They advertise 250.00 what is the actual range for both eyes?

It depends on your vision. Several places advertise this price. $250 per eye is definitely possible as long as you have a very minimal problematic vision. I have noticed that is seems to be around $3,500 total to have both done. There are great…

The reviews here seem to be very accurate. I've been to this location a few times and the front…read moredesk staff is either a hit or a miss. The first visit they treat you with kindness. However, the customer service gets worse each visit. My recent visit was horrible all over a copay. I mentioned that I'd met my out of pocket and deductible and didn't have a copay. I'd spoken to the insurance company the day prior to clarify what I'd owe. Always call your insurance company before appts to check what exactly is owed and covered to prevent surprises. Remember your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company, not the patient and the care provider. After telling the front desk staff I didn't owe anything for this visit, they looked at each other and said no, you have to pay. I told them I didn't have anything to pay and tried to show them my insurance dashboard showing that I didn't owe anything for the remainder of my plan year. That wasn't good enough, they wanted me to pay my copay. It was very embarrassing although I was very polite and never raised my voice or anything but declined to pay something that I knew I didn't owe. The reason being...medical offices overcharge and then the patient waits until the end of the fiscal year to receive a refund check. They finally asked me to have a seat and they'd contact their billing dept on another floor to verify what I needed to pay, so I waited in the lobby. They laughed at me as though I was being dishonest with the smirks and rude gestures stating they have nothing to do with billing! My appt time went by and I was still sitting in the main lobby (they held me up thinking I owed $50). They finally said go on back and they'd continue checking with billing to see what I actually owe. Now to the care I received, I had to remind the first technician who initially checks vision that I have a latex allergy. She was like oh yeah that's right then switched her gloves to cheap vinyl gloves (in the past, I've had to remind the care team to use gloves because I have no clue where their hands have been all while touching my face & eyes. I also question the eye drops they use to dilate eyes since the tip touched my eyelashes and they very well could've touched someone else's eyes, so I'll contact the health dept to see how this needs to be addressed). After this stop, off to the back lobby. Next the room to check peripheral vision and then back to the back lobby then to another room to see the doctor who was in and out like a flash of lightning but Id like to think very thorough since he seems quite professional. I finally went to the checkout desk and asked if the front desk figured out what I owe so I can pay it and she said yes, you don't owe anything. I just said thanks but I knew I didn't and was treated poorly over them thinking I owed a mere $50 copay. Needless to say, I won't return. There's so many places to see a retina specialist that accepts our insurance that surely will be happy for our business with a smile on their face!

The staff at the front and the Doctor were both very friendly and professional. I had a few tests done for prevention and they were all good and I did not need glasses so that was nice. There were a lot of other people there so their shared practice is big; they also have glasses for sale if you need them. The parking was a bit tricky because I didn't expect that many people to be there however, I was still able to get in and out pretty quickly. I was given a coupon for the only recommended item I needed so that was nice. Then towards checkout the employee really had mercy on me as I couldn't find my credit card and wanted to use multiple to pay the copay... so I will forever be thankful for that. Thank you!

When I called to make the appointment I made it clear we were not coming for a regular exam but a test the DMV was insisting on. The receptionist seemed clear on this and asked which office we would like to visit. We finally settled on the Governor's Lane location due to first availability. The day we arrived for the test I handed the paperwork we would need filled out to the girl who took us to the back. She greeted us with "Hi! So you're here for your yearly eye exam?" I told her no, that was not what we were there for and pointed to the paperwork I had just handed her. The front page of said paperwork had a highlighted, dark text sentence that stated exactly the test that was needed. The girl smiled and said "oh yeah this is all part of that" and took my son back to go through the usual tests before seeing the optometrist. She then took us into a room to wait for Dr. Bertram who was to do the rest of the testing. As soon as as Dr. Bertram walked into the room he looked at my son who is a double below knee amputee who has prosthetic legs and blurted out "Hey! What happened to your feet?" My son and I were both stunned and horrified by the blatent rudeness of this question and did not reply at first. My son then stammered out a brief answer and I told the doctor that was a sensitive subject and my son did not like to talk about it. He then carried on by asking my son how long ago he lost his feet. I then cut him off very angrily and again stated my son did not like talking about that and to drop it. Dr. Bertram then did a regular eye exam with my son and when he went to fill out the paperwork we had given them he stopped and pointed to the highlighted front page and stated they don't give the test the DMV wanted at that location. By this time I was angry, my son was upset and embarrassed and I was out of patience. I told him that was the whole reason we made the visit and I had told them that on the phone. We were then forced to make a second appointment at a different location that does give that specific test which meant a second trip to Lexington. The day we were to go to the Meijer Way location I looked over the paperwork Dr. Bertram had filled out for the regular part of the eye exam and realized he did not sign and date it on the line provided on the form. So we had to drive to the Meijer Way location for the other test (where the girl conducting the test printed out the results with my son's sex listed as female- luckily I caught this mistake and had her change it) and then had to drive back to the Governor's Lane location to get Dr. Bertram's signature. I asked that he date his signature the same day as the test to avoid any further issues with the DMV . When I left with the paperwork I got outside and realized he had signed it with that days' date so there were now two different dates on the paperwork. I went back inside to point this out and express how extremely upset and angry I was about the entire process with them. I was pretty much blown off with stating the doctor was with another patient so it would be awhile and then a staff member looked at the paperwork and tried to tell me she thought it would be fine. I finally just left in disgust. I have been a patient at Simpson Optical my entire adult life and beyond but will never step foot through the door again after the way my son was treated there. We were sent the usual text about rating your experience and I gave them a zero and stated what I was upset about and got no response to that so they clearly aren't interested in customer service anymore.
