I had been growing my eyebrows out for a full year and it was finally time for me to get them done. I had been searching for a good eyebrow salon and was very happy that I was able to find one so close to home and with such good reviews! I stopped by here today during lunch to try and take advantage of their lunchtime special deals (I believe it's $5 for eyebrow threading on Tuesday and Wednesday's between 12PM-2PM). I tried to wait, but they were a bit busy when I got there so I decided I would come back later after work. I returned later in the afternoon and I was serviced by Amrit. She was very nice and remembered seeing my face earlier that day and told me to sit in her chair and apologized for the wait earlier. There was another customer waiting, so I definitely wasn't expecting preferential treatment for having been there waiting earlier, but I thought it was a kind gesture. Amrit knew exactly how I wanted my brows - as thick as possible with a good arch. She was finished with my brows in less than 3 minutes and they look so good! My brows are still a work in progress so I appreciated that she left as much hair on my brows as she could while still making sure that they were cleaned up well. The salon is very clean and the prices are very affordable. I will definitely be returning! read more

So sad and disappointed that I have to even post this updated review. My eyebrows are a mess and unfortunately, it is all due to the lack of communication at Dockery's. I went in today and sat with my regular technician, commenting that I wasn't loving how messy my brows looked as of late, completely understanding that I havr gaps in my brows and that she would need to work some magic. We were almost done, when she mentioned that she was going to remove a few more hairs to "even them out". I should have asked her to show me where they were going to be removed, because when she was done, one was VISIBLY thinner than the other, and I was beyond upset. While I wasn't charged, her answer was to use pencil, or to have them dyed there, or worse yet: TATTOOED. Why?!?! I almost cried when I left. Anyone who has grown out eyebrows knows what an ordeal it is, and for it to be ruined in a matter of seconds is...devastating. So, now while I wait for this to fix itself, I will be searching for another place to take my business. Such a shame. read more

Heard great things about this place and am very sure they live up to their reviews. However, got a full face wax and eyebrow threading yesterday and unfortunately they are not even close trained to handle any facial services. My eyebrows were bleeding and the lady didn't bring the wax heater close enough despite my asking her to so she literally was pulling cold wax off my skin. Immensely painful. I've been waxing my skin for years and never had sensitive skin but she kept saying my skin was sensitive. MAYBE you don't know how to wax?! She didn't use the right sized sticks and the wax was solid when she was spreading it on. Not to make anyone cringe but imagine a strip being slowly pulled off and their still being wax on your skin. Yikes!!! Anyways, I woke up today with cuts all over my skin and was asked "what happened to your face?" 3 times. The best part is she doused my cut skin in witch hazel so my face burned as badly as it waxed. I ended up coming home and removed extra hairs around my brows and face that she didn't capture. Lastly, I was charged an extra $5 for a few square inches of my neck but full face doesn't cover neck. Next you tell someone it's extra, tell them before you pour cold wax on their face!! read more

