I have been going here for a few years since it's close to home, and it's a decent experience - I LOVE that they don't blow the puff of air in your eyes like typical offices do, and Dr. Frederick is nice, the wait time is usually long though. Typically when I go for my visit I get checked in and end up waiting for 15-20 min, then after they take me back to the first room and machine where they look at your eyes before putting you in the room to wait for the doctor another 20 min which is a bit annoying. When I visited 10/31 for my exam this year, I was on time and told the doctor was running 45 minutes behind so I just waited in my car (although there are places to grab a quick bite nearby) and when I got in I still had to wait another 10-15 min as she was going back and forth between patients. The staff is really nice, and the exam itself is comfortable so the time is really the only reason I took a star off. She's also very patient bc I am a bit sensitive with the bright light at the part of the exam when trying to look into my retina. I don't have glaucoma in my family and she asked me to return for an assessment, but I haven't gone - it just feels a bit odd but I appreciate her being cautious and proactive. I don't purchase my glasses or frames so I can't speak on that part. There is plenty of parking in the lot behind, or a few spots right in front. She has a clean restroom as well. read more

NEVER AGAIN!!!! Lost me as a customer. My prescription hasn't changed over the last few years. I preceded to get another exam. New Doctor here this time uses my old prescription as a baseline and states "okay 20/20 so we will keep it the same" then changes my contacts vendor/type without asking me. When I explicitly stated I have used these for over a decade and they are what I want to use. Then the Doctor changes my eye glasses prescription a little when she stated it was already 20/20 with the current prescription. What the F! Is she getting kick backs???!!! Never going here again! I have mixed feelings. The optometrist was friendly but the prescription was extremely strong and incorrect . I use glasses only for night driving and fog. I have a pretty simple prescription and it hasn't changed much in the last 5-8 years. I left Clearfinity with increased strengths of .25 and .50 and added progressive lens - which was a new thing for me. I didn't realize just how much the new prescription differed from old prescription until I purchased glasses about 3 months later. I immediately knew something was off when I put them on! I contacted Clearfinity and explained the glasses gave me an immediate headache and everything was tiny. The receptionist blamed the manufacturer, citing possible incorrect axis' and to follow up with the vendor. I did just that and everything was confirmed to be correctly constructed by the vendor. I called Clearfinity back and finally compared my original prescription (2 years prior) with theirs and they said they were unable to reassess. Despite the obvious increase in strength and prescribing progressive lenses (which I didn't ask for or discuss), my insurance would not cover another exam and Clearfinity would not double check their numbers unless I paid for another eye exam. The receptionist said I had 2 months from the visit to receive any revision or changes- despite only filling it that month. I decided not to pay Clearfinity for another eye exam- especially fully out of pocket since my initial was covered by insurance considering they messed up my exam. I voiced my disappointment and was then told I'd have to pay $60 for the refraction at minimum. I declined, that was almost the entire out of pocket cost! I went elsewhere and *SURPRISE* the new doctor's exam produced a prescription identical to my original prescription. It was completely unchanged and no need for progressives. Clearfinity has a nice location but my faith in their ability to execute and stand behind their product is lost. It would have been nice to speak to a doctor- not receptionists, at some point, to actually hear my concerns instead of how the situation was handled. I'm glad to was diligent enough to get a second opinion- even if Clearfinity didn't feel the need to reassess. read more

I attended a conference and sat in the front row and for the first time, the presentation was blurry. Upon returning home I scoped Yelp for a local optometrist to get my eyes checked stat. I booked my appointment online, received a confirmation via email and a friendly reminder via text. Excellent! Dr. Frederick is one of a kind. She totally gets quality customer service. She took her time with me, explaining every exam and helping me to understand how my eyes have changed in two years. We joked about our kids and their crazy homework, and life in general. When it came time to pick out my frames, the receptionist assisted me. I never felt rushed as I probably tried on 50-60 pairs of glasses/sunglasses. She was patient with me, offering up her kind reaction to each one, which was the same reaction I had. I love that Dr. Frederick waited to dilate my eyes until after I had chosen frames. After settling on the first pair I tried on (go figure!), she walked me through the pricing. They even took the time to draw up both scenarios - which pair I'd get the most bang for my buck for submitting to insurance. Many consumers get their eyes examined and then shop their prescription for the best rate. I didn't hesitate to spend my money all in this business because the customer service provided to me was worth every penny. I will be seeking services elsewhere. I went in December 2021 for vision change, the doctor did not catch my cataract. Or astigmatism!! I was told to get glasses and an updated contact RX. I paid $$$ for them. 2-3 months later my vision changed or has gotten worse since December.. i told her I had protein build up on my contact lens and she switched me to the daily use ... only to have the sane issue with seeing dr said " I don't think you have a vision change" there's no issue . Here I am waiting to get surgery from ANOTHER doctor for cataract surgery/ astigmatism correction. Not to mention my daughter's glasses broke and they were to replace them only to get a totally different color ( we asked for black or brown... they gave us a blue and green combo) read more

