I decided to go back to this place and give them another chance. What I have encountered had to do with deceptive billing. I asked the receptionist if I can Dip powdered. Nail tech, Roxanne came over and recommended acrylic. ok no problem. She did a good job. I went up to pay and the receptionist said $65.00 and 10.00 off. Total bill should be 55.00. From the corner of my eyes, I saw the receptionist tapped Roxanne on her hands and said she can't print the receipt. The reception proceeded to say this has never happened before. I said to her can't you reprint the receipt she said no. I knew something was not right, but didn't want to make a seen. I checked my account and my debit card was charged $66.95. when i had called to book an appointment at la vie nails i asked how much a gel manicure would be they said it would be $37. so i made my appointment and went in. my nails came out very cute. but when i went to check out they told me the manicure was $45 and the service fee was $25. never in my life have i ever heard of a 70 dollar gel manicure. when i asked them why the price was different they said it was because i got a design. one lady did my nails and a second lady came over to do the small flower on each of my nails. so they charged me the service fee for both of them. i am so outraged and appalled that they would charge me this amount. if they had told me it would be extra for a design i would have accepted that. but they didn't. i will never be going back to this nail salon again. read more

Has anyone else's nails broke off after just one week? I gave this place so many chances. Please keep in mind that the MAIN reason I kept coming here was because I work from 10-7/8pm and I don't have a lot of time and they happen to close at 9pm in the area where I work. So for that reason, I kept coming back because of my schedule and I like to keep up with my nails. The first few times, I had acrylic done by a nail tech (very sweet, very nice) I loved her work but every time, my one nail would always pop off after a week. I still gave them a few more chances because again is more accommodating to my work schedule. That will end after my last experience. First, I got a regular pedicure and the lady charged to take off my gel polish ($10) and then $10 to do a callus remover. All totaling to $50. She didn't even do a great job because the polish was not evenly applied. Then my nail broke off this past Saturday from the last time I got my nails done. And then another one just broke off this morning from simply putting on sneakers! It's only been a week and I got a clear gel set! I believe the owner did my nails. She did a rushed job and used tips and then gel which I heard isn't the right way. Correct me if I'm wrong. I get in the chair and I told her I have to remove my nails, I was thinking of getting a gel set because I was going on vacation and I wanted them to last longer because I know gel nails do last longer. I also wanted a coffin shape and get them cut down and then have two colors. Nothing fancy or crazy because I knew it was going to be a lot with the gel set and removing of my current set. First I didn't like her attitude, then she tells me she will let me know how much it will be. Okay. She then goes and tells me that it will be $65 and then if I wanted a gel set it'll be $20 more. I spent $85 and no I didn't fight her because I didn't have time to go anywhere else. BUT on their pricing list, acrylic is $35 and then clear gel is $55. So where is she getting $65 for acrylic and $85 for a clear get set? I'm just trying to figure that out. I also know another lady was questioning why she was being charged so much more so I know it's not me. When I asked about the gel set lasting more then the acrylic, the lady was like "well I can't guarantee that they won't break off, you have to take care of them; it's up to you" I am just overall disappointed that my nail broke off only after one week of getting the gel set when it's supposed to last. Checked out the salon on a wim a couple of weeks ago (9/16) because I was in the mall & a friend of mine shared that they had a good experience. I had a full set and pedicure. My nail tech was friendly, hospitable and accommodating. While I didn't love my nails, I still really appreciate her efforts! I saw a different person for my pedicure. Unfortunately the polish didn't last well at all. This is what my toes looked like exactly one week later. I got regular nail polish like I always do and have never had this issue. I work remotely so the majority of the time, I'm barefoot. I really don't know what could explain this besides watered down or cheap polish. I just removed the nail polish from the manicure and noticed the girl who filed my nails did the worst job possible. They were all uneven, as if this person never worked in a nail salon before. I seriously doubt these people who work at this venue have any certifications. None of them really speak English and the manager uses her dirty nails to clean mistakes when the polish goes over the cuticles. So glad I didn't get an infection! I was so worried. The polish chipped 1 day after and the coats were so thin, they felt like a one coat manicure that looked very cheap. Do not go here for a manicure or pedicure! I wish I can get my $55 plus $10 tip back and go somewhere else. The toe polish was completely chipped off and smeared 2 days later. This has never happened to me before. I stopped into LaVi Nails