Our office offers comprehensive contact lens fitting, offering a diverse array of contact lens models and materials. We are highly trained for successful fitting of challenging "hard to fit" lenses, including multifocal "bifocal" lenses and contact lenses for high astigmatism. Our optical dispensary offers a diverse array of high quality frame styles for the entire family.
Meet the Business Owner: James W.
James W Matthews, M.D., completed his undergraduate training at the University of Kentucky. Subsequently he attended medical school and graduated from Marshall University Medical School. He completed his ophthalmology residency and served as chief resident at St. Francis Medical Center, with associated training at the University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He returned to Kentucky, establishing his practice in Lexington.
Dr. Matthews is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Matthews voluntarily repeated rigorous training and retesting for elective recertification. Dr. Matthews has previously served on the Board of the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and was trusted and elected successively by his peers, the members of the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, to serve as Secretary-Treasurer, Vice President, and ultimately President.
