I wish Sandy spent a bit more time discussing the shape and color with me before starting the process. Unfortunately this was my first bad and unprofessional experience. I wouldn't have given this place a bad review but I was waiting in the car for 20min. Basically my appointment (I made 2 days ago) was at 11am and the technician decided to text me last minute if I can change my appointment to 12 pm which is fine but I couldn't due to work. She said can I wait until 11:30am and I agreed. Now I was in my car and it was 20 min past 11:30am and still no text and no apology and even til now (12:14pm) and no follow up. Not professional. I did comment about the unevenness of lines, mismatched shapes, and unpleasant darkness at the end of her work. She was able to comfort me by telling me I needed a few days for some healing, exfoliating, etc. I did wait a few days and came back a week later with the same complaints. It was then she advised me to rub Hydrogen Peroxide on my eyebrows until they faded. I left that day doing just as she told... to no avail. Once I actually talked to someone, no problem getting an appt. Paid $39 for this allegedly $80 dollar treatment. Start to finish - it was 20 minutes long - what a rip off. I truly don't know if the candle thing worked. Went in with a sinus head ache and thought bonus! This is the most pitiful massage I have ever seen. She did not wash her hands with soap and water and then proceeds to put a really nice smelling OIL all over my face and hair OVER my makeup. No pressure points and a five minute max "massage" Please don't waste your money on this "treatment." Have to add that the door to the room was really dirty - you look up from the treatment table and see a completely icky blocked screen above you. Can't recommend this - please avoid! read more

Before I went to Kim, I had an eyelash extension from other place and they're falling out. They look so bad and it hurt because all of them are sticking together and they stick to my real eyelash! Kim took care of it very gently and replaced them with new ones. Kim did an excellent job and put all the lashes very neatly. A lot of people complimented on my eyelash and thought they're real. I'll be honest, they gave me a free can of face scrub for writing a review, but then again, they never asked me to write a negative or positive one. But, I really did enjoy my 90 minute facial!! When I filled out my survey in the beginning, I mentioned that hydration and wrinkles were my biggest worries! So to my delight, my aesthetician left the steamer on most of the time, and was very attentive to what I wanted. She used a variety of products and told me each one she put on my face. There was one that stung, papaya enzyme that was a toner mask, and after I told her, she took it off right away and put on a cucumber one. She wanted to make sure my face didn't sting anymore. I enjoyed my massage on my neck and shoulders, and most importantly, I was extremely happy that she didn't try to upsell me any packages or products I didn't want. I mean, if a person inquires about them, I can understand why they would explain such things to you, but it just irritates me sometimes when I'm trying to relax and someone is trying to sell you stuff. That said, I was really happy with my experience at HerbalMineral and would recommend it to my friends who are looking for a facial. Let me start off right away that I had my microblading 3 years ago, and I will explain why I am writing a review just now. First of all, I came to the appointment with my friend, both of us got eyebrows microblading. When I asked Sandy how long does appointment take, she said an hour for each person. She finished both of us in one hour. She did not remove pencil that I used in the morning to color my eyebrows, she did not draw a line to make sure eyebrows are even, she did not make a shape to make sure I like it. She just went to microblading right away. When she finished I looked at my eyebrows and told her you drew a line on top of my eyebrow where I don't have hair. Her response was, just shave your hair! Isn't that the reason why I did microblading on the first place, is not to shave but have more visibility of my hair?! 3 years later, that line is still there, since I was told semi-permanent microblading only last up to 2 years I was waiting for it to fade. It is not going anywhere, no one wants to work with me now until I get it removed and it will cost me minimum $350 to remove it. Sandy takes cash only, there is no consent form even though she uses numbing cream and blade. No pre or post instruction printed anywhere. Very unprofessional and careless about her clients. I had the first 4, and once she missed appointment without any apology. I had a very bad experience with the fifth one. OMG... I'm sorry, but this was the worst, most painful Brazilian wax in my life! :( I wasn't planning to write this review, but I can't stop thinking about how awful my experience was. I don't want to call her out by name because she seemed well intentioned, but I don't think she knew what she was doing. Here's my story... After seeing these great Yelp reviews, I called on a Saturday and I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to see me the same day. I got there right on time and only had to wait a couple of minutes. That's pretty much where the positives