I just had my procedure yesterday evening at the Alexandria location and so far I am pleased with the results! (I apologize for the long review ahead, but I wanted to be thorough for anyone considering Lasik!) It was so nice to wake up this morning and not have to scramble to get my glasses before starting my day! Let me rewind to the beginning. I started looking into Lasik a little over a month ago and booked my free consult at the Tyson's location. This visit was super informative on any questions you might have about Lasik. They do multiple different tests on your eyes and go over your medical/health history to determine whether you are a good candidate for Lasik. They also discuss pricing and financing options (note: they offer to run a credit check for financing, which is a credit card application for CareCredit--this gives you financing options such as 12 months no interest, or other monthly payments but with interest over time). They also offer a discount if you book sooner within the next few days after your consult, so if you go into the consult knowing you are ready to book, make sure you have stopped wearing your contacts for at least three days (or longer if you're paranoid like me-- do your research!). You get a lot of details on the day of the procedure, post op instructions, what to expect, etc. Fast forward to the day of my procedure--- I came in for a 4pm appointment and was out of the office in about an hour. You begin with registration, signing consent forms, and of course payment. They also review post op instructions, and repeat an eye test. The procedure itself lasts less than ten minutes. Dr. Wills is very nice and reassuring, and answers all your questions before getting started. He also narrates the procedure, explaining what they're doing and what you'll be seeing/feeling at each step, which was very calming because all I mostly saw were the green and red lights they were telling me to focus on. They use numbing eye drops, and I didn't feel a thing. I sort of felt the "pressure" they referred to, but this was not painful at all either (I think it was suction). After the procedure, I was sent home with sunglasses and instructed to take the medication and take a nap. I took my sleeping medication on the ride home and tried to doze off because there was a lot of traffic and I had read a bunch of reviews that mentioned the burning sensation that everyone starts to feel about twenty minutes after the numbing eye drops start to wear off. I kept my eyes closed the whole ride home and then went home straight to bed. Although I wasn't able to fall asleep right away, I never felt the burning sensation to the extent everyone else mentioned. I briefly felt what your eyes feel when chopping onions, at most. After that, I fell asleep for about six hours and felt completely fine. I also noticed I had missed a call and gotten a voicemail from Dr. Wills, who called a few hours after the surgery to check in, which I thought was very nice. Anyway, now I've begun with the eye drops regimen and my follow-up went well-- I am seeing 20/20! My next follow-up will be in a month, so I will share updates on my vision at that time. I can see clearly now the rain is falling! I can see all the obstacles in my way. I had wave/light laser with Dr. Willis. Went back for my follow up the next day and my vision is 20/15. So basically I'm like another member of the Avengers. Surgery was pretty easy. I got something to relax before hand because I'm fidgety but in hindsight I probably didn't need it. My only disappointment was that I went in thinking I could pay $250. Not sure who's surgery is that cheap. Apparently my right eye is worse so that costs more. Total procedure was $3300 that was with my insurance discounted. All in all everyone at the clinic was very professional and courteous. read more

Be ready to wait...if you come during the months of Dec and Jan. Outside of that the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Wells is awesome a tire professional that loves his job. Very thorough and understand. Don't believe the hype for the $250.00 Lasik. My cost for the surgery was not a shock because I had friends that had come here and recommended this center. I "see" it as an investment especially if you factor in the cost of yearly eye exams, contacts, glasses, etc. With the freedom to not need them anymore. Overall I had a good experience here. I've had the most amazing experience at LasikPlus Vision Center in Alexandria for PRK surgery. My initial appointment for consultation was in January. Everyone on the staff was extremely knowledge, helpful, and very friendly. I had lots of questions about the difference between Lasik and PRK. IAll my questions were answered and everyone had a smile on their face doing so. I was well prepared for my appointment on March 2nd. I had plenty of reading materials and they sent me a video to watch with post op instructions. When I arrived on surgery day I left like everyone in the office was just as excited about my upcoming experience as I was. The process was super smooth and super easy. Everyone was still extremely friendly including Dr. Wills. He answered all of my questions (again lol) and talked me through every step of the procedure. This cured all of my anxiety and made me relax. His bedside manner was excellent, even down to the small details like helping me up off the table and carrying my bags. The procedure was quick and easy. My appointment was at 10am and I was done within an hour. The actual procedure it self was only seconds. It wasn't painful at all nor did I feel the pressure most people talk about. Today I went back for my follow up and everyone was still super friendly. My vision is 20/25 and improving. For someone who's vision was -7 and has worn contacts and glasses all my life...this is quite amazing. ****4.5 year Update**** I noticed spring of 2015 that I was squinting to see a presentation and I haven't squinted in years. Went to a normal eye doctor and my results were I that I was not seeing 20/20 anymore. I've also had problems with driving at night which made driving on low light roads hard. I would need my high beams on local back roads because I couldn't see. Since I had a lifetime guarantee from LASIKPlus I talked with them and they had my results verified and approved me for a follow up surgery. However this time it would not be LASIK but PRK which is a different beast all together. I ended up getting PRK on one eye December 2015 and will need to wait a few months later to get my other eye done. I just got my lasik treatment at this location by Dr. Neil Wills. He is such a caring and understanding Doctor. He gives you time to ask as many questions that you may have, and he explains the process in detail. Only 3 days has passed and my vision has changed dramatically, and I see the world SO MUCH better without glasses. The only thing that had upset me at this location was the fact that I had gone to this place for my consultation, but I didn't receive eye exam. So when I scheduled the treatment, they had me do a same day treatment. So I didn't get to see the dr before my operation and talk to him. Although that this happened, still I got a great result. In addition, the staff who had done my eye exam was rushing everything, and I think that a person whom getting lasik should not be rushed, and that is the only reason why I took one star off. read more

