Then the food is just out of this world delicious. Let's start with the MAFALDINE AMATRICIANA. This dish was the perfect item to display how well excited a dish can be here. Pasta Al dente, umami cured pork and delicious homemade tomato sauce. We also got the meatballs spaghetti, cacio e Pepe, Caesar's salad, and sourdough bread. Everything was phenomenal. Pro tips: 1. Street Parking can be tough. Rideshare or take transit. 2. Pet friendly with patio 3. Free corkage up to 2 bottles. Eddie Liquor Mart with large selection of wine is 3 minutes walk from restaurant.

I truly…read morehad high hopes based on some of the videos that I had seen, the people in line outside raving about this, and the reviews online. My first complaint is ordering at the register. I have strong feelings about this in general, and it kind of leaves a weird expectation to order and tip in an uncomfortable manner, when it's not a table service experience. In addition to that, we were sat outside and they really need to add something to implement bug and fly control. The patio itself was beautiful and I did enjoy the ambience, besides having flies constantly in your food. The pricing here... insane. If the food was melt in your mouth good, I could easily justify, but for 1 salad, 1 order of bread and an 1 entree and tip, the total should not have been $90. The small Mexican coke was $6... that's insane. I can appreciate that they are locally sourcing food and I would hope they are paying their employees well, and everyone so taken care of. But overall, the value of money and quality of food did not do it for me. I did notice the portions on the salad were inconsistent based off of the other tables around us. I would hope for a $22 salad, I would have liked to have a little bit more. I think there is an illusion that the salad is big based on the fact that the lettuce is not cut and they put an absorbent amount of cheese on top. (Don't get me wrong, I love cheese, but they did not give a chance for the dressing to stand on its own) The bread and butter were the only thing I will say was good. Solid 7/10. I think if they added garlic and pepper into dipping oil, it was elevate this a bit. The fact that this is served warm definitely adds to the taste. The "fresh" made gnocchi is house.. was not good. This dish was a ricotta gnocchi. For nearly $30, this was the smallest plate of pasta I have ever gotten. I continued to look around and everyone got extremely small portions of pasta. That aside.. this gnocchi was not good and too undercooked. The sauce tasted honestly like a chef boyardee sauce, with a little bit of a fish after taste, and no ricotta. It did taste like slight parm, which, even if a little bit more Parmesan was added, maybe this would've tasted a bit better. But apparently all the Parmesan was reserved only for the salads. (This dish was supposed to have a duck base, but this was not cooked properly) not only was I simply turned off by this dish, there was nobody by to help or even get it to go box. But quite honestly, I just left the food which is so sad. Left over pasta is always so good but I really could not continue eating this as I truly did not enjoy the taste. I left hungry and sadly disappointed.

Best Margherita Pizza in Orange County!…read more I have been ordering pizzas from The Parlor for a long time. Although they serve other food, I have always ordered margherita pizzas. In my humble opinion, they make the best pizza in Orange County! MARGHERITA PIZZA IS DELICIOUS. Each hand-made pizza features premium fior di latte mozzarella cheese layered on top of fresh red tomato sauce. The crust is thin and chewy, with just the right amount of char characteristic of a true Neoplitan pizza. All pizzas are cooked to perfection in a wood-fired oven; and all of my pizza orders have been flawless. Thank you very much to Jimmy and his hard-working kitchen crew. My pizzas have been absolutely delicious! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. The front counter staff is very friendly and makes every customer feel genuinely welcome. They are personable and efficient, and work really hard to deliver meals to their customers as quickly as possible, even when there is a long line of customers. Everything is clean and pristine and the menu is easy to read. Thank you very much to Megan and her amazing counter crew! TL/DR: the pizzas from The Parlor are delicious and worth the wait!

They only have a hose A/C in the corner that didn't do much to cool the place down. The food though was amazing! As 2 vegetarians and 1 vegan, we had never seen such an extensive plant based option with not only vegan cheeses but meat substitutes with protein! No wonder they have been ranked #1 for multiple years. The starter bread came in a brown bag and was soft and delicious, especially with the house pesto. You could really taste the basil but it didnt feel too oily. We got the calamari because none of us have ever seen a vegan one on a menu! It was breaded and fried and had a squishy center made of pea protein that I guess simulates the real one? It came with a marinara dipping sauce. I could obly have a few because they were fried and I felt like they were a bit too salty Next the pastas came out - the Pistachio pesto and the fusili with sausage. Both were delicious. The pesto sauce was the same one we had with the bread but the pasta had Pistachio chunks in it as well and generous amounts of pesto. The sausage was chewy and the sauce must've had either the same seasoning or chunks of it blended in because you could taste the same flavor in that as well! We had hopes of trying dessert but these 3 dishes were a perfect size for our party and we had been starving ourselves for most of the day for this (probably due to all the protein included in a usually carb only meal). The service was prompt, dishes came out quickly, and water was always filled. I am looking forward to returning to try all the other dishes!