end. I'm not new to Brazilians so I think it's safe to say that I know how they're supposed to be done. I might be a bit of a girly-girl, but I'm no wimp and have a pretty high tolerance for pain. She started off with a typical hot wax that's removed with a cloth. The first strip hurt, but it wasn't out of the norm. For some reason she switched to a "hard organic wax" for the second application.. the kind that's pulled off after it hardens and doesn't require cloth. I was fine with that, but the problem was that she didn't let it harden! Imagine if someone put a fat glob of caramel on your pubes, let it set up into your hairs, then tried to pull it off while it's still kind of sticky like day-old gum. Yeah, PAINFUL!! And the hair was not gonna go anywhere. Rather than letting the wax set, she kept trying to tug on the taffy! AGHH... just the thought of it horrifies me all over again. According to their website, she's a "Licensed Aesthetician", so I'd think she should know when wax is or isn't ready to be removed. I was in MAJOR PAIN and asked her to switch back to the regular hot wax. She left the "organic wax" limply hanging from my pubes and moved on to another section... and the pain didn't stop there... the same thing kept happening over and over... The next problem was that she wouldn't firmly smooth down the cloth or hold my skin taught before pulling, which resulted in the same situation as above: multiple TUG TUG TUGS with PAINFUL FAILS!! I almost asked her to stop mid-way through because I was in so much pain and really frustrated. The only thing that stopped me was the fact that my crotch looked like a ZEBRA because she had no methodical way of waxing... no top to bottom or left to right... she just waxed very randomly, leaving patches of hair all over. When she was finally "done", I looked down and there were quite a few obvious stray hairs. I asked if she was planning to pluck them.. and she looked at me like I was an alien and asked "you want me to pluck?"... I've never ever had to ask at any other salon... the whole point of paying to get a Brazilian is to leave with ZERO hair down there... she actually had to leave the room to find tweezers. Is that weird or is it just me? The one think that really upset me was the fact that she actually tried to blame this whole thing on my pubes! She said they grow weird... No one has ever said that to me the countless times I've been waxed in the past. Even if my hair DOES grow weird (which I don't really believe...), it's never ever ever been so painful as it was this particular day. Afterwards, my crotch was totally swollen and had MAJOR red bumps from all the tugging abuse. I've never had that happen before so I was totally freaking out. I ended up doing some major research online and ended up going to CVS around 1am to buy antibiotic cream. The swelling finally went down after three days and I'm happy to report I'm back to normal. I guess I'm more upset about this situation than I realized before... And I really do feel bad because this woman probably has no idea how upset I was because I didn't give her a hard time and I wasn't bitch to her because it seemed like she was just doing her best... I again, am the only guy to have reviewed this place. Dear Lord. This is starting a really bad precedent--depending on how you look at it. For my birthday last year, a couple that I'm friends with gave me a gift certificate for this place. I'm really not into getting facials because I don't like have that scraping tool used on my face, so I decided to look at my other options and chose something that I have been wanting to try for a long time: ear candling. What is ear candling, you ask? Well, it's supposed to be a practice in holistic medicine that inserts a tube-like paraffin wax candle into the ear canal. One end is lit, and the other is inside the ear canal. When the other end is lit, the wax and other "things" inside the ear canal are drawn out. This was my first time trying this and it was an interesting experience. The person that performed the "procedure" on me showed me the stuff that came out, and well, wow. If you want to know, message me, it's a little TMI for a Yelp review! It's a bit pricey for the procedure, but I'd be willing to try it again! read more

Hmm. Lots of great reviews, so why was my experience with this place so poor? It's my first time here. I'm trying to see if this place will make it into my spa rotation. Pencil out. I showed up five minutes before my appointment time. I was greeted right away but a not-so-friendly woman and told to wait. 12 minutes later, a woman walked in (found out later her name is Kim), greeted me and asked me if I had been helped. I told her yes. Apparently, she was my esthetician. No apologies for being late. Oh well. She started with my eye brow wax. Didn't give me a mirror to look at the result after she was done. Hmmm. After that, she started with the facial. Holy cow. Her hands were icy cold. And her hands didn't warm up for the first 20 minutes. The treatment itself was nice but to be honest, nothing remarkable. The last treatment was the brazilian wax. The only person that has given me this treatment to me is Helen at Loma Spa. I didn't appreciate her mad skillz until now because OUCH - this HURTS. The only good thing was that Kim did it fast. Given that she was late, I thought that I