CONCLUSION: I went from - 6.5 in each eye with astigmatism to 20/15 (better than 20/20). I'm an avid researcher for even the smallest things so for my eyes, I made sure to do absolute thorough research. After reading 100+ reviews on Yelp, I chose to go with LasikPlus Vision Center in Alexandria. BEFORE SURGERY: The surgery was done back in April 2017, so I actually can't remember much of the check-up process before the surgery. I do remember that everyone at the office was friendly, and understood that it can be a nerve-racking process. They checked my eyes to make sure I was a good candidate for the surgery, then scheduled a day for the actual operation. I had the Lasik procedure done. You purchase eye drops and artificial tears at the office, and receive prescription for Ambien (for the day of surgery, post-surgery to help you sleep through a few hours). SURGERY: The surgery itself was 5 minutes. My mom came with me so that she could drive me back home. Numbing drops are used before surgery, and Dr. Wills described exactly what I would see and feel throughout the procedure itself so that I could expect it seconds before it happened. There's a quick check to see if all went well in the surgery room, then you're out. Then it gets painful. AFTER SURGERY: After coming out of the surgery room, you have to go straight home. I read about someone who thought she could stop at the drugstore real quick before heading home and was in so much pain. The 20 or so minute ride home was excruciating. I imagine this is what it's like if someone pepper-sprayed you in the eyes, or if someone held onions an inch away from your eyeballs. Tears were running down my face non-stop. I wanted to talk to keep distracted, but that was not happening, either. IF YOU ARE GETTING THE SURGERY, make sure that you have a dark room to go back home to on the day of surgery. Even the smallest sliver of light was bothersome. My mom covered my window with a giant rug to ensure that it would be absolutely pitch dark. I took Ambien and fell asleep. I could see pretty well when I woke up. CHECK-UP: The check-up at the center went well afterwards. All was well. Sometimes, you feel something like a grain of sand in your eye (not terribly bothersome) - one day on this side, another day on another side, etc. It goes away, but if it really bothers you, you should probably go in for another check-up. My final check-up wasn't at the center in Alexandra. I live in NYC, so after all of this I came back to NYC and got my final check-up at the new LasikPlus Center in Brooklyn. There, they let me know that my vision is now 20/15 (better than 20/20) Everything is crystal clear and I have had zero side effects (glares, etc); I've driven long distance day and night since surgery. I've had glasses since I was in 2nd grade, so waking up to a clear room feels like a miracle to me. I also work in design, where I have to constantly work with visual details and this really has been the best decision of my life. read more

