After reading some of the other reviews I felt obliged to write my own. I came across a LaserAway ad and clicked on it to see their prices, which prompted a call, text and email from them. I believe they were based in LA and made the appointment remotely to the flatiron location. I went in for a consultation for laser hair removal. One of the girls took me into an office-like room and started explaining packages to me. I regretfully bought 8 sessions for $1500-1800. I can't remember exactly, there was 'discounts' involved. I went in for my first session and the girl who did the service was very nice. It took about 5 minutes. I had never had any laser treatments before so I don't know how much accuracy or surface area a laser encompasses but it seemed very quick. I followed up with two more sessions with two different girls who did the service. It was very difficult nailing down appointments. It almost seemed like the fast food equivalent of derm spas. The waiting room was always full and they actually rescheduled an appointment with me WHILE I was already there waiting. The second and third session were just as quick and I decided if I was gonna blow all this money I might as well transfer it into Botox to make it worth it. They were able to credit my remaining purchase into Botox but honestly I wish I just got my money back. I am very well versed in fillers and Botox and was asking about the solutions and dilutions of their particular blend. Well, a month later I was pretty sure I had my answer. The Botox was very weak and didn't last long. I advise anyone to seek out a real med spa or doctor for injectables or laser before coming here. read more

I received my first Botox treatment at LaserAway about 2 years ago. I remember I was hesitant because I always thought the right thing to do was to see a plastic surgeon, but the price was beyond what I could afford. Thank goodness I took the chance and booked my first treatment with LaserAway. LA is staffed with seasoned registered nurses and nurse practitioners who explain the procedure, answer questions, and clearly use their skills and craftsmanship to map out the best injection sites so you ultimately have beautiful and even results. Blossom is responsible for my beautiful forehead Annah has been wonderful at communicating with me about my banked units and about LA services and current specials. I have given LA the benefit of the doubt and plenty of time/opportunities to right a wrong. I found LA in *2017* - I came in for a consult for tattoo removal of a pretty large/dark tattoo that had literally just been done less than 6 months prior. The studio was very clean, staff was friendly. During my consultation, I was told, given it was all black and fresh ink, the treatments would work really well and *they couldn't guarantee anything, of course, because every body is different* but it'd be gone in 10 sessions. So, a 10 session package is what I bought. FOR $2,000. That included an add-on sell of numbing cream, which I've now learned other studios offer free of charge. I use the term 'nurse' here, but I'm not sure what sort of qualifications they have over any other technicians. Then, the sessions started - again, in 2017. First few went well... the tattoo seemed to be getting lighter. Again, while the staff is friendly, EVERY SINGLE SESSION (I'm not exaggerating) I would come in 30-45 mins prior to the appointment for numbing and without fail, I'd be told 'oh, we had you down for....'. I was always left waiting for my session. I am extremely punctual and organized, I wouldn't have shown up at the wrong time, particularly after double-confirming many times. Fast forward a few YEARS to around session 7. I started vocalizing to the nurse that I was nervous the tattoo wouldn't be gone by session 10, it was still very much THERE. She told me that 'well, it's pretty far away from your heart, so the farther a tattoo is from the heart, the longer it takes to break down.' What? During this same session, I mentioned to the nurse that my arm was swelling a LOT after treatments, which I know is normal to an extent... but like 2-3x its size. She recommended breaking up the treatments 1/2 and 1/2 (top and bottom side) so my arm would not swell entirely and hinder blood flow to my hand. Terrifying. This was never suggested for any other session - before or AFTER. Session 8/9: again, spoke to studio manager *and* nurse this time to say I wasn't happy... Nurse suggested spreading my appointments out farther apart to allow my body more time to break down the ink. So, more than 3 months in-between? Ok - this is a never-ending treatment. But I'm determined to get rid of this tattoo. Manager also told me it wouldn't be a problem to comp a few additional sessions. Mind you, this session for whatever reason (or maybe the 9th? spanning years here...) the laser, I noticed, was lower in intensity than previous sessions. Are we winding down? Are we trying to get me to purchase more? Session 10: finished my package. This was the first/only session during COVID. Again, studio is clean and I felt safe, no problems there. I come in and again, I'm told 'oh, we had you down for.... just take a seat.' I am in the waiting room for 20+ minutes. But, I'm in no rush, so fine. Then, I'm finally put in a room and numbed..... THEY FORGOT ABOUT ME. I was in the room for 45 MINUTES before *I* came out to ask the receptionist if I was ever going to get treated. Absolutely ridiculous. Post-10-session-package: My tattoo is certainly NOT gone. It's not even light enough to cover, if I wanted, which I don't. Again, I had spoken with the nurse during my last session and she said it shouldn't be a problem to add some sessions and/or they're running a special... Receptionist ran some pricing, still wildly expensive. Receptionist says she sent a note to corporate who would reach out to me about it. No one reached out. I had to follow up. More than once. I spoke to customer service AND 'corporate' about the issue (who didn't answer lol - I had to follow up again!). It was like *pulling teeth* to even get 1 session comped, forget any refund or guarantee of removal. (Other studios offer this.) I reached out to the customer service rep I had last spoken with prior to writing this review, and did not receive a response. I feel completely misled, duped, all the things. I want my money back - and it was NOT a small investment. I'd give 0 stars if I could. read more

