So this is an update to my purchase. I really enjoyed coming here but I take a couple stars away because 1) whenever you call you are out on hold for a really long time, 2) I referred two people but only got credit for referring one person(that person even emailed the office!) 3) I only lost half of my hair :( after a lot of money, a year of shaving and 8 laser zapping in my coochie I am a lifts disappointed. ALTHOUGH I have reddish brown hair and the only hair that grows back now is red and blonde. It's significantly less which is great but it's not gone :/ I would recommend this type of laser hair removal on someone with BLACK hair. Not brown... :/ oh well... They don't do patch test for you unless you buy one of their packages!! this is ridiculous! "The purpose of the patch test is to determine a safe and effective setting of the laser for your skin and hair type". It's as simple as that. But when you asked them before buying their packages they simply say "sorry we don't do that". Now I'm gonna tell you what happened to me: I went for a consultation session. They went through all the prices for me. At the end of the session I asked her if I can have a patch test to see if my skin is sensitive to their laser and if I can tolerate the pain. She said she won't do that: "Unfortunately we don't do that here!". So I didn't purchase any of their packages. Instead I got their Groupon voucher for a small area to see how it works for me. I got an appointment for treatment but when I got there after another half an hour consultation they asked me to book another time for treatment!!! why? because the first session is for consultation only! funny thing is that when I called for booking an appointment I told them that I have already had a consultation and I do not need another one. Anyway I went back the day after. Then they did a patch test and told me they cannot tell if my skin is sensitive to their laser and I need to come back tomorrow!!! So I just canceled my Groupon voucher. They just wasted my time. They could easily prevent this by doing the patch test in first OR second consultation. read more

Update.. I missed a payment on my services and was not allowed to schedule an appointment. I tried calling and calling multiple times and they kept telling me that I needed to talk to somebody else only to never be able to get a hold of the person I was supposed to talk to. Once again I had received treatment only for services to not be continued to be received. Laser hair removal is a process and it seems all of these companies want you to pay so much up front and the second something goes wrong they cut you off. The company that the loan is through is still trying to go after me for full payment of services even though I have never been able to receive treatment. I have well overpaid for the one treatment I received. I don't think you should be punished so severely for a single missed payment. Things easily could have been resolved and no one has cared to fix the issue or even call back as promised. read more

In each of my sessions I got a different nurse and each one did the process differently which I did not enjoy. They also make you go through a loan process that is separate from them and they are difficult to deal with and hard to pay our loan off because they don't ever tell you the real amount you owe. However the front desk staff I always friendly here but other than that I wouldn't go back. read more

I had a pleasant experience at this LaserAway location. Initially, came here for laser treatment to my legs. The receptionist was pleasant and greeted me with a smile (after finishing her conversation with another staff, which was a little annoying because the conversation was regarding a Starbucks order). However, once in the back both tech( I had 2/3 treatments) was pleasant and easy to talk with during the quick treatment. One thing I did notice was the first treatment seemed to last longer than the second one. That being said I did purchase additional treatment during the 75% off deal. BAD BAD BAD customer experience. I brough a package for ~5K. I had a abdominal surgery and did not do on certain body part after 5th treatment. Thereafter, I lost my job and moved to different city. It took a while for me to get my life back in track. After everything settled down for me it occured to me that I have to complete my hair removal. When I called for the first time one Lady read for me all I have done and all the remaining (which was fair). Thereafter I got a call again and out of my surprise they said just one left for abdomen that's it. Feeling cheated on my money and 100s time I call Customer Care no result. I have been going to the Mt View location for over a year now and still loving it. I moved to San Jose but still go to this location because I love the service. Everyone at the front desk has always super helpful and patient. The nurses have always made me feel very comfortable. As far as the treatment and the results, I couldn't be happier. Finished Clear & Brilliant and get tons of compliments on how well my skin looks! (People think I naturally great skin now ;) ) I am still in the process of tattoo removal and hair removal and it is coming along amazing! WOW!!!! I love Clear + Brilliant treatments!!! I truly recommend this place. Christy is so nice and is always there to respond to any questions you might have. I really wanted to like this place and have good results! At first everything seemed great- The laser doesn't hurt and the reception area is very nice, scheduling seemed easy. I do agree with others that it's a huge waste of time to come in for a consultation, but I believe it's legally mandatory. If you're ready they could also start your first session after the consultation (if there's time.) Anyway, The first 3 sessions seemed fine and simple. I saw some results in my 2 areas. I recalled the 1st session the lady said to do the max/more powerful laser since I have the perfect skin/hair type. I mentioned this when I went for my 5th session, because I just didn't see good enough results at that stage. But the person said there was no mention of this in my file so the lady must have forgot to add notes. She said this happens! So basically I missed out on about 3 sessions of the max laser, which I did want. At this point I still do not see the results I want. In fact, I barely see a difference. Since you have a session every month it's easy to think you see results but after there's more than a month with no session, you realize the hair is still there and coming back.. I understand 6 sessions may not be enough, but if I don't truly see any results, why pay for more? Also I have the perfect hair/skin type, so 6 sessions SHOULD show some results. I have had laser in the past at another place and even that showed some results- I still have those results for my legs. On to my next point.. My last session the receptionist put in the wrong time for my appointment- I was there in person, and she still made the error. I was pretty upset when I called them after receiving the text confirmation, and luckily the manager managed to get me in. For my current appointment they texted me saying someone was sick and asked if I could come in much earlier than my appointment time. I said no, and that was it.. no response. I was wondering if they would call me or something? Nope. I finally called and they had no record of it or a new appointment for me, so they completely skipped my appointment and had to schedule me another month out! The only thing I could do is call every day to see if there was a cancellation! Are you kidding me? They should call me if they find an available time since they messed up. I am very unhappy with them, and also this now shows there are no results since my hair looks the same. I do not plan to continue getting laser here. If other people actually have results months after their last session, then that's really good for them.. I didn't have that "luck". 2 stars for generally nice service and clean building. Just to clarify, I used Groupon to purchase two 6 laser sessions for my face. I have white skin and dark hair, which is the perfect combo for laser. I have now been to 3 different laser places to justify my results. I understand there are several reasons laser may not work as well on the face, but to not see any results at 5 sessions is not good. read more