I just finished having Lasik with Dr. Wills in both eyes, and I cannot say enough good things about my experience from start to finish with this office. From the moment I walked in, everyone was friendly and supportive, answering all my questions and even giving me information I hadn't thought of (such as when I'm allowed to have my eyelash extensions reattached). They were helpful with options to finance, and generally just very soothing and pleasant to be around, which I felt to be especially important when someone is talking about putting lasers into my eyes. LaCole was a wonderful introduction to the whole process and made me feel informed and at ease. Her customer service is on point. Then I met with Dr. Dharia who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable as a customer since I'd had to come in on a different day to have my pupils dilated. They were both exceptional. The whole procedure with Dr. Wills was seamless. He spoke to me the whole time and let me know what to expect. He knows how to keep people calm and cared for. Everything was quick, and I was on my way home! Today (the day after surgery), I can see with 20/15 vision with barely any discomfort! And the whole process was incredible. I don't regret a moment of it...and I can SEE!!! I'm not saying Dr. Wills is Jesus and I'm the blind man at the well, but like...this is pretty amazing! I waited 6 weeks after my procedure to write this review and am giving one star for three reasons... 1. Their advertisement of $250 per eye is totally false. I had a mild prescription, about -1.5 and a slight astigmatism. They offered me two choices ~$3500 or ~$2500 for both eyes. The higher amount includes lifetime repairs if your eyes change. I asked why so much different than $250 per eye and she said this is what everyone pays. Needless to say, not a good first impression in terms of building trust. 2. I had relatively slight trouble seeing things far away before the surgery. I elected to have the procedure because this is an issue with some of my hobbies and i figured that with the relatively low risk, I'd go for it. After the procedure, I can see far away great, but have seen a significant reduction in my ability to see up close. I was told in the follow-up appointment that this was part of correcting my vision. I was NEVER* told before the surgery that there would be a trade-off to get my distance vision fixed. I think it is incredibly unethical to not tell someone that the procedure involves a tradeoff that will affect reading, etc in order to fix distance. I would have weighed the pros and cons very differently. *The doctor did say that lasik can't fix reading/close sight issues that occur with age. I totally get this, but that is totally different than losing some ability to see up close immediately after the procedure. 3. I have had significantly worse side affects than anyone i know that has had lasik. The first week was seriously uncomfortable. I had to turn my phone and computer settings up to the highest old-people settings to even be able to see them for work. Even 6 weeks after the procedure, i still have significant eye discomfort, especially in the mornings. My eyes feel gritty quite often. My eyes are very sensitive to light now. This is much more anecdotal, as i'm comparing to my wife and friends that have had the procedure with other doctors, but none of them have had the level of side affects (either immediate or lingering) that i have had. I have to go back for a 2 month follow-up appointment because there is still some lingering issues that the doctor may need to clean up by washing under the flap on my eye. Not sure exactly what that means, but no-one else i know has had that issue and it matches with the fact that my vision still isn't 100%. Worth noting, i followed all post-op guidelines exactly...the nap was the best part :) In general, the staff is professional and polite, but given the experience and outcome that I had overall, i would not recommend Lasik Plus to others given the number of quality options in the area. read more

Dr. Willis did my lasik surgery in 2005. 12 years and 2 pregnancies later, My aging eyes needed an redo aka enhancement...! For this procedure, I had my initial exam in the McLean office. When it came to schedule the actual surgery, I had my procedure done at the Old Town Alexandria location. (Because my work schedule is packed and varies day-to-day, having the ability to pick a different location worked well for me.) Each and every staff member is friendly and seems to enjoy their job and helping people. (Says a lot about the way this practice is managed.) Dr. Willis is knowledgeable and efficient. He does a great job of explaining the difference in procedures in layman'a terms, along with pros, cons and what type of recovery to expect with each. He has a great bedside manner, talking you through the whole procedure which helps put your mind at ease. I took off one star because it would have been perfect if the scheduling staff could have advised me that a follow up appt with the doctor the next day after the procedure would be necessary. (That would have been helpful to know in advance when I was scheduling my surgery.) But I can give them the benefit of the doubt and perhaps that oversight was an outlier since the staff are pretty great. On another note, Northern Virginia traffic is a beast and this office was flexible, friendly and accommodating when I ran late. And...they are charitable, donating to a local nonprofit for reviews people were...! Their marketing is on-point, clearly taking advantage of social media! (I've had several friends ask about my procedure since they saw that I "checked in" on facebook.) PARKING TIP for Old Town: They validate for a Colonial parking garage whose entrance is off of Cameron St....! read more

I got Lasik back in April 2019 for an astigmatism in my right eye. I didn't notice any positive changes immediately or later. Long story short the DMV says I now need an optometrist recommendation to keep my license active. So after seeing an optometrist, the testing confirmed my eye is worse. After calling Lasik Alexandria they recommended I fax over the results. They said i qualified to get a tune up in my eye. Sadly the same location where i got the procedure done is not the one that handles the tune ups. A Lasik third party called at 6am and leaves a voicemail saying they'd like to schedule a follow-up to remedy the situation. When you call them back 50 times, no response. I feel like i paid to make my eye worse. I intended to only LEAVE 1 STAR, but am leaving 3 so yelp doesn't flag a negative review from a sponsored business. read more

