Are you kidding me?! This place is wonderful. I don't know where the negative reviewers here are coming from. Seriously.
I like that they offer a variety of washer sizes. I've used every size, and while they require quarters, they're more affordable than most, simple to use, and do a good job.
Sure, it would be easier if it was digitized for use with a money card. And yes, (to the reviewer who lost money in a broken machine) it would be helpful if broken machines were well marked. But come on people. Maybe that reviewer was the first and should've brought it to someone's attention. Without the attitude. Machines break. They all need repair eventually.
Let's talk about the quarters. Since when did we, as human beings, or rather Americans with first-world problems, find that putting quarters in a machine is too difficult? Shame!
Do you want to talk difficult? Thanks to some unfortunate spinal cord damage in my neck a few years ago, I've limited use of my hands and my fine motor skills are shot. So, yes, picking up a quarter, pinching it btwn my thumb and forefinger long enough to put it in the machine can be a pain in the ass. I don't care. I find it's good OT. In the past, I've dropped a few and had them roll under machines. The staff there are always great with help or reimbursements.
It's because of the staff that I like to come here. There's a vibe here that feels another level, where doing your laundry doesn't feel like you're in a depressing art house film.
The people here work hard, just as hard as many of the customers. And I can't imagine they make a lot of money. But I find them to be kind and helpful and above it all, professionals. They don't sit on their phones, or invite their friends to hang out and talk crap loudly and incessantly. They do their job. And well.
At times, I've had to drop off my laundry. (I love how they text me when it's done.) Other times, I've arranged for them to pick up my laundry at my apartment and deliver it afterward. Every interaction I have with them is pleasant.
I've been to other laundromats in the city. Delken, mint, laundry palace... cost, convenience... There are pluses and minuses with all of them. (FREE dryers are built into the cost of a wash, BTW.)
If you're looking for a great neighborhood Laundrymat or service that's immaculate, affordable, friendly, efficient, and comfortable, I recommend Laundry World, hands down. I mean, where else can you go where the staff will try to remember your name if they've helped you before? The hardware store? Nordstrom's?
Oh, and if you drop off your clothes here you'll be happy to find they know how to fold clothes correctly and consistently. (Less common than you can believe.)
Obviously, that one negative reviewer set me off. Negative reviews are easy. I've grown tired of all the pettiness. I imagine it was tough for small businesses everywhere to stay afloat during Covid. Practicing a little gratitude doesn't hurt. The staff at Laundry World have always made me feel like they appreciate my business. And I appreciate them. read more