Everyone here is so great! I decided to get laser hair removal and was offered an excellent deal by Christy--who is absolutely fabulous. I even purchased a package for my mom. Not only was the pricing right, the staff was super friendly and understanding. Today I went in for my first treatment and, again, was greeted with enthusiastic staff who answered all my questions. The treatment was over quickly and was relatively painless, only minor discomfort which is normal. So excited not to have to wax anymore, and couldn't be happier about the location I chose to get this done! On a side note, I love how pretty and clean the waiting area is. I've now been in two of the treatment rooms and they're comfortable. Both technicians I spoke to were really kind and helpful. I highly recommend the MV LaserAway if you want to save yourself from daily shaving, painful and expensive waxing, and having to constantly pluck every stray hair. read more

I first want to give a note of appreciation to Raya, Tricia, & Christy who inspired me to write a long overdue review. Tricia was the sweet nurse who treated me twice and was not only sweet but very thorough and professional. Raya and Christy were at the front and I mentioned to them how difficult it has been with my recent move and job schedule to get in for any appointments. They were kind and listened to me. I arrived about 10 mins early and they were able to take me in right away because the person before me was running late. Anyways Raya and Christy were so kind and were able to move some things and found me a 15 min slot an hour later so I came back for that. Then as I was leaving they were patient in helping me book out my next sessions. About 15 minutes later when I was on my way home Christy called me letting me know someone had just cancelled that afternoon and she had thought of me right away. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO DO THIS by the way. She went above and beyond to offer it for me which is so appreciated. I have gone to this location a couple times for laser hair removal and despite by concerns about pain and efficiency I was pleasantly surprised. I am a baby when it comes to pain. Absolutely no tolerance at all and I can honestly say that I barely feel this treatment. Almost no comparison to the pain of waxing. Now for the efficiency- I bought a special that was 8+2 treatments. I am now almost 80% done and can say that there has been a reduction of hair and thinning of hair that does come back. There are some areas in which the results were amazing right away (under arms) other areas are more stubborn and yes some hair does come back eventually but compared to the frequency of times I had to shave and the amount of hair - it is an improvement. Yes, for the amount of money I paid I would love for the hair to be 100% gone but understand the reasoning o hormones and growth cycles. I would appreciate if we could opt in to higher strength treatment. I have always (with the exception of one time a the santana row location) had a great experience with the nurses. They are kind and knowledgable. Yes it is difficult to get an appointment. Sometimes you have to keep calling but this is really only when I have not stuck to my cadence of regularly booked appointments. If you book 8 or so weeks out as they suggest then there is availability- It is when you are trying to get day of, same week, etc that the availability is impacted. I feel as though sometimes I have called and the people on the other line are not willing to look into making things work or sound annoyed by asking for multiple date options. Also there have been times in previous months that I had to call a couple times over a period of days to finally get ahold of someone. This is the only reason for docking one star. read more

I looked at all the yelp reviews but decided to go in regardless of what many people have said in their reviews, my consult with Margaret was amazing, I was told about all of their services and the prices for everything which made me more than excited to start out my process. I opt'ed for the 24month no interest pay option and was sent an email to fill out the application. I had some questions about it and was told that I could call the number they gave me and they would be able to help, considering that they didn't explain anything about the online app. Its been two days of back and forth calling and I have yet to have an actual conversation with someone. I was put on hold for a solid 8 minutes, which was fine, that's not what bothered me. What did bother me was that I was placed on hold and THEN WHEN THEY FINALLY TOOK ME OFF THEY SAID MY NAME AND RIGHT AFTER I RESPONDED THEY HUNG UP! So I called back thinking maybe it was a solid accident and the lady apologized but had attitude and put me on hold again. After being on hold for another 5 minutes I decided to hangup. Im beyond upset about it because I was more than excited to start my journey with Laseraway. I am going to be trying another one of their locations. Beyond that my consult was held right infront of the door to their bathroom... like people had to ask us to move out of the way so they could use it. read more

