First, I made an appointment for 5pm, but when I got there, she told me to wait a few minutes. By a "few minutes," she meant 40 minutes. Second, I got a Groupon for a $23 service but when I got there, she said she charged $5 for tax despite the fact that NJ doesn't tax for services. When I told her I have never had to pay tax for my Groupons, she argued that it was standard, THEN asked me how much I had paid for the Groupon. She either doesn't know how taxes work or has been conning Groupon users this whole time. $5 tax for a $23 Groupon is over 20%. I told her I wasn't going to pay her anything beyond the tip after the service and just walked out. Notified Groupon nearly 10 weeks ago and they still haven't done anything about it. I think it's one of the first times in my life where I really would like to leave 0 stars for a place. I came in and asked if they offered eyebrow waxing services, to which the employee replied yes. She ask if I had tried threading to which I replied that I had and it really irritated my skin, causing bumps every time. She proceeded to begin waxing my eyebrows but, suddenly, I started to feel the thread going instead. I asked her if she had a tweezers and she replied that the thread would be faster, so I reminded her once more about the irritation it causes me. She stopped working on them and provided a mirror for me to see them. They looked almost identical to how they were when I came in but, this time, I was bleeding on two corners! I told her to forget it, paid the $9 dollars she charged me for that and left. The lack of accountability and low level of service is unacceptable. read more

Found this place through Groupon, and visited for Eyelash lift. Although the lift turned out OK, the glue was left unremoved on both of my eyelids... Unfortunately I had to remove/peel off the dried glue myself which was painful :( read more

I just read the reviews and I was shocked! My brows are very bushy and the hair is really thick so I started getting my brows done since I'm 14 (I'm 18 now). I was looking for a new place in my new area and I discovered Brow Art 23! The waiting area is nice, I don't mind waiting since it's a walk in store! They seem to know what they're doing and I like the result! Getting my brows done doesn't hurt but my eyes tend to water a lot because my skin is very sensitive and they always give me tissues and they let my skin relax for a little bit. I'll be in fact going back next week to check my second box of my card and I'll be happy to show the result on yelp! read more

Had an excellent, efficient brow thread and tint done at this location. Very happy with the time the service took, the short wait time, the attention I received from the aesthetician, and with the results! 1 star is being overly generous. This is the second time I've had an issue with this place. I've gone here a dozen times and it's always a hit or miss. This time however , the lady took a CHUNK off the top beginning of my eyebrow and when I asked her about it she acted like she had no idea what was going on and asked if she wanted me to take the rest off to even it out. Someone else came over to try and fix it but the damage was already done, no apology, and just asked me for my $12. I specifically asked the lady who was doing my eyebrows to NOT MAKE THEM TOO THIN, what did she do?? The opposite. After getting my eyebrows threaded for years I can honestly say that this is the worst experience I have ever had and that woman should not be allowed to go near anybody's face. It was seriously like she macheted my brows, literally cut them in half and the worst part is she couldn't even get the shape to be even. She was also extremely rough so my eyebrows are now swollen, uneven and will take months to grow back. I went to the one in Paramus Park Mall they are the worst ever. I wish I could give them a negative 0. I gave them two chances and they messed my eyebrows twice. The second time I went I told the girl just a clean up. My eyebrows already had shape all I needed was to clean up the area where hair had grown. She practically left me without eyebrows she reshaped and threaded so much of my eyebrows down I had to go to Sophora to get eyebrow makeup and had the girl show me how to fix my eyebrows with make up. After getting my eyebrows waxed my face was completely burnt and the lady smiled and did not tell me anything until I went to the bathroom it was too late and had noticed all the burn marks. Horrible experience! I've come to the Paramus location numerous times to get my eyebrows waxed but will not be returning. Not sure of her name but I was serviced on 3/3 by a woman that works in the booth closest to the back of the establishment. Someone please get her some lessons in customer service! She was full of critiques, followed by attempts at up-selling a service. If you want a customer to purchase something, you probably shouldn't insult them first. Initially, she argued that I need to stop waxing my eyebrows because there are "too many spaces of missing hair" and I should purchase tint to get them darker. I haven't waxed my eyebrows in years and have been coming to Brow Art the last few times I got them done. Next, she "suggests" that I stop waxing my lip and thread because my hair is "too thick". Fast forward two days later and i still have white bumps all around my mouth from her double dipping. How embarrassing. After all of this, I STILL tipped 20% (hey, my brows did look decent). She swipes my card (with an attitude after I declined to purchase a package) and immediately says "your card doesn't work". I tell her to swipe it again and she says "no, come look at my screen... your card doesn't work". I'm furious at this point... She finally swipes again and what do you know... she doesn't know how to work the machine. Please learn from my mistakes and go somewhere else! read more

Very disappointed, had appt for 3d lashes,after worker had done a fill on my lashes from elsewhere.got to appt, and was told she doesn't do them,and the only clusters she does is drugstore quality with temp glue .Go to a better salon for eyelash extensions, alot of miscommunication, between lash girl and manager.would not recommend.brows may be a different story, but was 3 visits of stress,I now have barely any lashes left. read more

After the way they completely mangled my friend's beautiful thick eyebrows, pretended to take down her information the first time she called, and then the manager proceeded to tell her that it was basically her fault and that her pictures of herself WEREN'T HER until she had to physically pull up the full pictures to prove they were her, I would never recommend anyone go here. Clearly they don't care for customer service and by the time she got compensation she had already been put through hell and the manager had already shown her true colors just to beg for her to take down her Yelp review at the end. Sorry, people need to see that you guys are not a place people should be trusting their eyebrows with. If you can't do a simple clean up and basically take off half of someones brow and leave them with uneven, not even shaped brows then you shouldn't be touching people's facial hair.
