I came into this place with high expectations due to the positive yelp reviews and chill environment. I was excited to try this place bc I've been focusing on consuming a more plant based diet. I ordered the Thai bowl, sat down, waited for the food, browsed the menu further and decided to also order the coconut corn chowder. Big mistake. I should've tried the bowl I ordered before ordering more food bc I cannot tell you how much of a disappointment the food was. My soup was like someone had opened up a can of green curry and thickened it by blending in some corn fibers. I didn't find a single whole corn kernal. You cannot call this corn chowder. The flavors of the Thai bowl couldn't have tasted further from Thai cusine flavors- not even remotely Thai. Tried this place for the first time tonight. I was impressed with the atmosphere, so cute, clever & comfortable. Good for kids with all the comic/action figures & $3 quesadilla or Mini burrito. We had the mole burrito. Flavor was great & you can tell it is quality food. However, I could not taste any mole on my burrito (maybe they forgot to add it??). Also, if you add sour cream (which most places don't charge extra for) and guacamole it totals a $9 burrito. Not worth the price. The soda was completely flat but the lemonade was great. Finally, my biggest pet peeve is that it is served on this terrible wicker plate with the thinnest piece of paper. You absolutely can't eat it with a knife and fork without the plate spinning and the paper tearing. What a mess. Just pick it up and eat it taco bell style. :-) I will go back to try a bowl which sounds good and may be more their specialty. read more

If you're vegan, vegetarian, or try to eat healthfully, and like tap beer, this place is for you. I'm three out of four of those, so I was thrilled to find it (at the suggestion of the front desk receptionist at the Holiday Inn Express). My kiddos split chips and salsa, along with a kid's quesadilla. They ate it all gone, which has never happened with quesadillas. I got one of Planet's many, elaborately-named bowls, which included grains (some red quinoa in there), grilled veggies, sweet potatoes, greens, chickpeas, and some sauce. It was my dream meal, for only $6.50. Other items of note: Dinosaurs on the tables for the kids (or kids-at-heart). Bragg's Aminos and various hot sauces available for self-serve. I've been here a few times, but I went again today with a friend of mine. I got the Fu Manchu salad and a lemonade. The salad had mixed greens, bok choy, nappa cabbage, carrots, celery, bamboo shoots, sliced almonds, and green onions with a sweet and sour sesame dressing. The salad was really good! I would definitely get this again if I went. It was really filling and delicious, and I like that they also offer a half size salad incase you aren't as hungry. The lemonade was also really great, not too sweet. The decor is really nice, this lace is pretty new, so everything still looks nice and fresh. There is outdoor seating, and then also and upstairs seating area that overlooks the river. Overall this place is really great, i feel like I could get a lot of the menu items other places though, or just make them myself easily. I came for the dinosaurs, stayed for the food. This is a great multipurpose meeting place. It's just as good for lunch as it is for coffee. They have an unexpectedly wide selection of beers. Yum!!! I stopped with my family in Corvallis on our way back from Albany. I found it here on Yelp and loved the look of the menu. It has a similar vibe to Venti's in Salem, but way more green. The menu is awesome, very diverse. The smoothies are delicious as well! The staff were super friendly and patient with our questions about menu items and possible substitutions. My Son was allowed to even have a sample of the Mole sauce before ordering it on his burrito. I'm sad they don't exist closer to my hometown! I'd go here all of the freaking time. read more

My biggest complaint has always been the water. While it is self serve which I like, it's luke warm tap water. Laughing Planet has quickly become my go-to for casual lunch meetings. The menu is fantastic and has something for everyone, all made with super fresh and well-sourced ingredients. The salads are original - my favorite is the East Meets West made with broccoli, napa cabbage and hazelnuts. I also love the Paleo Bowl and I'm just now figuring out how to customize with "add ins" from the menu. Friends and colleagues say that the burritos and quesadillas are great and the vegan split pea soup is also delicious. Finally, I can't write a review without mentioning the amazing smoothies. I could live on the Marionberry Ginger. YUM!! Oh and one last thing - they have a decent beer selection so if you'd like a pint with your meal, go for it! Love this place! I had a Bollywood Bowl and it was amazing. AND there was so much in the bowl that I had leftovers. Really great flavors and it's so nice to know that the ingredients are fresh and healthy. There is something here for everyone -- whether you like spicy or basic flavors. We were here on a Sunday early afternoon. Almost every table was taken. The place was very clean and service was great. By the time we left, the line coming in was solid all the way out the door. Not at all soggy and for a reasonable size. Their decor is pretty great. Dinosaurs and old movie posters make it pretty obvious that they're going for the 'quirky' image.
