There are a lot of places in Hoboken to get treatments done and I've had experience with many of them. Without question, LaserAway is the most dishonest and worst service experience. I've been numbed in an upright hard chair for 30 minutes sitting at a table, I was duped into buying a more expensive package for a service I didn't need, I've called countless times to discuss my experience and its taken me 3 months to even get a hold of a person. Unprofessional Staff & Poor Service - The staff was rushed, dismissive, and inattentive, with no effort to ensure proper treatment. No Real Medical Oversight - Despite their claims, I was never assessed by a doctor or given any guidance on laser settings or safety considerations. NO Customer Support - No Phone or Email for Complaints! - Shockingly, there is no direct way to file a complaint. The only reason I gave them a star is because I cannot complain about the actual laser service which was done so to perfection and the girl that treated me was very patient. But I am very disappointed with their customer service. It was my first session and I got bombarded with fake marketing as I was just trying to schedule my next session. I was coerced into signing up for a second package (Brazilian & leg) because it was at a "discount", I had to do it right then and there because allegedly the system doesn't allow them to do it once I was "checked out" from the session. I literally just wanted a day to think about it but the manager that happened to be there said it was not possible. She did some "calculations" but they were very MISLEADING and fast paced. She told me that Afiya would text me and be readily available but that never happened because Afiya never even texted me. I could tell Afiya was uncomfortable with that because when her manager said it to me she looked at her confused. The manager promised me that if I changed my mind I could just call Afiya and she would cancel the second and "discounted" package for me and move the payment of $1200 I made to the original and first package. I called 2 days later and coincidently Afiya and the manager happen to be helping another customer. The girl that answered said they would call me back. One hour later, they never called back so I called them and the girl said "sorry I forgot but the manager just left, she refunded you the $1200 and also canceled the second package." I gave it some business days and still see the second package on my LaserAway account. I never received my $1200 which I did not even want refunded, I wanted it moved to the first package as I was told it would be an option. As of yesterday (09/19), it's been almost 2 weeks now, I call and ask for Afiya again and they are now saying it is Annette that has to do everything and she will contact me in 7-10 business days. I AM SICK OF WAITING. I'm not even worried about the refund because I want it applied to the first package (for the face + underarm). I want to CANCEL the second package (Brazilian + leg). I NEED THIS DONE BEFORE THE FIRST INSTALLMENT IS DUE. You need to teach your managers discretion and a softer approach with their sales skills. I have been patiently waiting for the Hoboken location to open and today was the day! I came in for my appointment without knowing it was their grand opening! I've always had pleasant experiences at LaserAway. My provider for today was Jenn. I was scheduled for Clear + Brilliant and underarm laser hair removal. When I tell you Jenn does not miss a beat, she does not miss a beat! I informed her that my main concern for my skin is texture and she made sure to get every single crevice, including the sides of the nose, which are often neglected. I was really nervous going in for my appointment for clear and brilliant laser treatment but the staff was friendly and answered all my questions and put me to ease. Michelle was kind and walked me through the whole process and kept checking on how I was doing. Everyone was making sure I was comfortable and I got a cute reusable ice pack to go. Yesterday was my first time with LaserAway. I was nervous because I've had laser hair removal done before but it was super painful. The ladies at the reception area were super helpful and accommodating. Due to increment weather, I called an hour before my appt and they were able to give me a later appt. The location is very clean & all the staff are professional. The Nurse Practitioner Michelle was knowledgeable & answered all my questions. The process was quick and painLESS due to the cold air they burst at you while lasering away. I'd say the most I felt was 4/10. For my first laser appointment ever, everyone at the new Hoboken Laseraway location made me feel super comfortable. The front desk ladies (so sorry I didn't catch your names!) were super friendly and informative. They let you know of other packages and savings, but obviously if it's not something you want, don't do it. Lauren who did the actual laser was also so nice and we chatted the whole time which also made me feel more comfortable. She did frequent check ins to see how I was feeling. For 99% of the areas I got done (full legs, full Brazilian, armpits, and happy trail) it just felt like cold air being blasted on you. The other 1% was the more sensitive areas of the Brazilian and like one inch on the shins, and it really just felt like little pin pricks- not bad at all. Keep in mind everyone has a different pain tolerance though. If you submit a request online for more info, yes, a salesperson will call you. Yes, their job is to get business. But if you decide it's not the time for you, you absolutely can say no (I didn't, cause I wanted it!!). Read the contract, pay the full amount in time (or before!!) and you'll be fine. As far as results, I will have to update my review since it was my only first time, but I can say the place is clean and chic, and my skin actually feels a lot smoother walking out than it did walking in. Again, this review is based only on my first visit, but I'm excited to go back in 6 weeks for round 2! (Also the "reviews not currently recommended" are helpful. Not sure why yelp doesn't show them) Update: it took almost 3 weeks to start seeing the hair fall out (I was getting a little nervous), but it did!! I pretty much have have chronic ingrown hairs/razor burn but my skin is like silk after I shave now (which- I've gone 4-5 days without touching my armpits and there's barely anything, so I'm not shaving frequently). Extremely poor scheduling communication. I had to wait 2 months for a C&B Laser appointment only to find out the day of that they somehow booked the wrong service so it was cancelled. The next available time was another 2 months out. Very frustrating when you have to move things around and get childcare coverage for an appointment. read more

This place is horrible. First I had a woman on the phone from their call center trying to upsell me on all this stuff I didn't want so she could make a bigger commission. Then I called the Hoboken location directly and found out that the premium membership and facial she was trying to add on was optional and I saved a couple of hundred bucks by purchasing only what I needed directly from the Hoboken location. The saleswoman seemed pissed and kept texting me claiming that SHE corrected the invoice which the Hoboken location had corrected. Then when I arrived for my initial appointment, they wouldn't do the treatment. Apparently, they wanted medical clearance and I had filled out the medical forms a week prior but their staff failed to inform me about this clearance that is required. Now I'm sitting in their facility, trying to get in touch with my medical doctor on a Saturday not knowing if these scam artist are going to refund me the money I paid upfront if I am not able to get in contact with my doctor on my day off. read more
