I want to say the waxing here is GREAT! One of the best I've gone to in Jersey! Also, it was very easy to book an appointment. The staff is professional and friendly. Parking is somewhat difficult but that's to be expected in this area. However, the brow tinting was low quality. The staff member who did it put the tint all over my skin, and didn't do the full length of one of my brows. This meant my brow looked unnaturally thick but also short, since the front of my brow was not tinted. Then, when the staff member was removing the tint from my brows, she got some on my brow bone. I asked her to clean it up, but she said it would fade on its own. It did not. It peeled my skin and took off a few layers. If the tinting was done JUST over my eyebrow hair, it probably would have looked great. It faded within 4-5 days so I didn't have to deal with it for long, but I was surprised that a $30 tinting service (which included the waxing) faded so quickly. I did tell them that the service was not up to standard/the pictures on their pages. They apologized but said there was nothing they could do. Again, the waxing and staff are great! but the tinting is definitely a no from me. read more

I came today for an eyebrow tint with Amrit. I was serviced quickly, and the eyebrow threading was fast and looked really nice. I would definitely come back for threading. The eyebrow tinting though... personally I won't get again. I have light brown eyebrows, and they were tinted black. There was some tiny left on my skin that looked patchy, so I scrubbed them when I got home. It should fade but I just feel like they shouldn't have been tinted so dark. I got these done ahead of time for a vacation, and I'm really glad I didn't get them closer to leaving. If you have lighter hair, I wouldn't recommend getting your brows tinted here. read more

It's a bit hit or miss for me. My friend referred me because I was tired of going to NYC to my usual spot for threading. At first I did threading with Amrit and I loved how they came out even and not thin she gave me a nice shape. Second time Amrit wasn't there I don't remember who it was I was a walk in and my eyebrows looked totally different, not too bad for you to notice but for me I was too conscious upset about it. I waited three months decided to book an appointment with Amrit she did a great job again especially for someone who was talking on the phone. I went back before my trip and did my eyebrows with Amrit and decided to try the eyebrow tint. She did it for me I was scared because even though it's not permanent it can look bad lol she did it and went talking on her phone to another room I was scared she forgot about me and called out to her. But thankfully everything looked great they looked natural and full eyebrows very beautiful. Two months later which is today I decided to go back to do the eyebrow thread and tint again. They are currently in a sister location in Nutley which was a 35min ride for me but I was excited to get my eyebrows done again with Amrit. Here's my reason for 3 stars, she talks too much on the phone I'm sorry. I just feel like eyebrows are your face they make you I'm I trusting you with this sacred spot and want you to focus and work your magic. She did a great job threading, and then when she did the tint this time I noticed she wasn't as precise and had to clean up a lot then she put her head down giving me her back and started talking on the phone for 15 minutes more than the first time she did it. I guess point is this... 1) too much talking when doing eyebrows. 2) she wasn't focused so she over did the tint it and marked on my skin looked overly done and bad not natural like the first time. read more

I've been coming here for years for eyebrow tinting, eyebrow threading and have had lashes put in twice. 4 stars Eyebrow tinting with Amrit is usually good. Today they were perfect. 4 stars Eyelashes -Rana has done mine twice And she is great! Waxing by Amrit ZERO stars. Today I had my brows and Nikon wax done by Amrit. The eyebrow threading and tinting I feel we're good. The waxing I've NEVER done here. Figured for $15 why not. Big difference from European Wax Cr at $45. Waxing was HORRIBLE! Amrit BLAMED ME immediately and said oh you moved so when you get home put ice down there. She told me this quite a number of times! Well I got home, put ice pack as she recommended and I wasn't really in that much pain but I was also rushing to prepare dinner and off to the next thing. I looked this evening, a few HRS later and I am Burned and bruised! BLACK AND BLUE. Never have I ever been burned nor bruised this way! NEVER! I am calling tomorrow bc this is unacceptable! I am bruised and going on vacation in less than 2 days! They also do micro blading but I'm still skeptical. I may try them however one of these days but only with Amrit. read more

