Good price for a viet sandwich in today's economy, but it lacked flavor. Might have been that they didn't give enough pate. Decent sandwich near dt

I've been going to Latte Express for 10 years now. One of the best Banh Mi's you can get in the area. Their breakfast is solid too. I do wish it was a bit more inexpensive for a Banh Mi. Also, their bread is good, but sometimes it has tasted a bit stale. Otherwise their food is very tasty, and it feels nice to support their mom and pop shop.

My go to lunch spot!!! Order the #7 and a Vietnamese ice coffee Service is fast and the sandwiches are decently priced.

Overall good sandwich. Great customer service lines out the door. The food looks amazing over all the café is very neat and clean. I highly suggest you support local businesses.

I came here to get a banh mi for my plane ride! I got the #9: grilled pork and Vietnamese coffee. The coffee was good and I was impressed by how stuffed the sandwich. I got another sandwich for my friend. 2 sandwiches and 1 iced coffee: $29.77 - that's honestly insane to me. They do charge 4% credit card fee but $30 is a lot.

Tiny unassuming little spot on 5th Street. Their donuts are very good. The ube donuts aren't just the trendy purple folks have made popular but actually carry the distinct subtle coconut flavor. Cool spot!

Limited donuts. I went in at 640am and there were like 18 donuts or so out and that's all they had. They are ok soft but don't have a buttery texture taste when you bite into it like certain donut shops. . 14$ for 6 donuts. I also bought a HEC (ham egg cheese) croissant and SEC (sausage egg cheese) croissant. They definitely tasted old not buttery flakey fluffy soft, eggs were rubbery and the ham lifeless and no flavor of ham. Cheese weren't melting it was also not very hot. Both sandwiches were slightly rubbery. Husband took my order and wife made the sandwiches. Wish a Happy Donuts was close by or All Star

I found a strand of black hair in my banh mi!!!! Disgusting!!!!

Latte express is absolutely the worst. Cant believe its got 4 stars on Yelp and Google. 1. The BBQ chicken Banh Mi has RED DYE (aka chemicals) on the chicken. It was definitely NOT BBQ. 2. The strawberry smoothie tasted like cotton candy mixed with chemicals. I poured it down the drain and did not see any fresh strawberries. 3. The FINAL STRAW- As I was picking through the sandwich and mostly eating the bread because the meat was so bad, I found a strand of black HAIR!!!!! I feel so disgusted! Horrible low quality food and drinks. Stay far, far away!

Friendly & fast services. Many breakfast, donut & Vietnamese sandwiches with many drinks & coffee options. Seasonable prices. This place is clean and quite. I'm coming back for their fresh orange juice!

    Mold on croissant

I pass by this place all the time and I finally decided to check it out for the first time, I ordered a ham, egg and cheese croissant sandwich to go. I took one bite in the car as I drove off and had to turn around, I smelt something off and I looked at the sandwich and there was mold on the bottom of croissant. I had to spit it out it was disgusting. I asked to be refunded, the total plus the tip I gave them. Lady insisted on remaking it but isn't want anything else from there. I won't be going back. It was disappointing. And the croissant wasn't toasted, it was cold. I would not recommend this place

Bahn mi near my office I recommend this spot for the reasons here: 1 - fresh crunchy rolls 2- quick service 3- quality ingredients 4- nice owner-operators 5- close to my office at financial/Chinatown/North Beach Oh and the bahn mis are pretty stuffed. See my photo ! JYW recommends !

Such a nice and easy place for a quick lunch in downtown. This is between Chinatown and financial district. The staff are super friendly and kind. The sandwiches are always so fresh and toasty. My go to is the combo I think #7! I usually come here pretty often and walk from downtown to grab a banh Mi!

Is it really 2.50 for a donut these days? Dang. It was good but inflation is crazy. I'll come back if I'm ever craving a donut again.

Some sandwiches come with lots of meats and some are saucy and some get cheesy like some in SF. There are some famous and historical places to grab sandwiches in North Beach like Molinari and Freddie's. There is also a place on Columbus Avenue by Joe DiMaggio playground park on which has a French name and serves up some of San Francisco finest sandwiches and it's called" Le Sandwich ". On a Winter season stroll in the beginning of 2026 , I landed at Le Sandwich. This place has lots of sandwiches available made by Chef Elias. I decided to try their Primo ( means Prime in Italian) sandwich. I have to say this is one of the tastiest sandwiches I had in San Francisco. It had meats which were tender such as Genoa Salami, coppa, and ham. It's has melting provolone which made it cheesy like some in SF. They also have FikaLove which is baked goods available like chocolate croissants and cinnamon buns for Fika( Swedish for Coffee break). San Francisco is the place where you can get international foods without the" jet lag" by a park close by were as a kid I use play "tag"and the sandwiches are so big they stick out the " paper bag "and inside has of lots decor from international countries including the "USA flag". Hearing about this place having three restaurants across San Francisco made it sound like a chainstore pizza joint like Pizza Butt( I mean Pizza Hut). I have tried this place before and it's local to San Francisco and I wanted to give it a whirl in person. On a Spring stroll down Lombard and Van Ness where the hotel and motel signs are over mile deep I wanted to try an American favorite which are pizza pies. Pizza pies have become more American than apple pies these days . I went inside Chico's and tried their pepperoni and sausage before Good Friday approaches. The pizza slice was kind of cheesy like some in SF and it had pepperoni and sausage but not too saucy . The dough was pretty doughy but flakey like some in SF. It reminded me of some old school style of San Francisco pizza which is good paired with a case of beer. We ordered the crab chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl. The bread was stale, dry, and hard, making it difficult to enjoy. On top of that, the chowder itself wasn't even hot, it was barely warm. For a chowder restaurant, this was really surprising and disappointing. We let our waitress know about our concerns, and her response was simply that she would let the chef know. There wasn't much acknowledgment beyond that, which made the experience even more underwhelming. Overall, we left disappointed and wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience.