Service was great, and the wine pairings complemented the meal really well. We started with the calamari and tuna crudo. Both were good, although the crudo could have used a little more brightness and acidity--some extra citrus or lemon would have really elevated it. For pasta, the gnocchi was great, but the Pappardelle Brasato was outstanding and easily one of the highlights of the meal. And then there was the tiramisu--absolutely outstanding. Honestly, one of the best tiramisus I've ever had. I would come back for that alone. Overall, the food was very good, with a couple of standout dishes rather than everything completely blowing us away. Beautiful ambience, attentive service, great wine, and a wonderfully quiet dining room. I'd definitely consider coming back--and the tiramisu is a must.

It's classy, the kind of place you'd see in a late-90s/early-00s romcom date scene. The staff was attentive and kind, though we asked for coffee at the end and it never came--we had a show to get to, so unfortunately had to leave without it. We started with the melanzane pizza. It was tasty, but I just realized later it was missing the nduja sausage listed on the menu. For my entrée, I had the paccheri pasta with braised short rib. The beef itself was rich, tender, and full of flavor--reminded me of an Italian birria, which I loved. But the rigatoni tasted undercooked, which was disappointing. My fiancé ordered the tagliata, and wow--she definitely picked the better dish. The steak was perfectly seasoned, cooked to a beautiful medium rare, and paired with a silky potato purée that was absolutely delicious. Overall, it's a romantic spot with some standout flavors, but the small misses kept it from being a perfect experience.

I usually avoid pasta and red meat, and at first glance the menu didn't seem to have any chicken options, but since it's Michelin-rated, I decided to give it a chance. I'm so glad I did -- because when the food is this delicious, who needs chicken? We ordered the Casonzei pasta and it was hands down the best pasta I've ever had. The pasta itself was incredibly delicate and light -- nothing like the heavy feeling you normally get from a pasta dish. The amount of filling packed into each piece was unbelievable, and somehow they managed to keep the dough perfectly intact. The flavors were absolutely incredible. I also ordered the fish of the day, a white fish similar to halibut (I wish I could remember the name), and it was perfectly prepared. Light, juicy, and paired beautifully with the sauce. Even the cabbage was amazing -- and that's coming from someone who usually has to force herself to eat vegetables. We also shared the prosciutto with stracciatella, which was another standout. Everything tasted exceptionally fresh, the prosciutto was sliced paper-thin, and the creamy stracciatella paired perfectly with the crispy toasted bread underneath. To round things out, we ordered the roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts, and somehow even the vegetables stole the show. I actually ate the leftover Brussels sprouts for breakfast the next morning. The service was every bit as impressive as the food -- polished, attentive, and exactly what you would expect from a Michelin-rated restaurant. Unfortunately, I left my phone in the car during dinner, so I didn't get any photos, but there are plenty on Yelp. I can't wait to go back and would absolutely recommend it. They get very busy on weekends since they're only open limited evening hours, so definitely make a reservation ahead of time. They offer valet parking for $12, and while there is free street parking nearby, it can be difficult to find unless you park on surrounding streets and walk a bit.

The short rib pasta was cooked perfectly and the right amount of cheesy and a little sweet. We were all so full after. Sangria and cocktails were all great as well. There is a $35 cake fee which I didn't mind because they cut and serve it for you, thought we did have to ask 3 different people for our cake and then ask again to have the leftovers boxed and given back to us. I'm so glad we came here - the quality of this small and quaint restaurant blew me away. Everything is fresh, apparently imported from Italy, recipes are authentic, and it sure feels that way. The bread OMG. The house made pasta. Everything is just wonderful and complements each other. Nothing is oily or salty, and radiates high quality ingredients. We had the bruschetta, the zucchini blossoms, the rosemary foccacia, clam pasta, seafood pasta, and branzino. Everything was amazing, and the service was, too.