30 years I had to wear some form of lens to see. 20 painless minutes at Lasik Plus and I have 20/20 vision with my own eyes. I thought about lasik treatment for years but was terrified at the thought of having a laser in my eye. I'll tell you this, the procedure was nothing like I had imagined. The staff was incredibly friendly and made me at ease. The doctor was so professional and amazing. He walked me through everything. Each eye took less than 30 seconds and there was some pressure but no pain. The only weird thing was the smell of the laser towards the end. Let's just say you knew what it was but you didnt care cause you had 5 seconds left. So today I can drive, swim and see everything I couldn't before without an appliance. Do yourself a favor. Ok so first let's start with the space: ABSOLUTELY neat, not at all cluttered, straight forward and not uncomfortable like a regular eye Dr. office would be. The atmosphere didn't have me feeling awkward or anxiety ridden upon arrival, even during the date of my appointment when the lobby was semi full! Plenty of seating in the primary waiting area and the operation room is easy to view behind glass, but the one inside will not feel at all uncomfortable while the surgery is being performed. Service: the customer service here is PHENOMENAL!! The staff is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Usually I get a vibe from staff in the type of environment as pompous, judge, or even fake. However here totally it the case! Everyone was so supportive and judgement free. I didn't feel nervous prior to and even after my appointment and that kind of trust from me honestly is very rare! Dr. Reinhardt and Dr. wills were both straight forward, honest with results and if there was a concern they tell you without sugar coating but treat you like a person, and not talk down to you like you're a child. Everyone is professional AND friendly. I apologized why felt like a million times for things going off on my end however everyone was so very patient, and helped me to make sure things went as smooth as possible. 10/10 I highly recommend this facility. I was nervous at first especially when you are dealing with your eyes and surgery, but 5 minutes in and out and I was seeing 20/15 and promptly threw away all my contacts and glasses and I feel amazing. I am so glad I did not go through with the procedure there. The day of my evaluation I was told that my information would be used to see if I qualified for financing for the procedure IF I decided to go through with it. A week later I receive a card from some bootleg bank stating that I opened an account with them for 5500$ with 27% APR!! The staff at Lasik never explained that an account would be opened in my name. To make matters worse, the deal advertised online and on the radio was total BS. In order to qualify for the 299$ per eye, your vision needed to be close to 20/20. Why would someone need Lasik with near perfect vision? Stay away from this place. Something shady is going on there. read more

The customer service at Lasik Plus is horrendous. I have been trying to get in touch with them about an enhancement for weeks now. Every time I call, I am told that the woman in charge of my account will give me a call back within a couple of days and I NEVER hear from her. I actually received a call a week ago from a different woman, just to be told that I should be hearing from the woman in charge of my account within 5 days. Still NOTHING. This brings me to my next point. I am trying to get an appointment with them to discuss why my left eye goes in and out throughout the day from being fairly clear to EXTREMELY blurry. I had the lasik procedure done in December of 2015. Since then, I have had follow up enhancement surgeries done on BOTH eyes (once in each). And I am STILL having trouble seeing. I would love to be able to see clearly, especially after paying nearly $4k, but at this point it seems impossible to even talk to anyone/book an appointment. read more

This review is for the consultation and surgery: Scheduling the appointment was extremely simple, Lasix plus is very flexible with your schedule. Upon entering the office the staff was extremely friendly and I was assisted very promptly. The appointment was very informative and the testing didn't take very long. The surgery itself was completely painless, I was a little anxious but Dr. Wills explained the entire process and walked me through the surgery. It put any worries at ease. Immediately after walking out of the office my eyesight had improved. When I arrived home and the numbing drop wore off I did experience an intense burning sensation in my eyes. After some sleep it was no longer present. 1 week after surgery: I am seeing 20/15 with only a little bit of fogginess in my vision that will clear up. Besides that I am seeing crystal clear and couldn't be happier. It's to the point where I catch myself reminding me that I'm not wearing contacts and it's awesome! Seeing the license plates on cars across the street was a great moment! If you're on the fence about whether not to get the surgery just do it! It has been life-changing and the team at Lasix plus are exceptional! Every time I call they always in high spirits. Dr. Willis is extremely professional and a phenomenal surgeon. Where to start.... honestly words can't express how thankful I am for this procedure, the office, and the entire team. I decided to get LASIK after years of deliberation. My contact and eyeglass providers were giving me to run around and jacking up prices so I decided to take the lasik plunge. I looked up lasik places near to me and Dr. Wills and his group were the highest rated. I gave them a call and had a consultation a week later. They were professional and friendly the entire time. Dr. Wills even calls you personally before your surgery! The day of he surgery was seamless. They did one final thorough exam. Dr. Wills took time again to answer any questions I had (between the consultation and surgery date i was watching a lot of YouTube horror stories so I definitely had a few questions lol), but dr wills answered them all precisely. The surgery was good. Took about 10 minutes total! No pain. Just discomfort. But it wasn't too bad. Went home, went to sleep for a few hours and woke up seeing like I had my contacts in. (People say it burns after, yes it burns but it wasn't unbearable. Kinda just felt like I had really old contacts in my eyes lol) This is literally one of the best investments I've made in myself. The level of customer service really just depends on the day. I received PRK which requires a lot of follow up appointments. Each time I go back it's a different experience with staff. Hopefully they show improvement. read more