wouldn't get out on time but I was. I'm not sure if I should be happy or not. Then I got in the car, looked in the mirror, and *&^%. She totally *&^%ed up my eye brows. No wonder she didn't give me the mirror. No, not happy at all. When I got home, even my husband noticed the eyebrows even though he didn't even know that I was getting an eyebrow wax. "What happened to your brows?" "I don't want to talk about it." Typically I go to Jane at Ted D Bare but I bought the Groupon and decided to try out the Brazilian here. First off, I hate that they don't have a better phone system. They don't have a receptionist so you have to leave a voice mail and they'll call you back to make the appointment. My tolerance of pain is pretty high and usually the waxings don't hurt for me but holy crap. I never flinched and winced so much. I don't know if it's because she pulled the cloth slower or whatever but I was counting down the seconds for the waxing to be over. The lady was nice and the room was clean and calming. But there's only so much calming music can do when you're in pain. My skin was super red and red bumps everywhere. I've never had red bumps like that. Sorry, but no matter how nice you are, the end result is what matters. Thank goodness for Groupon because I paid maybe $25 with tip. But now I know to never leave Ted D Bare again. I'm surprised this place even has a rating of 4 stars. I've come into this place different times, including using Groupon deals and for different reasons and I would rate all visits no more than 3 stars. I wanted to give this place a chance, I really did, but after a few trials, it's really not worth ever coming back. A year ago, I had schedule for a brazilian wax and even that job was mediocre. When I was getting the wax done, I was thinking, "Omg this is great! It doesn't even hurt as much as it usually does at the other place!" Totally wrong. While it may not have hurt much because of their use of soft wax, I had come home and found hairs that were still there and that's REALLY disappointing. I let it go, but come a week after and it turns out the hair is growing faster than normal too. I'm not sure where all the women are going to when it comes to waxes to think this place is great for that, but it is NOT all that and a bag of chips. The lady was nice and all, but meh. Moving right along to my next visit: I had decided I'd try their under arm wax and whitening. It seemed legit, you know. I got to a room and was left to change into a towel that was provided in the room. That whole procedure took about 30-40 minutes, just how it was stated on the website. I also decided to ask about this Groupon that I had bought and completely forgot about until I got there. It was for ear candling and a sinus relief head massage. They said they were able to make it happen afterwards, so I thought, "oh yay, cool!". After the underarm waxing and deodorizing, I went into a different room for the ear candling. I agree with a few reviews before this one: I really think they nickel and dime you. I felt rushed. I figured, "ok, whatever then. I guess" There were two other few times, but let's fast forward to the most recent one. I had scheduled a bikini facial and under arm deodorizing again, since they for some reason didn't understand that I wanted an underarm wax and deodorizing for the appointment I schedule before (They just did a brazilian and underarm wax). I scheduled it for 10am. When scheduling it, they asked me if I needed a reminder car, but I declined, since it was going into my calendar anyway. The day of the appointment, the place was not open at all. I called the number that was at the door at least twice and called the number at least 4 times. Still nothing. I even left a message. I have yet to even hear from them at all, so here we are now. 1 star, because that's really the lowest we can go. While the entrance and waiting area may seem pretty peaceful and clean, having to call them and essentially having to wait for them to call you back to make an appointment to play the waiting game is annoying. Their waxing jobs aren't great; there's always hairs left behind that they always seem to miss. Always. And really? No apology or anything about what happened with my scheduled appointment after being so adamant about making the appointment? I feel like they may treat you a little differently when you use a Groupon too. It's just really disappointing to deal with a transaction like that multiple times. Their prices on their websites also do not match up to what they actually charge either. I swear they had charged me an addition $10-15 under one occasion, and no, that wasn't part of the tip that I should not have added to it. Based on the reviews from a few other places, I don't understand how there are still other people willing to give great reviews about this place when the customer service is only ALRIGHT and the service itself for whatever you scheduled is only ALRIGHT. Why settle for ALRIGHT and you're paying as much as they charge? Maybe it's because at the entrance, there's a big sign that bribes you to make a review on Yelp and they'll gift you $30 worth of merchandise. Thank you, but no thank you! My overall experience: 2.5 stars I went to Herbal Mineral twice. Experience #1. I bought the Living Social Deal for a 90-min Body Contouring Lymphatic Drainage massage. (had