This is more of a 3.5 star review; if they had wifi this would possibly be a 5. Currently, due to Covid-19, this laundromat is still open however, know before you go: - you must be wearing a mouth/nose covering of some kind (bandana, surgical mask, etc) or you can't do your laundry - once you put your wash in, you have to leave and wait outside. - once the clothes go in the dryer, same drill. Sit outside and wait. - after removing laundry from the dryer, you cannot fold inside. You basically have to throw it all in a bag and get the F out. I haven't been in since these new rules were put in place, but I'm planning to go tomorrow morning since laundry is beyond due. When I stopped in before these rules, they were allowing X amount of people in at a time and you could still fold your laundry after it was dried. I have a feeling their rules may be more strict than necessary, mainly the folding issue. I mean, yeah - I'll throw my things in a bag and get the F out but jeeze, folding only took 10 or so minutes to begin with. And if people are keeping a distance and wearing protective gear, folding inside shouldn't be a problem. People were likely ignoring the rules and the laundromat has reacted. As they say, F around and find out. The card used to do laundry, the refilling of the card - it's really not as complicated as others have made it seem. Insert card, insert cash, card is refilled. Overall, a pretty good laundromat that needs wifi. They have specials on certain days. Convenient for me as they're a block away and I don't drive. read more

Older woman at desk--not helpful or friendly. Machines worked well, liked the card system. Dryers took a bit longer than usual but overall...did a good job. read more

I am a frequent drop off customer of theirs with large orders over $100 majority of the time I have been doing this since last year in the summertime since I work near this location and it is convenient. Constantly I have been spoken to rudely by the elderly woman who works day shift small comment about my clothes having a smell ( I have small children which I expressed and at times they bed wet given my busy travel schedule for work I don't get to it in time. Hence me doing drop off and never my own laundry) and calls at times when I'm over a week to pickup again I travel for work so at times I'm not around. Today was the last straw for me upon picking up a small order of mine the woman told me I need to stop bringing smelly clothes she'll let it "slide this time" and with such a rude demeanor. No helllo or good bye ever from them by the way. I originally was going to leave my order and pickup mine. After that I went right back in and grabbed my clothes right back and asked for manager she stated she was (unfortunate) then I asked for the owner she said he's not around when I asked when she scoffed there's no time. Super rude will be taking my business elsewhere. Clothes are always never smelling of softener even though I pay extra they skimp on that for sure but I always went to them since they are convenient like I said next to work , will try and see if I can catch owner in store one day to chat have spent over thousands or dollars to be embarrassed in front of others about my belongings that I pay for them to clean that's the job , its not what you say its how you say it !! read more

Went here once when my washer died in the middle of a cycle. Was pleased with the cleanliness of the place and the helpful courteous service. Plan to come back. Have a king-sized quilt to be washed and it's too heavy for me to handle. Prefer to use their facilities. read more

They have Big washer and Dryers. The facility is clean but has a wet oder to it. I like going here because its close to my house and it usually doesn't take long to get the laundry done. Staff can be slightly unpleasant, which is the only reason I give it four stars. read more

I went there a few weeks ago and the worker named Lisa refused to help me and would not show me the bathroom. The washing machine is tried to use had dirty panties. I am not impressed read more

Good equipment. unfortunately they use a card system that does not always add the money you spend on it to the card. You may get ripped off at some point. Employees/manager offered no recompense. read more

I have been going to Providence Super Wash center for almost ten years . I live on the other side of the city but I still drive to PSWC because they do good work and they have reasonable prices . But I am not going to use PSWC anymore . Three days ago I went to pick up my laundry . When I went to pay it seems I misread the faded writing on my ticket as $21 when the actual total was $28 . PSWC only accepts cash so I stopped at my banks atm on the way and withdrew $20 . I had a few ones on me to make up what for I thought was the difference. So I go to pay for my clothes and am told the price is higher than I thought . Ok I have some ones on me and I count them out , six . So I have $26 and I owe $28 . She wouldn't let me slide . She made me use the atm in the Laundrymat . The fee for that atm is $3.50 . So it cost me 3.50 to make up the $2 difference . She should have let me slide . I have been going there for ten years . They have known me by name for years and I always tip generously . My bill is usually between $20-$30 .. I never leave less than $5 . But when they had the chance to show me a little gratitude for ten years of loyal patronage and generous tips by letting me slide for $2 , they chose to make me pay $3.50 to take money out of their atm machine . It was an insult . This will cost them my reliable and regular patronage . read more

Our dryer broke and I had to bring 8 loads of wet laundry somewhere to dry. Very happy we tried this place! Super clean, nice little old lady working and very helpful. No shady people hanging out (my experience with other laundry mats). We were in an out super quick and very happy! read more

We didn't get the washing and driving machined yet, so needed to use one of the local places. Providence super wash is the closest one and decided to do my laundry here. Big machines, all working, fair pricing and laundry that comes out very clean and smell great. I hope to get the equipment we bought soon, but if I will need to, I will come here again. read more

Their dryers get too hot. If people think their stuff smells it could be that their clothes are burned and they just can't see it because the clothes are colored. The manager was unhelpful and suggested bleach to fix the burn marks on a white comforter. Pretty sure bleach is for a true stain and would be ineffective on burn marks... read more

First of all, what business is cash only nowadays? Second of all, if you're going to be a cash only business, have an atm on the premises. Or at least a sign on the door so I don't waste my time. I dropped off a small load of clothes for wash and fold, and when I took them home they were totally wrinkled, like they had sat in the dryer for awhile before being put in hangers. Disappointing. read more

