The office is very comfortable and welcoming, and Dr Emily James and the team take exceptional care of their patients. Every time that we have visited, everything runs efficiently and promptly. Everyone is so friendly and kind. Dr. James is extremely knowledgeable and incredibly detailed with her exams. She has excellent communication skills and makes you feel so comfortable. I truly enjoy the time that I am in the office for my annual exams. I can't say that about all medical appointments! For those looking for glasses, the selection to choose from is large. There is something for everyone. If you are looking for contacts, there are many options available to meet your needs. It is a breeze to schedule an appointment, either online or by giving a call. The office is located in Gelson's Village Calabasas, which offers plenty of parking. I highly recommend Luna Optometry for all eye care needs.

If you're looking for a place that's not only welcoming but also super clean and high-tech, I definitely recommend Luna Optometry. Dr. James and her team are just fantastic!

I usually tend to not…read morehave good dealings with medical staff but Alan is a really good guy, empathetic, and thorough. You definitely feel like you get the care and treatment you need. The office is clean and atmosphere is welcoming as well. However, it has been awhile since I have gone to the office but when I recently went I found out my medical records have been shredded and trashed. I checked and I came multiple times within seven years (time period for offices to maintain records) and when I asked the front desk receptionist, she wasn't very sympathetic or cared. Alan used to have a really great receptionist but this recent one comes across as rude and not following proper medical practice of trashing medical records. Further, when picking up my glasses, she was rude about the kind of glasses I got and called them cheap and "made me feel better" by getting a Dulce & Gabbana bag. Like I didn't need the attitude and disrespect. Alan: 5+ stars! Receptionist: 0 stars (hope a new office receptionist comes in soon)

Because of my back injury, over the years my vestibular system has been off and has gotten worse. It's very hard to find a neuro-optometrist in general, so when I found Dr.Simons I was really happy. And now, honestly, I can't imagine going to anyone else but him. I feel like he listens to me very carefully when I explain my symptoms of dizziness and how my eye pain relates to my spinal alignment. I feel like he actually cares about the pain I go through and he tries to link it back to my eyes. He always replies back to my emails and his office is low key, it isn't super loud. Parking is a breeze with lots of spots and it's is easy to get to from the freeway, the 101. His office staff is nice, too.

Dr. Simons is caring and thorough. He answers questions and explains processes clearly. I was…read moreshocked by his willingness to take time to get to know us a bit and share stories that were unrelated to our vision. Dr. Simons seems to genuinely care about people beyond their vision. We started vision therapy recently for my son who is 9. Janet is so patient. I haven't had a moment of apprehension. I trust the initial assessment. The vison therapy plan seems to be guided by specific goals with intermittent assessments to ensure time isn't being wasted. At home support is clearly explained and reinforced with written instructions. The amount of minutes expected to be completed at home is nominal. The practice at home has helped my son feel in control and a part of the therapy. We had done VT in the past. It was a chore that I had to drag my son to. With Janet and Dr. Simons, my son is showing pride and a certain eagerness to keep moving forward. We are thrilled that we found Dr. Simons and his staff.

Btw they also tell you to make appointments online in the portal, but there is no option to make an appointment with an eye doctor, when you've never seen one before. It's impossible. Dr Massry was awful. He didn't seem to care or really help me. Instead he said that I needed a biopsy because it could be cancer. He didn't really care to assist me further and instead referred me to other doctors to confirm his cancer diagnosis. Overall, if you have a quick procedure done here, it can be nice. I often hear people use the expression "the eyes are a window to the soul." What I learned during…read moremy visit with Dr. Richard Eisenberg, is the eyes are also a window to your health. Receiving routine eye exams and investing in retinal photography, a "potentially lifesaving screening technique," can help increase optimal eye health or identify the presence of disease, such as macular degeneration. To help identify the early onset of macular degeneration, Dr. Eisenberg uses retinal cameras--without the use of dilation--to capture images within the eye to help provide diagnosis. Retinal photography can also determine if a patient has symptoms related to high blood pressure, heart problems or other disease, including brain cancer. "Signs of papilledema, a swelling of the optic disc or nerve, is most often caused by raised intracranial pressure inside the skull or brain, a symptom requiring further investigation as it can have a number of causes, including a brain tumor."