I read Toonces C. review I would not have bought the deal. I think the way her situation was handled was very unprofessional). Jinah worked on me and I did not like the experience at all. CONS: - she picked the two parts she was going to work on. She did not ask for my input. She choose my hips and stomach. -she left the room about 4 times during the 90 minutes. She did not explain to me why she was leaving. A couple of times, she left for so long, that I almost got up to put my clothes on to leave. - my back was briefly rubbed, but nothing was massaged. - to "contour" my hips and stomach, Jinah used this large vibrator/massager type machine. My stomach started to hurt with the vibrations and the force. When I got home, I noticed my hips and stomach were bruised. PROS: - she took 90 minutes - products are all organic and cruelty-free - location is easy to access of Stevens Creek Blvd Experience #2. I bought a Travelzoo deal for a 90-minute hydro facial. When I walked in, Jinah was eating at the front counter. (I really don't like that). The woman who did my facial did not introduce herself and I didn't catch her name. PROS: - I came 15 minutes early and they took me - She gave a great facial massage - The neck massage was good. CONS: - My 90 min facial lasted 65 minutes - My eye make up wasn't removed so when the facial was finished, instead of leaving with a dewy look, I had raccoon eyes - The facial mask got into my nose and I had to dig it out when the facial was done. (the product wasn't properly removed) - I told them I'd been there before, but they didn't have my intake paperwork and the woman who did the facial did not ask me any questions or seem to be interested in my assessment of my skin - There was no explanation of what products were being used or why. I purchased a groupon for the semi permanent eyeliner. The eyeliner looked great for the first couple of weeks, but it quickly faded. I was told to return for a complimentary touch up, which would fix the fading and would last me about a year. Three weeks after the touch up, the liner started to fade again. The pain level was at a 6ish (on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being unbearable) and not cheap. All this pain and money for something that only last a few months wasn't really worth it. I got my first eyelash lift and tint here for about $68. My review is on the following dimensions: communication, experience and overall outcome. Overall outcome: It looks great! I love the outcome and how it looks. Communication: As someone who had never had a lift done, I found myself unclear about what was going on, if it was safe, when it would be over, if the pain was normal etc. I tried asking questions to get a sense of what she was doing but only received one word replies in return. It left me feeling unsafe. I would expect a service provider to tell me what she was going to do and how it works. So I was disappointed in this regard. Experience The procedure was very uncomfortable, hurt and my right eye was in slight pain for a day after it was done. All in all, I might do this again but I'm not sure I'd do it here. THANKS TO JINAH I CAN NOW HEAR AGAIN :D My ears were so clogged up I decided to come to Herbal Mineral for ear candling. Ear candling is when they place a candle in your ear and lite the other side of it. It sucks up all your nasty ear wax and helps your sinus as well. I'm soooo happy that I can hear again! The best thing about ear candling is that it's totally pain free! Jinah was the esthetician who did the ear candling on me. She is so friendly and fun to talk to. So the bff got us the Travelzoo deal for the 90 minute facial and overall the facial itself was good but was really disappointed with two main things at this place: - DID NOT FULFILL FULL TIME: We had a 2pm appt but I didn't actually get in until around 2:20pm (their fault not ours) and probably didn't start until 2:30pm and they finished a little after 3:30pm, 90 minutes? I think not! Apparently they were booked back to back. Still, if it was suppose to be 90 minutes, it should be 90 minutes, not 60! Basically at the end they didn't even acknowledge it was shorter than 90 but anyone with a watch and a brain would know it was shorter than it was suppose to be. - LATE: They were late. We showed up 10 minutes before our actual time and the first person they took in didn't get in until 2:10pm. Totally not professional. In terms of the actual facial it was pretty good overall. I would normally tell then that I'm pretty sensitive to extractions but they didn't even do them so no need for that. Overall, my final consensus- there are better places out there. read more

