This was my second visit to see Dr. Griffith for my eye exam. So grateful his office is at Target where I shop all the time. It was a snap to walk in a make an appointment for a recheck, since I have been working on the computer a lot, and my eyes were not liking it. I love the electronic scan of the retina, as it makes it so much easier to see the back of the eye, where bad things can be going on and you don't know it. So much nicer than having to have your eyes dilated. Dr. Griffith does an extremely thorough job of examining your eyes, and I was super happy that I had no significant changes from the last exam. Quick and complete visit, with an energetic, personable, and very knowledgeable Dr. of Optometry, who has clearly not lost the passion for what he does. Has all the gadgets to gauge the health of your eyes, and get you an accurate prescription. First time having retinal photography: his wide-view Optos Daytona image took great photos that provide a good record of eye health (not to mention fascinating to see). It was an extra $29, which seems reasonabl since the machine costs ~$85k. There was no charge for PD, which some places have as an "extra". I'll be back. read more

I had my eye exam with Dr. Henry Ettinger. I met Dr. Ettinger when he was originally practicing in New York and after 1 visit to him, I knew that he was an excellent eye doctor. Unfortunately, he moved to California and it was only because he lived near some of my closest friends in the Van Nuys area, that I was able to see him for a follow-up visit. He is an extraordinary eye doctor and I'm so glad I traveled 3,000 miles to see him again. He works out of a Target and what is so impressive is that his office has some of most state-of-the-art equipment. Dr. Ettinger provided me with a comprehensive exam. He didn't try to sell me anything, but for my piece of mind, I asked for an additional service to be done on my eyes. This service was for a full retinal scan (and the price for this test was so reasonable). I'm glad I took this test, because is indicated a small problem which i went over in detail with Dr. Ettinger. He gave me very detailed instructions on how to resolve this problem. He answered each and every question and we even spoke about the important concept of how diet relates to our health. He is very knowledgeable, thorough, professional, smart and friendly. I highly recommend this office for any and all of your eye issues...including your yearly exam. If there were more doctors like Dr. Ettinger, our country would be a lot healthier. Dr. Griffith is a great optometrist! I was amazed at all the technology and equipment at his practice, also how thorough and patient he was during my check up. He took the time to explain with detail all the different tests he was doing, in particular I recommend the Optos in which he takes pictures of your retina to look for any abnormal conditions. The best part is that he emails you the pictures and results of the test. Finally got my eyes exam done by Dr. Griffith and I was not disappointed! He did an extremely thorough exam. I have been wearing contacts for years now and I really appreciated the fact that he still gave me several options of brands so I can check the comfort and see how it would do with my wallet. Dr. Griffith does comprehensive eye exams, contact lenses exams, office visits for any issues (dry eyes, red eyes, pink eye, flashes, pain, foreign body removal, etc) He did the visual field exam as part of the exam (most places charge 10 to 20 bucks for this!!! He has brand new equipment in his office. He made sure to clean everything before each use, which I really appreciated. He even has the optosmap... which he only charges 20 bucks for!!! WHAT!!! 20! I have had doctors charge 45 for this. It does a full retinal scan and he goes over every aspect of it with you and even emails them to you! I got mine before the day was even over. And the retinal scan means I don't have to do dilation and be blurry for hours. If you are looking for an eye doctor who obviously loves what he does, is up to date with all the latest products and equipment, Dr. Griffith is the optometrist for you. His comprehensive eye exam was only 59 and his contact lenses exams start at 99. He gave me trials during my exam and is having me try them for a few weeks to see which I prefer. I was so comfortable with the exam and that he listened to all my concerns and made sure everything was addressed. Oh best part is he is there on weekends!
