Great father son experience! The staff was super helpful and engaging. The manager, I think Xander was his name was funny and super helpful. I highly recommend this place to anybody. Thanks for a great day!

I was a junior blacksmith today with my colleagues. This work was no joke. I sweated my butt off making my bottle opener. Definitely found a new appreciation for this profession. Shout out to Zander, our incredible instructor! Funny, dope playlist and tons of patience! Truly the best!

The experience was amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better instructor (Zander). If you are into dad jokes and a great time Zander is the instructor for you. The class was simple but pushed your creative side. If you or your partner is a "forged in fire" watcher and want to try your/their hand at making their own knife, this is the experience for you/them. I want to book again and come back to make another knife, ring, flower, chopsticks, etc. For those looking for a great date night or even a first date this is the event for you.

My friend took me out for my bday. Had no idea it would be this but it was very fun. Had Zander as an instructor. He was great. Walked us thru everything. Was very patient and informative. The class went at a good enough pace for us to catch on and not be bored. Zander made the instructions easy to follow and kept us safe around all of the fire and equipment. I would highly recommend this as an activity. Def cuff friendly if you're looking for that lol. Was a good class.

My wife got me the horseshoe knife class as a Christmas gift. I was in the public class. The horseshoe was already cut in half. The instructor would demo a few steps, then the class would do them. Lawless Forge is safety oriented and takes as many precautions as they can. Our instructor walked grounded and helped those who needed it. Answered questions. He was awesome. I would recommend this class to anyone who has watched forged in fire.

Great family activity! Ages 14-49, we all had fun. We chose to build chopsticks. Josh did a great job of giving instruction, and keeping us safe and on pace to complete our project.

This was an excellent first time experience. I will definitely be going back. Josh explained every step in detail. Well worth the time and money.

I talked my family into going to Lawless Forge after seeing a Facebook ad. It turns out if you have five or more people a private experience is the same cost (or less) than a public class- so we got a private class for the six of us! We decided to make horseshoe knives and our instructor was Zander. We had a very mixed group- one of us is a carpenter and one is afraid of fire- but none of us thought we would be making a knife like the example knife. We were wrong! Under Zander's excellent guidance, the project was broken down into easily attainable steps. He gave us great instructions and then walked around to provide tips and advice. He also had a great sense of humor! We also all felt very safe, which is really important when working with hot metal and metal grinders! Zander gave us great safety instructions and took it very seriously. He was also willing to jump in and help if anyone was uncomfortable or having trouble with a step. In the end, we all made beautiful and unique knives while having a lot of fun! I would advise others to wear the right clothes. The Lawless Forge website tells you what to wear for safety, but remember it will be really hot! Keep an open mind and be willing to learn!

This was a super unique and fun experience! We took our nephew who is visiting and he had a great time (as did we) learning how to work with the metal. The instructor was great about safety and showing us what to do, but encouraged creativity and making it your own art. Definitely a one-of-a-kind experience.

This was my first foray into metal forging; I had no idea what to expect. First; Lawless Forge is an amazing facility. It was thoughtfully built and definitely had the safety of its guests in mind. Second; our instructor - Zander - was just incredible. He had a strong focus on safety and gave enough nomenclature to educate without being overwhelmed. He demonstrated each step and allowed time for questions. During the forging process, he made himself available for help without crushing the creative process. He has a great sense of humor and he clearly enjoys his job. I will definitely be a return customer at Lawless!

Took our family out for such a fun evening. Something I never thought I'd ever do and we had a blast! Kyle was so cool with us and made it even more fun. We did a private class which makes sense if you have 5 but I've heard the public classes are great too. We all ended up with a unique treasure for out efforts.

We had a great time at Lawless Forge making knives from horse shoes! Our class had about ten to twelve folks in it with ages ranging from, I'd say about 8 years old to 55. Admittedly, I was a bit intimidated by the forge but quickly got used to working around the heat and melting our horse shoes. The practice required more arm strength than I was anticipating so it was extremely rewarding to see our finished project. I'd definitely go back to practice my blacksmithing skills!

Had a great time here yesterday celebrating a friend's birthday. Shoutout to our awesome instructor Kyle, who showed us some cool techniques for achieving different effects -- the decorative twist, shaping the fork prongs, sharpening them with the belt sander, etc.! They were great about safety, too. Would definitely come back and learn how to make more things!

We were greeted by 3 staff members (apologies I don't remember their names). I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

The site was well furnished with safety gear (goggles, gloves, etc.), tools (bats, sledgehammers, etc.) and objects to smash (microwave oven, water heater, glass bottles, etc.). It was stress relieving and fun with the opportunity to damage and destroy inanimate objects in a normally civilized world. I definitely recommend if in the DMV area.