UPDATEL: Kim doesnt work here anymore :(((... its just Olivia. bummer. 3/6/2009 I would give this place 5 stars if I had KIM to do my waxing BUT today I had Olivia. DO NOT have her do your waxing... I booked last minute so I wasn't able to get Kim but instead they decided to have me go with Olivia. Ugh it was ALL BAD... First of all, she isnt as quick as Kim which means my waxing took forever therefore resulting in pain and discomfort. She wasn't very talkative either to try to keep my mind off the pain. What hurt the most was when she kept her gloves sticky which would tug on my sensitive skin. UM can you at least put more powder?! and did i mention, she TOOK forever. When I looked down, there was still many stray hairs and she had to put MORE wax with the strips on my red sensitive skin!!! AGAIN resulting in P-A-I-N... Even at the end, she didnt put enough oil everywhere to get rid of the wax residue after my Brazilian was finished! I had to go the Peninsula Beauty to get some "after waxing oil" to get that sticky wax residue off! THEN had to go home and pluck some of the stray hairs MYSELF. What a draaaggg... I recommend KIM. She is fast, professional, talks to you through the whole thing, friendly, makes sure her gloves dont get too sticky to tug on your sensitive skin "down there", AND even has the time to pluck whatever is left!! OH and at the end, Olivia made it seem so obvious that she wanted me to tip her. When she gave me my change, she was like, "Oh how do you want it to be broken up? Ones and fives?...oh and just keep what you want and I can take the rest..." WTF!?!? I tipped her only 3 bucks since she was BEGGING for it. BUT DAMN. asking for a tip when you did a HORRIBLE JOB!? I purchased a facial on yelp for a discount. Soon after I met with Jinah. I've only been getting facials from 2 of my friends in the past 10 years. The salon is cute, it's next to a day care, but inside it's quiet - I was in the far back room. I did arrive early and they were running behind so I ended up waiting about 20 minutes but it still lasted 90 minutes The facial starts off with a face cleaning, followed by steam and extractions, 2-3 different masks a great head, neck and shoulder and foot massage. I left feeling very smooth, shiny and the trouble areas around my chin and nose have been noticeably smoother and less red several days later. The products smell really good and they are organic and pure products. I am going back to try a body treatment with Maggie and hope I have the same positive experience. It's always great to know another good salon to go for facials. Jinah is really sweet and tells you when she's going to spray your face so you're not surprised. The only thing I'm a tad surprised with is there was no hand/arm massage - but the massage was still great really relaxing and nice. read more

THis is an update. After having a less than stellar experience at the spa, i was contacted to see if another esthetician might be able to provide better service. I'd say they succeeding in sending a better educated pracitioner my way with Meghan for a facial. They offered a mini-facial and she was able to shed some light on my unique skin type and home-care which would be suitable. That was helpful. I will say that one of the lines she recommended was Aveno and after careful look, it contains parabens, so that wouldn't work from an organic standpoint. But i did appreciate the service and that the spa was motivated enough to make things right that they offered the follow-up free of charge. I also like the SPF 30 mineral sunscreen they have. Ok, let me say that the by-line rings true-- I really am in search of all things organic. That said, i was prepared to make this home of my monthly facial before i'd even laid eyes on it. But i'm rethinking that, and its with disappointment. First, let me say what rocked. The spa is very nicely appointed. They played lively jazz, which always makes me happy. The decor was light, sparce enough to feel crisp yet still exuded a warmth which invites you to take a load off. Things other spas in the area could learn from. Also, i loved the new client intake form. I'm in health care, so i look at those items carefully. It was obvious from the questions posed that the intention was really to draw out the client and make up for past "facial indiscretions" which might have crossed the skin. So i was thinking.. yup.. i'm in THE place.. the client will be treated with reverence and the products will be pure. But then, enter the actual treatment.. So, i guess if i had to sum up my major complaint, i'd say that in a 60 min facial, i've never had 30 minutes of it spent with a mask on and the esthetician OUT OF THE ROOM?!? are you kidding me? I've always had masks but while they were on, the practitioner would offer some massage or other soothing support, or take the time for education on skin care. I specifically asked to learn more about good products and home care, but the gal was too busy out of the room hanging out with other practitioners. I mean, 30 minutes? That is half the facial with her GONE. On top of this, which is MAJOR, when i did ask for educational suggestions on skin, she asked what i'd been told in the past. When i relayed this (and the fact that i've got much to learn as a long time wilderness instructor who only recently graduated to lipstick) she didn't offer anything. "Um.. hydrate maybe? That's what i do." So, here's what i'm trying to believe: Maybe this is a case of "operator error." This place could truly rock if the practitioner took their job seriously, knew a lot about skin and saw a facial as an exquisite luxury women are willing to afford. Maybe this spa does excel but i fell into the wrong hands.. But i can't say for sure, so i doubt i'll be going back. read more