For Flatiron location: Good: seemed clean Bad: lack of communication/ documentation of client among their team/did not feel valued as a customer after I paid Overall feel: extremely unsatisfied as a new customer. In agreement to Pamela's reviews below on waivers I appreciate that. But my experience was completely different. My consult was nice I also purchased the groupon and then paid an additional $1,000 for tattoo removal. During my consult they had to get approval for the red (which is fine) but once I got to my appointment I reconfirmed with them if they received the approval because I didn't want to pay if they didn't. The woman who did my consult said yes! I get into the room with the woman removing the tattoo and she said " I didn't know you had red I need to get approval" During my consult I specifically said "I don't want to sign up unless I can get all 10 treatments for all colors" they assured me it's not a problem and during my appointment yesterday after the woman had no idea what I was talking about. After she bandaged the area she said they could try the laser on the red but I had been there over an hour already. She said she would document that I get the same treatment for all the tattoo but since there has been such lack of communication I am worried there won't be any documentation. Also, she only applied the cooling to the first half of the tattoo and I am not sure if it's a correlation but I have serious blistering (which in the waiver they mention could happen so this is the least of my concern). I asked to speak to the woman I did a consult with yesterday and she didn't come out and then I called the same day to speak with her and she never called me back. Front desk is extremely unprofessional. My mother in law called to make an appointment for IPL (she had a Groupon for 3 sessions). The lady who answered is also the one that does the IPL treatments apparently, and she was rude and talked down to my mother-in-law. The receptionist basically told her she'd have to come in for a separate consultation and then make a second appointment for IPL. This is kind of unusual - normally they just do the consultation, and if you're a candidate, they do the treatment immediately. Plus, she'd had IPL before. So she tried pointing that out, and the woman shut her down immediately and spoke to her in a really bossy, patronizing tone. It was over speakerphone, so I heard the entire exchange. My MIL told her she didn't appreciate her attitude and the woman was just speechless. She's lucky I wasn't on the other end of the phone. We contacted Groupon and got a refund immediately. My MIL then bought a different Groupon for IPL at a MedSpa and they gave her an appointment the next day and did the consultation and treatment at the same time. From reading other reviews, it looks like they basically bring you in for IPL, disqualify you for any number of ridiculous reasons, and try to upsell you. Avoid this place! read more