Came after work on a whim because I needed my brows threaded, but the woman I used to go to for 6 years moved back to India. Waited ~15 minutes with no appointment. I was very pleased with the results, especially for the price of $8. Definitely will be coming back! I came today because I was in dire need of my eyebrows to be groomed. I've been wanting to come here, so I finally did! Dockery's Brow Bar is located on the busy street of Teaneck Road in Teaneck, NJ. It's street parking so you'll have to parallel park. The inside looks nice and clean. Although the workers are friendly, they also didn't seem too welcoming at first. I just walked in without an appointment so I don't know if that was the problem, but I read that it was ok for walk-ins. Either way, the woman that did my eyebrows didn't really tell me how she'd shape my eyebrows. She pretty much just went for it. That was a little strange to me, but it was quick and only took like 5 minutes. In the end, I really loved how my eyebrows turned out. First off the only things that I've had done here are my eyebrows and my eyelashes. I got a cluster set of eyelashes which was $30, and the the first time I did them- they were terrible. Looked horrible, fell off, uneven, and droopy. Then, I went back to do them again and give the place another chance and I actually really loved them this time. Until a small part fell off after a few days and I asked to fix them and she made it worse. They looked really bad so I had my cousin try to remove them- she said they didn't even use the proper glue and it was so clumpy and they used way too much. It was a nightmare to get off. Not to mention, the reason I took them off is because I got an unbearable pain and tearing in my eye because one was too long and it was touching inner eye maybe and caused very bad irritation to my eye. I'm actually pretty sure I have an eye infection now. But any who the lady who did my eyelashes also did my eyeBROWS and did an AMAZING job. Never had anyone listen and do them as perfectly as she. I love how she did my eyebrows and will definitely be back for that. As for the eyelashes- horrible. Go somewhere and spend the extra money to have them done. BUT this is a great eyebrow place. I found this place on Yelp but was very hesitant even with the great reviewed. I decided to put a recommendation request on social media & many ladies kept referring this place + Amrit. So I decided to give it a try. A few things to point out - 1. You can make appointments online for your services + person..i love this because let's be honest, who likes waiting. 2. When I arrived I was greated immediately and was given the option to get my service done at the moment with someone else or wait until my person was available. Loved! I decided to wait. 4. Very clean and professional setting. 5. The service = Amrit was amazing! I explained to her my situation. She took her time and allowed me to continue to look at the work as she did it to ensure I liked it. The end result is that I now have a new eye brow place + person! I loved my eye brows. First time there. Went there on a Sunday. The response on yelp was within the timeline described on yelp. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment through their website which was easy and fast. I received a text message confirming my appointment. The place is easy to find but no parking. I went in and there was only the esthetician doing the eyebrows. I stood in the middle of the salon and waited to see who can I tell that I had an appointment. No one look up other than the other ladies waiting. I sat down and took notice of who was ahead so I can go after the last person, as it is in other eyebrow places. After the lady finished with the lady in the chair another went. 10 Minutes past my appointment time. Another two more ladies to go... my thoughts. However another lady came in and announced she had an appointment 5min before my time and sat on one of the esthetician's chair. Once she finished with the lady on the chair, the lady waiting sat up to go next but the one that had announced her appointment said she arrived an hour earlier and not been taken care of. I also announced I had an appointment. At this point a lady from the back room appears and asked my name to see if had an appointment and couldn't find me but took my word for it. Another lady walked in and claimed she had an appointment. The lady waiting walked out because she didn't had an appointment and wasn't told and at that point had been waiting 40 minutes. The esthetician was now complaining that she had had no break and was hungry and the other employee went to get her water. Overall once my turn the lady just did my eyebrows with no consultation. I told her that I needed just as thick as possible and went about finishing my eyebrows. She did a good job. Overall too much drama for an appointment. The business needs to do a better job on keeping appointments and keeping track. More help to the ladies helping. I saw two other employees but they just peeked out of the back leaving the lady alone in the salon. read more

I have been having a VERY hard time finding a place to get my eyebrows done. I've been living in NJ/NYC area for 2 years and my eyebrows have suffered! I explained to the beautician how sensitive my skin is and the inconsistencies with my eyebrow growth due to bad waxes in the past. She completely revived my eyebrows! Many people can thread but NOT everyone can shape! I'm so happy I finally found this place! Looking forward to even better eyebrows for the foreseeable future! I went for an underarm wax. I guess one of the rooms wasn't ready so the lady asked me if I minded getting it done in one of the chairs in the front where everyone was sitting and waiting (next to girls getting their eyebrows done). I was willing to wait for the room but the lady insisted that I go in the back (behind the curtain) next to a girl that was lying down getting her lashes done. The lady doing my wax laid me down across three chairs (not professional) to get the job done. She kept making sure I was okay, which I appreciated. I arrived 15 mins before and when I got there was told there was a delay, but by 3:40pm I was still sitting there so I decided to leave. Such a shame because they do such a beautiful job, but I would've much rather been called before and told to reschedule rather than sitting there for an hour. Side notes: The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. The salon is very small (and often busy), but clean, and parking is on a side street. This place changed my life. I have never had my eyebrows threaded before and was apprehensive about getting them done. Isha was so, so patient, kind, and professional-- I didn't know much about what eyebrow shapes would go well with different facial structures but after a few minutes of consulting, Isha went straight to work and worked some serious artistic magic. By the time she was done, I literally felt and looked like a new person. At $8 a session, I thought it was too good to be true but Isha has proven that miracles are possible! There was no wait and I liked the feeling of a reasonably small, practical space that prioritizes quality of service over frills. I know COVID has certainly changed things but for my most recent appointment I was waiting for over 20 minutes and when I walked in I had no place to seat but in the back. I called Dockery's and was able to make a same day appointment with Nancy. The gps is off because the place is on Teaneck road by the mis raices restaurant. I'm confused about how they rose their Brazilian wax prices 10 dollars... no warning. For that price, everyone might as well go to the European Wax center where you won't wait 40 min after your appointment time and better quality workers... especially with the manager going back and forth with me. TERRIBLE. They used to be great a couple of years back. Lost a consistent client. And since the manager insists on going back and forth with me, there HAVE been times I've waited 20 minutes plus when I had an appointment. A specific example is when I got my eyebrows done a couple of weeks back, I waited around 20 min for my appointment. And that is AFTER I allowed people who were waiting longer to before me. There was 1 person doing everything; I believe it was Amrit. On top of that, when I went to tip, I was judged for doing 2 dollar tip on my card when I was putting the rest in the jar. Curious if that person was the same manager going back and forth with me on here? Any who, good luck to anyone else who decides to go to this place. As for the manager, don't bother replying back. Initially when I read the reviews I was concerned my time would not be respected... however those comments seem to be very far from the truth. I called early this am for an appointment and the owner was more than welcoming and very accommodating. I made my appointment and waited o my 2-3 minutes. I left feeling GORGEOUS. Dockerys brow bar is the only place i trust with eye lashes and eyebrows!! I did my lashes a few times in the summer time, they were comfortable and looked great, lashes lasted around 14 days. My eyebrows i do not do as much but when i do i only go there. I've done my eye brows a few times this year and they always come out exactly how i want them. Would not recommend for underarm waxing. Person told me my underarms were black (um duh, whose underams aren't) and proceeded to wax my arm twice which made my sking very raw and sensitive. Everyone knows you shouldn't wax same spot twice read more