Kim is awesome!! I went here to get a Brazilian wax, eyebrows waxed, and my eye lashes permed. The only painful thing was the Brazilian. But come on, no pain no gain! Kim was as gentle as possible with me. She talked to me the entire time. And come on for a $40 Brazilian wax... how awesome is that! No tricks no gimmicks here, all the waxes down there is a flat $40. I also got my eye brows waxed. For $20, it was good not super awesome, but good. Eye Lashes Permed: I'm so glad Kim talked me into getting my eye lashes permed. She curled my real eye lashes. It doesn't hurt at all, talk about pain free! It takes about 30-45 minutes to do. The results are AMAZING! I've gotten so many compliments on them. Best of all, they last for at least a month. Mine are a little over a month now and its still somewhat curled =0). Best $45 ever spent! They take cash and credit. They also do not push you to buy their products in store. And its so cute, on the counter they give away free samples of their products. Who doesn't love free stuff! Ask for KIM! Will totally come back for sure. This place is tricky to find! If your directions directs you to go into a residential area, don't hesitate, because its the right away =0). read more

I have been getting Brazilians for years now, but they do not come cheap. So, I jumped at the chance to experience one at a reasonable cost. My aesthetician was Joy, who was personable and nice. She did a very good job with little pain. She used one type of wax, which was honey wax. I wish she used hard wax on the sensitive parts, but oh well. Anyway, the reason I am giving 3 stars is that she double-dipped. During my appointment, I just kept watching her double dip and I debated on whether I should point it out to her. Well, I decided not to. She is very good but it's not sanitary enough for me to return. I have only been there once. *EDIT* I just noticed another person defending Joy's licensure and practice. I just want to clarify that in no way am I attacking Joy as a individual. I just wanted to be honest and say she double dipped. She finished an appointment 5 minutes before my appointment and took me right away. I do not know if she changed pots, so perhaps she did and she was using a special pot of wax for me. I do not know for sure. But, I wanted to point out she did NOT use latex gloves and she did NOT ask me if I was allergic. That is my observation and I am NOT one of those competitors that write false reviews. I've been writing reviews way before I went to Herbalmineral. So, I went in here for a facial today. and it was possibly the best facial I have ever gotten. Believe me, guys, I know facials. I have had hella bad acne for like 2 years now (fml) so I've gone to a variety of places, from the shadiest spas in Taiwan to the facial expert person at my dermatologist. This was definitely. the best. Maggie was so amazing when she did my facial today. She came out, looked at my face and saw it was a little dry and that I had acne on my forehead, and then she went back into her room to prepare the herbal creams and masks that would cater to my needs (or at least I assume that's what she did). Also, during the facial she was super helpful. She is really knowledgeable about herbs and antioxidants, and she was telling me fruits to eat and fruits to stay away from. She also seemed to know all about my acne problem. One of the things that I loved the most about this facial was that right when she started with the tool of pain.. that scoopy thing that hurts like crap.. she was like "tell me if it hurts too much." Which no one ever really tells me to do. Ok.. let me tell you guys.. This was BY FAR the least painful facial I have ever gotten. I had no idea facials like.. didn't have to hurt like hell. (My pain tolerance is pretty high though, so it would probably still hurt for more people.. but probably a lot less than normal.. haha). Anyway, so after the facial she suggested some cleansers and oils for me to cure my acne.. but didn't pressure me to buy them.. which is koo. haha. She also scheduled a follow up appointment with me so that she can clean up the mess that is my face a little bit more. So i'm going back soon. This place also has ear candling which I want to try. I've been hearing about Herbal Mineral for a while now, but never really made the jump until I saw the lash perm deal. The appointment was pretty easy to make. I called at noon and booked a time for a week later. Two days before my appointment, I had an allergic reaction to some makeup and needed to rearrange my appointment. They were really nice about it, and I didn't feel like they were giving me the stink-eye over the phone. I have medium length lashes which look really nice when curled; however, they never keep the curl for the whole day :( I've tried lash extensions but they're totally not for me. I prefer lash perms. Sima did my eyelashes, and it was a decent job. My lashes weren't curling over themselves, and my bottom lashes didn't end curled with my top lashes which I was really happy about. No more having to spend so much time trying to curl my lashes in the morning! The eye firming lymph drainage treatment felt amazing. Sima's hands are so healing. I felt so relaxed afterwards. Her hands also smelled really nice which I really appreciated. Idk if I'm the only one this has happened to, but one of my pet peeves is when a esthetician eats something strong for lunch; then afterwards their hands smell.. Garlic breath filling up the room.. *shudder* I was really happy with my experience here. I plan to come back the next time I need another lash perm. read more