because I was in a rush and really needed to get my nails done. I was already in the mall and figured this was the most ideal place to stop into. During my first experience, I decided to get a full set + gel manicure. The atmosphere was nice, calm, and very aesthetic. The ladies dress nice and are professional. The only downfall is their prices. For the full set and gel, I paid $80 (just to give everyone an idea of pricing). I didn't get anything spectacular done, just one simple gel color on all of my nails. There's an air bubble on one nail and a few places at the edge of the nail not covered by the top coat. I came here because I really needed my nails done ASAP and Lavi was the only salon open past 8. The salon was pretty packed for a Wednesday evening. I walked in, employees saw me, I waited, waited, waited, and finally after waiting for 5 minutes at the front, I was asked what needed to be done. Gel mani/regular pedi. No other customers came after me until I was seated at a pedi chair. Again, waited in my pedi chair for another 10 minutes. Mind you, they do not soak your feel while you're waiting. The lady who did my pedi was really nice, but she took a really long time only because she realized last minute that I also needed a mani. I had a problem with my ingrown and she made sure it wasn't painful anymore. Onto the mani lady, very nice lady. They have a slim lamp on every table so they could see better. Now, I don't really understand how you could really mess this up if you have "help" (meaning the lamp). After I was done, my polish DID NOT start right where my cuticles are. There was a space in between. I have attached photos. I was there for a very long time that even the women that came after me, was out of there before me AND some of them had also gotten gel mani/reg pedi I used to be a loyal customer for many years until I found a place that's cheaper and sanitary. I'm sorry to say I didn't find value in visiting LaVi. I was getting a gel fill in manicure and it absolutely disappointed. I came here because the pricing and proximity and availability which all were great. However, I would have rather traveled further away and paid more to actually get the service done correctly. I don't think the nail techs have poor intentions, I just don't think they're properly trained. I did not feel a sense of cleanliness or diligence. This was a very quick no frills manicure. All that was done was gel filling and painting. No proper filing, cuticle work, nothing. It really was an emergency that I ended up here instead of my regular spot because my nails were practically coming off. I have been in search of a place to get a dip manicure where the top coat doesnt chip after one day. I'm confident the dip manicure I received from Gloria at Lavi will hold up. She was so sweet, and took great care to make my nails look great. I would absolutely go back for a dip manicure with Gloria. With that being said, I also needed a pedicure and I'm truly disappointed. The bottom of my feet looked worse than when I arrived. I paid $50 for both services and only one of them was worth it. This isn't my go to place and nor is it convenient so I probably won't be back but if I am in GSP and needed my nails done desperately I would go back. A pedicure is $25. The girl who did my nails did a good job and really took her time to make sure it would look good. Throughout the day I think they could clean the floors a little bit. I went an hour before closing and the floor area they do nails had a ton of nails that they had clipped earlier on the ground. The regular floor was a little dirty. This nail salon was a NIGHTMARE! Passing by, it was a last minute decision to go. The prices are decent at the beginning, then they continue to charge you more for color and shape without letting you know. Even a plain color and simple filing for a shape. My nail had a hole outside, the woman doing my nails cut me three times and then put acetone on top of my cut obviously multiple times. I had to ask her to redo them 3 times because they looked absolutely atrocious. All my nails are different shapes and some different lengths. I am not sure if they are licensed but they cannot do nails for anything. Women are coming in and out with multiple Nordstrom bags taking photos at the front of the salon with all the workers, all of the workers get up to pose at the front of salon, while locking the doors, so customers cannot come in and out. My nails look hideous, chunky, and they had holes. I am disgusted by the managers rudeness and disrespect towards me for asking to redo my nails or even get a refund since this is not what I asked for whatsoever and they seemed to be keeping me and my friend in there for as long as they could stall. They are completely disorganized and a huge mess. The salon seems good on the outside, neat, clean and a beautiful atmosphere. But in reality, they cannot do nails and even the front desk workers are very unhelpful and disrespectful when needing assistance. They wouldn't even look me in the eye while speaking to me and threaten to call security just for asking them to redo it. They were yelling at each other and everyone inside seemed very confused when all the workers would get up for long periods of time to go laugh and play around with the others at the front desk. I've been here a handful of times in the past 6 months I'd say, and I have no complaints on skills or service. I never ask for anyone in