of each flavor).... and I could still down a milkshake at another joint later.... CALIFORNIA STYLE WINGS with RAW GARLIC and PARSLEY were my favorite (pictured above). The garlic and parsley came out strong in the first bite and that's what I loved (garlic flavor works great on any food I guess). This one was the HERO of the menu.... (Metaphorically speaking....the perfect VILLAIN could be the next flavor that I tried - CAROLINA REAPER WINGS.... coz it was SOOOOOOO SPICY ... and of course delicious too!!) CAROLINE REAPER WINGS had a spicy level of 4 out of 5...... so BEWARE .... and better be ready to wipe that sweat from your forehead . The other three flavors were AWESOME in their own right.... but I guess they can be overshadowed by the California wings and Carolina Reaper wings. I miss having a blue cheese dip, and this place delivered. The wings were also beautifully a seasoned and succulent, making this place an excellent place to go before or between drinks (Provided you're still sober enough to order and follow instructions, of course). The buffalo wings were great, as were their Thai wings. Back then, they also had this wing and drink combo which felt like a pretty solid deal, especially since beer is arguably among the best complements for wings. I do appreciate the quirky decor and the relatively clean bathroom facilities, and while the place was packed, serving staff were still quick and attentive.

However, they've since moved to a bigger space so I'm ok with sharing my not so secret place. I've tried almost everything on the menu and basically everything there is good. The burgers though-they have burgers with chicken, which doesn't count but are still delicious. Why come to a burger place though and not order beef? The beef here is fresh and delicious and it's cooked medium rare-medium. I only eat burgers at that level if I trust the beef to be high quality. I always get the burger here at that level. Price wise, compared to what you can get at other burger places it's just...you can't compare. While other places have a quality burger you pay-what you get here for the price is ridiculous. If you think that's subjective then they have a set for 68 bucks carry out during lunch: burger, fries, drink. Wow! Super surprised there is a yelp entry for this restaurant!…read more This place I feel is not in the most ideal area. Personally, I don't like coming to LKF to have dinner or lunch or whatever. Still, I can't fault them too much for the location, and many people have actually done the same since there are a number of good restaurants in LKF area. This place is primarily a steak place, though they have a few other things to choose from as well. I believe lunch times they offer a AYCE sort of option, where you get a main and then the salad bar is buffet. I've been to it before and it's pretty good. I've heard however since COVID they have changed it somewhat. The other night I came and got the seafood guazzetto, which is about $300 HKD, and has a bunch of different things such as fish, octopus, clams, etc. Lots of seafood essentially. Other things I tried included the sides of brussel sprouts, mushrooms, bruschetta, some of my brother's sirloin steak, some of the fish of the day (halibut?). Overall, the food is quite nice. I will say, they tend to use a bit too much butter/oil here. I know this is kind of true whenever you eat out, but here it is definitely noticeable. I would recommend them to tone it down just a little bit, since there are always ways to spice up your dish without going overboard on the fats