I am a huge fan of Laser Away - I have been getting laser hair removal and Botox from them since I moved to New York 4 years ago and now I wouldn't trust anyone else! Most of the employees performing the procedures are Registered Nurses or Physician's Assistants so you feel like you are in capable, educated hands and they do a great job of explaining step by step - which is much appreciated when there are lasers pointed at your most vulnerable areas! ;) The men and women that work the front desk are fantastic, too. I have a great rapport with Arielle, who has been there since I became a loyal customer, but the others are always helpful and kind as well. They frequently run specials or promotions that I'm alerted about through their mailing list so I take advantage of those to keep costs down because vanity ain't cheap. I bought a tattoo removal package from Groupon and just had a consultation at LaserAway. Since I had previously had the area treated three times at a different laser spa I thought even having a consult was a waste to be honest. I am really glad that I did though. The nurse advised that since my tattoo had color and black they would not be successful in treating it. They could remove the black but the color would require a PicoSure laser that they did not have. The reason for my five star review is that they had me sign a TON of waivers prior to meeting with the nurse. I signed something advising they would not be held liable if the laser did not work on me or if I had minimal results. They could have gone ahead and kept my money and lasered me the three times I paid for and just shrugged at the end and said the colored part of my tattoo was stubborn and tried to sell me more sessions. Instead, they were honest and ethical and told me what I would need and I really appreciate that. Great job, LaserAway! I will definitely be back to do laser hair removal down the road. Sidenote, the salon was gorgeous and the staff was very polite, courteous and knowledgeable. read more

It's now one year later and it's as if I didn't get any laser sessions, the hair is maybe 20% less than it previously was. People were nice and sessions were painless. Unfortunately I can't recommend LaserAway to anyone. I will say, the nurse practitioners at the Flatiron location are fantastic, very professional and friendly, however, management and the front desk staff is an un-organized disaster. Scheduling issues are to be expected anywhere you go, but I have never experienced anything quite like this. I was constantly double booked for appointments, I received calls/texts less than an hour before my appointments, as I was already on the way, and was asked to reschedule. I rescheduled an appointment which I showed up for and was subsequently told it was never added to the system. All in all, the majority of my appointments (14 in total) with LaserAway involved some sort of scheduling debacle. The only positive outcome to all of this is that I received several comp'd sessions to make up for their constant scheduling failures. It's obvious the head manager of this location does not have the competence or operations experience to properly run this business, more importantly, there is a huge disregard for their clients' time and money. I am thrilled to finally be finished with my package and will be booking future laser services with another business. If you do choose LaserAway Flatiron for a service, go in with the expectation that you will need to put in additional time and effort to simply keep your scheduled appointments. Good luck! read more

LaserAway is definitely overpriced, overhyped and overall a scam. If you end up dealing with service rep Danielle B. don't even waste your time. Their customer service as a company is bad but she truly was HORRIBLE. After weeks of trying to get my original issue resolved she finally got back to me and had a really nasty, condescending tone the entire phone call. I ignored it because I just wanted to smoothly part ways with the company. She was highly unprofessional, having the nerve to call me an inappropriate and offensive word, then hung up on me mid sentence. All because I asked her to send me a more professional/detailed confirmation of my refund (after she vaguely texted me from her personal number). I just wanted proof for my records. It's been almost 3 weeks since I've reached out to corporate about the situation and I have still yet to get a response. I'm not surprised, they seem to support inappropriate behavior. My original issue is that I would book my services in advance and for months straight they would move my appointments without my consent ranging from 15-45 mins. I've expressed this issue multiple times and I was patient with the matter but after dealing with Danielle B. was the cherry on top. The customer service line is also useless. Any time you call they tell you they can't do anything on their level but someone from corporate will reach out to you. Problem is corporate never follows up with you. I'm glad to be parting ways with this company. As far as the actual services, some of the technicians aren't as thorough and detailed with their work. Results vary depending on who you are with. Nothing about this place was spectacular other than the "discounts" and "deals" they use to get you in the door before they scam and disrespect you. Overall, I do not recommend LaserAway. Two stars are for their sales tactics which are aggressive and annoying. Every time I check in for an appointment at the front desk I'm met with a sales pitch for more services. Its terrible customer service. All I want to do is have my session. Every time I come in I'm expected to listen to the receptionist ramble on for three minutes about the new deals. At the very least wait till I have only two session left in my package and then ask if I'm interested to hear about new deals. Or put up a flyer on the desk promoting your new packages. Don't make me stand through a sales pitch when I have already bought a package and am showing up for an appointment. The service itself is great and I've had amazing results after only two sessions. The nurses are wonderful. They have great people skills and are kind, compassionate and funny. Their sales tactics needs to change though.
