If you need a quality haircut and stylist for Asian hair, go to Eddie! I've always had trouble finding good stylists who get Asian straight flat hair and Eddie does a great job. He's also incredibly nice and will make you feel super comfy with his studio. I've been getting cuts from him a couple times now and he doesn't disappoint! read more

I recently switched from where I was going to Eddie Wu since the price kept going up at my last place. It's hard to find someone that cuts short hair and still leaves me feminine but with an edge. I've now been to Eddie twice. He listened, then quickly went to work. I've walked out happy both times and the cut last 6 weeks, which is great for short hair. I'm still making a few tweaks as I figure out what I want but he makes suggestions for what he thinks would match my style. He's easy to talk to and work with and is reasonably priced. I'm looking forward to splurging in the winter by having him do some cool color for winter parties. read more

I actually came to her to fix a highlight hair job gone wrong by some other stylist. She did amazing at fixing the issues. After that, I have been a permanent customer. I have been visiting Jennifer (unit 6, Focus hair) for years and cannot say enough as a hair stylist and person. Jennifer is meticulous with her cuts and styling and never rushed even if there is a line waiting. I love Jennifer's attention to detail after the haircut, time is spent trimming the neck, ear and other unwanted strays. Lastly it's about the style and cleanup that lets you leave the salon ready for a new start, clean and ready to go. Very cool setup here - there are 28 individual small salons inside here. I came here to get a haircut from Lilly in #23. She's done my hair before and it's always a simple, easy-to-maintain haircut for less than $30. She offered coffee, tea or water and free wifi. My cut was a simple trim, so it took less than half an hour. I would recommend making an appointment. Lilly is pretty flexible and can likely schedule you in (everyday 9-7 except Tuesdays), but if you're doing a complicated hair treatment, make sure you budget a few hours. If it is after Sola's normal business hours, the front door may be locked. There's a keypad to the left of the door where you can scroll through the directory for your stylist's number and call them to let you in. Great location with lots of parking since its in the same plaza as Starbucks and Sprouts. read more

I came here for Alice and let me tell you! (her IG is alice.parsa) The experience was 100/10!! She was so kind, so enthusiastic and so happy to work. I told her that I wanted a caramel balayage with a money piece. She asked me a lot of questions and gave me a lot of options, making sure I was happy! She also gave me advice on what would look good for my hair. I totally recommend EVERYONE to go with her. I only go to Sola salon only for ATENA ! She is amazingly skilled in hair and makeup and threading !! I have been seeing Atena religiously for the past SIX years for my threading services. I've been going to Alice Parsa for the last 4-5 years and I highly recommend her! I'll never let anyone else touch my hair. I've definitely learned my lesson in the past about that. She also cuts and sometimes dyes my two boys hair aged 9 and 12. They both love her and both refuse to go anywhere else as she listens to their wants and delivers. I've been going to get my haircut with Valerie at her old Haircut Shop for at least 10 years. Since her old place was getting destroyed to build a new establishment, she ended up moving to a new location. I didn't know where was moving to and I was afraid that I would loose her. I'm glad she found a new location. I follow Valerie to get my haircut even though I live by Morgan Hill. . Prior to me getting my hair with Valerie, I was going to another Shop at at least 20 years. I found Valerie my accident when my friend got his haircut with her and I was with him. At the time, I needed a haircut so I said, why not since I'm already here. This is a review for Lilly in room 24. I usually get consultations before to see what the hairdresser's work and see what their abilities are. My sister and I both got separate consultations (On different days) with Lilly who assured us she can do what we both wanted (She said my sister might be a little difficult because of her previous dyed hair) she even booked us together so she can work on us back to back! The day of the appointment comes and she had me come in at 5 and my sister at 6, when I came in she had 2 clients she was still working on and had me wait for 30 mins. When she finally called me in I showed her the image of what I roughly wanted done and she obliged. We started with a simple cut and got into the bleach. My sister came later and also got a cut and bleach as well. We both had to have 2 bleached sessions because we both wanted to go pretty light (I wanted Silver and my sister wanted Blonde) Things got hairy when it was roughly 10 PM and it was time for both of us to get toned, not only did our hair come out completely uneven, she made us both "silver". I pointed out that my sister's hair looked more silver than blonde, Lilly gave me a WTF look. When my sister told her she wanted to be blonde, Lilly said while laughing "first you want to go silver, now you want to go blonde?" She also had to touch up our bases which became way too light because she put the toner all over both of our heads. Lilly also cut my sister's bangs incorrectly and it didn't look like the image she showed us. And our hair looked almost exactly the same even after all the "fixing" she did. We both finally left fairly unhappy at 1:30 AM The. Next. Day. I've already preordered hair dye to be picked up when the store opens to fix our hair. If you want a basic cut, go to Lilly. If you want color/bleaching, please spend your money somewhere else. read more