We recently moved and now I need to start looking for my new "everything.." from hair salon, nails, grocery to how can I forgot BROWS! I found Dockery on Yelp and thought let me give this place a try. Now we know we can take changes with brows but worst case scenario you can pencil in errors. So I decided to take our trustworthy yelpers opinions and made my way to Dockery. Amrit was the person who threaded my eyebrows and I was impressed. She was quick and very thorough. She threaded my eyebrows well and probably the quickest brow visit ever. I must have been in her chair for perhaps 5 mins or so. I also think it's because my eyes brows aren't difficult to handle. My only complain is that there was no powder or sort of lotion they usually put on your brows to either cool them off or not have them itchy as much. That was disappointing because I feel like you need either one since your brows, at least mine, itch a lot after threading. Other great parts of my visit was that they accept credit cards ($10 min) and you can put your tip on it as well. You can book your appointment online and they offer lots of time slots. They offer a various services for all of your beauty needs. This place may become my new eyebrow place. read more

I tried emailing all this but no response. I'm a regular and have been coming for years. They do a good job. Lately, I've noticed that there aren't enough people doing eyebrows and you have many waiting, some with or without appointments. It gets confusing knowing who is next and people frequently walk out after waiting for over 30 min and then getting passed up when someone with an appointment walks in. It's frustrating and a bit unfair to expect people to wait that long for a 5 min service. I also overheard people complaining that they couldn't make appointments as the schedule was full for a while. They were nice enough to comp the cost one day. I wanted to suggest that there be a sign in sheet for everyone to sign when they arrive and indicate their appointments. If they're late past 10 min of their appointment time, then their appointment should be forfeited. Another suggestion is to have 2 people servicing, one for appointments and the other for walk ins. I think I'm general, a staff of 2-3 on the weekends would help. Also, to purchase the unlimited facial threading, it's $30 online and $35 in store. If you do it online, you have to create a paypal account, which I don't want to do. Can I just receive a subscription card in store and be charged the $30? They allowed me to do this twice now and then I tried to renew again and they said they need permission from the owner??? They told me to text the owner? Why isn't there a clear process and rules in place? Very confusing. Hoping you consider changing some things to speed up the process and reduce confusion. Thank you. read more