Honestly the best eye appointment experience I have ever had! While the rest of the world starts to ease up on COVID restrictions, Clearfinity Eyecare is still taking measures to keep their patients and staff safe. This place is by far the best, and I mean best eyecare center I've ever been to. Thy have a vast selection of frames, including sunglasses, and it's not too expensive. The doctor was/is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and actually seemed like she took a personal interest in my eye care. She's a great person, so even if you're just looking for an eye exam, go to her, you won't regret it. The staff on my first visit were amazing! I showed them my old pair and told them that I wanted something similar, and within 3 minutes I had 3 frames in front of me. That shows me that they're very aware of their products. Extremely disappointed. I moved to this area recently and had Dr. Frederick examine me in September 2020. During the exam, I mentioned to her that I had severe tree pollen allergies and that I was on eye drops. I told her I was no longer needing them because tree pollen season was over. Now it's Spring 2021 and she won't prescribe me the eye drops unless I come in for another exam. So much for supporting small business. Off to the big box eye doctor I go. read more

My overall experience is based on having two annual eye exams and purchasing a pair of glasses through them. Rebecca has been wonderful in assisting me with getting the right pair of lenses. She meticulously went over with me all the little details in ensuring that I got the features I wanted. She deserves big kudos for her help, and I am very pleased with the glasses! Overall, Dr. Frederick and the staff have been friendly during the two annual check ups I had. I did not feel rushed through the exam, and the doctor is knowledgeable with what she is doing. I think it is mandatory to pay out of pocket for the additional tests, just to get a much more accurate diagnosis of the eye. The only discomfort I had was the considerable waiting time on the second visit, but it was understandable due to a patient before me having some kind of medical and/or insurance issue. Well worth the visit even though they were out of network for my insurance. I still only had to pay a $10 copay for a routine eye exam. This was the most thorough eye exam I've ever received and she worked really well with me and my sensitive and twitchy eyes. I recently moved my folks from Haymarket to assisted living in Lorton. Not long after, mom's lost the lens out of her glasses that she had just had made in Haymarket four months prior. Gretchen and another staff member went above and beyond, communicating with the optometrist in Haymarket to get the lens replaced. I think my current prescription has changed (I'm due for an eye exam) and although they are out of network for me, I will definitely give them a try! I found Clearfinity when I was looking for an optometrist that carried TC Charton lenses. This is the only place in the area that does so if you need "Asian Fit" glasses (shallow nose bridge, high cheekbones), this is the place to go! My appointment was setup easily enough and Dr. Frederick was great and professional. Also, no puff air test! They use another technology to measure instead of the surprise air in the eye. 2 week turn around on my glasses and I love them. I have fashion forward frames that fit my face and don't slide off my nose. I will be coming here for all my eye care needs in the future. read more

Six stars out of five! Dr. Frederick and her team are exceptional! I was having issues with my vision and Dr. Frederick was very accommodating by allowing me to get a next business day appointment during these tough quarantine times. I was having issues with my insurance and Dr. Frederick hopped right on the phone to help me sort out my issue even after I offered to proceed sans insurance. She said "No, this is an easy fix and you should be able to use your insurance." Although this took extra time beyond my scheduled appointment and probably made Dr. Frederick stay a little later, she was very thorough and patient as she guided me through each exam. She took very good care of me and thoughtfully explained what each exam did and the results that she found. She was quickly able to diagnose and explain the issue that I have and prescribe we with medicine, which I feel like is no easy task during this quarantine. As we were finishing up, Dr. Frederick even took her time to find me some coupons that I could use if my prescription ended up being too expensive through my insurance provider. She really went above and beyond and I plan to continue to have my annual exams at her office. I am extremely happy with my visit! read more

I went in today to deal with something causing irritation in my eye. I was told it would be a medical appt instead of an eye appt. I told them I had tri-care and was told they would take the information once I got there. After checking in, they never said anything about them not accepting tri-care. After the appointment when they billed me they told me they don't take tri-care, and this would be an out of pocket visit. I was pleased with the the actual care received, and customer service was polite, but the issue with billing was a complete fail. Needless to say my wife and I won't be taking our regular eye care there. read more