I did 8 sessions on my upper lip/underarms over the last few months. Based on my experience, there is nothing exceptional about this place, but it might be worth going to if you live close by and find the location convenient (like I did). Below are some pros/cons: Pros: - Clean - Open (relatively) late, till 8 pm I think - The technicians are fast and the sessions are done quickly Cons: - Prices fluctuate all the time, don't take them at face value. You have to wait for a promo - They are always overbooked, if you miss an appointment or have to reschedule you may have to wait weeks to get back in - Receptionists can be unprofessional at times. Not good with managing the phones, keeping customers on hold for extensive periods of time etc. - One time I had my session canceled due to a machine being down, was told someone would call me to reschedule, and I never got a call. I had to follow up on my own on two separate occasions to arrange something. - They are not focused on results. I had 8 sessions done on my upper lip and had very poor results. The only thing they suggested was that I buy a whole other package at face value to try again. read more

The best Nurses in the world! I don't know her names unfortunately but one was from Mexico and the other from Poland (trainee). I had a full body session for hair laser removal in Palo alto location and it was super good, efficient and even funny. They worked very well and very professionally as I had never experienced in the Mountain View location, for example. I had only watched YouTube videos and was quite afraid it would be very painful. She put me at ease and was very gentle. The outcome was amazing. She molded and shaped my lips very slowly. I spent more time filling out the consent forms than actually talking with a human being. When I arrived on time for my consultation, the receptionist at the front said the girl I was going to meet with was out grabbing lunch. I didn't have a problem with this since I knew the medical history and consent forms would take some time. When one of the workers stepped in, she was eating Chinese food right out of the greasy box (so unsanitary!) at the front desk and was interchanging between having the chopsticks hanging out of her mouth to using them as a pointing device to help the receptionist make appointments and talk to other clients. Eventually I realized my appointment was with her and I passed over my iPad I had used to add my medical history to her unwashed greasy hands. She didn't even bother looking over it before she said "okay you can just scoot over here for the consultation". It was still just in the lobby where other clients were waiting their turn therefore there was no sort of privacy. I think my face must've given her a signal that I was not okay with that, so she offered to go into a back room that was open. Once in the back room, I was never offered a seat which I found odd, so we just stood there while we chatted. The whole time I felt like she was rushing the conversation and just word vomiting all the information she was told to say. Everything was too quick and she never asked about any personal information or my medical history that may have an effect on the treatment - which quite frankly she should've looked over on the iPad before seeing me. She was quick to throw out prices and didn't even bother looking at the area I wanted laser hair removal. I had to ask her multiple times to at least glance over it. I've had laser treatments before and they at least take a peek at the area before doing any sort of recommendation. She also seemed annoyed with my questions (like which machine they use and what areas they cover are) and seemed like she was on a major time crunch. Meeting a sales quota was very obvious. With the amount of money this investment is, the consultation was incredibly unprofessional, rushed, and unwelcoming. read more

Bottom line: Tanner skinned ladies, get your laser hair removal here. OMG, I love this place. After a horrible and painful experience at Vienna Skin Clinic, I decided to bite the bullet and get a laser hair removal package at LaserAway. I've gotten 6 treatments so far and my hair is 80% gone in my underarms and Brazillian. We're still working on my legs and upper lip, but the finer hairs will take longer to get permanently removed. PROS: - Appointments: So much easier to make an appointment here than the Santana Row location. I actually live in SJ, but I'm willing to make the trek to Mountain View to get an appointment sooner. - Nurses: Every nurse that I've gone to is SO nice! They made sure I'm comfortable every single time (especially during my 1st appointment because I was shaking!). You can ask to get numbed 30 minutes prior to your appointment and the nurses will adjust their speed and countdown to make sure you're doing ok. I feel like they have my best interest at heart too because after I went on vacation and was slightly tanner than usual, they asked if I could reschedule since I could possibly get scarring from the machine. - Decor: Clean and modern. Decor feels very feminine and glam and I love that they are always playing Keeping Up With The Kardashians haha. - Machine: They carry the top of the line laser hair removal machine. This is crucial for me since with my tanner skin, I can get burned. With this one, it adjusts to my skin tone and I've never had a blister or burn. CONS: - Prices: It's not cheap, but after getting cheap laser hair removal (with BAD results), this place is SO worth it. I suggest getting a package, you can get a payment plan and get more discounts that way! read more