I've gotten my lashes and brows done here a couple of times and I've always been happy with my results! PROS: 1.) they offer many services-face waxing/threading, body waxes, eyelash extensions, tinting, facials, eyelash tech classes, etc 2.) GOOD QUALITY LASHES! I get the natural set 12mm length, D curl, doll eye style. I've gotten lashed by Rana and Olga, who are both very sweet. All the other lash techs are very good too! The lashes stay on for a good amount of time and the techs really care about detail and give you what you want 3.) they have a rewards system for every dollar you spend you get 1 point. You accumulate a certain number of points for free brow threading, fill ins, etc 4.) got my brows threaded by Amrit and she gave me just what I wanted! Natural shape, not too skinny CONS: 1.) twice I've had to wait 15-20 minutes after my appointment time. But I can understand that you can fall behind and things happen 2.) they only have street parking and it can be a hassle sometimes 3.) their waiting area is small and can get crowded very quickly I highly recommend you to get serviced here! I asked her to leave the color on a little extra so it wouldn't fade away in a day or two, as it easily can. Due to my own apprehension, I was initially scared to get my eyebrows threaded seeing as I've only ever gotten them waxed by a private brow guru before. I had been paying upwards of $70 every month for my brows. I came here per a referral and I was pleasantly surprised. My eyebrows are shaped and sculpted beautifully. I believe I only pay around $8 per session and I have not looked back. Eyebrows are a sensitive thing... you have to really trust the technician doing them, and I do. The only thing I would recommend is to be VERY CLEAR when asking for dyed brows. One time I got a less than desirable color, but they fixed it. The receptionists and technicians are always friendly and inviting, and there is a point/incentive system for every time you go. Parking isn't great... I had read great reviews prior to visiting Dockery for the first time and drove close to 25 minutes to get there and get my lashes done. When I arrived I was not greeted or shown around. I was surprised when I didn't have to sign a waiver or fill out any paperwork before getting my lashes done as most places require this. The girl who did my lashes was very talented and did a great job however she didn't wear gloves which may have caused an infection in my eyes. Less than 48 hours after getting my lashes on I woke up with my eyes swollen shut and had to call out of work and go to the doctor immediately. I've had my lashes done at 4 different places before and have never had this reaction. My doctor told me it's an infection from bacteria and their tools not being cleaned properly. Fast, friendly and talented employees! I messaged the owner for an appt just a day in advance, but they also take walk-ins. They took me right away, 10 minutes earlier than my appt. and the employee (didn't get her name) convinced me to do threading instead of waxing as she said it lasts longer. I was hesitant because it hurt so much at a different place, but my threader was patient with me and it didn't hurt as much as I thought after all. I went to Dockery's Brow Bar this past weekend and going here pushed me to get them done more often. $8 and you're in and out the door super fast with a high quality job. I had been receiving lash extensions for about 2 years at various salons, and after giving my lashes a much needed break, I decided to try a lift. I have lashes that grow down and I wanted something with less of a time commitment than extensions. After a few scheduling hiccups, I finally landed an appointment with Tamika and all I can say is WOW! I have been coming here for nearly 4 years, but will not be returning. I was always pleased with the eyebrow threading service but the last two visits have changed my mind. The first time, I came in for a cleanup and the girl threading my eyebrows was very careless, left me with many stray hairs, and had my eyebrows looking practically the same as when I came in. My eyebrows were never identical to each other, but after this past visit, they are extremely uneven. A lot more hair was removed from my left eyebrow as opposed to my right, making my left eyebrow look sparse and short. LOVED my experience at dockery!! I had a 10 am appointment and came early (around 9:15 am) because of ride convenience and decided to get my eyebrows threaded! First time that my eyebrows haven't stung from getting threaded / I didn't cry from it! careful, beautiful work!! My lash technician was Tamika and she did a gorgeous job!! She was so thoughtful and sweet when discussing what I wanted with pictures I had for reference as well as considering my lashes (as they are straight!) She explained the length she would do as well as the type of curl, and made sure she added more intensity to the edges of my lashes!! She knew that I wanted the ends to stand out so she used darker lashes for that affect!! I'll give it another try because it's convenient and they did good other then the abrasions left on one eye lid. Also no calming gel or anything after. First, let me start by saying I've been a happy customer of the Dockery Brow Bar for 3 years. I started with Armit getting Brazilians, and for the past 2 years I've been doing Lash extensions with Tamika (the owner) and Niyah (former employee). Yesterday, I made a Lash appointment for 10:15am today with Stephanie. I told the receptionist I wanted either a Glam or Volume set. I hadn't decided which one I wanted, but since they both take approximately 2 hrs, I didn't think it mattered. Stephanie called 9am this morning to confirm the appointment. When Stephanie arrives, she asks if I am getting the Glam set. I said no, I wanted the Volume. It is at this time she states she does not do Volume sets. When I ask Stephanie why, she stated she just doesn't. She later explained that it takes her too long to do the Volume set, so she only does Natural and Glam. Stephanie then goes into another room and calls Tamika. After about 5 - 10mins, Stephanie comes out and starts looking at the schedule with the Receptionist. She asks her to pull up Sunday, then Saturday, and then Friday. It is at this point, I tell them that I cannot come this weekend. Stephanie then says well Tamika and another person are the only ones that do the Volume set, and they are completely booked this weekend, thus, I would have to wait until next week to get my lashes done. I stood up, said thank you, and walked out the door. This experience was so unprofessional in so many ways from management, all the way down. I hasn't done my eyebrows in quite some time so the woman who worked on my eyebrows had a lot of work to do and she did great. Honestly sad to have to write this seeing as I thoroughly revised them before going in. I went in for a lash perm lift and tint.AVOID GETTING LASH LIFT HERE. While the women in the department were very nice and accommodating, the skills of Tamika were not up to par, especially seeing the reviews online. I've had my eyelashes tinted and lifted before and it was always impeccable. But this session with tamika was rushed and finished within or less than 30 minutes. This procedure takes over and hour and I just knew she had messed up. My eyelashes were not thoroughly combed or placed on the sticky Cushion that curl the eyelashes. When I was finished and looked at the end result, I was so upset. My left eyelashes were not curled or combed through, my righr eyelashes were burned and permed my eyelashes to BEND STRAIGHT UP, AND NOT CURLED AT ALL. MY EYELASHES are so messed up that I look surprised all the time. This was such a poorly done job and DO NOT get them done here. Do not get your eyelash lift from.this location. I really appreciate when businesses take Yelp reviews seriously without taking them personally. A few months ago I posted a 1 star review based on wait time and a rushed eyebrow job but I remained connected to the Instagram account and saw a number of changes being made. Since then they've encouraged and honored appointment times and expanded their staff. So third times the charm! I made an appointment today and was seated as soon as I walked in. I took a chance with Charul and LOVED the way she consulted me about my brows BEFORE picking up any thread. She detailed exactly how she was going to clean up and shape my brows and asked very specific questions about my preferences. I really appreciated the extra 2 minutes she took consulting because it provided a particular level of comfort as she proceeded to thread. It also helped produce better results (greater customer satisfaction) because she knew exactly what I wanted. I'll be coming back as long as Charul is working. read more