particular when I go, so it's been mostly new faces every time, and they've all done a wonderful job. However, the price has been different with every visit. It was never drastically different, and I always go in a rush before work, so I haven't bothered to ask- I assumed maybe the artist I'd had that day was more skilled than the previous time. It was $55 my first time there, then $60, then $65... This most recent time, I asked for the same thing I have done every time, which is a set of Gel tips, and it was $90 ... jumping in price a near $30. When I asked why, they showed me the pricing sheet and pointed at the service I had done with a '$60' next to it. They said "this is the starting price". They proceeded to tell me I was charged for color, shaping, this, that, etc. Everything is a la carte, which isn't stated, and is ridiculous as I've never heard of that in any other nail salon. They told me the reason it chipped is because I have long nails and they did not want to seem to repaint the chipped nail. They just filed it down and applied a top coat. I came here for a few months to get my nails done (a gel set with gel color, usually a French manicure) because my preferred salon was a bit out of the way. Huge mistake! The cost would range from $60-80 depending on the day. I found this odd bc i always got the same thing (gel fill in with a French manicure design). My nails would cost so much and they wouldn't even cut the cuticle. The nails were poorly done so I'd have to come back every 2 weeks to get a fill in when my entire life my nails have lasted 3-4 weeks before needing a fill in. Most recently, i got a basic set out of desperation and 3 days later a nail came clean off. I went back in to have it fixed and they charged me because "too much time passed." Now a couple of days later, another nail came off in the same exact place while i was putting on a sock. A SOCK. I wasn't lifting weights or performing surgery with my nail - i put on a sock! On what planet do you pay $70+ to get your nails done and then have the nails destroyed by a sock???! Anyway, i refuse to go back. I have already wasted so much money here and this review doesn't include the nasty things the managers will say about clients in front of other clients. Very clean business, saw me as a walk in on Christmas Eve. That's where the good ends. I'll break it down, saying that I saw them on December 24th around 5 or 6PM for a UV gel overlay with gel nail polish. Walked in trying to get ombré acrylic set and they told me if i add any additional colors even just to one nail it's an extra $20. I said no and walked over to look at different colors because now my idea is out the window price went from 65$ to over $150 and there was no clear cut price. The nail tech took someone else and now my "appointment" is gone. Extremely dissatisfied and upset at their customer service, yelling at me "they told me the price already " yet it kept changing. I paid for my pedicure and got out of there as fast as possible. I have never felt more uncomfortable in a salon. I came in with an idea called to get a price range and walked out with the gel scraped off my nails. I felt the need to go out of my way to let others know. The only good thing about this place is that they are open late. PERIOD It is pricier than others. They charge 10 dollars to soak off gel color (which they don't disclose in advance and comes as a surprise at the time of paying your bill) On my visit I payed 70 dollars for a "spa pedi", i got someone that was clearly in training but there was no one there to supervise what she was doing. She took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get my pedicure done and that is without applying nail polish because she was not able to and kept messing my nails so after the third time she tried, I had to ask someone else to paint them. CRAZY Then, another tech was doing my soak off my hands and was filing my nails so hard to accelerate the process that she cut me above my cuticle (which actually hurt A LOT) and not even a flinch or apology from her. I DID ASK HER TO PLEASE APOLOGIZE AT LEAST AS SHE CLEARLY SAW I WAS IN PAIN. it's been 3 days since that horrific experience and my gel color is already chipping (i dont do heavy work or house chores or dishes so no reason for my gel color to be chipped 3 days later). Unless it's an emergency and it's late do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS PLACE. THEY ONLY SEEM TO BE NICE TO THEIR REGULARS. I admire their commitment to servicing all of their clients - both appointment and walk-in. However this dedication to getting in every customer should not take precedence over the quality of work being given. I was a walk in and appreciated being seated however the woman doing my nails was doing another customer's nails right next to me at the same time... she also got up 2 or 3 times to do eyebrow waxing. My manicure was beautiful but one nail lifted underneath the tip within a day (salvageable with nail glue and wasn't a problem after that). I'm not sure if it would have lifted if she was giving me an adequate amount of attention. Another thing that concerned me is that there were people waiting on service while at the same time there were many employees without anything to do... some were cleaning up, talking, or on their phone while a few select employees took on the clients. Not sure if this means that only some employees can perform certain tasks or what...