A great idea and a beautiful execution. It is a hairstyling marketplace that is built as a big indoor area with many separated small shops, each belongs to a different hairstylist. All stores have a door that opens to the main corridor which loops around the whole place. You can come in a anytime walk around look at the shops and chose your hairstylist. All they need to do is add more shops for nails, waxing, cosmetics, and makeup, and you are sure to walk out of here well groomed. Oh yes, and add a moving coffee cart it will be the bomb. read more

Mana has a great talent for picking and applying just the right hair color. I have been coming to get my hair done with Mana for some time now and I have never left disappointed. She is always so careful, patient and really listens to what you want. She has a gift for knowing what will look good on someone and what is best for the health and integrity of the hair. And on top of being extremely talented at what she does, she is quite possibly one of the sweetest people I have ever met. This review is for Lily at station #23. Such a warm lady! I can go just to chat with her and feel good. I went in wanting highlights without bleach on my much abused hair. She gave me all the pros-cons as it was without beating about the bush. I finally went in for red highlights and I cant stop the compliments I have been receiving. I was always shy of getting red hightlights although been wanting it and she put me at ease right away. Also gave me awesome layers. All in all a good 2 hours spent. U go Lily! read more

Le Hong at Station #9 did an AMAZING job with my cut and color. I've been going to her for years at Star Image Studio but she just moved to Sola! She was able to transform my dry, brassy, blonde balayage to a beautiful and healthy darker ash brown for a very reasonable price, especially for a college student. She's the only person I trust with my hair and has never disappointed! Very talented, listens to what you want, and is the sweetest woman ever! I would recommend her to anyone. read more

I'm no expert on skin care, facials, or detoxes, but I'm super impressed upon my first (and definitely) not last visit. L'Ami offers facial treatments that hydrate and support cellular regeneration. This will be on my next trip, but today, we're going to talk about my food detox session that I had, that was not only refreshing, but educational, as well. What you will notice upon entering the salon, is that the place is super clean, unlike other establishments. Cleanliness is the first and most important priority at L'Ami. With the foot detox treatment, this is paramount. As such, clean new bags are placed in the water basins where your feet get detox. Once the treatment is done, the entire bag is disposed of, preventing any other person form using the same (dirty) water. L'Ami doesn't cut corners by using bags over and over! For the foot detox treatment, I sat on a very comfortable massage chair (lovely)! The water is clean at the start, but once the electrodes are connected to your arm, and the machine is running for ~25 minutes, the toxins go out through the pores of your feet and turn the water yellow, green, or red, depending on what is being cleansed. As a first-timer, the experience can be quite trippy to see all the stuff leaving our body, but once you read the educational pamphlets that are provided while the treatment is undergoing, you get a sense of appreciation that the treatment is wonderful for your body. I've had facials done before and this was the most painful one yet. I know I spent more than half hour with this tech, but felt rushed and left hanging when her next client arrived. Was handed the skin regimen, post care instructions, took my payment and that was that. I know during the treatment we had talked about post-care, but wasn't sure if we were to go over it again so they could potentially sell some of their products to me that were neatly aligned on the wall? My cousin's tech followed through all the way until she took my cousin's payment. To return to this location again? Maybe. Recommend to others, sure. It would be helpful to know what your skin needs so you can purchase the facial care needed.

