I specifically called to book the March Special, even clarifying this with the receptionist on the phone. Despite that, they booked me for regular haircuts and blow-dry instead. The issues only grew from there: * Pricing Discrepancy: The math on my initial $139 invoice didn't add up ($62 + $67 = $129). * Credit Card Error: The computer system showed one price when I paid, but my credit card was actually charged a different, higher amount. * Retrofitting the Math: When I pointed out the $139 total didn't match the $129 in services, I was sent a new invoice that suddenly included tax to justify the original $139. It felt like they were reverse-engineering the total by adding tax after the fact to make the numbers 'work.' I have never had tax added like that on any hair services. The salon offered to honor the special on a future visit, but since I'm from out of town, that doesn't help resolve the current overcharge. It's a shame because the talent in the chair is top-tier, but the lack of transparency and handling of the mishap were very disappointing. If you go for the great stylists, double-check your booking and your bank statement!"

I had grabbed two 3pm appointments, but got a call the day before that one of their hair stylists had called in sick so they'd have to do a 3pm and 3:45pm appt. Not ideal to sit around, but we were tired after a duke tour so fine to just sit around and rest. My daughter also walked around the shopping center for a bit while I got my hair done. Morgyn did a great job, although took a little longer for her to get our unruly locks straight in comparison to our blowout bar at home. I do think back at home they are just used to our hair and we are usually in and out in 25-30 minutes. This took a full 45 minutes. However, the finished product for both of us was great and many days later it still looked great even with all the heat and humidity. We try to rock those blowouts for as long as possible (thank you dry shampoo!) and this held up to the test!

Mina's put an end to that problem. From the amazingly pleasant and knowledgeable reception staff to my favorite pedicurist (calluses can be painful to remove and she has never hurt me) to the woman who totally gets my ever-thinning hair, I could not be happier. They even know my preferences in coffee drinks, delivered right to my chair. In fact, I'm headed there tomorrow for a relaxing hour or so, and I'm definitely looking forward to it. My only wish is that they would give me a real shave with a straight razor.

Dawn has been my go-to hair gal for 100 years - ok more like 15 (gosh where did the time go!). However, I moved to KC and haven't found a good hair lady here yet. So I wait. It had been two years almost since Dawn cut my hair but I got in touch with her a few weeks before I visited NC and she was able to get me in. Let me preface this with the fact that I haven't gotten my hair cut in about 20 months and wanted to donate my hair. I haven't had anything really done to my hair in that time. So I was ready for something drastic and fun for summer. Dawn came through. She tied my hair up into two pony tails, measured and cut off 10" of hair so I can donate that. Then she did highlights and layers and shaped my do up. I just got back to work today and everyone is raving about the change. I can wash my hair, scrunch and go and I am good to go. It is easy and fun and I love it. Thank you, Dawn, for another great hair experience. I explained that I was not comfortable having the same stylist again. I was told that, per their "policy," corrections had to be done by the original stylist. I looked up their policy myself, and nowhere does it state that clients are required to use the same stylist for a correction. Refusing to let a client choose a different stylist and claiming it's "policy" when it isn't publicly stated--is not acceptable. Instead of working with me, I was spoken down to and told, "I've worked at many salons, and this is how it usually is." As someone who has been getting blonde highlights for years, I was shocked by both the quality of the work and management's unwillingness to make things right. She is absolutely fantastic -- great eye, excellent technique, friendly and kind. She understands cutting with the hair and not fighting it, and how to work with the crazy humid weather we get here in NC. Kelsey locked into what I wanted pretty quickly and I trust her completely -- over the past few years all of my haircuts involve a quick chat and then me declaring, "Do what you think is best!" And we will occasionally do little edits to the overall look that keep things feeling fresh but still consistently what I want, and I've never been upset or disappointed. My hair is long, coarse, very thick, wavy hair. It is "Asian hair" but a little atypical due to its coarseness. I find that i need someone who really appreciates and understands hair texture to work with mine, because I prefer air-drying when possible and just having low-maintenance hair. Her haircuts are fairly priced ($50), and I've also come in for blow outs for special occasions (college reunion, weddings, big presentations at work, etc.) for an extra, very welcome boost. Last year I got a keratin treatment from her, too, and I loved the results -- much gentler than other straightening treatments I've had and results lasted a long time. She has online booking (just google her name), which make setting up appointments a snap. I've recommended Kelsey to multiple friends and want to recommend her to you, too! :) The atmosphere of the salon is fun, clean, and a little funky without being pretentious, annoying, or stuffy. Plus, Hot Headz is next to Joe Van Gogh coffee so you can get some work done beforehand or head over for a cup of coffee if you want to show off your fabulous new hairdo. Parking is easy in the lot beside The Green Room. Everyone in there is friendly, and they offer you a beer or glass of wine to sip on while you get your hair did. A+++

Angela Goldman rocks the hair world. I have been going to see her the last three years and couldn't imagine anyone else near my hair. She is so good, I just let her play with my color and style because I know whatever she comes up with I will be happy. I'm not talking crazy hair, just subtle changes that compliment the shape and style of your personality. I now take the whole family to Angela. My fiance always comes out looking "hot" and the kids feel like they are styling, as high school students should. Angela takes her time to hear what you want and is great at suggesting something you may not have thought of. She takes great care to make sure every customer is treated kindly and with respect. It's hard to find that person to let mess with your hair and believe me I had some hideous cuts before landing in her chair. If this sounds like you, I suggest making an appointment with Ang.

My son wanted a touch of pink in the front of his hair . He needed a cut as well. Sarah was great! My son is biracial so his hair is a little more complex and needs are different. As you see he has tight coils, curly ,wavy type of hair that goes every direction. He also has ADHD so he is constantly moving. Sarah was able to work around that and still get the job done. He's in love the end result