I made an appointment at 8:48 am for 10:00 am. I understand it was short notice so I did not mind when I was told that the persons for my lashes and tinting did not arrive. I was not bothered when they told me that the person I booked it with was in another state and they can accommodate me the next day. What bothered me was the person who did my tinting ignored my comments when I told her that one of my eye brows was arched and the other one was curved. I told her when she put the tint on and when she took it off that they are too different shapes and she just kept giving excuses instead of fixing it. I wasted $40 plus, $4 tip because she didn't deserve $10 that I usually give. Now I've no tinting because I cleaned it off and out money. This have caused me to cancel my eyelash appointment because I am not willing to waste over a $100 because this place cannot fix what they messed up. read more

I've been going here for 3 years and after the coronavirus pandemic, they finally opened for business again. I originally had an appointment with Heena but she was unavailable so someone else threaded my brows and waxed my upper lip. I understand businesses may be short staffed or employees may be getting trained but this appointment was unacceptable. I asked the brow threader to clean up and she took off a bunch of hair and ruined my brow shape and didn't even cut off the longer hairs, not to mention they're both uneven. When she went to wax my lip, it took off a layer of my skin which will later scab and she didn't take off the excess wax still on my skin. When I mentioned this, I was given anti itch cream which won't do anything and a half ass apology. She was also extremely rude and didn't show any customer service. When I was checking out, all she did was talk to the other employees instead of closing the sale with me. I even said I was going to give a cash tip and she put it on my card instead. After extensive research (aka, searching through instagram) I went to Dockery's Brow Bar which is about 35-40 minutes away from where I live (Maplewood) to get my lashes done for the first time. I am EXTREMLY happy that I did. When I make any appointment, I always try to get the earliest available time. I arrived at 9am and received a text that my technician would be a couple minutes late. Since I had to wait a couple minutes, I decided to get my eye brows threaded. I told them I just wanted it cleaned up. OMG...they turned out amazing!!!! She kept them thick and long which is exactly how I like them. Tamika did my lashes. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted (I knew I wanted a "natural" look) but she took the time to ask questions so she can get an idea. I just wanted something that looked like I put some type of effort into myself when waking up (lol). So WE decided on a natural look (not too natural) and she followed the original shape of my lashes. I LOVE THEM!!!!!! I told myself I am not going to get my lashes done often (in fear of them messing up my real lashes) but I want to go back earlier than expected. I originally said I would get them done every 8 weeks (so the false ones would fall out and to give my real lashes a break) but now I have changed it to 6 weeks (I hope I can hold out that long). read more

Then I found Dockery's brow bar and let me say i think i found my permanent eyebrow place because the amount of attention they gave to my eyebrows is exactly what i was looking for.