Yes it takes quite a few sessions but it works (US has RNs for med spas whereas in Asia it's primarily MD only, so the types of allowable lasers and scope of practice is different). Maryam has been incredible as my provider for fraxel laser, microneedling, and RHA redensity treatments. I've also received diamondglows here. It's a great refresher for your face. You can argue the treatments are pricy, but buying packages will get you a discount. I just think that's how the industry works so always get packages if you can. This place has a variety of treatment options, though they don't offer something like subcision, which is a more-involved procedure. But I'll just get that somewhere else and continue to come here for other treatments. Of course, they've recommended fillers and such for me. Rha redensity is like one. But they've been respectful that I prefer treatments like fraxel laser and such. There is a reason why they recommend filler though, because it does show faster results than others. The rha redensity provided the most improvement in a shorter time. They also have the skincare you need to purchase with ease. You're going to say those are expensive but they're not selling you products like La mer cream for $400. There is a parking lot, and there's always been space when I went, but the traffic getting there can be a bit much. All in all, I recommend doing at least one treatment here to see how you like it. I just have to rave about my fabulous hair stylist, Alice at Sola Salon! I've been seeing Alice for haircuts and color for the past 8 years and she never fails to make me look and feel amazing. Alice always takes the time to understand my hair type, lifestyle, and desired look before suggesting flattering options. She is truly talented - my cuts always have beautiful shape and movement and my color is vibrant yet natural looking. Alice has magic hands! Even when I just get a wash and dry, my hair comes out looking silky and healthy with extra volume. What I really appreciate is that Alice educates me on how to care for and style my hair at home. I was looking for a budget-friendly place for my hair type since many shops charge $120+ for a haircut, and I'm a college student. What drew me to MC Salon was the google reviews about Wendy specializing in layered haircuts and used scissors to cut hair. I have previous trauma from a terrible cut where a person cut my hair dry with a razor... I waited for some time to post this review to cool off because I did not want to write an angry review. I first went to Wendy on 2/19, telling her that I wanted a trim, face framing layers, and physically showed her how much I wanted her to cut off. She was gentle and thorough with the hair wash and I liked the blow out style of my hair. I didn't expect her to cut my hair that short, but I was ok with short hair and my hair looked nice styled. She told me she ended up cutting more than usual since my hair was super thick (I wished she asked before). Anyways, I washed my hair 3 days later and noticed unevenness around the face framing layers. So I called if I can come back for a fix. I still liked my hair at this point, just needed a minor fix. There was one thing I did not like about the first visit is that Wendy kept commenting how dry my hair was and told me I should use hair masks. I told her at the beginning of the appointment that I washed my hair at my boyfriend's place and didn't have access to my hair products-- that's why it was dry. Even though I told her that, she still made comments on the dryness throughout the process. I ignored the comments since Wendy was nice and we had a pleasant conversation throughout. Going back for a 2nd cut is where things went wrong. When I showed Wendy pictures of the unevenness, she said it was because my hair was parted differently. I guess my natural middle part is off centered, so when she cut my hair, she split in the middle evenly. I'm not sure if that's the true reason, but it sounds plausible. It's just strange because I had this parting for 6 years and never experienced this unevenness for face framing. Wendy went to fix my hair following my natural part and also fixed other parts of my hair to be even. She also offered to style it, which I thought was nice. She only lightly styled it and when I saw my hair I thought it was ok looking, but didn't say anything because I didn't want her to cut more hair. When I got into my car to get a closer look, thats when I noticed how much hair she cut, how choppy, & unblended it was.... Clearly it was not face framing layers and she made my bangs SUPER thick. This is when I started to relive my hair trauma and became emotional. I instantly called off work to go somewhere else to fix my hair because I hated my hair so much. The person couldn't do much since my hair was so short and she took pictures of my hair to show it was still uneven. She tried to make it as blended as possible. This experience damaged my self esteem to the point where I had to style my hair every single day or else it would look choppy. Now I have lot of hair damage again. Now that my hair is a bit longer, I no longer style my hair everyday. I just wished Wendy took more accountability instead of blaming it on my natural hair parting. I still don't understand why she cut so much hair the 2nd time. The pictures explain my situation and I will not come back. The cut was $65 and I tipped $10, so I spent $75 on this hair. I think if you have natural pin straight hair or thinner hair, MC Salon may be for you. But for super thick, coarse that is dry with some texture, MC Salon is not for you. I regret my decision and wished I splurged on a higher end salon. I'm only giving this place 2 stars, which is very generous, because of the pleasant experience I had on my first visit. Please note that I did not ask for a refund because I think place still deserves business, just not from me.