I came in for the 90 min Hydro Herbs Facial, which is a $120 value. But, I didn't feel it was worth it. Gina was my masseuse, and after reading other yelp reviews, I was really looking forward to seeing her. Here's what happened: I was there for 5 mins before my appt, but had to wait until 15 mins after my appt time. During the facial, there were a lot of noises: footsteps, doors opening and slamming, the loud water faucet being turned on and off constantly, and Gina entering and exiting the room repeatedly... just as other yelpers have made clear. The facial massage was the only great part, similar to what I've received elsewhere. The massage on upper arms and shoulders was good but short, and broken into two separate segments, and the head and neck massage was really short, basically nothing. One big reason I went for this facial was the massage description! Normally, the masseuse will time things as well, so that while waiting for the facial mask, they can massage or work elsewhere on your body. However, after Gina put on my face mask, she just left me alone in the room, which made the wait during the mask feel even longer. Another thing worth mentioning, my skin is very sensitive, and after the extraction and machine cleaning treatment, my skin started to burn. She never bothered to consult with me first what skin type I have, so that she can select the best type of treatment. After I mentioned the burning feeling to her, she was a bit more careful, and put on extra cucumber gel after she was finished. However, the towel they use for your face is just like a normal hand towel, way too rough in my opinion for a facial, and not as nice as the ones I've experienced at a lot of other places. All in all, the service was OKAY! Unless another great deal comes up, I won't be going back. read more

Writing this review so I can get free stuff! But never ended up going back to get my free stuff...should've gotten it when I was there at the time...but was running late. Good deal for girl's spa day. $80 flat rate for 90min per person, seven ladies in attendance. Though had to do some negotiating about what services we wanted. Details could have been clearer about the deal or at least figured out beforehand. Kind of annoying to get annoyed right before a spa day with the girls. Even though I made arrangements almost a month in advance and told them what services we wanted, they were still trying to figure the logistics out when we arrived for our appointment. We also could have done the paperwork beforehand. Would have been nice to come in and relax. But overall, they were very accommodating. Everyone got what they wanted. We spent more than just 90min in the place...ended up running a little late for dinner. Thought it would be interesting to try an organic day spa that was close by to everyone. Treatments: I got the Body Contouring (60min) and Organic Pedi (30min), the others got: - Body Slimming and Firming Treatment (60 min) - Aroma Body Treatment + Dead Sea Salt Scrub (30 & 60 min) - Mini Herbal Facial (30 min) - Organic mani (30min) and organic pedi (30min) Body Contouring: Decent amount of pressure, could have been harder but relaxing. Felt slimmer in the abdomen area for a few days, skin felt kinda rubbery of sorts. Organic Ped: typical pedi, decent job. Nothing exciting...but felt rushed. We had been there for almost 2hrs already. Would I go back? Maybe, for a girl's day again if I were in the area. Other comment: should have been told beforehand that they use this organic massage oil that can stain your clothes. I think i still prefer the $50 full day spa experience at the Four Season's in Jakarta, Indonesia or the $10 Thai massage in Bankok. read more

I've purchased a few specials for micro-dermabrasion and eyelash lift. Very happy with both treatments! Sandy is great, Facial massage was amazing! I also like the fact that when Sandy looked at my skin type , she knew what I need, Thant kind of specialist I always wanted! LOVE my eyelashes. First time I tried that treatment. For my wedding I thought I would splurge! Instead of fake eyelashes that I take off the next morning, why not get eyelash extensions that I could wear throughout my wedding AND honeymoon? HerbalMineral had great reviews and they were able to fit me in 2 days before my wedding (FYI - they usually ask you to come in at least 3-4 days ahead of a big event in case you have a small reaction). Also, the cost wasn't ridiculous as some places, and it was close to home. I had requested Joy or Kim (based on all the reviews) and ended up with Kim. Kim was sweet and so gentle that I am pretty sure I fell asleep during the 90 minutes process. Kim used the length/size #12 lashes, as my natural lashes were already a #10, so to actually notice the difference, we had to go up to #12 (which I guess is the longest?). After it was done, I thought it looked a little dramatic for me BUT it grew on me very quickly! Everyone commented on how great they looked - not over the top, yet they really made my eyes stand out. It's amazing how much more feminine these suckers make you look. Plus the added benefit of not having to spend as much time on your makeup since the lashes prettify you enough. It's been 2 months and there are just a few stranglers hanging on for dear life at the outside corners of my eyes. I had initially thought this would be a one-and-done deal, but I'm starting to realize how much I actually liked having them... sigh. Do I have to add another beautification routine to my budget? I think I might... I miss my #12's - my natural #10's just don't seem to be cutting it anymore... read more