As laundromats go, this one is pretty decent. Decent prices and clean, lots of large machines to choose from which helped get me in and out quickly. The card you put money on is a little confusing. You have to put exactly two dollars in the machine to buy the card, no larger bills, then once you have it, you can put larger bills to load up the card. Girl at the desk needs to check her attitude though. I was confused about the card at first and why it wasn't letting me use a 20 to buy one and when I asked her about it, she was quite curt with me. Also seems to be cash only, so be ready for that. read more

I always do my laundry here, even though there are plenty of laundromats that are closer to my house. It's VERY clean and bright, and there's three TV's with different programs to keep you occupied. They don't have wifi, but I'm usually able to steal it from the neighbors. I LOVE the jumbo machines...I can pretty much do a month's worth of laundry for two people in one load for $8.50 to wash and $3 to dry. They've got some good deals too. If you put $20 on your card, they give you $2 bonus bucks. Weekly specials: Tuesday $0.85 per lb for laundry drop off, Wednseday $1.00 off drying, Thursday free cup of soap. read more

Best reasons to use this Laundromat: 1. Uses a cash card system, no need to go to the bank for quarters! 2. Entertainment! 3 TVs with different programming so you have a choice of what to watch. 3. Machines that get your clothes clean at a reasonable price. 4. Variety of sizes of washers, so you can choose to either stuff a huge washer for a cost or be good and, ya know, separate your colors from your whites. 5. No time to do laundry yourself? Drop it off! Sometimes its worth it to have someone else do your laundry for your. And they fold it so nicely! read more

No complaints about the laundromat. They've always been great, with friendly and super helpful attendants. No, this review is for the jerkhole who visited the laundromat on the morning of April 1st, and decided not only to loudly drop his baskets of dirty laundry on the floor, raising dust and spreading germs in the middle of a pandemic, but also decided to crowd up right next to my 82 year old mother, despite the fact that the laundromat was totally empty and he could have used ANY OTHER machine, AND then decided it would be totally okay to rudely berate her when she asked him to back up and stop violating CDC barriers. I swear to God, if I ever find out who you are... read more

They get 3 stars for being a little cheaper than the typical laundromat. However make sure you remember that cash. Sorry we live in 2013, to be a cash only operation of a business this size just reeks of seedy business dealings. I will go to them again for general issues however they have to offer at the very least a Visa/Mastercard acceptance. read more

Cleaning guy made me feel very unwanted and did not want to be here. Kept bothering me about leaving at only 11 and before when they are open till 12. Also shut off all the fans and ac and tv on a EXTREMLEY HOT DAY. I'm here dripping in sweat and he's sitting on his lazy as watching the only tv read more

Providence Super Wash Center - The sign - Laundromat Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

See all

It's been a long time since I've needed to go to a laundromat, but I had to wash my oversized comforter and my Whirlpool at home is just not big enough. I tried to go to the two laundromats I knew of close to my house, but both were jam-packed. A friend suggestion Super Wash on North Main Street so I headed up there. I easily found parking, the place was only half full and they had a giant industrial sized washer for $8.50. Between the washing and drying I was still in and out in under an hour with no problems. I don't know what amenities folks look for in a laundromat, but to me being able to get your clothes washed easily is pretty much it. read more

My boyfriend and I have been going here for over a year. Staff was never exceptionally friendly, but they really blew it this time. Firstly, the place is advertised to close at 12. I get there at 1030 and start doing several loads of laundry. There were two people working who saw me do about 12 loads of laundry (one told me I should do my laundry every day instead; like he knows my situation), and by the time they were done at 11:50, my boyfriend and I come back to a closed place. My boyfriend went to go talk to them today and the woman denied they closed early, even though we have a video from 11:55 after we knocked on every door. She started yelling at him, and when he yelled back that what they're doing wasn't right, she told him she'd call the police and refused to let him pick up our clothes. Now we're on our way back there with a police escort. All because of some unprofessional and frankly insane customer service. Needless to say I'm finding another place to wash my clothes today. read more

I wish they wouldn't wash the floor and spray all kinds of chemicals while I'm doing my laundry. I feel like I'm going to fall because the floor is wet and I just got sprayed with some cleaning product that one of the workers was spraying the dryers with while I was putting my clothes in the dryer. read more

Clean, lots of machines, love the card system. Not sure what else you could want from a laundry. Machines are very efficient, so you use less money. read more

I went on a monday night at 9:30pm. It was busy but not packed. They have a range of different industrial washers: $3.50 double load x 9 $4.50 triple load x 12 $6.00 huge x 5 $9.00 mega x1 There are 20 dryers that are $0.25 for 8 minutes drying time. You pay a $2 deposit on a money card, then load it up, for every $20 you get a $2 bonus. I spent $22 bucks and got $22 worth of credit. Enough to wash and dry 4 large laundry baskets and $5 to spare. Cash only. All machines seemed to be in good working order and they did a good job, the staff kept the place clean and tidy by mopping, vacuuming and sweeping. They will give you wire hangers for $0.10 a piece. Clean, easy to use and open late, I'll be back. (And I kind of have to because now i have a $5 credit on the card...) read more

Great for washing clothes they take care of all sizes of loads it is CASH ONLY u have to buy cash cards bigger disappointment tho is that THEY DON'T DRY CLEAN! But other then that they are great read more

I tried this place yesterday after having a bad experience with Soapbox on Hope St. It is eons better than Soapbox! I was so pleased. I needed to wash a bunch of rugs that couldn't fit in my tiny washer and was able to fit all of them (3 small, 1 medium, one large) all in their commercial machine for $6 and it only took 26 minutes. I then dried them in their giant dryers for $0.75 (24 minutes at 25 cents per 8 minutes). You do have to pay with cash, but their card system is great- no annoying quarters to deal with. It's nothing fancy but it's clean and there are tons of machines. They also seem to have good deals, a drop off service, and dry cleaning. I'll be back! read more