Visited Kim 2 months ago and had the most amazing 90-minute facial of my life. One word ... WOW! Kim's hands are like warm little mitts. My skin never looked so clean. She got down and dirty with all my blackheads. (I felt sorry for her). Kim specializes in lashes and facials and she is truly an expert in her craft. ==UPDATE== Went back for a pre-wedding facial, brow waxing and eyelash extensions. Very happy with the results. Now my lashes look natural, long and full of volume. It's not pricey at all compared to the city. Most of the lash extensions would cost 250-300 in SF but mine was only 160 with Kim. I got the extra curly lashes so they cost more that the regular one. read more

Eyelash perm didn't really work on my straight lashes but they were kind enough to redo the perm for free next week to make sure that I am satisfied with the results. The procedure itself was unpleasant especially while removing the glue, however, the eye massage at the end of it made it more bearable. Hopefully next week I'll finally get the results I was hoping for. The place itself is pretty nice, but it was hard to relax hearing kids crying and running around. The music could also be a little more serene. I will be there again next week to finalize this review, but for this visit at least, I would give it three stars. I'll write another review on this place next week after my second eyelash perm. read more

With the boyfriend coming in town the next day, I was in the market for an emergency Brazilian - so I found this spot on Yelp. I'm really glad I did! I told the receptionist that I couldn't be there before 5:30 or 6, have really sensitive skin and course hair, and it had been awhile (like well over 10 weeks) since my last wax. She said, "No problem!" and they scheduled me for that afternoon with Sima. Simply put, Sima was fabulous. She was quick (but not rushed), VERY thorough and extremely polite. She also kept apologizing because she saw me wince a few times - but it was one of the least painful waxes I've had. After it was done and passed her - and my - inspection, she gave me some soothing oil that felt amazing. Even though this was a random close-to-work choice, I may just forgo the other options I have in the city when the time comes again. And, for the record, I wrote this review because I was so happy with the service - I didn't receive any free product for it, as some other people below have indicated. read more

3 stars for a few reasons: 1) It was my first time getting a brazilian yesterday and let me tell you that I thought it was one of the most PAINFUL things I've ever decided to do to myself. I even bled a little in my inner-thigh area, but Sandy said that my skin is very delicate and thin in that region so it's normal. I've heard from a few other girlfriends that the same thing has happened to them before, so just keep in mind that waxing is never a painless experience to most girls!! 2) Although a few people have written on here that they've witnessed double-dipping, Sandy did not double-dip yesterday. 3) I think they just moved to this location (?) because there are still a lot of boxes lined up on the side and there's no sign directly above the place. 4) The room was very clean and calming in atmosphere, so that helped me relax a little. 5) The cost was only $40, compared to a lot of other places that charge $55 - $60. 6) Did I mention that it was painful?? 7) Sandy used the honey wax yesterday, which was hot, very sticky, and as I mentioned above, PAINFUL! Eek. I think I'm just really sensitive to this type of stuff. It was my first time doing this EVER though, so I'm guessing that I just need to get used to it. She was really nice when she was waxing me, coaching me through the whole process as if I was going through child birth, hahaha. One of my close friends advised for me to go to another place that uses blue wax instead of the honey wax because it's supposedly less painful and speeds up the waxing process. And yes, baby oil and baby powder do become your best friends for the next day or two! read more

I simply adore Herbal Mineral for the simple fact that they are fairly priced for the service needed. I get a brazilian on a monthly basis and it's only $40! To someone like me who religiously believes in getting a spa service monthly, it's unbeatable. I have tried ALL the brazilian waxing places around the area including Aveda and other notable spas, but they all charge $65 and up for a job that Herbal Mineral does better. Besides the price, what I love most about Herbal Mineral is that they get you in and out quickly. Most spas that I have been to, the gals like to chat with you during the service and make conversation. For me, I like getting in, minimal talking, and getting out and Herbal Mineral def. does that in a friendly manner. My only complaint about Herbal Mineral is that they are hard to get a hold of for appointments, you usually have to leave a message and they will call you back with an appointment. However once you have an appointment with them, you are all set! Thank God for Herbal Mineral! read more
